Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on demand Smokey Robinson.
Six 't twenty one is the time you got the
Morning Grades with Carolyn and Court and it's time for
the Morning Breeze. Brain Te's a chance for you to
exercise your brain a little bit.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
You know.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Think of it as a gym for your mind. Ooh,
I like that, minus the sweat and the sore muscles. Yeah,
I like no, I like it.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
You seem hesitant on that last part. We were thinking
about sweating and soar muscles. It's like six twenty one.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Yeah, so early. All right, Well, we're just gonna it's
it's like it though, yeah, like the Morning Breeze. Brain
Teas is sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in clean
hands with Mike Cancel Plumbing. Visit them an EMC plumbing
dot com. All right, let's hear that question one more time.
Eight percent of people say they're not sure if they've
done this at a party. Well, if they did, it

(00:52):
was probably at or after a party, So a lot
of clues in there.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
I know this is such a tricky one because that
number is so low. All right, eight seven seven nine
oh nine eight one that's how you reach us. Teresa
and Oakland, good morning. What is your guess to.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
The wrong car? Oh? Yeah, smart? Or put your key
in the wrong door. If you look up complex, it
looks the same. I've done that where you sit there
and you're trying to unlock your car and you're like,
why is this thing not opening? Yeah, so embarrassing.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
I've definitely gone to the wrong car, though, if it's
like the same model and just not your car, and
then you do that thing or you try to pretend
like you knew it wasn't your.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Car, and then there's a panic of where is my car?

Speaker 3 (01:37):
No, you're good, I would have been shaken on that door.
Not kidding.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
I think that's a really good guess because I think
we've all been there before. But that's not the correct answer.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
I'm going to keep guessing until I get it right.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Well, thank you for fowling. Sure, Nancy in San Jose,
you've got a guess. What is it regretted going? That's
ninety nine point. I think we've all been there before
a lot of times. That happens at the party, most
likely within the first few minutes.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Uh huh.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
You pretty much know when you get there like, what
have I done? Yeah? Why did I come? Great'? That
is a great grass Probably pretty accurate, well at least
in terms of us feeling that way, but not the
correct one today correct answer. Eight percent of us say
we're not sure if we've inhaled helium from a balloon.
Oh yeah, I've done that for sure. Okay, I've done this.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Or after that's when you're taking stuff down, you're taking
the balloons down, You're like, what am I going to
do with this?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Am I gonna pop it? No, I'll inhale it and
do the funny voice big which We've got a helium
balloon in the corner, just begging it, just begging.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
You know, it's funny because that was all the thing
to do, Like in my day, back in the eighties,
Would you inhale the But I just think of that
and I'm like, that can't be good for you. And
I'm looking at this helium balloon that we have here
the court gave me for my birthday in July, Nancy,
and it's like, I don't want to inhale that. I
just feel like, probably not the smartest thing. Yeah, we
sure did plenty of it back in the day. And

(03:07):
lived to tell about it.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
I did it last week. You did. Oh for sure.
There's helium, ballion and baoon in my house.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
It just constricts your vocal cord.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
But yeah, and that's why your voice changes.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
But we are not saying you should do it. No,
we're not saying you should do it. But a lot
of people have there. You go in ants n at day,
you too.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
It is one of those things as a parent because
when your kid comes to you and is like, I
would like to suck all the helium out of these balloons,
and you're as a parent, You're like, it's probably not
the best thing I can't do. You imagine saying to
my kid like, yeah, do that. But so far that
they haven't really come out and said no, you should
not do this.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Well, I think if you do a lot of it.
But again, we're not condoning anybody. I'm not gonna sit
here and be like it's fine. Yeah, yeah, but it
does seem like it would be very bad for you
long term.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
On top of the fact that helium is so expensive
these days, is it really yeah, it's said running scarce?
Is it not a lot of helium left in the universe?
Apparently I didn't know that. Now, Wow, I learned something,
and then I learn something again.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
On the Morning Breeze brain Teas, we do it every
weekday morning at six twenty and coming up tomorrow morning, gosh,
it's already Thursday. Coming up tomorrow morning, we are going
to announce this week's Morning Breeze Person of the Week.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
We'll do that just after seven o'clock. Yeah, it's a
weekly celebration of the good and great people in the
Bay Area doing good things but not being recognized for
those things. And the way we find out about them
is you nominate them on our website.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Yeah, we need your help in bringing those people to
us so that we can brag about them on the air.
So tell us who that person is that you know
that's always doing good things for other people. Tell us
what they've done. We just need their name, a little
bit of information, and then we will call them and
surprise them and make them our person of the week,
which is quite fun. So get those nominations. In ninety
eight one the Breeze dot Com.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Hey guys at Earth Louise.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
It's Kelly Clarkson at six forty one on the Morning
Breeze with Carolyn and Court as we get right to.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
The more, you know, all right, so I tease you
with this, something that was once big then almost obsolete
is making a comeback. Yeah. I've been trying to think
about what this is, but I guess on any of
there you just want me to Is it a food,
It's not a food. Not a food. Is it a game?
Is it a sport? No? Is it a clothing like

(05:27):
a piece of clothing, a clothing style? Nope? All right?
Why do you just tell us? Shows almost over the
cassette tape, the cassette tape and making a comeback. And
people may have been become aware of this most recently
because Taylor Swift has been in the news right a
little bit coming out and everybody's like, it's coming out
in vinyl and all this stuff, and she's releasing it

(05:49):
on cassette tape and everybody's like what Wow. Yeah. So
in twenty twenty three, Wow, four hundred and thirty six
thousand cassettes were sold in the United States. Okay, and
that might not seem like a lot, but back in
twenty fifteen, only eighty thousand cassette tapes were sold.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
I'm surprised that eighty thousand were sold. Yeah, so Taylor
Swift is responsible for cassettes.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Making is Taylor Swift? But a lot of artists have
started to re release or even new artists started releasing
their stuff on cassette tape. I love it the vinyl stuff.
I get like I've been I've gotten back into vinyl.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
There's a sound with vinyl, the crackling, yeah, hearing the needle.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
I don't know what. I don't know what the appeal
of the cassette tape is.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
I'll be honest. I love the idea of cassettes coming back.
That was certainly my generation. I think yours too.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Oh for sure.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
But cassettes were difficult. Remember trying to fast forward to
the next song. He had to guess when one song
ended and the other one started, unless you had that
little thing that tripped it.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yes, there was the silence tripper the more advanced cassette tapes.
In fact, my dad had won in his truck where
you could skip to the next track because it looked
for the silent on the exactly and then it would
just skip to that. But yeah, so they're expecting in
twenty twenty five to be like well over six hundred
thousand cassettes being sold. Uh, they say music super fans

(07:13):
are the ones that are buying these up people that
just want all sorts of different media, So they're buying
not only cassettes but the vinyl CDs.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
If I had to ask you right now, yeah, favorite
cassette album that you owned back in the day.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Favorite?

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Well, me being a big YouTube guy, I inherited my
when my brother moved on to CDs, I got all
of his tapes and so I had the full YouTube catalog.
What a grab. And the crazy thing about the cassette
tapes is if they had a lot of liner notes,
that thing just would keeping, Yes, it would. You could
read all the lyrics.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Sometimes the artists will put the lyrics in the in
the cover early whatever the liner notes.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah, yeah, what about you.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
My favorite cassette that I almost like, literally played until
it wouldn't play anymore is Brian Adams Reckless. I'm a
huge Brian Adams fan. It's my favorite album of all time.
But I would say I really did some damage to
Bobby Brown Don't Be Cruel. I loved that album. Yeah, love,
that's really cool.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
The first cassette I ever purchased on my own was
MC hammers, Please Hammer, don't hurt.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Oh it's another that's another jam. I went one step beyond.
Not only did I have that whole album, but then
I got all the songs on cassette single. Yeah, because
I just in case the album broke, I wanted back.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
You ready to go?

Speaker 3 (08:35):
It's so great. Wow, that's fascinating. Well, we'll see where
it goes the more, you know. We do it every
weekday morning here at six forty on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Something else we do here on the Morning Breeze at
eight to fifty as we go commercial free, So be
sure to join us at eight to fifty for ninety
eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free, relaxing favorites. And again
we'll do that at eight fifty here on the Morning Breeze.
Music from the backstree Boys. At seven oh seven here
on ninety eight point one the Breeze. You've got the
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court And it's time now
for the Brighter Side. Sponsored by Shreeven Company, Luxury time pieces,

(09:04):
fine designers and Flawless Diamonds. The Brighter Side is a
chance for us to shine a light on the moments
that made you smile this week? Absolutely, and you can
call us with your Brighter Sides eight seven seven nine
eight one nine eight one, or use the talkbacked feature
on our free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
I think what made us smile this week was the
news that we just heard this morning about the band
we just played. You were alluding to when we were
mentioning the Brighter Side was coming up that we have
great news about a breeze artist that we think will
bring a smile to your face. We're talking about the
Backstreet Boys, who you know are doing this residency in

(09:40):
Las Vegas at the Sphere, which you've been to the
Sphere in Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
I haven't been to a show. I have visited the building,
but I haven't seen a show there yet. I thought
you saw a show there. No, it's on my bucket list.
Didn't you see you too there? I wanted to. I
thought you did. I couldn't afford those tickets, oh okay, okay,
uber expensive. But the videos that came out from you
two unbelievable, the ones from the Backstory.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Boy show, Oh my gosh, it's unbelievable, unbelievable. So they
are doing a residency at the Sphere. They're celebrating the
release of their millennium album, which I almost fell over
when I read that was twenty five years ago.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
That's crazy.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
So their residency was supposed to run through the end
of the year, but the show that the Backstory Boys
are doing in Las Vegas is so popular that they've
added new year's shows. Well, those shows sold out, of
course they did. And the demand is so high for
tickets to see the Backstory Boys at the Sphere that
they just added more shows yesterday and those shows are
going to be happening early to mid February of twenty

(10:39):
twenty six. My friend Marie went and saw the Backstory
Boys at the Sphere in Vegas. She said, it is
mind blowing. It's so good.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Thing about the Backstree Boys is it doesn't matter how
burly of a man you are. When I want it
that way comes on the radio. Oh my god, you
are singing along? Is that your favorite? That is my
favorite Backstory I gotta tell you.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
At the Giants Games, we do a sing along in
like the eighth inning, and we have fans vote on
what song they want to hear. We give four choices
every time we put that song by the Backstreet Boys
up on Giant's vision or the Jumbo Tron, it wins.
It wins, of course, and to see the fans in
the stands up and singing along to your point, doesn't

(11:29):
matter how old you are, how young you are, male, female,
everybody loves that song so good. It's so so good,
and you often wonder, like, you know, for the Backstreet Boys,
like what is it about their music that makes it
so timeless? Aj McLean was actually talking about that, there's.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Something about the music that no matter how old you are,
no matter where you're from, it takes you back to
a special moment in your life, a special memory going
back to millennium. You know, you're seeing all these young
teenage girls that are now parents bringing their kids to
our shows. We've seen up to four generations coming to

(12:07):
our shows. So we've made music that's been able to
transcend generations, thankfully, and we've just been so beyond blessed
to have songs that have stuck around for almost thirty
two years.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Now.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
That's a good point those shows. It's mothers and daughters,
it's fathers and sons, like it does. It spans the generations.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
I'm thinking a road trip might be in order here, Carolin.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
How fun would that be? Yeah, that would be so fun.
We could take your girls, that'd be great. And Randy,
of course, you're count two tickets for the newly added
Backstreet Boys shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas, by
the way, going on sale tomorrow at nine am, so.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
You can get those tickets. Very nice. Yeah, I love
that brighter side. That was fun. We're great.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
We're at eight seven seven nine, eight one oh nine
eight one. If you've got a brighter side for us,
like Court mentioned a minute ago, you can always send
us a message with our iHeartRadio app using that talkback microphone.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Also if you've got a question for us. Coming up,
but seven twenty five, it's ask Us Anything, a chance
for us to basically turn the show over to you
with your questions. Yeah, so bring them on.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Whether you call us or send us a message through
our iHeart app, we will take your questions. We're going
to do ask Us Anything next on the Breeze. It's
Dancing Queen the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Port seven
twenty nine, and it is time for ask Us Anything.
We turn the show over to you you call us
and ask us anything that's on your mind. We are

(13:27):
here to answer it. We can't promise you it's going
to be right or it's going to be a great answer,
but we will answer it.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Any question goes eight seven seven, nine eight one nine
eight one.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
All right, Steve in Oakland ask us anything? Yeah, I
was wondering if you have any pets, and if so,
what are they? Oh do we have any pets? So
I will let Carolyn answer for herself, but I have
we have two dogs. We've got it. How old is Charlie?
It's middle aged, right, I think he's either five or six.

(13:58):
I think he's six. Now he's a terrier. We think
he's got like a jack either Jack Russell or rat
terrier in him. Okay, maybe some Chihuahua, but we rescued
him during the pandemic. And then we've got a younger
Chihuahua mix, Leo, that we adopted about well it's almost
been three years now.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Oh, we have got a little Jack Russell myself.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Oh what's your dog's name? Apollo?

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Yeah, he's he's a kick.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
He's got quite a personality. Well, that's great. I know.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
We love our pets and Steve, thank you for calling
and have a good rest of your day.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Thank you for listening and join your show.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Thank you, we'll talk to you later.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Sounds good. We didn't talk about your pet, Carolyn.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
I feel like we talk about my pet every day.
I was going to sit this one out, but everybody
knows I have a Golden Retriever named Perk.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Yeah, and she used to work every day with me.
In fact, she's lying on the ground like a foot
away from me right now. She loves courts. She's exhausted
apparently well.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
The heat has gotten to her in the East Bay,
so she went every morning when we come into work,
she leaves me immediately and goes right to you.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
It's like she's saying good morning to you. It. I
love it. She's the best though. Yeah. So that's a
great to ask us anything. Thank you, Steve.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
And if you have a question for us, you can
send us a message with our iHeartRadio AP use that
red microphone button that is the talkback mic on our app,
or you can call us eight seven seven nine eight
one oh nine eight one. We're always happy to answer
your questions and coming up later this morning eight fifty
as you begin your workday, We're going to give you
ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial, free, relaxing favorites. Yeah,

(15:34):
we'll start that right at eight fifty here on the Breeze.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
I read that when Kim Carnes released the song back
in the eighties, Carolyn, Yeah, Betty Davis reached out to
her and said, thank you for making me cool to
my grandkids. Oh, that's so cute. I believe that too.
I love that song, such a great song. It's eight ten.
You've got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Courton. Apparently
you've been the chat GPT in me. Well, look, chat

(15:57):
GPT is all the rage. I feel like more and
more people are using it, but I feel like you
you really like chat GPT. I'm not saying you use
it too much or you use it for everything, but
I'm just saying you use it too much, and you
use it for everything. It's a tool in my tool bag.
It is, so I thought, why not chat GPT? Why
should I listen to court Johnson? Oh were you having?

(16:21):
Was that an inner dialogue for yourself? I had said something,
You're like, why should listen to you? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
I came in at six o'clock this morning, and it's
just something told me I should chat GPT you.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Okay, So here's what it says about you. You're ready, Yeah,
because you.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Should listen to Court Johnson because he's the kind of
radio host who makes you feel like you're part of
the conversation. He brings a warm, approachable style, mixes in humor,
and has a way of telling stories that feel relatable,
like you're chatting with a friend. Court also knows how
to balance fun and lighthearted moments with music you love,
plus little insights that brighten your day. Wow, how about that?

(16:57):
And I said to chat GPT, you are spot on?
So I thought that was kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
What did chat cheept say back?

Speaker 3 (17:07):
It said, want me to write this like a quick
on air pitch that you could use to invite listeners
to tune into Court.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
And I said yes, Oh, so that this entire thing
was written by chat GPT.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
It said, Court's got the stories, the laughs, and of
course the music you love. Hang out with Court and
you'll see why he's the guy. Wow, you want keeping
you company. That's where chat GPT took a hard rite
for me that I didn't care for. But I really
like the description of you. I thought that was so cute. Wow,
I know, isn't that nice? So I would ask you
with chat cheapt what percentage of the work that you

(17:42):
do do you think you use chat cheapt for? I like,
how involved are you with this now? I like probably
five percent?

Speaker 1 (17:49):
That's it. I don't use it. I don't use it
that often. I'll sometimes ask it for some rephrasing of
some stuff for my wife's business, which I help her with.
I use it a little more there, okay, But it
is one of those things where it's a great tool,
but you've it's still it's still it's a robot, yeah,

(18:09):
figuring all this out, it's writing about you and why
you're so good. But I mean there it was spawn
one hundred percent nailed. It couldn't boob it do better everybody,
all of our friends that work for open AI, nice job, congratulations,
good work. But outside of that, it's, you know, it's
a work in progress. Yeah, oh thanks for asking, Yeah,
did you did you? Howten do you use it? Carolyn?

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Not that often because I I don't want it to
dumb me down, you know, I want to still have
to think about things.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
And use my brain. Otherwise it's just like you said,
we're all robotic. Then that's the biggest the critics say
is that it They worry that your critical thinking is
going to go away because you're just letting chet, GPT
or other AI platforms make decisions for you. I did.
I actually I pulled it out the other day. My
daughter was an a fender bender and I had to
have a conversation with the guy she hit via text. Yeah,

(19:00):
and I wanted to figure out the best approach. That
was basically saying, Hey, we want to deal with this.
We don't want to go through our insurance company. But
I wanted to, you know, make sure he knew that
I'm gonna take responsibility. I just want to pay out
of pocket. If you can see chat chat GPT that
and game up with it. It gave me a text
that I could send.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
Here's what I'll say about chat, GPT, and then we'll
move on. I think that it's a great tool, but
I also think it's important that you use your brain
to go in and rewrite what it says sometimes and
make it your own.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Well, it's like a meeting in the middle. My wife
is like a hawk. She can look at stuff and
no instantly if if it come from from the AI.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
That's a twenty twenty five skill right there, Yes, all right,
we're at eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.
How how heavily are you relying on chat GPT? And
if you use it a lot in your job, what
do you do? I'm kind of curious to know, like
who's using it? You can always send us a message
with our iHeartRadio app that talk back Mike.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
And here is something that chat GPT had nothing to
do with. Now in the eight minutes of NonStop commercial
Free Relaxing Favorites. Do it every weekday morning at eight fifty.
I can tell you that it is handpicked by truly. Yeah.
Takes a lot of time. Yeah, and you do it well, Carolyn,
Thank you Court. Yeah. So join us for NonStop commercial

(20:13):
free relaxing Favorites ninety eight minutes worth at eight to
fifty here on the morning Breeze.
