Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, Morning Breeze on demand. So it's the
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and time now for
the Morning Breeze. Brain Tea's a little exercise for the brain.
Never hurt anybody, It sure doesn't, Court, as far as
we know. It's sponsored by Mike Council Plumbing. You're in
clean hands with my Council Plumbing. Visit them at mc

(00:21):
plumbing dot com. Today's question. Sixty percent of adults say
it's important for kids to do this, but only half
of children have ever done it. You've already guessed exercise.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Right, It is not that it's not the answer, okay?
Eight seven seven nine.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Eight.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
One is how you reach us? Ramona in Berkeley? What
is your guess? I'm gonna say, go to the library
and check out a book, a library book.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah, with the Internet.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
I don't fig your kids really go anymore.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
They do, though, I go buy my local library. I
see cars there all the time, bikes in.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
The bike racks, rustling and bustling.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Hustling and bustling.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Court, Yes, but not the right answer.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
All right, Hey, have a good one you bye bye.
All right, Michelle and Antioch, what do you think the
answer is nap in ap, oh nap. I've taken maybe
two naps in my lifetime.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Which I'm surprised by it, but it's pretty accurate, Michelle,
because when the kids are younger and you like want
to take want them to take the nap, they really
need it, but they don't want to do it. And
it's not until you're older in life that you really
learn to appreciate those naps. I love it.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
My mom used to tell me lay down on the
bed and see who could be the quietest the longest.
I'll bet you I can lay there longer than you quieter.
And then next thing I knew, my mom was up
and running around the house and I was taking the nap.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
What a genius move on your mom's.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah, it's the quiet game.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
It's the quiet game. That's cute.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Great move, as great as naps are not the correct answer.
Sixty percent of adults say it's important for kids to
go to a summer camp. However, only half of children
have ever done it. Summer camp. I am summer camp
for yeah, yeah, and we have that too. We call
it camp Nana camp. Nana. Ye.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
That's so cute, guys, that's fun.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Than bye.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
I would imagine as an Eagle Scout court that you
did a lot of camping every summer.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
In fact, that it was typically we would do a
Big Boy Scout summer camp the first week or two
right after school ended. All through my middle school and
high school years, do you remember.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
How excited you would be as a kid to look
forward to camp. We did Camp Conquered, and it was
in South Lake, Tahoe, which at the time I didn't realize,
you're camping in Tahoe's great, your friends so fun. But
I just didn't appreciate it back then. Now, Oh my gosh, Yeah,
I actually drove. I was coming home from Tahoe. This
is like a year ago, and I stopped in at
Camp Conquered. I saw the signs off there, and I thought,

(03:00):
I'm gonna stop in and see what it looks like.
It looks I mean, when you're a kid, you feel
like this place is jagging huge.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
I pulled in, I'm like, this is it. It's it's awesome.
It's like visiting your elementary school. Yes, you go into
it and you're like, this place is tiny, Yes, exactly
that It's so funny. The morning breeze brain tease.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
You can play along with us and join the show
every weekday morning here at eight forty and.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Coming up next here on the Morning Breeze, we are
going commercial free, ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free
relaxing favorites.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Yep, we're going to start that for you next right
here on the Breeze at Breeze.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Bet Middler at six point forty one. Here on ninety
eight point one the Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court and it's time now for a little
education in our lives.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
We call it the more you know, but this is
fun education. It makes me laugh every time. It's so
nineteen eighties. Oh yeah, So we now know how far
in advance we collectively clock out of work mentally before vacation.
You know, there's a little bit of time left in summer.
Some people are doing those oh yeah, last minute vacation.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Some might be heading there right now because we've got
the labor day weekend.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Oh, such a good point. And you know how that
goes when you've got a vacation on the books and
you're getting closer and you could feel yourself just separating
your shirt from work. A little sooner than maybe you should.
They are saying seventy percent of us mentally clock out
of work three days before taking a vacation.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Three days. Okay, all right, I feel.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Like that number is a little low. I feel like
it's probably tired. I think one hundred percent of people
are clocked out three days. I think seventy percent of
people are clocked out like a week or two weeks,
like at least a week. You know, when you get
in with that week time frame, like.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
It's especially if you're going somewhere great.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yes, So let's say it's Friday and you're leaving the
following Fridays a week out. Yeah, you're going, Oh my gosh,
next Friday at this time.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Why am I even going to work next week? I'm out?

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Yes, So I don't know, do you what do you
feel like that number is for you?

Speaker 1 (05:07):
I feel like three is probably pretty spot on.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
You do?

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Oh yeah, okay, because yeah, I could. You know, I'm
a responsible worker.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
I just booked a trip for October. Yeah, and I
feel like I checked out when I booked the trip.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
You've already you're already picturing yourself there.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
It's August twenty six.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yeah, you're counting down the dates.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Oh yeah, no, I'm ready, but yeah, going somewhere great, Ye,
I'm going yeah, going to Sedona.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Wow, that sounds fun.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Thanks, I can feel the excitement anyway.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Yees.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Seventy percent of people say they mentally closed the work day.
I guess we're you didn't invite me. It's kind of
surprised to invite me along. That's I'm getting here to
run the show.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
That's right. One of this needs to be here.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
My way of telling you that I'll be gone. Okay,
so enjoy the show anyway. We're at eight seven, seven one,
nine eight one. It is the more, you know, we
do it every weekday morning here at six forty.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
And sounding more and more like you've already checked out, Carolyn.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
I was going to call it the brighter side, if
you want me to be honest, and it kind of
is a brighter side. Ah.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
All right, well, here are something we can all look
forward to you coming up this morning at at eight
point fifty. We're going to give you ninety eight minutes
of NonStop, commercial free, relaxing favorites. That's easy for us
to do and easy for you to enjoy.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Can we start the show over. I feel like we
need to reset.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Okay, that's fine, sure, all right, Sorry, Yeah, we're going
to do brain cheese again.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
No no, no, no, all right, we're going to be
commercial for you today. Fifty Here on the Breeze. It's
Carolyn and Court here on the Morning Breeze, loving shouting
out all these teachers in the Bay Area. It's Iheartradios.
Thank a teacher, and it's powered by donors choose. Today's
teacher of the Day is Mario Bobino, who teaches enrichment.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Yeah, and we're told that mister Mario apparently, I think
he teaches like av like video, very cool text type stuff. Yeah,
because the person who nominated him says, mister Mario taught
me everything I know about cameras today.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
I love, love, love this nomination. He is now in
the running to win five thousand dollars for his classroom.
And you can do the same for the favorite teacher
in your life, whether it's a teacher of yours, you're
a child's teacher, nominate them for our Teacher of the Day.
Ninety eight one The Breeze dot Com Welcome, It's Green Day.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Good morning the Breeze. Where are you calling us from.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
I'm listening from Chinasa and this is Alfonto. I'm just
getting down from work, coming back from San Francisco.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
So you work overnights?

Speaker 5 (07:55):
Yeah, we're working across from San Francisco aport.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Oh what do you do?

Speaker 5 (08:00):
We do painting, oil spreading.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Are you working on the freeways.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Yeah. We work every night from a Sunday through Thursday,
every single night across from San Francisco.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
We love it. We love what we do. You guys
are gonna have a nice freeway pretty soon.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
That's really cool.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Yeah, how did you get this job?

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Well, a long time ago, I just came to a
company in channels, knock on the door and they said
this is what you're gonna do. And I have no
clue until I was right on it in twenty twenty
four years later, it's like the first day. I love it.
I love what I do.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
There's really nothing better than loving the job that you
do every day, right court, right, No, I love my job.
Love it.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
Yeah, it's like it's like a dreams come true. I
love what I do.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
That is great.

Speaker 5 (08:47):
Thank you, Thank you. Listen to you guys every single day.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Well, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Yeah, and we never say this, but have a good morning, sleep.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
Thank you you guys, have a good rest of the day.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
For somebody that has just worked all night on a
freeway here in the Bay Area, to be that upbeat
and positive, that takes a special person and doing construction,
I know it's hard work. What a great call. Well,
thank you, Alfonso. We appreciate you sharing your brighter side
with us. And we're at eight seven seven nine eight
one oh nine eight one. If you have a brighter side,

(09:20):
and if you're somebody who works overnights and it's your
nighttime right now, or maybe you know somebody that works
a night time or an overnight job, we'd love to
hear from that person.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
I think it takes a very special person to be
able to do that. On the regular and like Alfonso,
he loves it.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
I know.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
And a reminder coming up this morning at seven twenty five,
another chance for you to ask us anything.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Yes, our phones are open. We are taking your questions.
You can also send us a message with our iHeartRadio
app and that talk back Mike. Any question on your
mind about anything the show, stuff happening in the world,
and the news that you just want our opinion on
whatever the life advice, Yeah, whatever the case may be.
We'd love to hear from you. At eight seven, seven, nine,

(10:02):
eight one, nine eight one. Ask us Anything. Coming up next,
Billy Joel at seven twenty six. Here on ninety eight
point one The Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Corden. It's that time of the show where we
basically turn it over to you. It's ask us Anything.
For those of you familiar with Reddit, which is that
online forum they do the ask Me Anything. We take

(10:23):
it a step further and do ask us Anything, and
we do it live on the radio. Yes, I love it.
We got an email from Monica in Redwood City who
said she's been listening to the Breeze ever since The
Breeze has been in existence, which has been a long
time now. I think we're coming up on We're okay.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
It's over nine, it's almost ten weeks, almost ten.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Years on the breeze. Great, Oh I remember the first
day anyway, Monica says she's been listening since the very beginning,
so thank you. And she wanted to know, what is
the one song that we never get tired of hearing
on the Breeze. Well, first of all, get tired of
any of these songs. Sure, love all the music.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
I actually alluded to this a little bit yesterday. If
you were listening when we were playing the cars, the
song Drive, Oh, that song, I just love everything about it.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
That's such a good grab. I love that song too. Well,
that's it never gets sick of a good call on
that song.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
What about for you?

Speaker 2 (11:18):
I think, Mmm, mine's a toss up. Okay, for sure,
Tears for Fears Everybody Wants to Rule the World. Sure,
probably my favorite song of all time. But the other
song that I never get tired of hearing on the
Breeze is Juice Newton Angel of the Morning. Oh yeah,
I love that song. Great song, Like if I'm driving
in my car listening to the Breeze on the way

(11:38):
home or whatever, and that song comes on, I am
turning it up just like you guys do.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
So do we get to choose two? Do I could
have another one?

Speaker 2 (11:44):
I don't know. I took too because I can just Oh,
what's your other one? So you know how much I
love Peter Setara's Oh Glory. I love yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
And I cannot tell you how excited I was when
I got to come and work here at the Breeze
and realize that I get to play that song. That's cute, yes,
because that was my favorite song when that came out,
which was.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Such a good forty years ago. I know, it's such
a good song. I love all the songs we just named,
like every song on the Breeze is so great, Like
we got Bonnie Tyler coming up and ID Sharon and
Dan Hartman like good stuff on the way. So thanks,
it is ask us anything. We do it every weekday
morning at seven twenty five. Keep your questions coming, Monica,
that was a great one. You can email us, You
can send us a direct message or call us eight

(12:27):
seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one, or.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
You can send us a talkback. Because it is a
Talkback Tuesday. So while you're streaming The Breeze on our
free iHeartRadio app, just look for that red microphone button,
click it, leave, leave your message, It'll come here to
the studio.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
It's Richard Marx eight eight. Good morning, It's the Morning
Breeze with Carolyn and Court. So you were mentioning that
you might be changing your name.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Well, I'm experimenting with it a little bit, but and
not necessarily full time, but we're gonna see how it goes.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Why would you ever do that?

Speaker 1 (12:57):
So, as you know, my name is court right, That's
that's my real name. It's short for Courtney. And when
you go places like fast casual restaurants and they take
your name, or you're at the Starbucks and they take
your name and they fill out, they say, what's your
name so they can put it out on the thing.
When I say Court, a lot of times I have
to spell it for them or say it multiple times

(13:18):
because they hear Court but they I think they actually
hear Corey oh or Cord. Yeah, they don't. They never
get it right. Yeah, not that it really matters because
that's just I'm just ordering food. But I would like
them to get my name right, So I've started recently,
I just give them a random name, but everybody does.
My name's Bob. So I was over the weekend this

(13:40):
past weekend. I was ordering some chicken, and they asked
me what my name was, and I'm like, I'm gonna
give them my middle name, which is Joe Joe. But
when I went to say, I said Joey and it
felt good and exciting but also very devious because my
name is not Joey. And when the guy called out

(14:01):
my name Joey when my chicken was ready, I looked around.
Did you were you.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Worried that somebody thought you were lying and you were
about to get caught?

Speaker 1 (14:09):
It is exactly what I thought.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Oh funny, because it is still technically your name Joe.
You could go by Joey. But you're not going to
change your name here on air, right, You're just changing
your name for fast food orders, just for.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Fast food orders. But I again, it's kind of the
little I'm just going to test it there because if
I if I like it, though, maybe.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Okay, Carolyn and Joey. You may no, I don't. I
think I like Carolyn and court all right, but I
will say do I look like a Joey. No, you
could pass for Joey. Do I look like a joe
Why are we having this conversation? I feel like you
need to stay Court like you're you're such a court
Oh Court say, Oh Joey.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Doesn't feel right. Should as much.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
I will tell you that women a lot of us,
especially in our younger years, when we would go out
to clubs or bars or whatever, we'd have a go
to name.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Oh, you wouldn't give people your real name.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
No, sometimes you just don't want people to know your name,
so I'd be like, oh, my name's Jennifer. And finally
you get comfortable with the lie. Okay, And that's what's
going to happen to you with your fast food or
your club if you will is you're going to go
out and tell everybody your name is Joey. You need
to do it multiple times. You'll be fine yours.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
You are changing your name for your safety and security
while going out. I, on the other hand, and just
doing it because I don't like being called Cory. Yes,
and it's for fast food purposes.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
You can do it for fast food purposes, but I
would love for you to keep your name as Court
on the air here on the breeze.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Do you have a do you when you go to
a fast food plate? Do you give your regular name?

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Now?

Speaker 1 (15:38):
When you go to be Carolyn the Starbucks?

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Yeah, And I don't go to fast food places that
much except for Jack in the Box for their tacos.
They're not asking for your name most of the time, No,
but Starbucks, but they get it off your app. So yeah,
I'm good with Carolyn Carol. Sometimes they call me Caroline,
sometimes I get Carol. But as long as I get
my order right, you can call me whatever.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
See, maybe I'm overthinking this.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
I think maybe that might be there's a good ship anyway.
We're at eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. We're going to keep you as a court
on the radio. Sorry, So what you do outside of
the radio station is up to you.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
My business.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
You can send us a message with our iHeartRadio app
as well the talk back mic and a reminder coming
up later this hour eight point fifty, we're going to
give you ninety eight minutes of NonStop commercial, free, relaxing favorites.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Perfect way to kick off your workday, it

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Sure is, and we will get that started right at
eight fifty here on the breeze,
