Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
The Morning Breeze on demand.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Here's for Fear's at six point twenty one. Here on
ninety eight point one The Breeze. It's The Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Corden jumping right into our Morning Breeze
brain tease. It's sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in
Clean Hands with Mike Counsel Plumbing. Visit them at mc
plumbing dot com. Today's question Carolyn, Yes, sir. According to
Right research, when it comes to making decisions, you are
more likely to regret it if you are experiencing this

(00:28):
and this is a state.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Of being okay. Eight seven seven nine nine eight one.
Francis and Santa Clara, good morning, you're up. What do
you think grief?

Speaker 3 (00:39):
You really don't, because you can make decisions, and when
you're grieving, like let's say the loss of somebody or
in a relationship, you should at least really wait a
year because you make a decision and then you can
regret it. Right, I work in the funeral industry, and
you really shouldn't make major decisions.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
You work in the funeral industry. Oh that is that
explains your answer. I was like, wow, that's such a grab.
I was wondering how you came up with that. That
makes way more sense.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
I wonder if this is why my parents have actually
planned out their funerals and actually made all the arrangements
ahead of time, so that nobody has to make that
decision when one of them passes.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
That's the best gift they've ever given you. So right now,
I've done all aspects when someone's passed away, But now
my role is just to help families plan in advance.
That's what your parents did.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I also feel like you can, you know, you can
reach out to Francis separately and do a console. It
sounds like this just became a business call.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
I'm good, I'm good to go. My parents are good
to go. They even have their headstone already ready to go.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I am so happy. I'm happy for your parents. But again,
I want to circle us all back to the brain town.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Okay, well, let's get back. You're you're very thoughtful in
this choice, but it's not the correct one today.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Okay, Happy holidays by Francis.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
All right, Tony in Oakland, Good morning is your guest
for the brain Teas this morning.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
I'm gonna say it really silly answer, and I don't
even like it when I hear it coming out of
my mouth. Now, I don't even like you want to
hear it.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
What's the answer now? We really want to hear it.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
And it's like, if you're if you're in a state
of stress already, when you're making a big decision, a
lot of the time, a lot of things are surrounding
that decision can be stressful.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
It's a very logical answer.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
It is because the person before you guessed if you're grieving,
if you have grief in your life, so yours is
along those lines as well. That's not a silly answer
at all.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
I was like, I think Tony is onto something, but
it's not technically correct. Okay, I don't think you're wrong
in this case, You're just not right. Surprising, Tony's actually
more silly. According to research, when it comes to making
big decisions, you're more likely to regret it if you're
hungry while making those big decisions.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Why because you rush through it because you.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Just want to eat or what I don't combination all
of the above yet your blood.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Sugar level you can't pay with blugar or your stomach
is like you can't your over your well.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
I hear court stomach growling from time to time, only
occasionally the other day.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Oh it's just a pot calling the kettle black, Carolin.
Just yesterday, you're as growled as if it were a
wild Okay it did not.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Sorry, Tony, you have a wonderful day.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
See you.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
I see myself to.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Take care.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Bye.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
It's the Morning Breeze brain teas, and we do it
every weekday morning at six twenty here on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 2 (03:42):

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Imagine that. That's so great. A lot of marriages don't
last that long.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
They sure don't.

Speaker 1 (03:58):

What are they doing?

Speaker 2 (04:35):

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Are you may take care you too? Please expand a
little bit more on your daughter coming home. I know
Quinn's coming home from uh from college, but are you
guys having extended family like your mother and father in law,
just the four of you, just.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
The four of us. This this holiday.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Is that typical. I don't remember your every other Christmas
we get we get our in laws visiting. You get
you get to have we host them in our home,
get to experience the loveliness of them visiting.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
But so we either get them for Thanksgiving or Christmas
each year, and this year we got them for Thanksgiving. Okay,
And so.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Are you looking forward to having a little bit, just.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
A little casual. Oh yeah, I'm super excited to have
all four of us in the house. And H'm pretty
excited for not hosting. That's cool. We didn't ask you, Carolyn.
We were so rude, me and Luisa to not ask you.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
What are your plans for the I'm staying local. My
brother lives in Clayton, so Christmas Eve we've been in
years past, and I think this year too. We all
go over to his house and kind of do gifts
with the kids and do all that stuff. And Christmas
Day has become kind of a quiet day for us
because two of my brothers have kids, right, so they've

(06:27):
got the Christmas Morning stuff. One of my sister in law's,
her birthday is on Christmas, so they usually go to
her family. So I think Christmas this year will be
pretty quiet. But I'll go see my mom in the
morning and spend time with her and do all that.
So yeah, it'll be It'll be good.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Low key Christmases are almost the best kind of Christmas.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
I have to say, yes. By the way. Side note,
I've been seeing on social media like people take their
dogs now to look at Christmas lights the night before
and they make really cute videos. And I was thinking
maybe this year I would debut a perk going Christmas
light watching with me.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Do you think she would enjoy it?

Speaker 2 (07:02):
It sounds It sounded crazy the minute it came out
of my mouth.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
We took our dog Roscoe to see Santa Claus one
year and that was pretty he enjoy it, of course
he did.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Did Santa enjoy it?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Yes, Ah, it was pretty great. I don't know. I
don't think Charlie and Leo would be into it as much.
They would pee on Santa for sure. One percent, one
hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
All right, ask us anything every weekday morning here at
six forty. You can send us your questions anytime with
our iHeartRadio app, or give us a call eight seven, seven, nine,
eight one oh nine eight one.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
And coming up in an hour seven forty. It's another
chance for you to win those tickets to see Air Supply,
who are coming back to the Bay Area February thirteenth
at the San Jose Civic.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I wonder with them celebrating their fifty year anniversary if
they're just going to play extra, extra, awesome and long.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
They have so many.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Hits to get through, right, it's such a big library.
So yeah, be here at seven forty for your chance
to win a pair of tickets on the Breeze.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
It's Billy Joel at seven oh seven here on ninety
eight point won the Breeds the Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Cord in time. Now for the Brighter Side, sponsored
by Shriven Company, Luxury time Pieces, fine Designers and Flawless Diamonds.
The Brighter Side is pretty simple. You call us at
eight seven, seven, nine, eight one, nine eight one and
simply tell us what's good in your life, something that
brings a smile to your face or just makes you happy.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Yes, so we've got Willie in Brentwood Holdings. So I
know your brighter side is about your job.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
What do you do I work for the Food Bank
of contracosts Ancelano.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Oh, that is awesome.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
I'm actually headed to one of our food distributions in
North Richmond. The distribution of self starts at ten o'clock
and at this particular site, we'll probably see about three
hundred and fifty families will come through and receive nonperishable items,
fresh produce, protein, and dairy with no at no cost.

(08:53):
It's all free.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
It's got to be a pretty fulfilling job.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
Yeah, it is, absolutely, and it's very eye open, without
a doubt, to see need in our community. We've made
so much progress, but we've got a long way to go.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Yeah. Well, people like you Willie that are stepping up
and helping out, you're the ones that make the difference.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Yeah. Well, thank you. I appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
How long you've been doing it.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
I've been with fooving there for over eleven years.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
How did you get involved at first with them?

Speaker 5 (09:22):
Well, the truth is I am and was a single
father with a two year old boy and a five
year old girl, and I was receiving assistance from a
federal program that required that if you weren't working or
going to school, that you volunteer somewhere to be able

(09:43):
to meet these requirement to receive assistants. And so I
knew some people at the food bank, and I contacted
them and said, Hey, can I come in for a
couple of hours a week and they said sure. And
here we are eleven years later, and I've been employed
there for over a decade and now my kids are
thirteen and sixteen.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
That's really great, and what a great role model you
are for the for them.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
Yeah, and they've they've grown up knowing about giving them.
Of course, they have to find their path just like
all of us. But I know I've given them some
good things to shoot for, but you know, ultimately I
need to let them find their journey, right.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
That's the tough part as a parent, is finally letting
them go to figure that out on their own, because
you can't do it all.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Absolutely, Wow, Willy, that's incredible. Thank you for sharing that story.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
Yeah, you're welcome. Thank you guys.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Willy is making such a big difference in our community,
especially right now.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
I know, I was just thinking as he was talking,
like this time of year is a very hard time
of year for so many people, and it's a good
reminder to to donate to your local food bank volunteer
if you can. But that was a fantastic and very
timely brighter side, So Willy, thank you, and if you've
got a brighter side for us eight seven seven nine
eight one oh nine eight one, it's Taylor Dane seven

(10:59):
twenty seven. Good morning. It is the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Cord. It is time for the More You
Know with Court Johnson, and it's sponsored by the San
Francisco Symphony. And you're making this sound so I'm really
so formal building this up. Yeah, So as I tease you,
a new travel trend among youth, and I don't think

(11:21):
that you would be on board for this. It's traveling
with complete strangers. This is a trend. Okay, A trip
with a stranger may sound well strange, right, but more
and more young people are doing this and they're loving it.
I kind of like it actually.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
And this is not going on a trip by yourself
and just randomly meeting a stranger and then just saying hey,
let's go here tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
That was my question is where are you meeting these people?
Climbing ahead through a website or an app I'm basically saying, hey,
I want to go to this place. Anybody want to
come with me? And Joe Blow says yes, I would
love to go with you. And you exchange some information
to see if you're compatible ahead of time, and then
you meet up wherever you're planning to go to and
apparently it's working really well. That's kind of neat because

(12:07):
there is no.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Like obligations involved in terms of like what you're going
to do, because you know, when you go on vacations
with family members, sure you've got to like involve them
in every decision. Yeah, what is what is Joe gonna
want to do today?

Speaker 4 (12:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (12:24):
You have to check in with everybody.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
So love this. So it's sort of this is kind
of like a Seinfeld, Like you go on vacation together.
You've got a travel partner so you don't have to
be alone, which is great, and then when you get
to where you're going, you can either hang out because
you both have the same interest, or you could or.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Be like, hey, let's just not hang out today, and
everybody's like, fine by me, You're not gonna hurt my feelings.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Kind of like it I just met you yesterday. I
love the idea of traveling alone. I have a good
friend that travels alone all the time. She loves it.
She meets people, you know, wherever she goes. But I
feel like for me, I would love the idea and
then I would get there and I'd be bored because
it's just me, you know. And so to do this,
I actually really like this idea core it so I

(13:07):
guess you don't know me after a surprise it is.
It's a real plot twist.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
I thought that you would not want to do this. Ever,
I like it because I like talking to people or not.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
So if it doesn't work, again, it's just a common
agreement that you go your vo opposite direction.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Well what if you find yourself every single day going,
then then it's a huge fan and I'm never traveling again.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
But that's great the more you know. We do it
every weekday morning at seven twenty five here on the Breeze.
And by the way, we are less than ten minutes
away now from your next chance to win tickets to
see air supply.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
Yeah, these guys are no strangers to you. They're coming
to the San Jose Civic on February thirteenth, and we
would love to send you so join us minutes from
now seven forty your next chance to win here on
the morning Breeze.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Well, good morning the breeze.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
You did it.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
You are color ten. Can you get to go see
air Supply?

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Oh excellent? Thank you so much?

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Goodness?

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Yes, have you ever seen them before in concert?

Speaker 5 (14:08):
I have not.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
They sound really good in concerts. Still too, You're gonna
have so much fun.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Okay, great, Yeah, I'm excited.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
My name's Rosemary pet Tree.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
All right, Rosemary, we've got two tickets to see Air
Supply February thirteenth at the San Jose Civic courtesy of
Niederlander Concerts. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster because
this is the day before Valentine's Day. Do you have
a sweetheart you're gonna take with you?

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (14:33):
I think so, Yes, I have somebody in mind.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
All right, all right, Rosemary, we'll take this offline. I'd
like to know more. Okay, thank you, Well, you are welcome.
We'll have another chance to win tomorrow morning, same time,
seven forty more Air Supply tickets for you here on
the Breede. Okay, thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
You guys, have a wonderful day, and wonderful holiday, you.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Too, so sweet?

Speaker 5 (14:56):
You too?

Speaker 2 (14:56):
How about at the show?

Speaker 1 (14:57):
All right, bye bye, It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Court and the Plain White Tea's at eight o nine.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
I had the weirdest thing happened the other day. I
want to know if you have ever had something like
this happen. I left my house in the morning, and
I have a gas station on the corner.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Yeah, by my house.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
It was a Circle K convenience store, sure, and like
a Union seventy six gas station. I came home in
the afternoon and I'm like, did I just see a
Chevron sign there? And I turned around and it's not
even a Circle K anymore. It's a Chevron Extra mile
with Chevron gas pumps. Like they flipped it. I went

(15:37):
to work in just a few hours.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Yes, in one day's time, Yes, it became a whole
new convenience store.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
What caught my eye was the guys were out there
putting up the sign that's on the corner that has
the prices because they had to change it from like
orange to blue or whatever because Union seventy six to Chevron.
So I saw them, I'm like, why are they messing
with that sign? And then I went, wait, this is
a Chevron. Now this was literally just a circle ca Wow.
I know, the change the pumps, they changed the front

(16:05):
of the store, they changed the sign out front. Everything.
You wouldn't even know a circle K was there? Were
they were they back up operating that afternoon. Yes, very
good prices on gas by the way, three ninety nine.
I'm like, when are they going to change?

Speaker 1 (16:18):
What I would not want to know is if they
so they went from seventy six gas to Chevron gash,
what do they do with all that guess that's in
those tanks. Probably not say anything and just say hey
my car Chevron? Now yeah, I mean I guess they
probably don't drain those tanks.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
And it's like, right, it would be weird. But what's
funny is so then I went and got my car wash.
And that is why it's raining today because this was
just a few days ago. Thank you, Carolyn, You're welcome.
So I went got my car wash and I drop
off my car and as I'm leaving to go, hey,
you walk through this little area and it's one of
their back area and I see like a circle K
sign on the ground, and I was like this kuyd

(16:56):
is sad? And then I thought, should I ask for
that sign?

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Does anybody want?

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Are those cool?

Speaker 1 (17:01):
I don't know. If you watch American pickers in about
fifty years, it'll probably be worth money. Be worth money. Ooh,
put it in your garage, forget about it, let it
get rusty, get some cobways on it.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yeah, and then you can sell that thing for some money,
worth a million. But have you ever seen that happen?
We're not in like such a short amount of time. Yeah,
I mean I've seen grocery stores. We had a grocery
store near US years ago that like over like a
six month period, it was like four different grocery stores.
Oh funny, yeah, yeah, just like constantly switching things out.
I feel bad it was the employees were always the same,

(17:32):
but in different unis. Just in different uniform.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
How are you working for today?

Speaker 2 (17:36):
We're a safe way today. That's a trip, all right.
We're at eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. You can always send us a message our
iHeartRadio AP that talk back mic on our app is
a great way to reach out to us. And you
can do that twenty four to seven and.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Be sure to join us later this hour eight fifty
as we go commercial free. That means ninety eight minutes
of NonStop, commercial free relaxing favorites.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Yep, we'll start that at eight fifty here on the
Breeze
