Today's question. According to research, people who do this first
thing in the morning report better memory and focus throughout
the day.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Eight seven seven nine one nine eight one. That's how
you reach us with your guesses. Of course, you have
the option to use our iHeartRadio app. That's another way
to get your guesses in. With that talkback mic. We've
got Sarah in Pleasant Hill holding Sarah, what is your
guest this morning? Think water?

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Water?

Speaker 3 (00:52):
I have heard that's good. We work with a guy
who drinks thirty two ounces of water by six am.
Oh really, yeah, that seems excessive. My wife, she's pretty
diligent about this. She first thing she does in the
morning is drinks. I don't know, it's not thirty two ounces,
but it's like eight ounces of water.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
First thing for walk, go for a walk.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
We're going for a walk, exercise.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Sarah's like trying to work it out.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
She's like, okay, well you're you're Yeah. I love I
love the effort. It's just not correct.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
All right, Thank you, Sarah, Thank you for listening.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yes, yes, I'll be listening more.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
All right, thank you, Thank you so much. We really
appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Okay, Benjamin in San Francisco. What do you think the
answer is drinking coffee? Drinking coffee? Why do you say that?
I guess my wife always drink in the morning and
a coffee, and we've just become just awesome, just just awesome,
better version of us. She's she's got better memory, better focus,
I think.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
So, yeah, yeah, I can say that.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Well, guess what, Benjamin, Uh, you are ninety nine percent correct?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Is he really? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:55):
The correct answer is according to research, people who smell
coffee without even drinking any report O madness.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Wow, he was Benjamin. You pretty much got it.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
And let's be honest, you can't really drink coffee.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Yeah, she's just wondering drinking coffee, spelling coffee.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Next thing I know she's she's like good boot.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I think you study your wife's coffee habits. First she
smells it, then she drinks it.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
A good day.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
I'm on my way away, you know. I listen to
you guys every morning.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
I'm going to like you guys are awesome.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
You know, I just want to thank you guys.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Oh my gosh, Well we owe you the thank you.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
We appreciate you listening, so we hope you have a
great day and a good weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Thank you, guys.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
You know, I was thinking about this while we were
talking to Benjamin that I know your coffee habits. I
know that you come in and you make a cup
when you get here, and then you bring it in here,
and it takes you till about seven o'clock, and then
at seven o'clock you go out and you make your
next copy of coffee, and it takes.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
You the rest of the morning to finish it.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Sure, and sometimes you bring your creamer in a bag,
but that's a whole separate topic.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
And by that I mean a ziplock.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
You've nailed it. That's exactly my coffee out. Sometimes it
bring my creamer in a bag.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Yep, there it is. And that is the Morning Breeze
brain Teas every weekday morning. We hope you can join
us and play along at six twenty.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
I wonder what Ed Sheeron's coffee habits are.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I can promise you this much.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
I don't think that Ed Sheeron transports his coffee creamer
around in a bag.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
You don't know that. I'll know that for sure. Imagine
that he doesn't. Here's what we do know.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Ed Cheron's going to be at Levi Stadium July twenty fifth,
and we have a stack of tickets that we would
love to hand off to somebody.

Speaker 3 (03:40):

What is the worst gift you ever received? It a
Christmas The worst gift you ever received?

Speaker 2 (04:39):
In Christmas? Boy, I was not prepared for that one.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
When I look back at it, it was not the
worst gift. But I remember one year I got a
blanket from my parents. My mom made it. She actually
it was a quilt, and my reaction was not very kind,
and to this day I feel bad. Yeah. So, so
it wasn't the worst gift, but my reaction was the worst.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
I got a T shirt from my parents when I
was young and it said I Thrive on stress and
I'm like, I'm not wearing this and I felt bad
because they had given this to me, and I'm sure
they thought it was funny, but I just was like,
I'm not gonna wear a shirt like that.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
It's actually kind of true though, what.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Lawrence, how about you?

Speaker 3 (05:25):
They gave me the.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Champagne bottle of champagne. Lawrence, did I give you that gift?
Because I've been known to do that to people?

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Bottom bottom bottom bottom, bottom shot bottom bottom, great question.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
All right, thanks Lawrence, Happy holidays.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
I'm sure that if I were to think about this
a little longer, I may come up with, like, you know,
an actual true.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Better worst gift, better gift, better worst gift.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
But that's the I just my behavior was.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
I know you're clearly still feel bad about it.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I was also I was fifteen years old, so give
me a break.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
I didn't say anything. I just said, you still feel
bad at it?

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Talking to myself.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Okay, Well, if we have any therapists out in the audience,
we're at eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one, but you can use that number for anything.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Please, including your questions for ask us anything.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Yeah, and coming up eight oh five, make sure you're here.
We have more tickets for you to go see Ed Sheeran.
It's fun, you know, when it's so cold outside and
kind of dreary. It's really fun to think about summer
yeah next year, and how great the weather will be
at Levi Stadium on July twenty fifth, when Ed is there.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
It's gonna be pretty great. And as you mentioned, we're
giving these tickets away three times a day, So eight
oh five, ten oh five, four oh five your chance
to win. Today Here on the Breeze.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
It's Kim Carnes with a relaxing favorite for your Friday morning.
And when we say relaxing favorite, emphasis on the word
favorite when.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
It comes to that song.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
And by the way, if you're curious to know if
Carolyn has the clap rhythm down for that song, the
answer is yes, of course she does. She was nailing it.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
That was enjoyable. That's a great song.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Seven O seven o eight Morning Breeze Carolyn and Courtney
was seven o seven.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
It just changed.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and court Every Friday morning, just
after seven o'clock we announce our newest Morning Breeze Person
of the Week, and we are so happy to say
that this week Dora nominated her daughter Anna.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Yeah, Dora sent a very lovely letter nominating her daughter
Anna for a lot of different reasons, but one that
really kind of tugged at your heart strings and mine.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
As well, Yeah, is the stray cats. Like Anna has
taken in five stray cats in the neighborhood, and she
feeds them and gets.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Them checked at the vet and all the things.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
And the part that I love the most when we
were talking to Dora is that she said, when Anna
comes home from work every day, these cats see her
car coming, Yeah, and they all conglomerate in the driveway
or on the porch. They know what's up, waiting for
her to come in and feed them and spend time
with them.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Like.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Yeah, She's just such a great soul. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Dora describes Anna as being carrying, selfless and full of heart.
She says she never complains about the cost or effort
of something that she's doing purely out of love, and
pointing out that she's spending at least one hundred dollars
a month on dry and wet food. Yeah, and also
making sure that these cats are well nourished and healthy.
So she's making sure that the vet's taking a look
at them.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
You know who else not to take away from Anna,
because Anna, You're awesome, But I have to give a
nod right now, and I hope she's listening. Sylvia Checone,
who works mid days here, takes in stray cats as well. Yeah,
And when I tell you that, woman, like I could
cry thinking about what a great human being Sylvia is.
She takes in stray cats all the time, to the
point where like she's almost bottle feeding these cats in

(08:45):
her house, in her garage and making sure they're safe
and well fed and getting surgeries done for these cats.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
She's incredible. But Anna, this is about you.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Yeah, And it's great that we have people like Anna
and Sylvia in neighborhoods to take care of these these
nahborhood cats because without those people, they'd be probably getting
into a lot of trouble.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
And unfortunately for Sylvia, she does not qualify for the
City Cruises because she works here. But Anna, we're going
to give that to you. You deserve it. So congratulations,
you are our Morning Breeze person of the week. We're
going to send you out on the Bay to enjoy
a cruz courtesy of City Cruises.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Exactly right. And if there's an Anna in your life,
we would love to hear from you. You can nominate
them for the next Morning Breeze Person of the Week
on our website at ninety eight one The Breeze dot com.
It's Fleetwood Mackett seven twenty eight Here on ninety eight
point one The Breeze. And while they talk about little lies, Carolyn,
we're about to talk about little truths.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Yes, sir.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
It's called The More You Know, and it's sponsored by
the San Francisco Symphony.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
So they've come out with this list of the top
questions that we've asked our smart speakers throughout twenty twenty five.
We're talking everybody, all of us collectively. What are the
top questions that have been asked? If are smart speakers?
And I think you're going to be surprised with some
of these. Now, I will say, there is the obvious
celebrities and their spouses.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
I've to possibly who is so and so married to? Yes,
all that stuff.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Wait, we'll get such and such a person. Die, get
that out of the way.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Yes, Now, how many tea spoons are in a cup?
That's that's the number one question. Are you going to
keep guessing into? Oh?

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Is it really?

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Yeah, I'm not surprised by that you have three women
in your house? Okay, uh. Other than that, what's the
diameter of earth? Isn't that so random that so many
people are asking that question that to their smart speaker?
Followed up by what does AI stand for? Okay, so

(10:44):
many things in my brain. I want to say out
loud the top thing that we have asked our smart speakers.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
How do you poach an egg? How do you poach
an egg? Do you know how to poach an egg?
I sure do, I'm really good at it.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Really, how do you poach an egg?

Speaker 1 (10:59):
So? The key here is you got to add some
vinegar to that water. Oh and you don't you bring
that water up to not a boil, but kind of
a simmer. Okay, if it boils, it's going to cook
too fast. Do you cook a poached egg and water?

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Okay, I don't. Clearly I need to hit my smart speaker.
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
I don't cook the poaching part. You can poach egg,
you can poach chicken, You can poach a lot of things.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Boiled chicken is people.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
People do it for a lot of different reasons. Anyway, Okay,
bring it up to that simmer. We've got the vinegar
in there with your little whiskey it or you can
do it for K orsoh and you kind of create
a whirl like a whirlpool. Oh, swirl it around before
you add your egg, which, by the way, the egg,
you should never crack it directly into it. You should
crack that into a small bowl and then just ease
it in. I had no idea that you were such

(11:45):
a chef. Yeah, it'll swirl around, it'll the vinegar from
the vinegar that's in there will help also kind of
keep everything together.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Okay, Chef's kiss everybody that is listening right now, you
no longer have to go to your smart speaker to
out get how to poach an egg because you just
heard it from one Court Johnson.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
It's more, you know, every weekday morning, it's seven twenty
five here on the Breeze, and we are getting closer
and closer to your chance to win those Ed Shearon tickets.

Speaker 1 (12:13):

Speaker 2 (12:37):

Speaker 1 (13:04):
You can also enter to win by following us on Instagram.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
That is true.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
We have an option for you there as well, at
ninety eight one of the Breeze on Instagram. Up on
that while they can so, Carolyn this morning feeling like
a bit of a dummy. In fact, I've been feeling
like a dummy for about twenty four hours now.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Of course, yesterday I made a shocking discovery. In my neighborhood.
There's this little corner corner market where I like to
go in. Sometimes I buy a candy bar, but most
of the time I go in there and I buy.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
My scratchersk Oh. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Sometimes if the lottery gets big enough, I'll go and
buy a lotto tickets. Sure, so I try to I
make small talk. I'm in there enough where I see
the same guy every single time, Like I should be
friendly with him. He's in my neighborhood, he probably lives
in the neighborhood. But I always get the weirdest reactions
from him because I always try to call back a
previous conversation and he just looks at me confused. Oh

(13:57):
you know where I'm going with this. Yeah, yesterday, walking
home from work, approaching the store and standing outside is
not one of these guys, but two. Apparently it's either
twins or brothers that look exactly alike, or it's a
father something. I've been having conversations with two different people
thinking that it was the same person.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
That is hilarious.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Z Like I was going there and I'm like, hey,
I'm back, and the guy will just look at me like,
what are you talking about.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
So when you approach these two guys, did one of
them act like he knew you?

Speaker 1 (14:30):
No, No, they both they were were they were busy
doing something. But I just sat there and stared at
them for the longest time. I'm like, holy cow, how
did I not realize these were two different guys?

Speaker 2 (14:41):
They look exactly the same.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
They've got to be brothers, either their brothers or maybe
the twins. Yeah, because they look that would make them brothers.
I know, I know, but like, but I've been even
more so like I have brothers, but we're not twins
right right right? But we look similar.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Oh that is funny.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Or it could be like a father's on combo because
like I just like, man, I feel like I need
to go look now, like, but I want to go look.
They are never in there at the same time. Until yesterday,
we're actually outside of the store.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Embarrassing. I would love to know what they said about
you when you walk by.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Someone there chopping it up with them all you're chopping
it out, You're chopping and no one's responding. I've been
trying to chop it up, and now it all makes sense.
I'm I'm trying to have these conversations with them again
with callbacks to previous conversations because one of one of them,
when you buy lottery tickets there, they have a little
Giants bobble head. They always rubbed the ticket on it.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Which I thought was really cool.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
So the time after I first witnessed that, I went
and bought a lottery ticket, you try to chop it
up with the bibble. I tried to, Well, he didn't
rub it on the bottlehad I'm like, we've got the brother,
let's go. I know, but it all makes sense.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
It all makes sense now, and I'm glad you worked
it out here in front of thousands of people. But
I'm sorry that happened to you. But that's a great story.
So thank you for Sherry.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
