Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, Morning Breeze on demand. That's Court's favorite
song on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
I was just thinking about this when I was a
kid and this song came on MTV the music video
because it was Peter Stara, obviously it was for the
Karate Kare Karddi Kind two, and my family would be like, cork,
get a nerds, come run it into the room.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
That's so cute. That's a great song. Gloria love Peter
Satara Morning Breeze. Carolyn and Court were a couple of
minutes late for the Morning Breeze brain Te's pardon us,
it's a Monday morning at six twenty three. Morning Breeze
brain t He's sponsored by Mike Council Plumbing. You're in

Speaker 2 (00:41):
All right. According to a recent report, the average American
home contains.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Sixty of these, and we are at eight seven seven
nine eight one nine eight one. We've got Tammy and
Napa standing by. You've got a guest for us. What
is your guess?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Plugs in your house? Plugs in your house.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Oh, that's a very good guest. Outlets it's a great guests. Yeah,
because you you would have to think.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
At least sixty.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Does each outlet count as two?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Though?

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Because she said.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Plus, oh, yeah, that's true. Let's go ahead and just
each plug is two. Okay, there's two plugs.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Okay, so two.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Of those, you've got about sixty.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
I don't know. Maybe. Now that's a great guest.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Really great guest, Hammy, and I'm gonna say you are close.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Oh wow, yeah, nice try you guys have awesome day,
you too, doo all.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Right, bye bye bye?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Okay, Nancy and San Jose, go ahead. What do you
think the answer is to the brain teas today?

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Coffee mugs? Coffee mugs? Have you been looking in my
mother in law's cupboards?

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Tasty?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
No, I looked at my own. My mother in law
has I don't know how many, but tens and tens
of Christmas mugs which she just got out for the holiday,
and so she had to put her regular mugs into storage.
And there's tens and tens and dozens and dozens of
those as a whole ordeal. Yeah, sixty is I on
the low end for her? Nancy, how many do you have?

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (02:11):
I don't know, I have a whole cabinet full double
stacked in the bottom of an entire corner cabinet.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I probably have fifty or sixty okay, all right, so yeah,
so that you would, which is why you're guessing this.
It's a great guess, but it's not the correct answer.
The correct answer the average American home contains at least
sixty light bulbs. Oh, because we all have track lighting
lighting recess lighting. So you don't have just the one

(02:37):
light bulb in the middle of the room. You now
have like eight that kind of do the perimeter.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I just did the math. I have nine.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Okay, well you're the exception.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
But you have called my house small and I called
it cozy.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
That's the same thing, Nancy, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Your laugh says it all.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah. I have track lighting, so there's like four on
each track. Have three double sets in my living room
and two double sets in my bedroom. Modern kitchens have
all the recessed lighting, and then sometimes there's under cabinet lighting.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
And it sounds like I'm due for a remodel.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
All right, you guys have.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
A great.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I will say, though, Carolyn, you you probably don't want
to get like upgraded to the to the new system
because you know how they said LED Lighting, you don't
have to change out those light bulbs.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Yeah, last forever.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
They don't. They don't. I feel like I'm changing my
light light bulbs just as often. Oh that's funny. They
tricked you to get them, I know now, I just kidding.
You really don't have much of a choice anymore. Yeah,
that's all you can find is and they're more energy efficient,
which I appreciate.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
I also found that the Christmas lights are different now
when you go to buy like I have now, my
lights don't match because I've got some ogs that are
the regular LEDs.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
They're like, it's a cleaner light something about it. Yeah,
and they threw purple in there. It's a whole deal.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
I had to take down a strand going back to
orchard supply. Whole thing are really confusing again, it was
it was a very busy weekend.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah, all right, Morning Breeze Brain Teas.

Speaker 3 (04:05):

twenty uh here on the Breeze, and we are very

Speaker 1 (04:50):
I feel like forced is a.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
A little strong word.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
It's a little strong for a Monday morning.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I I wish I want to compel people to feel
like they're in charge. Okay, yeah, So you can call
us eight seven seven nine eight one. You can also
send us your questions using the talkback feature on our

Elaine in Redwood City. She said, Hi, Carolyn high Court,
I listen to your show every morning when I drive
from Redwood City. Do UCSF and San Francisco. Thank you
for having us on in your commute, and she says,
for ask us anything. I want to know who your
celebrity crush was as a kid. Ah, so many posters

(05:31):
on my walls to go through.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Michael J.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Fox, c Thomas Howell, Dolph Lugren from Rocky for wait
a minute, he was the bad guy I he was
so cute as hair was perfect. Kirk Cameron was on
my walls. Yeah, it's a long list. That takes me back.
When you go to Prince Plus and you buy us
sixteen by twenty. I'm sure my mom and dad love this.

(05:56):
You put posters all of the wall, the pinholes. Yeah,
and if you went crazy would get it mounted. That's
what I did with what's the space? Oh gosh, what's
the guy from Beverly Hills Luke Perry? Oh yeah, he
went to college with me. He was on my college wall.
So what about you?

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
For me, it was so Leigh Moonfry, Oh, my Punky Brewster.
But I was a door. But I never had posters
of my crushes on the wall. You didn't, No, No,
that was a that was a private thing. I kept
that to myself.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Oh, okay, well until now, it's quite an admission.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Oh, it was very well known in my house that
I had a crush on On Brewster. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Yeah, Oh that's a great question though.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
That's fun.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
That's a little travel back in time. Thank you.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
It's ask us anything. We do it every weekday morning
here at six forty. You can send us a message.
If you want to send us a direct message through
social like she did, you can call us eight seven
seven nine eight, one oh nine eight one. Of course
that iHeartRadio app talkback microphone. You can use that anytime,
day or night, and please do and be sure to
join us this morning at eight oh five. It's your
first chance of many to win end she in concert tickets. Yes,

(07:01):
Ed Cheron is going to be playing at Levi Stadium
in July. We're going to be giving tickets away every
day this week at eight oh five, ten oh five,
and four oh five. Right here on the Breeze, it's
Phil Collins at seven oh six the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court. Happy Monday. Thank you for being here,
and it is time for the Brighter Side. We do
it every weekday morning at this time, and chance for

(07:23):
you to call us and tell us about something good
happening in your life. It could have to do with
the holidays coming up. Yeah, could be that you had
a great weekend and something fun happened, or just something
in general in your life that you appreciate.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Just a random occurrence.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
It could be anything, anything that makes you happy. We're
at eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one.
You could send us a talk back with our iHeart
Radio app as well. That's actually the case today, right.
This is coming to us from the iHeart Radio app YEP.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
This is Shocky in Louisville, Kentucky. We learned last night
that our son, who has been serving the past fifteen
years in the US Navy and whom we have not
seen for almost three years, will be able to make
it home for the Christmas holidays.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
He'll also be able to meet his nephew for the
first time since he was born two and a half
years ago.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Needless to say, we are very stoked about this news.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
That is incredible.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
There's a lot to unpack here. First, I love the
fact that we've got we know, we have listeners that
listen to the breeze all over the globe. Yes, so Louisville, Kentucky.
Thank you for listening. Yes, and also I love the
usage of the term stoked.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Oh that was fun. I thought you were going to
focus more on his son three years.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
I was unpacking that part there. But then to the
most important bar, which is why it becomes a brighter side.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
That is huge.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah, that's exciting.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
That is the perfect holiday story for me. Now, parents
that haven't seen their their child in years and they're
coming home for the holidays.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
It's like a story book right there.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
It's something that I have really really learned to appreciate
as a as a parent the last couple of years,
as my daughter Quinn went off to college and don't
see her as regularly sure as I used to, you know,
which used to be every day. I even though I
saw her on Thanksgiving. I am so I'm counting down
the days oh for her coming home for the holidays.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
That's awesome. Yeah, that's what it's all about right there.
That's a fantastic talkback, and we are very happy for you.
I think he said his name is Shocky, So yeah,
oh that's exciting. Okay, so that's how it goes. You
can send us your brighter side with our iHeartRadio app
and that talkback Mike again. You can call us eight
seven seven nine eight one, nine eight one, and we
are stoked if I may to borrow I've ever said

(09:36):
that on the Breeze that we've got Ed Sharon tickets
for you all week this week.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Yeah, he's coming to Levi Stadium July twenty fifth. A
lot of people looking forward to this and all week long.
Your chance to win these tickets three times a day,
So eight oh five with US, ten oh five with
Celia check Cone, and then four oh five with Tony Sandeval.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Yep, easy to win. Be here at eight oh five
your first chance of the week. Here on the Breeze,
Bill Medley and Jennifer Warren. It's seven twenty eight here
on ninety eight point one the Breeze. It's the Morning
Breeze with Carolyn and Cordon and it's time now for
the Christmas Gift edition of the More You Know, sponsored by.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
The San Francisco Symphony.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
This survey just came out that said that parents are
just as excited as their kids when it comes to
the holidays, and they want to make Christmas mornings so special.
That is not surprising that makes sense, right. Two out
of three parents say they hide gifts around the house
so their kids won't find them before Christmas. I feel
like growing up, we all knew our parents hiding spots.

(10:35):
Is the closet, the closet, it's always a closet or
under the bed yep. A third of parents say they
put out decoy gifts. Never heard that in my life.
That seems like so much effort wrapping an empty box
and putting it out, trying to throw up. I would
never that's so tiring even to read it was tyring. Okay,

(10:55):
here's the kicker though. For the parents that hide gifts
around the house, half of them say they've actually lost
or forgotten where they hid those gifts.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Half wow, Oh, I guess that's the risky take if
you're going to be hiding stuff.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
We had that happen with Easter eggs. I don't know
if we had that happen with presents.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yeah, I'm trying to think. I don't think that I've
ever misplaced any gifts. We typically don't have to hide
them too much. In fact, when when my daughters were younger,
there was in our garage and we've got one of
those typical garages where like you could park it's a
two car garage, but you could only get one in
there because the rest of it was just clutter.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
I would basically hide the Christmas gifts in the garage,
almost in plain sight. I would just put like something
over the top of it, like a and the girls
were oblivious to it.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Because that was the because it cut.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
They had no idea how close they were to it.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Did Were you a kid that would open gifts like
you would open them before Christmas?

Speaker 2 (11:58):
No? No, either.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
I was always so scared if you can't wrap that
thing back up exactly, you're running a risk if you
pull that tape off and part of the wrapping paper
comes off on the tape, good luck sticking it back
on there and matching it up.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
We were one of those families because there were so
many of us that there weren't a lot of gifts
that were under the tree to begin with, just maybe
a few scattered ones, not too many, so there weren't
you know, Yeah, you can really shake those up, you know,
you always shake them to see what's inside. And then
when Santa Claus came on Christmas Eve, Santa was he
didn't even wrap them.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Santa didn't wrap them. We have just been tired by
the time.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
There were so many of us. It's like the Johnson's
were not going to wrap these, so we we just had.
We just had piles of our stuff.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Oh yeah, piles of gifts at your house and your
two car griage house.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Santa, Well, no, I have a two car garage now.
As a kid, we didn't have a garage. Couldn't afford one. Anyway,
isn't that part of the house. I feel like this
is a separate conversation. But this took a turn, all right,
and some more. You know, we do it every weekday morning.
It's seven twenty five here on the Breeze. Stay with us.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
We are just over a half hour away from your
chance to go see Ed Sheeron, who's coming to Levi's
Stadium in July.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Yeah, your first of three chances to win today, So
eight oh five, ten oh five, four oh five, your
chance is to win Here on the Breeze.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
It's eight oh seven the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Court and congratulations you are Color twenty.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
You just want our first pair of Ed Shearon tickets.
Way to go.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Thank you, Carolyn.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
You're welcome. Court's here too.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
I I am part of the product core.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Good morning, part of the process.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
I'm just here to congratulate.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
And you did it well.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Thank you did it well.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Okay, who is this?

Speaker 4 (13:43):
This is Valerie and I'm calling from sud Day.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Oh Valerie, Well, congrats to you. You've got two tickets
to see Ed.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Sharon on July twenty fifth. That's all courtesy of Messina
Touring Group. That show, by the way, happening at Levi Stadium.
Tickets are on sale now at ticket Master. Nice job,
Thank you guys. This awesome gift.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
You are so welcome. It is kind of a gift.
And you know you've already won a pair of tickets.
But for people that didn't win, just know that you
also have a chance to win on our Instagram page.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
You're giving you a couple of chances.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Yeah, great reason for you to follow the Breeze and
four or five also, oh.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Yes, well thank you for the reminder, Valerie. Yes, a
chance to win it ten oh five and four oh five.
I didn't know. We just got a new Breeze employee
out of this phone call as well.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
I've been listening all weekend. Yes, ten o, five and
four oh five here on the breeze, all right, so
there's three chances every day.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
It's got it five five, four five it. It's gonna
be a long week full of fun.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Though it's certainly I might be a little bit off today, Carolyn,
because over the.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Okay, I'm only saying because I am too. Yes, no,
you're not.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Reason why I am off is because this weekend marked
the first dance competition of the season for my youngest daughter, Sloan,
who is a high school senior. She's on the high
school dance team. Yeah, and they just started the competition season,
and so over the weekend we had the first competition.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
I feel like your kids are heard that Sloan is
dancing year round.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
She does, but they actually there's kind of a window
they do kind of late late late fall because I
technically were still a fall but winter, and then they
get into the new year and they actually start the
actual like competitions that count towards state. So this is
kind of like a pre competition. Okay. Anyway, so it
was the first time that they performed their routine in
front of an audience, the first time judges were going

(15:38):
to look at it. So a lot of anxiety involved
with that. That's that's not no problem for me. I
have no issues with that. For me. The anxiety comes
from you walk into this the gym gym Area Stadium stadium,
and we got there early, so we had to save
seats for the rest of the parents. Oh, I do
not like saving seats.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Saving seats is so much anxiety.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
So it's like when you get on a plane, right
and you're in the A group and then someone's in
the SEA group.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
You're talking. If you're flying Southwest.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Yeah, I guess I don't. Yeah, And I'm not a
seat saver, so I'm a little out of my league.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
You can't save on Southwest. That's not allowed. It's against
the k too, can you.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Well, I don't know, because I've had it happen to
me before. I'm like, oh, I'll sit here and there
like the seat is I don't think.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
I don't think you're supposed to. Because there are some
dance competitions where there are very specific rules you cannot
save seats at the dance. This one, this one over
the weekend, there was no such rules, so people are
saving seats. We got there early. My wife and I
and so we so and in a couple other people
that are like, let's save seats for the other parents.
So we spread out all of our stuff. I'm sitting
like ten feet away from my wife, oh, my and

(16:43):
and I have to sit there and just kind of
mark my territory for almost an hour.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
And did you have people coming by that were doing
the inventive? Are these seats saved?

Speaker 2 (16:51):
They didn't. I fortunately this time around it didn't get
to that because there was still kind of plenty of room.
But at a certain point I started actually started kind
of pulling our marked area in because I'm like, people
aren't going to show up. Oh that's It just brought
so much anxiety.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
It's full.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
And if my wife is listening to me right now,
and I know she probably is.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
You may want it before you continue, because whenever you
say I know, she probably is, I just want to
remind you she probably is.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Like I just want to say, can we do something
about this? I just felt really anxious all weekend long.
I didn't say anything at the time, but I'm saying
it now. I feel like that should have been done
in a private phone call and not on the radio.
But you do what you do. Blame in I'm not
blaming my wife Randy for this. It's just kind of
he just goes with the territory. I just in the future,
I don't want to be involved.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
I wonder if anybody.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
I wonder if anybody listening has any advice on how
to be a good seat saver. To do it with class,
to do it with poise, so that you you're not anxious,
you're not offending people, Like, what do you even do?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
I don't know if there's a good way to do it.
I just don't go out, So probably that's all that's
I got another dance competition this weekend. Good luck. I'm
looking forward to it and also not looking for me.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
We better help those phone lines start ringing. We're at
eight seven seven nine eight one, nine eight one. You
can send us talkbacks. We got some talkbacks coming in court.
We have people calling. You're gonna be okay, look at
all these calls come in. These people want to hold
I love her. They're probably gonna be like, don't save
the seats.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
No, They're gonna be like, can we get Edge Sharon tickets?

Speaker 3 (18:19):
And you can go to our Instagram for that coming
up later this hour, at eight point fifty, we will
be commercial free, as we always are, to kick off
your work day this morning.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Yeah, that means ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free,
relaxing favorites, and we'll kick that off at eight fifty
here on the Breeze.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
I shared just moments ago that I had anxiety over
the weekend because I went to a dance competition for
my daughter and I was expected to save seats.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
You really spent some time.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
I'm not going to say complaining about this, but I
will say discuss I I.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Just wanted people to know, and mainly my wife, that
have brought me a lot of anxiety.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
I knew she would be listening because I just got
a text from your wife, and I'm going to quote
what Randy said. Okay, oh my gosh, what a baby.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
That sounds right. Yeah, go more fre
