Here on the Breeze, coming up next here on the
Morning Breeze, We've got the Morning Breeze brain teas. It's
considered by many to be a little unusual, but about
fourteen percent of us do this at work.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Eight seven seven eight one nine eight one. That's how
you reach us. You can also send us a message
with our iHeartRadio app with your guesses. The brain teas
coming up next, the birthrees.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Six twenty three with the plain white teas. Here on
ninety eight point one, the Breeze, You've got the Morning
Breeze with Carolyn and Court and jumping right into the
Morning Breeze brain tease sponsored by Mike Council Plumbing. You're
in clean hands with Mike Council Plumbing. Visit them at
mc plumbing dot com.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Well.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Considered by many to be a little unusual, about fourteen
percent of us do this at work, and it's unusual,
And I will say it's the key I'm thinking in
my head. I've never done this at work. Okay, probably
that doesn't help you at all.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
No, because you're so straight laced. Okay, let's see what
this is. Eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.
Maybe Benjamin in San Francisco, you can help us. What
do you think the answer is to the brain tease?
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Cell phone?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Oh, talk on our cell phone, on our cell phone.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
Much of my co w they look in the cell
phone if they they you know, they're always on the
cell phone.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
What do you do for a living?
Speaker 3 (02:48):
I'm a coo cpeaki trans you not care home Whenever
they get a chance, they're looking at phone.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
All sneaky peek, Yes, familiar with that. Fort does it
all the time. But I see you, I see you time.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
I would say back in the day when cell phones
were were relatively new, that this is where it would
be unusual. But these days everybody's on their cell phone,
so it's not very usual to do work. I like
that answer, but it's not the correct one today.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Well, Benjamin, nice try and we hope you have a
good rest of your day. Thanks for calling in. Thank you, Okay,
bye bye, all right, Teresa listening and Benetia, good morning.
Thanks for being on with us. What is your guest
for the brain teas? Brush your teeth. I see some
people in the bathroom brushing their teeth at work. We
happen to have court. You probably don't know this. We
(03:38):
have a woman who is a toothbrush. Oh really, it works.
Oh okay, and no shade, by the way, not the'
wrong with keeping your teeth clean at work. I worked
with a guy who would go in the bathroom and
brush his teeth, and I can always tell when she's
been in there. And I'm not mad at the smell
of listerine and toothpaste in the bathroom, by the way,
there's nothing wrong with that, but I know she's been
in there. Yeah, right, Teresa. So do you have a
(03:59):
toothbrusher at work?
Speaker 1 (04:01):
We do.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
We do.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
And it's funny when you're sitting there doing your business
and then she's brushing her teeth.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Yeah, weird. Right, So here's the deal, Teresa. You are correct.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Wow, good job.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
I'm sharp this morning. You are sharp this morning.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Yeah, and it's actually it's been a little bit since
we've had somebody call in with the correct answer.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
I was just thinking that. Yeah, well, Teresa, thanks for
playing along. Yeah, have a good day.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Okay, bye bye.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Interesting as we.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Talk about this, so obviously we work in the radio
business doing a lot of talking. I have worked with
people who insist on brushing their teeth after their their
radio shift. After the they do it's because they talk
so much.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Oh, I just go eat something to do the opposite. Yeah,
I mean, I don't know, I've never well you said
you've never brushed your teeth at work. I don't think
that I ever. I don't know. I think I have either. Yeah,
do you remember the time we saw the guy in
the kitchen in our communal kitchen brushing his teeth? Right?
Even more string, that's worse. All right, morning Breeze Brain Teas.
(05:10):
Every weekday morning at six twenty we invite you to
play along send us a message anytime with our iHeart
Radio app about anything. Frankly, our iHeart Radio app free
in your app store. It's got that talkback mic on
the app, and that's how you send us that message.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
That's right, and be sure to join us at seven
o'clock this morning, yet again another chance for you to
win a full sized Christmas tree as we hand these
out every hour on the hour from six in the
morning until six o'clock tonight. That's right, so be here
at seven o'clock. Your next chance to win on the Breeze,
it's Phil Collins.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
That's one more night Morning Breeze, Carolyn and Core. At
six forty four, it is time for ask us anything,
any question on your mind. Multiple ways to get us
that question. You can do it on the phone of course,
eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one,
send us a talk back with our iHeart Radio app.
A lot of people will email us or send us
direct messages. That's a great way to reach out as well. Yeah,
(06:02):
that's actually how Kevin and San Mateo said us. Today's question.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
It's super simple. What is your favorite holiday movie? Kevin
s oh, yes, favorite holiday movie? I know mine right
out of the gate.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
And mine's not a movie. Mine's a holiday special. Does
that count? Sure? Can you watch it on the regular
or do you have to hunt it down? Can you
own a copy of it?
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, you're gonna laugh. But
it's Christmas Eve on Sesame Street.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
No.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
I have to tell you my family we have been
watching this. They released it in like nineteen seventy eight.
It's been around for a minute, but we have been
watching this, I would say since the eighties together, to
the point where my brothers and I have this entire
special memorized. There is a scene in there if anybody
has seen Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, which, by the way,
(06:52):
I saw this last night on social media. Somebody posted
a clip of it. Right. All the people commenting were like,
we watched this every year, so I know I'm not along.
It's a holiday tradition. It's a holiday tradition. There's a
scene in there where there's a sing along with the piano.
My brother and I used to perform this for my mom.
It's so good. I love it. Just even saying Christmas
(07:13):
Eve on Sesame Street the radio gives me joy.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
I don't think I have ever seen it. Of course,
I would not even aware that it was a thing.
We almost can't watch it together. I really want you
to watch it, please, but we can't watch it together
because I would be that annoying person that says a
lot lot like I can't there.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
You do Tate quote.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Yeah, it's like when you watch The Princess Bride, which
is one of those big quotable movies.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Never seen that one. Never seen The Princess Bride. You
know how I am with movies, all right, so mine?
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Okay, So it's interesting you bring that up because my
second favorite holiday movie is The Muppets Christmas Carol.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Oh and you laughed at Christmas on Sesame Street.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
I know, but Muppets Christmas Carol is my second favorite,
but number one. Yeah, And in fact, I've already watched
this twice this year. Is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Right.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
I have been.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
I feel like I've been seeing National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
on television since about October. For some reason, it started
extra early this year. It's like they're trying to get
it to take over a Christmas story, I guess.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
So it's good though it's so funny Christmas story, it
would probably be like third or fourth.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
I'm just burned out on that one. Like I love it,
but I'm burned out.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
I agree with you, but like, for whatever reason, Christmas
Vacation just never gets old.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
No, it's the Clark Griswold of it all. You're so
Clark Griswold. So it's I mean, and we'll think any
little your family, it's a little Clark Griswold and all
of us. That's a good way to say it. We
have this question on our Facebook page, by the way,
ninety eight one of the Breeze. We've got votes on
there for a Wonderful life Christmas story Home Alone, White
(08:45):
Christmas with being Crosby die Hard. Yeah, so many good
votes here. I'm still on the fence on the Diehard thing.
I know that's a big I know it's a big controversy. Anyway,
join that conversation on our Facebook page ninety eight one
of the Breeze. Call us and thank you, by the
way for that. Ask us anything that was great eight seven, seven, nine, nine,
eight one, And coming up.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
At seven o'clock, it's another chance for you to win
a full sized Christmas tree as the Breeze helps take
the stress out of your holidays.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
We're doing this every hour on the hour. Yeah, we
do it from six in the morning until six at night.
So your next chance coming up just a few minutes
seven o'clock here on the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and we're
doing this every hour on the hour from six in
the morning and til six at night. I'm talking about
giving away full sized Christmas trees and congratulations, you have
just won.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
Oh my god, no kidding.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
I've been trying this morning, six o'clock.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
One. Your hard work paid off.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Oh thank you.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
We're very happy for you. Tell us who you are.
This is Carolin'm from Sunny Mill.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
I have not ready it yet right now, but when's
this one winning this Christmas tree?
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Yes, I think I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Now, we think you're ready too. We've got a full
size Christmas tree for you. It's from Premiere one Credit Union.
They make this possible for us to do every year.
It's our goal to take the stress out of your
holidays with full sized Christmas trees every hour on the hour.
We do it from six in the morning until six
at night. Got another chance to win eight o'clock here
(10:18):
on the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
And right now it's that time of the week where
we get to name a new Morning Breeze Person of
the Week. This is somebody in the Bay Area that
has been deemed going above and beyond just making their
community better.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
This time it's Joe who nominated Jerelynn and I'm not
sure how they are related, but we've got Joe on
the phone. So Joe, tell us about your relationship with
Jerelyn and why you nominated her for our Morning Breeze
Person of the Week.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
He and our family has lived in helth Growth since
the eighteen fifty Most of the family has donated time
and money and everything toward Jesse Baker's School, and I
have like a therapy of course riding program there and
the arena is named after Jean and Jerry Strong and
(11:06):
so Jerrolin worked for the school for the Jesse Baker School,
and the whole family's been outstanding on donating time and
mondy toward helping the kids there. And I was married
to Jerlyne and we got divorced, but they're still like
family to me. They do anything and help me any
way I need, and they do that for everybody.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
That's incredible. How nice of you to think of her
in that way, I know, especially after a divorce, that's
got to be hard.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
No, we're still friends. We're still good friends. We just
decided it wasn't meant to be with us.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
So yeah, but I've had one of those, Joe, I've
got one.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
But I think it says so much though about about
Jerlyne and you Joe that that you are thinking of
her and nominating her for the Morning Briefs Person of
the Week, and to me, that makes her even just
says how special she is.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Yeah, her dad died and it's her and her mom
and I always thought that would be great for her
and her mom to do that together, go.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
On that cruise on city cruises. That's awesome. Well, Joe,
we're gonna let you go. We're going to get Jerlyn
on the phone. But thank you for listening and day
oh we appreciate that. Yeah, Joe, have a good rest
of your day. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
All right, So we should try and call Jerlyne now, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Hello, hi, Jerline. Yeah, this is Carolyn and Court From
ninety eight point one. The Breeze were a radio station
in San Francisco. Uh huh.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
I love the skepticism here, like what is going on? Well, Jarrelyne,
we do a thing every week here on The Breeze
where we name somebody the Morning Breeze Person of the Week,
somebody in the Bay Area and beyond that's just doing
great things for their community. And Joe said, you're that person.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
Ah.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
He was telling us about all of the time that
you donate and the money that you donate to Project
Ride Horse Therapy, and that you were a teacher at
Jesse Baker for so many years and just volunteering your
time and your services, and you, guys just don't stop
your family going back to the eighteen fifties. With all
of this, he couldn't say enough about you. So we
(13:23):
wanted to call and officially make you our Morning Breeze
person of the week.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Oh well, somehow sweet thank you.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
And a little bit more comes with that. Not only
do we make you our Morning Breeze person of the
Week for this week, but we are also going to
give you a brunch for two on a City Cruises
boat out on the bay here in the San Francisco
Bay So you and a gas can go out one
morning and have brunch and enjoy the sites of the city.
It's kind of like if you're in El Grove. It's
kind of like a little mini vacation for you. Sort of.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Oh, no doubt. I love going to the Bay area
anytime I get a chance.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Yeah, and Joe specifically said this might be something great
for you to take your mom, bring your mom with you,
and you.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Both got them.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
Yes, my mom is eighty seven and she is still volunteering.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Oh my gosh, you guys both need break. This is
so perfect for you. I would imagine that if your
mom is a volunteer, by the way, that you get
a lot of your motivation from your mom.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Absolutely, if anybody knew how good it feels to be helpful,
I think more people.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Would do it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Oh wow, that's exciting. Oh well, thank.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
You, well, thank you for all you do.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
Oh you as well, Thank you.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
What a delightful surprise she does. Wonderful, so cute. And
if you have a person in your world that's like
Grelyn that you think would make a great Morning Breeze
Person of the Week, nominate them on our page ninety
eight one the Breeze dot com. It's Billy Joel and
My Life. Happy Friday morning to you. By the way,
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. It's seven twenty seven
(14:56):
and it is now time for the More You Know
And it's sponsored by the SA Cisco Symphony.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
All right, so, once again, if you've ever wondered what
happens if you remove social media from your life, the
obvious does happen That life gets better, mental health improves.
According to this research, depression drops by twenty five percent,
anxiety falls sixteen percent. This is from a study where
they looked at two hundred and ninety five young adults.
(15:24):
Insomnia decreased by fourteen percent. So if you're having trouble sleeping,
it might because of that TikTok account.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
And keep following. Oh it's so fun though, looking at you, Carolyn,
and we are on TikTok at ninety one the breeze,
but I tell you we are, please follow it. We're
on all of your social media channels. Back to the study.
Back to the study.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
But the interesting thing is though people who cut out
social media again Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok x normally known
as Twitter, they actually spent slightly more time on their
phones even though they weren't on social media. They were
just doing other things on their.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Phone, like what like games and stuff.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Yeah, they didn't give up the phone.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
The phone. Didn't get being on your phone, having something
to look at, having something to do to kill time.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
And they found and they found other way that they
the people just kept their phones. They're like, I'm miss
I'm missing something. Yeah, they still wouldn't go to Facebook
or wherever, but they would still look at their phone.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
It's so habitual to pick up your phone and just
look at it and hope something is there for you
to occupy your time. So that makes sense. It's like
people that give up smoking where it's like you, I
don't know, I'm speaking out. I'm so out of my
league on this, but I feel like for some people
that give up smoking. I know some people that have
quit and they say it's the it's the act of
having something in your hands or between your fingers to
(16:42):
you know, it's not so much the smoking, right, which
is why I feel like this is like it's just
nice to have your phone in your hands.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
For a lot of people, the easy way, not the
easy an easy way to stop smoking is to go
to like a gum because it's that oral fixation. You
still have something in your mouth wow, and then eventually
you wean yourself off of that.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
The numbers, though, are crazy. The twenty five percent and
the fourteen percent of the sixteen like that is just
nuts to me. So I believe it though, despite increased
screen time, when you drop social media, mental health will improve. Yeah,
It's like we already knew it, but then to hear
it this way, it's like wow.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
And once again, if you'd like to follow the Breeze
on your favorite social media platforms.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Highly encourage it and feel free to spend as much
time as you want. Just search for ninety eight point
one the Breeze. You'll find this all right. It's the
more you know. We do it every weekday morning at
seven twenty five here on the Breeze, we're about thirty
minutes away from your next chance to win a full
size Christmas tree from us here on the Breeze.
Speaker 4 (17:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
It's an annual tradition here at the Breeze, and we
love this so much because we know it makes a
difference in your life. Yeah, as we give you these
full sized Christmas trees. We're doing this every hour on
the hour. We kicked it off this morning at six o'clock.
We'll go until six o'clock tonight.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Yep, So be here at eight o'clock for your next
chance to win a tree on the Breeze. They are
in sync. It is eight to twelve Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Cordes. It's an annual tradition of ours giving
away full sized Christmas trees every hour on the hour.
Six in the morning till six at night and Janice
and Richmond just won a tree. Yeah, well done. Janis
(18:11):
joining Tracy and San Leandro this morning, Caroline in Sunnyvale.
Like yesterday, our first three winners were women. We threw
that out there and said, guys, allows you need to
step up, and then they did. They did.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Yeah, all sorts of great winners across the bay like
James and Burling Game and Bill and Petaluma. As we
helped take the stress out of your holidays with these
full sized Christmas trees. We're doing it every hour on
the hour. We started it at the six this morning.
We will go until six o'clock tonight. And a big
thank you by the way to Premiere one Credit Union.
They are the best, yeah, making this happen. They truly
(18:43):
are the ones helping take the stress out of your holiday.
So thank you to them.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
And again your next chance to win comes up at
nine o'clock this morning. Speaking of stress in your holidays,
I saw some high school girlfriends the other day. It
was so fun. My friend Carrie, this brought stress to
you or take the stress away. There was a situation, Oh,
there was a situation. My friend Holly and my friend Carrie.
We went to have lunch at a restaurant in Martinez,
(19:09):
Mexican food, and Holly and I are very big eaters,
like we don't care. We're like, what do we have appetizer?
And we want a main. So we sat down and
we're like, let's get fajitas. I was like, you're going fijidas. Okay, yes,
let's do it. And then Holly threw in, should we
get nachos as an app Okay, yes we should are
(19:31):
pretty big.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Now, my friend Carrie, she doesn't eat a lot. So really,
this is two fijidas, one order of nachos, really for
Holly and for me and Carrie's having a bowl soup.
Waiter comes over, he's like, hey, can I take your order? Yeah,
we're gonna go. Well, we're each to a fajidas and
we're gonna have nachos, and I quote, it's a lot
of food ladies. Wait, so the words that's a lot
(19:55):
of food ladies, man, and Holly said, I don't care.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Well, I got a lot of appreciation for that person
because what Yeah, because obviously their tip is dependent on
the amount you spend, so despite right, so he's really
truly looking out for.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
You, Yeah, but we would have spent more had we
gotten too fhias and nachos. That's what I'm saying. Like
he like the tip. He's like putting.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Your you know, eating too much food above him getting
a bigger, bigger tip.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
That's what I'm saying. That's what a great move by him.
I don't know. He gotta be careful with that. I
don't know about that court. Now we are divided on
this because I don't think he should have said you
don't think he should have said that's a lot of food, ladies,
maybe not delivered it like that. He wouldn't have been like, ah,
this is are you sure you can eat this much?
(20:50):
Is there a That's what I'm saying. I don't know
how I think he should have said not had just
brought it and then some and then we could have
asked for to go boxes. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
I like it when Wade are that way where they'll
give you a true breakdown of what you're dealing with,
because if it's a new place you've never been to before,
you have no idea what the portion side sizes are.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
I want to see what people I want to I
want to see what people think about this because for me,
I think it might have been okay for him to
say it, but he needed to work on the delivery,
the delivery of a lot of food. Ladies. Now, he
wasn't laughing but to say it. So, I'm wondering, have
you had this happen to you? How did you feel
about it? Are you okay with a waiter or a
(21:32):
waitress saying it's a lot of food? I am okay
with it. We got that. I'm down, all right, I
appreciate it. Please never be my waiter, okay, Court? All right,
we're at eight seven seven nine eight one, nine eight one.
We've got that talkback mic on our iHeartRadio app. Great
way for you to send us your thoughts on this subject.
We'll take them via the iHeart app too.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
That's exactly right, and be sure to join us later
in the hour eight fifty as you begin your workday
