Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on Demand.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
It is Michael Jackson. That is Man in the Mirror
six twenty. Good morning, Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court
and it is time for the Morning Breeze Brain Tease.
We do it every weekday morning at this time. Today's question, Love.
I can't wait to hear what people's guesses are. It
is sponsored by my Council Plumbing or in Clean Hands
(00:26):
with my Counsel Plumbing. See them online at mc plumbing
dot com.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
If you buy one of these, it suggested you put
it in the freezer for at least a couple of
days before actually using it.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
I'm so curious, not only about the guesses, but what
the answer to this is. All right eight seven seven,
nine one, nine eight one. It's Kim and Albany, Good morning.
What are you guessing today?
Speaker 3 (00:50):
An ice pack?
Speaker 4 (00:51):
An ice pack?
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Oh, that's a good idea. Yeah, you gotta get that
makes sense, solid and cold. I'm sure that's not the answer,
but I'm looking at courts face, Kim, and I think
that is not the answer.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
It's based on his face.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
But to Kim's point, if you were to buy an
ice pack at the store. I am sure the instructions
would say put this in the freezer for at least
a couple of days.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Before you It's just not the answer to this question.
It's not what is the answer, Craig, the answer.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
If you buy a used book, it suggested that you
put it in the freezer at least a couple of
days before you use it.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Yeah, is that why? That's exactly why kill the bus.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah, it's the safest way for the book, and it
takes care of the problem of like mites.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
And and you're going to put that in your freezer
with your food, Well, I think maybe you put it
in a ziplock bag and then you put it in your.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Flower is something that you freeze.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
Flower flowers.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
I feel like a book, a used book in your freezer,
even if it was in a zip block, would make
your freezer stink.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Nancy, it's all sealed up.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
I would not want that.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
No, be gross, Your peas would taste like a library.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Everything in your freezer should be enclosed it so that
there you know, there's no shared error.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Good to know, just saying all right, thanks.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
A lot, bye bye.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
I have another question for you court about the weevils.
We weavils. Yes, I believe it's the V A V.
I think so when you freeze the flower, you kill
the weavils. But then what happens when the flower thaws?
Do they come back?
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Yeah? I don't do this work.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
I don't think they do. But maybe I'm as i'm
thinking about this, they might if they're already in there.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Oh okay, because I'm just thinking. I always have flower
in my pantry. Yeah, but I've never frozen it, so
I wonder if I freeze it. I don't know how
big of a problem this actually is these days. My
my mom used to always teach me because we always
have flower talks. Is this if you do if the
weavil shows up, you just get rid of the flower,
(03:05):
to just get rid of it.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
The whole thing. Yes, I usually just picked the weavil out.
You can Is that how you typically do it? Shift
sift it out?
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, yeah, I guess you could do that, but I
think it's recommended that you just get rid of it.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Oh, but I mean sorry for everybody I've ever baked for,
which has been like two people, so they're fine, they're fine. Yeah,
you don't deal with a lot of flour given that
you're yeah, but I think glute free I think gluten
free flower probably has the same issue.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
I would imagine. I don't know, but I had.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I did not wake up this morning and see the
saw my Bengo car that we'd be talking about Flower
on the air, the Morning Breeze and baking.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Stuff and then books, Ye, so much books in your
freezer of all places.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
I know again, I go, I stand by that. I
feel like it would make my freezer smell like an attic.
But anyway, we're at eight seven seven, nine eight one,
nine eight one. We played the Morning Breeze brain teas
every weekday morning here at six forty six twenty and
love when you join.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Us, and something else we do an eight to fifty
is go commercial free as you begin your work day.
Later on, we're gonna give you ninety eight minutes of NonStop,
commercial free, relaxing favorites. So be here eight to fifty
on the Morning Breeze and brees. It's music from Ben E.
King at six forty two. Here on ninety eight point
one The Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
(04:19):
Court And because it is six forty two, it's time
for what I'm calling quickly becoming the Bay Area's most
informative minute on the radio.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
The more you know.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
I was saying earlier that there is a very popular
breakfast item that you've probably been eating your entire life,
but it should be eaten a certain way. And it's
become sort of this debate online and there are many
arguments in the positive category for what they're saying online.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
This isn't you trying to convince me like my brother
Chris did once that I that you should eat a
banana from the middle the middle. Yeah, that's a whole second,
I believe. So it's not a banana.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
No, it's not a banana. It's cereal.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
And what they're saying is you should put the milk
in the bowl first and then the cereal on top.
There are many arguments as to why you should do this.
Number one, you're maintaining the crunchiness.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Of the cereal less time in the milk.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
The milk goes first, the cereal sits atop the milk,
delaying sogginess and preserving the crunchiness. Also, there's a better
milk to cereal ratio. This way, you pour the milk first.
You can determine like the precise amount that you desire
of the milk, and then you can add the cereal
in increments, so it gives you that better ratio. Also
(05:41):
avoids that leftover milk situation that you always have, which
is my favorite part.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
If you're eating like a chocolate e cereal like Coke.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Crisp or kids of the eighties and nineties, Yeah, I
just love that chocolate milk at the end.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
The cocoa crisp good man, that's yeah. Remember remember cookie?
What was a cook cookie crunch?
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Right?
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Wait now I'm forgetting the name of it. The cookie
cereal from the eighties, Cookie Crisp. I guess that's it.
Oh cookie crisp.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Yeah, how you like? Oh you could eat it and
it literally tasted like a cookie. It was it was
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
I would say it's cookie adjacent. It wasn't quite a cookie.
I had this thought, and I won't tell you how
old I was when I did this, but I thought,
you know those frosted animal cracker cookies. Oh yeah, I
thought this was from mothers. Yeah. Yeah, I'm like, I'm like,
I wonder what if you could eat these like cereal,
like just dun'k like put them in a it doesn't work.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
I would imagine that when the frosting comes off of
those things in a bowl of milk, all I.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
Sink like a stone.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
It's just too Cereal. Cereal is like specifically designed to
have some lightness to it. Yeah, so that's why those
that's why I called those cookies from cookie crisp cookie
adjacent there.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
Yeah, far enough, fair enough, but still delicious.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
While we're on the subject of cereal, I was thinking
back to when we were growing up. My dad would
eat Life cereal, which kind of a healthy cereal, right, well,
I thought it was. But here's how Where's how the
kids ate it. My brother is a me. We'd pour
the Life cereal in the bowl, pour the milk over it.
Then I'd head over to the old sugar bowl the
sugar contain I'd take a tea spoon of sugar and
(07:19):
sprinkle it all over and hope that when I got
to the bottom of the bowl of cereal, it was
just a clump of sugar with milk absorbed, and I
just eat it. The fact that I have any teeth
in my mouth right now is a miracle.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Thats the way we usedtate shredded wheat. My mom would
always get shred wheat, and you just load that up
with sugar. It's tolerable.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Got the sugar on the outside there with that coating.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Well, if you got the sugar went, we were getting
the just the plain ones that were not did have Yeah,
I know, I know, Mom, go back to your original point.
Oh yeah, anyway, sorting to these scientists, we should be
doing milk first, then cereous.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Yeah, preserve the crunchiness. Milk to cereus real ratio. That's
what they're saying. So now you know, if you want
to preserve the milk in your bowl, have that better ratio. Yeah,
love it milk then cereal, then you're good to go.
And that is the more you know. And that's how
it works. We do it every weekday morning here at
six forty.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
By the way, life Cereal, if you get the cinnamon
is the one of the best cereals.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
I don't know, cinnamon is so aggressive in the morning.
I feel like, I mean maybe on the coast, all right,
I feel like we peak.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Here, here we go, here's here's what we want.
Speaker 1 (08:31):

wise person once said Carolyn. The way this works is
I can't wait. You bring the questions, we'll provide the answers.
Did a wise person really say that? Or is that
wise person you No, you actually.
Speaker 4 (11:52):

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Oh, perfect, okay, yes, a wise person has said that.
All right, ask us anything at eight seven, seven.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Nine one, nine eight one. Sue in Santa Rosa, good morning,
ask us anything.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Costco's got this new food item at the food court.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
It's a col zone.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
So what items you guys like at the Costco food court?
Speaker 4 (12:18):
It's great question.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Oh I've got an automatic go to on that. All right,
go ahead, I'm going the soft surf yogurt vanilla. Oh well,
they put it in a full cut it is.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Their yogurt is delicious.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
It's so good and if you can't eat it by
the time you got home, that's a good serving.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
That is my god. So you are challenging yourself. If
you can't eat it by the time you get home,
you're a rotten egg.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
No, no, it's just that's a good serving. What about
for you, Sue, we'll go to you next.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
I actually like their hot dogs, because where do you
get a hot dog anymore? Right now? You know the
street In New York, we used to always have the
street vendors. You could always go get a hot dog
from the street vender.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Here they don't have that.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
They have it at Oracle Park. They make those hot
dogs wrapped bacon. They've got the onions and the peppers.
But you have to go on the night of a
baseball game. But I see what Sue's saying. In New York,
you just walk down the street and it's like always there,
given Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
Yeah, there are places in the city though.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
I know out in Golden Gate Park there's a hot
dog stand in one of the entrances to like the
botanical gardens. That's awesome. Yeah, it's pretty great. Yeah, I
wus Sue on this one. The hot dog is my
go to, I will say. And if anybody from Costco
is listening, bring back the Polish dogs. Oh those used
to also be a dollar fifty and they were the best.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Really, oh, they were so good.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
I think I'm shocked that no one on this call
said the pizza, because the.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Pizza is good. Pizza is my second go to.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Okay, the chicken bake third, Oh, it's pretty great.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
What's on the chicken pig.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
It's like just it's like a I don't know, it's
like a chicken something wrapped in bread baked. That does
sound good.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
It's got like chicken and cheese. That's pretty great.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Okay, now I'm hungry.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
I know I could go.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
To Costco right now and eat everything at the food court. Well,
that's a good question, sue.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Uh me, And I'm looking at my watch. They open
in just a couple hours. Perfect. All right, guys, make
it a good day you too.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Bye bye.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Not only is the Costco food court good, but the
samples at Costco you could spend your whole day eating.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
And I know people that have oh yeah that eat,
they will go there on their lunch and just seats him.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
They're good, they're good, You're good to go. Why not?
They want you to eat them so you come back
and buy the food.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Yeah. Hey, by the way, I look this up as
we were talking. The calzone that's coming to the Costco
food court. Ye, it's not all Costcos yet. Oh it's
the last I think they're starting on, like the East coast,
and then maybe it'll show up here in the bear.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
I think it will it better. It sounds so good,
all right. It's ask us anything.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
We do it every weekday morning here at seven twenty five.
You can reach us at eight seven seven nine eight
one oh nine eight one, or send us a message
with our iHeartRadio app and that talkback mic. It's OMC.
That is how bizarre. It's eight oh nine. Good morning.
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Carolyn.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
I've noticed a pattern of shopping that I have. I
like to do the shopping in my house and over
the weekend. This past weekend, I was doing some shopping,
buying some chicken, can grill up some nice chicken.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
I thought to myself, you know what, I don't think
we have any good chicken seasoning. So let me swing
by this the this, you know, aupermarket, the spice isle
of the supermarket and grab some seasoning. And I always
am drawn to McCormick's Montreal Chicken Seasoning. Okay, it sounds.
It's got herbs, and it's got kind of like a
(15:35):
lemon zest to it, some onion and garlic.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
It's delicious, right.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
So I grab a fresh bottle, go home, open the
cupboard to put it away, and staring back at me,
two brand new bottles of Montreal seasoning. Oh, I see
what's happening.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
Yeah, And that was just the two in the front.
I found another one in the back. No way, I
have four bottles.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
And for some reason in my mind, uh huh, I
can't I can't remember that.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
I always buy it and I always have it. You
know what, I'm gonna make you feel better. I do
that with Pam cooking spray.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
I don't know if I think like the world is
going to run out of Pam cooking spray. But every
time I go to the store, I get a can,
I bring it home. I open the cupboard. There's five
cans of cooking spray. I don't know why. Yeah, so
you're never going to run out, never going to run out.
But then there's the other things you always run out
of that you always forget to buy totally every time
(16:32):
and have to go back to the store. But what
you would think because Montreal seasoning chicken seasoning, which by
the way, there's a steak version of.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
It, which is also delicious, But you would think that
would stand out in my brain, especially now that I've
realized there are four bottles in my cupboard.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Everybody has that thing that they always buy too much of,
keep buying that they do what you do. I also
do it with taco seasoning. Oh the season you know,
the mccormicks. You can't really have two many of those,
to be honest, that's a good point.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Yeah, I also have I tend to do it with
the salad dressings because my wife has a very specific one.
Oh yeah, So whenever I see it, I'm like, oh,
I better grab that. And again, there's like four or
five bottles in the cupver. It doesn't hurt to stock
up though. It's not a bad it's not a bad
promise seasoning. It's not going to go bad. Right, there's
a lot of chicken. You grill a lot, but then
be fine. You would think you would stock up on
(17:24):
like more essential things, not Montreal chicken spice.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
It's so specific and it's so good all right, So
what is that item for you that you go to
the store and you buy it over and over and
then you come home and you've got a cabinet full
or pantry full of it already eight seven seven nine
eight one nine eight one. You could send us a
message with our iHeartRadio app that talkback microphone. Just push that.
(17:48):
You've got thirty seconds to leave that message. Super easy
to use, very easy to do.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
And also a reminder coming up this morning at eight fifty,
as you begin your workday, we're going to give you
ninety eight minutes of NonStop commercial free relaxing favorites.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Yes, make sure you're here at eight point fifty as
we go commercial free for you here on the Breeze.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. You know Carolyn.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
