Think of it like that pop quiz that your teacher
used to always like surprise you with, even though we
do it every weekday morning at this time and everybody knows,
so it's not a surprise. Okay, think of it as.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Uh, if I can hit the rewind button for you,
I would, but I can't.

I stand by it pop quiz. Okay, I'm stricken by it.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Some health experts say, if you eat this rather strange
thing before you go to bed, you can fall asleep faster.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
We have determined the word thing in there to me
is tricky, so we've determined to it's a food, right.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Well, if you're if you're eating it, it has to
be it.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I know what you're saying, but the way you phrased
it is thing. Why wouldn't you have said, if you
eat this strange food.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
I just hope that experts say, if you eat this
rather strange food before you go to bed, thank you,
it can help you fall asleep faster.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Okay? Eight seven seven nine, eight one oh nine eight one.
Angeline and Valeo, good morning, Happy Friday. What is your guess?
Oat milk, oatmeil, oatmeal? Interesting guess? Why would you say oatmeal?
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Oatmeal?
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Do you eat oatmeal before you go to bed.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Once in a while?
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Yes, Oatmeal is like a hug.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
It's like a warm hug.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
It's like a food hug in your belly.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
Yes, it's milk or something like that.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, great logic, but it's actually not the correct answer.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Oh, Angelne Okay, thank you. Okay. Sandra in Richmond, good morning.
What is your guest this morning? I wouldn't eat a
banana before because I feel like the potassium I kneed
from the banana I need to keep my muscles moving
to absorbable.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
I have to admit something last night, I was starving
as I was going to bed, and I looked on
the counter and there was a banana sitting there.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Did you eat it?
Speaker 2 (02:14):
I did not eat it. I was like seconds away
from just eating it.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
We had similar problems last night. I was not hungry
before bed, but thought what could I eat? And there
was a piece of Sea's candy, specifically a Scotch mollow
in my cabinet, and boy, you guys, I had to
play some mind games to get through that moment.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Oh, you didn't need it.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Now I had to go brush my teeth.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
We were both strong.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Yeah, that was That was tough. Though tonight different story.
We'll see.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yeah. I feel like once you hear the answer, it's
going to be a banana is going to sound delicious.
The correct answer. If you eat a raw onion before
you go to bed, according to experts, it will help
you fall asleep faster.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
If you eat a raw, raw onion, Oh, that'll never
happen for me because I'm allergic to him. Now major pass.
I just go to like the onion and toothpaste combination
because you always brush your teeth, then you've got onion
taste in there. Can you imagine waking up with not
just morning bread, but onion morning bread. No, all right, Sandra,
(03:20):
have a good day, you two guys, Thanks for listening. Okay,
bye bye. I guess what I'm trying to figure out
is who in the right mind right before bed says
you know what I need right now?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I'm raw onion.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
My best friend Steve growing up. I don't talk about
Steve a lot, Okay, but Steve, his dad would sit
in the in the house and he would eat like
an onion with cheese on it, a raw onion. He'd
melt cheese onto the top of it. Yeah, and he
would just kind of eat it like an apple. Is
Steve still alive? Yeah, Steve's still right.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Wow. That is disgusting.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I don't know about I don't know about his dad
that would do this, but.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
He eats an onion with cheese on it. Yeah, yeah,
like he just bites into it.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
I'm sure he just slept like a baby.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
That is so gross. I can't even imagine how rank
that is. Your whole bedroom's going to stay well in What's.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
What's even interesting? As we were wrapping up there with Sandra,
is I remembered when my wife and I had our
first bat with COVID so what four or five years ago? Oh,
it changed our taste buds in such a way. Were
toothpaste tasted like onions?
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Oh that's so weird. Remember that everything was.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Everything was all everything that was just wonky, Like we'd
brush our teeth at night and just be gagging a
little bit. It was gross.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
That's fun. Welcome to the Morning Breeze. Happy for very breezy. Wow,
this took a real turn. I did not see coming.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
My apologies.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
We're at eight seven seven nine eight one, nine eight one.
Invite you to join us later on this morning. As
we do every weekday morning, to get your work day started,
we go commercial free yep.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Ninety eight minutes of non stop, commercial free, relaxing favorites,
and we'll kick that off at eight fifty here on
the Morning Breeze.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
A perfectly.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
So we gray at six forty two here on ninety
eight point one the Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court and let's just hop right into it. Huh. Yes,
it's time for the more you know love it.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
So a couple of minutes ago on the Morning Breeze
Brain tease. You had brought the question this morning.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Some health experts say if you eat raw onion before
going to bed, it'll help you fall asleep faster.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Now it's time for the More you Know, and we've
got Lawrence in Livermore who actually has a fact for
us off of the brain tease.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Good morning, Lawrence, Good morning. I like that over station.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
That was funny. Huh.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
But did you know that if you'll eat twenty five
or thirty pieces of cherries you'll get to sleep well
at night?
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Oh? Cherries, So if you eat twenty five to thirty
cherries before going to sleep, you sleep better because that's
that's the number one proof with a lot of melatonin
on it.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
I didn't know cherries had melotonin.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
That's where they get the melotonin.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Oh, they do from cherries.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Yeah, it's the highest melaton.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Well, I did not know the question, Lawrence on this one.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
That sounds legit. I just think if you eat too
many cherries could lead to.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Other issues, that's what Yeah, well, that's why I was
a little nervous about eating a lot of cherries before bed. Right,
it's going to be a good tip. Well, Lawrence, thank
you for bringing the more you know to us today,
we appreciate that. We appreciate that for sure, we are
check the box educated.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Yep, all right, thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
You have a great thing too, and happy Friday. Happy Friday,
Lace bye bye. The more you know, we do it
every weekday morning at six forty and since this is
the first time court that a listener has brought us
the more you know, usually we bring it to our listeners.
I'm here to say on this Friday morning, We're all
for it. Yeah, if you've got a fact that you're like,
(07:01):
I need to share this with the morning breeze or
I want the Bay Area to know this fact, bring us.
The more you know, we kind.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Of did this on the fly because this is the
first time we've ever done that with Lawrence, right, So
I didn't I attempted to fact check Lawrence, and then
I just gave up. So I feel like maybe in
the future we probably should do our due diligence and
make sure that we're spreading accurate information. Not that I'm
saying Lawrence is wrong. I'm just saying, like Lawrence was right,
I would just worry about you know, some non facts
(07:29):
creeping in. Okay, you're staring at me.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
As if I've shared this was a conversation for off
the right.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Okay, now I thought this was a team meeting, right now.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
I trust Lawrence, Lawrence, I support you. Good job a
team meeting. We're at eight seven seven nine eight one.
Reach us anytime with that phone number, and you can
always send us a message with our iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
YEP. Super easy to do while you're streaming The Breeze.
Just look for the red microphone button, click it, leave
your message. It'll show up here in the studio.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
It's Huey Lewis and the News. It's seven six, Happy
Friday morning to you, Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
It is Friday morning, and that means we are going
to be revealing right now our Morning Breeze Person of
the Week. And I don't know what was in the
water this week, Court, but we received so many great nominations.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
It makes it so hard to choose.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
It was really difficult to choose, but I really like
our choice. And we say this every time, but I'll
say it again in case you haven't heard us mention this.
If you have nominated somebody for the Morning Breeze Person
of the week, and we are not choosing that person
for this week. Your nomination is still in our in
our system, like we hang on to it. Yeah, it
(08:39):
will just be doing it. You very well may get
a phone call next week. But this week for our
Morning Breeze Person of the Week, it's Nanata, who nominated
her mom, Sophia.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah, and we've got Ranata on the phone. Ranata, tell
us about your mom.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
Oh my gosh, she is just like she's seventy three
and she has so much energy, and she participates in
so many different programs for theater and kids and churches
and just like, I don't know how she does it,
and she's just an inspiration. So I heard about this
and I wanted to nominate her because how she beautifies
(09:14):
the world basically and involves children in it, and she
just children how to participate in theater and arts. She
belongs to three different churches and she participates in the
theater programs in all three of them.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
And like you said, she's doing all of this as
a seventy two year old with so much energy.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Three yeah, yeah, this sounds exhausting.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
She also has a full garden in her house that
she packs her because she loves plants and she loves
nature and she just said it, Hiken, So.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
My god, why not the mix? Why can you tell
from your energy that you obviously get a lot of
your energy from your mom.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
I think that would be true.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Yes, yeah, we're vibing on it.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Well, can we put you on hold and try to
reach her? Is she free?
Speaker 4 (10:06):
Like?
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Do you think we could get her if we reached out?
Speaker 4 (10:09):
You can try to reach her.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Okay, we're not We're going to give it a quick try.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Okay, sounds good.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Hello, Hi, Sophia. Yeah, Sophia, this is Carolyn and Cord
from ninety eight point one The Breeze. How are you?
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Oh? Wow, so expected.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Well, we have one more person on the phone with us.
We also have Renata on the phone, the only Ranana.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
They're calling because I nominated you for a Person of
the week because you do so much for the community
and I thought that it would be great to recognize that.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Yeah, Renata told us about all the great stuff that
you do, how you're giving so much time and energy
to make the community beautiful, all the work you do
with the church, leading the theater program, all.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
The things as arts productions.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Yeah, we wanted to call and recognize you and just
thank you for being such a staple and a pillar
for the Bay Area.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Oh, thank you so much. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
It makes me even here.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
I think the neatest thing here is that your daughter
sees how much you do and wants to take the
time to say, hey, everybody, look at my mom. She's
pretty awesome. Like I love that, Renata, that you recognize
that in your.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Mom, pretty awesome.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Ranada also pointed out that you never treat yourself, Sophia,
maybe some time for yourself. So that's where we're going
to step in and do it for you and send
you out on a city cruise's brunch cruise. Wow, that's
the proper response right there.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
My mom's birthday is coming up just in a few days,
so this is like a birthday present.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Thank you for the birthday. Thank you so much. Guy,
You're welcome. Well, thank you for all the great stuff
you do for so many people in the Bay Area.
It's really awesome. And Renatda, you're so sweet for nominating her.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Thank you, thank you, thank you all right, at you guys,
say thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
If there is somebody like Sophia in your life, and
I'm sure there is. Yes, you can nominate them as
well for the Morning Breeze Person of the Week.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yeah, be thinking over the weekend, maybe even about who
that person is. Get your nomination into US ninety eight
one The Breeze dot com.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Pat Benatar at seven twenty eight Here on ninety eight
point one The Breeze. You've got the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court, and it's that time of the show
where we turn it over to you with your questions.
We call it ask Us Anything, and it's your chance
to call in whether you've got a question specifically for
Carolyn or myself, or maybe it's just a general question
about life. Yeah, that's kind of what today's ask Us
(13:03):
Anything is.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Court. It's an email that I got from Tyson in
San Jose who says he loves the show. He listens
every morning on his way to work. Tyson, thank you.
He wants to know what we think about the new
feature on Instagram with the location sharing. You've come to
the two hip as people in the Bay area, Tyson,
So you're doing something right today.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
I actually didn't know about this feature until we got
the message from Tyson.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
I knew about it, but only for one day, and
I barely paid attention to it.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
My understanding of this, though, is it's similar to what
Monny chad, what is it called?
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Oh, find my phone?
Speaker 2 (13:41):
It's kind of it's similar to find my phone. But
there's a what's it called snapchat? H Snapchat has had
this feature four years? It has which is basically, if
you're friends with somebody on Snapchat, if you follow each other, yeah,
and you allow it, they can see where you are
at all times. Oh.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
I've never used the Snapchat before, so I was aware
of that. Kids just call it the snap Oh they do.
I'll just call it snap I definitely will not be
calling it both.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Both of my daughters have used Snapchat for years and
they look up if they want to find out where
their friends are, they look at Snapchat.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Oh that's so crazy to me. See. Okay, So here's
how I'm an answer Tyson's question. What do we think
about the new feature on Instagram with location sharing? I
do the find my phone with you and one other friend.
That's it.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah. So I feel like when that's just phone to
phone right now, when you go onto the internet something
like Instagram, I just don't like opening that option up
on the Internet. Sure, and sure somebody could hack into
my phone and find my location. Sure, But am I
telling people to do that?
Speaker 2 (14:43):
No, I'm not.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
But but on Instagram, I just feel like it's even
it's a broader audience.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
It's the whole Internet, and I'm sure me not a fan,
and I'm sure you can select who you're sharing it
with and who you're not. I would suppose it's the.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Internet though it's hackable. So what do you think.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I'm not going to do it? I will, I will
do it. I'm just it's it's crazy to me that
they think this is a feature people want. They obviously
know it is. I think the kids will use it.
I think the kids will use it. It's goes back
to the stat chat. Yeah, but yeah, not for me.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
So Tyson, good question, though, I'm wondering how other people
feel about this. Is there something that we have not
mentioned in this conversation that you're listening You're like, why
are you not bringing this up? I would love to
learn along with you, So call us at eight seven
seven one, nine eight one, or send us a talk
back with our iHeart radio app.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Yeah, easy to do you stream the breeze look for
that red microphone button. Click it, leave your message, It'll
come here to the studio.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
It's the Morning Breeze. It's Carolyn and Cord and it's
iHeart Radios. Thank a Teacher. It's powered by donors. Choose
today's teacher the Day Cord on this Friday is Kimberly
Toller with Bellevue Elementary School in Santa Rosa.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Yeah, we're told that missus Toller is passionate about her
kids and their learning. She's enthusiastic and empowers her children
to learn to be excited about learning.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Ms Toller, you are now in the running for five
thousand dollars for your classroom, and you can help us
say thank you to the educators shaping our future.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Made it super easy. Nominate your favorite teacher right now
at ninety eight one Breeze dot Com.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Some would say Span Dow Ballet and some would say
Span New Ballet.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
What do you say?
Speaker 1 (16:23):
I'm not sure. I'm gonna say Spandal Ballet. Okay, a
SPA and dau It feels right, Okay, Spandal Ballet. Morning Breeze,
Carolyn and Court, It's eighth nine. Happy Friday morning to you.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
First of all, Carolyn, I want to start by saying,
this is a safe space. You're mongst friends. Uh, we
got to talk about your texting and specifically when you
decide to unsend a tack.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Oh, come on, come, I know now what you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Court yesterday. I know it's two days ago. There was
a text conversation going on between you, me and Marhelia,
who works here at the Breeze with us. Yeah, and
we were talking about this and that, and then out
of nowhere comes this text from Carolyn that says yes,
ha ha. And then and then almost immediately afterwards, it says, oh, sorry,
(17:19):
wrong thread.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
I did type that, Yes, so great texting two people.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
These things happen all the time.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
But then maybe thirty seconds after that, suddenly those texts disappear. Yeah,
because them because iPhones up maybe androids have the same function,
you can unsend texts.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
I realized I had made a mistake and I should
unsend it to not bother you guys.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
However, now what's left in that text thread is the
little message from Apple that says Carolyn deleted a text.
So there's two of those there.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Which I didn't know that, which is even worse and
just letting it go. First of all, thank you so
much for bringing this up on the air. I am
not the best text my friend Kira, bless her heart,
She will say, Carolyn, I need a translator to read
your text because they always have typos because I'm always
voice texting and on the go and zinging and zagging.
(18:20):
And then there were mistakes. In the case of two
days ago, I think I was texting Kira and she
was the one I said ha ha to or whatever
I said it was yes, ha ha ha yes, and
then I accidentally sent it to you and Marhelia, and
then I felt bad that I had screwed up with
you and Marhleia, and I wanted to like clean up
that text so you weren't bothered by it. And then
you two yahoos had to write back to make fun
(18:42):
of me for unsending.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
I just think you do. You sent the errants text,
then then you said sorry wrong thread. You could have
just been I'm good and and to you Carolin, I
would say, just let it be.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
I just wanted to clean it up, yeah, but just
make it. I didn't know you see it.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
This isn't a homework assignment. It's like when people go
in and fix spelling on texts. It's just like I
do that. I know you do. That's why I'm bringing
this up in a safe space. You don't need to.
It's a text. You're on the fly, nobody's judging you,
and you're you and your intelligence based on a text
that you're sending.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
I have a lot of errors in my text. Again,
I go back to the fact that I am zigging
and zagging. But there's a lot happening.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
But again, then then what makes it worse is that
you unsend it and it leaves that message. Carolyn deleted
a text, and so if I had not seen what
you had sent, I would be sitting there thinking what
did Carolyn just send to me and then delete? So
then then my day is ruined.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Court Oh wow, Okay, this is a lot to take in. Yeah,
I did not see this coming. I feel like this
is an intervention of sorts with my texting. I'm going
to need some time to review this. Thank goodness. This
is a Friday. You and I need to go our
separate ways for the weekend. I'm in I think spend
some time alone. I'm going to think about it. We'll
reconvene Monday. And we'll figure out how we're gonna But I.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Think everybody can learn from this. I think we over
emphasize are the way we present ourselves in texts when
it's it's just casual talk.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Okay, Professor sank words wrong work here is done. Send
an error texter to We're at eight seven one nine
eight one. You can send us a message with our
iHeart radio app. You know what's great about that? You
speak into it.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yes, no room for error, and if you do mess up,
just in case, you can start redo it and start again.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Yeah. No, texting that pretty great. Yeah, use that microphone
button next to the play button on our app. We're
back in a second. The Breeze. It's the morning Breeze.
It's Carolyn and Court. So Court is trying to do
sort of an intervention on my texting skills, my typos,
my unsending of texts, Like you're basically saying I'm not
a good text I.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Think we just all need to collectively know texts don't
count when it comes to this thing. It's okay, it's
not it's horrid form communication.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
No.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
My friend Kira literally is like, I need a roadmap
to decipher your text. Sometimes it takes her forever to
figure out what I'm trying to say because I never
preview them. Because that's the other thing. I can't see
anything because I'm not wearing my peepers half the time.
Michael in San Francisco, good morning.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
I hear you. Sometimes I'll use the talk to text,
and then every once in a while, I'm like, but
it's like an auto
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Correct sale of epic proportions, and I'm like, oh my god.
