The Morning Breeze Morning Breeze on demand.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
When you hear a song like that, you kind of
feel like you should have like a tropical drink.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
In your hand, right, Oh, I agree, I agree.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I don't know if a tropical drink is appropriate. At
six eighteen in the.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Morning, I was gonna say that song. Yesterday at the
Giants game course Giants versus Dodgers, our DJ Jeremy played
that song. Oh nice, and it was a vibe because
you know, the game was very close, and so it
was a vibe. It was sort of like the tightest
high but we're holding on, and so I just had
a flashback to all the fans who are like, oh,
I love this song, such a great song it is.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
It's Blondie here on ninety eight point one The Breeze
have got the Morning Breeze. Carolyn and Cordon. It's that
time of the morning where we bring you the Morning
Breeze brain teas much like turning on a light in
a dark room. Ah, You're here to wake you up
and make you think a little.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Bit on a Monday morning.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in clean hands with
Mike Cancel Plumbing. Visit them at mc plumbing dot com.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Okay, here we go.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
The average woman will spend about two and a half
years of their life doing this.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Okay, let's see what the answer is. Eight seven seven
nine eight one oh nine eight one. We have a
woman on old Actually, Adele in Millbray, what do you
think The answer is?

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Cooking?

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Cooking? Do you feel like that applies to you?

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Yeah, I'd like being very creative. I try to like
make something I grabb like a bunch of stuff and
just try to make like a pasta or soup. And
I do see myself a lot of hours in the
kitchen is at least what forty five minutes each day? Yeah,
in the kitchen it just adds up.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
It definitely does.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
But I would have to guess that the total time
spent in a kitchen is probably well beyond two and
a half years.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Probably. But I do like, Adele, how you work that out?
Like you were coming to your answer and your answer
does make sense, or it does, but it is not
the correct answers. All right, Adal, thank you for calling.
Have a good day.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Bye bye.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
All right, Chris in conquered, what is your guest? This morning?

Speaker 3 (02:10):
I was gonna say getting hair or nails or makeup done,
but we do that our whole life.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, but if you tally up that time, Chris, and
it adds up to two and a half years.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Oh my gosh, you got it right, Chris. Oh yeah,
it's basically getting ready is the answer. Doing your hair,
doing your nails, getting dressed, taking out your eye.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I feel like there are women in my life where
this number would be more like five years of their
life or seven years.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
That's because you live with three women. Yes, yeah, And
imagine if you tell all of the older hours and
then all of them together.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
So if the answer here, the average woman spends about
two and a half years of their life getting ready,
that means the average man spends two and a half
years of their life sitting on the couch waiting.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
It's what a funny guy, Well, Chris, that's great. Good
job for sure. I'm here all week. By the way,
that was very cool. We're gritting more and more people
lately that are getting the brain teas, right. I like it. Yeah,
you know why they're putting their court braid on. Oh,
to win this game, you've got to think what is

(03:15):
court thinking? Like, go inside that brain just for a minute.
Don't spend a lot of time there. Just dip in
and then dip out, and that's how you're gonna win.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeah, asking yourself what is Court thinking is a lot
different than you say, what.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Were you thinking? Those There's kind of two different things,
all right, Morning Breeze Brain Teas we play every weekday
morning here at six twenty.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Hey, coming up this morning at seven forty and all
week long, we've got your chance to win tickets to
see Heart, who are coming to the Chase Center next month.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I know we are so excited. After the show on Friday,
our promotions manager Ramona was like, guess what, we just
scored Heart tickets for you guys. You're very excited. So yes,
August tenth at Chase Center. It is going to be
hard and hopefully you will be there. Be here at
seven for your chance to win those tickets. On the
Breeze brees that one from Jobie Gray. It is drift Away.

(04:07):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court at six
forty And because it is six forty that means it's
time for the more you Know today brought to you
by Court Johnson.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
That was so official so there is a sleep technique.
It's been growing momentum the last couple of years.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Yeah, churs to know.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
If you've seen this mouth tape, people putting tape on
their mouths before going to bed.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
I've heard about this. It's gone.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
It's I think TikTok is really where it kicked off.
People on TikTok saying this is going to change your life.
If you tape up your mouth before you go to bed,
you tape it closed, right, Yeah, you're taping your mouth closed,
which seems so dangerous. Yeah, well I'm going to talk
about that.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
The pros, according to the people that are saying you
should do this, say you're you're gonna get better sleep
because it forces you to breathe through your nose, which
is a healthier way to breathe. It says that if
you're a snorer, it could help you stop snoring. And
the I think the biggest reason why people caught onto

(05:15):
this is if you sleep with your mouth open, your
jaw line is open for seven eight hours a night. Oh,
and your your face looks the way it does because
of the way you breathe at night. Oh, so by
closing your mouth, your jaw line gets tightened up.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
I just feel like, if you have a cold or
something and your nose is plugged, Oh, this could be problem.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
You can't you can't put that tape on if your
nose is cold. Yeah, and that's actually why health experts
are saying you should actually be talking to your doctor before.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
You do any of this. Yeah, please don't listen to
the advice from the Morning Breeze. Yeah, they say it
could restrict airflow. If you've got sleep apnea of any sort,
you probably shouldn't be doing this at all. But again,
it does go back to the fact that by closing
your mouth up, it forces you to breathe through your nose, which,
according to all health experts, is the better way to breathe.
I know somebody who does this and they swear by it.

(06:07):
My wife does it everything night. Does she buy you
have to buy medical grade tape? Oh my gosh, this
sounds so bad.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
To actually keep your mouth closed, And so she gets
she has these weird things she puts on her mouth.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Do you go to bed at night and you're like, hey, Randy,
can you tape your mouth shut? No, she does it
for me. I don't even have to ask. I just
feel like the joke writes itself.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Lean over for a little good night smooch, and you're like,
I guess you're.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
You're done for the night. Twenty too. Oh my gosh. Okay,
I wonder if anybody listening do you use mouth tape
at night? And do you think it works? Chio?

Speaker 2 (06:43):
It is a huge trend and I'm sure my wife
Randy would swear by it. But the health experts say,
before you try this, yeah, you'd go talk to your
doctor for sure and make sure that it's something you
should be doing.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
For sure. Well, call us and let us know if
you're doing this, or maybe your your partner or your
spouse is doing it eight seven seven nine eight one
nine eight one, or send us a message with our
iHeartRadio app that talk back Mike.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
And on the way this morning if you didn't hear earlier.
Coming up this morning and all week long at seven
forty your chance to win tickets to see Heart at
the Chase Center.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Yeah, they are going to be there on August tenth,
and we would love to send you to see them,
one of our favorite bands here on the morning Breeze.
So be here at seven forty for your chance to
win those tickets. Right here, it's Culture Club and it
is seven oh seven the morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord,
and it is time for us to get into the
first brighter side of the week. Yeah, so that means

(07:35):
after today, Court four more? Oh, thank okay, thank you?

Speaker 2 (07:37):
No, I appreciate Wait and break it down for me
like that.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
It's a chance for you to call us and tell
us about all the good stuff that's happening in your life.
If you stop down and you think about it could
even be something that you did this past weekend.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
I have a list here of things that could possibly
be your brighter side. Do you want me to break
some of these out?

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Carolyn? Why didn't you give me one? You finished a
book that you loved. Good one, Court, that's a great one.
Be a brighter side. He is right and sponsored by
Shrieving Company, Luxury time Pieces, Fine Designers and Flawless Diamonds.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
All right, Landa and San Francisco. We understand you've had
some changes happening in your life.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Tell us about them.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
I'm a retired SFBB officer, No.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Kidding, When did you retire?

Speaker 4 (08:17):
I retired two years ago after thirty two years of service.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Thirty two years. Thank you for your service, Yeah for sure.
How did that feel to retire? Finally?

Speaker 4 (08:29):
Absolutely marvelous.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
What did you enjoy most about your job? I've always
been curious when it comes to police officers.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
I enjoyed the ability of being able to connect with
the wide group of people.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, what was most.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Important was being able to be a part of making
their lives a little bit better.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Yeah. How did you get into that profession?

Speaker 4 (08:55):
Actually it was a dare. I was a community activist
and one of the police unions told me that basically,
get it. Since I wanted to see change, that I
become a police officer to see the change that I envision.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Now, way, what a crazy story, And you said fine,
And then thirty two years later, you're retiring.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
And that's exactly the way you want to have it
happen too, That's right, somebody looking to make.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
That positive influence. Good for you. Well, congratulations. So what
are you doing as your retirement besides listening to the breeze,
which we appreciate, but what else?

Speaker 4 (09:29):
Well, I'm now pursuing a music career, and I also
do a lot of community service work still with organizations,
and I try and recruit others to join the police
departments in order to see positive changes in society.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
That's amazing. Work never ends.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Well.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Congratulations again, Yamanda.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
Okay, thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
I touchd to so many people Court Thatt have retired
that don't truly retire right, like they still feel like
they have a purpose, which I love, Like Yolanda, where
she's like, my work here is not done.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
They're almost busier in retirement than they were before.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yes, so cool. But we're so happy for you again, Yolanda,
thank you for listening. Thank you for sharing your brighter
side with us. We're at eight seven, seven nine, eight
one oh nine to eight one and.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Coming up this morning seven forty so we're just a
little over a half hour from right now. Your chance
to win tickets to see Heart.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Heart we just found out on Friday is coming to
the Chase Center on August tenth, and we are so
excited about this show. We are such fans of Ann
and Nancy Wilson in the band, so we're excited for
you that you get to win these tickets. Yeah, you'll
be able to go to the show.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
We'll pick up the price of the tickets if you
want to get a pretzel at the show.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
That's on you. That's on you.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
But join us at seven forty your first chance to
win of the week here on the Morning Breeze's Pat
Benatar at seven twenty eight. You've got the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Cord and it is time for you
to ask us anything.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Time of the show.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
We pretty much turn it over to you in terms
of what we're talking about.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah, you get a chance to ask us whatever is
on your mind. As a matter of fact, Court, we've
had a lot of people following up on your pizza
making struggles. You're trying to perfect the perfect dough, and
I correct me if I'm wrong. The struggle you're having
is that the dough that you're making continues to stick
to the pizza stone. Yeah, you're trying to find that

(11:25):
perfect combination, that perfect recipe.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
It sticks to the stone, it sticks to my countertop,
it sticks to everything.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
It's just too sticky. Yeah. So people are calling us
on today's ask us anything, and they've been wondering if
you're able to figure it out. So we've got to
talk back this morning for ask us anything on that subject.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
This is Tom from Oakland. This message is for court
on pizza making. I have a tip. I too also
buy store bought dough. It seems to work out pretty well.
But my tip is preheat the oven first, spread out
the dough onto your pizza pan, pre cook the dough
for five minutes, and then pull it out and build

(12:04):
your pizza and put it back in. I hope that helps.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Interesting, So first for five minutes.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah, that's kind of a technique I've heard on a
on a few different things where you I think it's
you think I call it like par baking or something
like that, where you this is not my department, don't.
I don't know what the technical term is. But yeah,
like for like Kisha's and other great things where there's
a dough that he needs to hold some stuff.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
That makes sense because it makes the dough a little crisper.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
So it's yeah, it's it's basically like going and buying
those what do they call those? Remember those, department, Remember
those pizza dough or pizza doughs you can, oh gosh,
it's kind of the Boboli idea.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Is that what you did with Boboli?

Speaker 2 (12:45):
I feel like you just loaded that up and then
you would bake it, but the dough itself was technically
already cooked and ready to go.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
That's right. My brother used to eat those like crazy
in the eighties. Doing this on your own, getting it
ready to go. It's your own, Boboli. I'm trying.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
I'm still thinking I'm going to have that sticking issue,
the sticky thing.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
I don't know. You try to stop on it. Maybe
that's it too. Yeah, just straight do like Tom was saying,
that's a app. That was a great question.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Though.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
I appreciate Tom and his tips because it sounds like
it's wildly successful for him.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
It is. Yeah, and please continue to follow up on
this court because this is the eighteenth time we've talked
about your pizza.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Yeah, So I really hope you can checked it soon.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
I tried to let it go because I just give
it up, and then we started getting questions and I'm like,
oh wait, I need I do need to protect this pilza.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
People are invested in this. I'm going to use this
term loosely problem that you've got, so I will master
pizza making, all right, Tom, Thank you. That, by the way,
that is a talkback. It's off of our iHeart Radio app.
So when we are always talking about like send us
your messages on our iHeart Radio app with the talkback mic,
that's exactly what that is. So you can do that anytime.
Our iHeart Radio app is free in your app store.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
And coming up next here on the Morning Breeze, we've
been talking about this all morning long. You're chants to
win tickets to see Heart at the Chase Center in August.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Yes, August tenth, they will be playing at the Chase Center.
We want to send you for free, so be here
at seven forty your chance to win those tickets on
the Breeze. Well, good morning the Breeze. You are Color
ten and you have just won our first pair of
Heart tickets for the week. Way to go.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Oh that's excellent, Yeah, right down the street. That's perfect.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
Oh good. So are you in San Francisco? I am perfect?
What's your name?

Speaker 4 (14:30):
Kevin?

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Kevin?

Speaker 2 (14:31):
What song are you looking forward to most hearing at
the Chase Center?

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Barracudah.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Yeah, then you're like Barracudah. But then when magic Man
comes on, you're like, oh, magic Man just.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Gets better and better.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
All right, Kevin, Well, nice job, You've got yourself two
tickets to see Heart at the Chase Center August tenth.
It's all courtesy of Live Nation. Tickets on sale now
at Ticketmaster. And we'll do this again all week long.
Seven chants here on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
All right, it's Selena and it is eight oh seven.
Good morning, the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Core.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
We've been talking this morning about my pizza dilemma? Are
those Is that the term we're calling this, Caroline, I.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Was saying pizza making struggles, but it's the same thing. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Yeah, So a few months ago, I decided I was
going to perfect homemade pizza using my oven, using a
pizza stone. And it's been a struggle because I keep
on my dough keeps sticking to the pizza stone.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
You've had so much trouble that when we talked about
this a couple of weeks ago, the following words came
out of your mouth. I'm sick of eating pizza that's
not cooking properly, and to the point where you gave
up on trying to perfect the pizza because you were
so burned out. I gave up on my dream of
perfecting pizza at home, my dream. But we may have
a solution for you, kay and pleasanton good morning, my

(15:54):
home court.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
I like to do just individual English muffin pizzas.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Oh, I love English muffin pizzas.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
I love a good English a pizza.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Yeah. Try, you're gonna love it.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Yeah no, it's I mean I could go. I love
I love English muffins by themselves. But slapping cheese and marinara.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Sauce and some pepperoni's on that you got, Oh, I
guess you could do those on a pizza stone.

Speaker 4 (16:21):
Just another suggestion.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
It's kind of a modified French bread pizza, like remember
the French bread pizzas that. Yes, it's kind of the
same idea as that.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
All right, Okay, I just realized I nailed bobally this morning.
I just came up with stofers. I've had a lot
of pizza in my life. Clearly out of the box.
It sounds like it.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
And there is nothing wrong with that.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Carolyn, Thank you, k.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
That's the well found. You have your vegetables, your meat,
You're all good.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
There's one piece of spinach fits on an English muffin pizza.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Ca.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
But you know what, technically it's spinach. It's a vegetable.
Healthy have a good day.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
The problem I'm having with this now, though, Carolyn, is
that how many of those English muffin pizzas would I
have to eat in order to get my fill?

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Oh gosh, we'd eat six of those at a time.
Because you cut the English muffin in half, they become
two two. But that's technically one English muffin and you
can't fit that much stuff on the top of it.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
And is that even like a slice? That would that
be considered just one slice? Or is that like a
half of a slash?

Speaker 1 (17:30):
I mean, in my brain, if I lay it down
and look at it like a piece of pizza, I
think two halves of an English muffin is one English
muffin is one slice of pizza in my brain, So
you could have twelve halves six pieces of pizza, which
is which is average for me. I love pizza, Sha,
It's so good. I saw a guy over the weekend

(17:52):
eating a piece of pizza and he had it you
know how you roll it up like a taco sort of,
and I was like, that just looks so good, so solid.
That's a alli pizza eater right there. That's a pro
great technique.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
I know.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
We're at eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. Send us your talkbacks with our iHeartRadio app.
Just push that microphone button on the app next to
the play button. That's how you send us a message.
It comes right away to the studio.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Something else we would love for you today to do
on this Monday is think about the good and great
people in your life, because we are once again looking
for a new Morning Breeze Person of the Week.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
I loved our person of the week this past week,
Kathleen nominating her daughter Tonay. Yeah, because Today has stepped
up and taken care of her sister when her mom
wasn't able to and just that mother daughter bond and
Kathleen finally getting a chance to thank Today, and she
did it in front of all of our Breeze listeners. Like,
I loved that person of the week. It's a great

(18:47):
example of what we try to do every Friday morning.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Yeah, it could be again, somebody in your life like
Today and Kathleen, like a family member, but could also
be a coworker, could be a coach that maybe is
looking after your kids, or somebody that you've actually had
ten twenty years ago that just really impacted your life.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
In a great way. We've had people that volunteer and
they nominate other volunteers. I mean, sky's the limit. So
who is that person that stands out for you, that
you feel like is always doing good for others? We
want to hear about them. We make the announcement every
Friday morning, just after seven o'clock here on the Breeze,
so plenty of time get those nominations into us. At
ninety eight one, the Breeze dot com
