Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on Demand. Good morning,
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. We've got a fun
one for you today, Morning Breeze, Brain Tease. We do
it every weekday morning at this time. You say that
as if they're not always fun. They are, Court, but
this one I really am enjoying today. I can't wait
for these guesses. So okay. It is sponsored by Mike

(00:22):
Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in clean hands with Mike Council Plumbing.
You can see them online at mc plumbing dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
The younger you are, the less likely you are to
use this at a hotel.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
All right, let's see what everybody thinks. Eight seven seven
nine eight one oh nine eight one. That's how you
reach us. We've got Gail in San Jose holding Gail.
What do you think the answer is.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
This s bah or workout room?

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Yeah, because you don't need to when you're young. You're
just like I look amazing. I'm gonna go have a
million drinks and eat whatever I want or and I'm
gonna call out my wife on this.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Every trip she goes on, she always packs workout clothes,
and those workout clothes and her body never make it
into the the workout raw yeah, yeah, never happens for sure. Vacation, Yeah,
you're on a trip.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Is that the answer? It's not the answer? Break yeah,
all right, all right, Gale, have a good rest of
your week and a good holiday weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Cedric and san Mateo, what do you think the answer is?

Speaker 4 (01:21):
The shower?

Speaker 1 (01:22):
The shower? Wait, that's hilarious. That'd be like, that's how
it is. If I go to a hotel with my brothers,
They're like, I didn't bring shampoo or anything. I'm good,
I'm just not going to shower. I was thinking the
other way on this. I was like, what are they
taking a bath? What? No, what are you? What's your
thought behind this? Cedric?

Speaker 5 (01:42):
Not taking you know, you're so busy, you're running around.
You're young, and you don't you want to spend the
time in the hotel to you know, take a shower
until you figure you know what, little you here, little
Colonne there?

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Yeah yeah, great, cover it up and off you go.
Some logic behind it. Not the correct answer, though.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Unfortunately, the younger you are, the less likely you are
to use the front desk, oh checking in, checking out,
going and asking them for stuff like I don't want
to talk to somebody, bang it.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
That is so on point. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
And I know a lot of a lot of hotels
now allow you to check in digitally, so you don't
even have to go to the front desk.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Oh really, I didn't know that. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
For the younger folk, they're loving this.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
They need to do that in Vegas because every hotel
I walk into in Las Vegas, the line is out
the front door.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Oh yeah, of course, three time. Not if you go
to a Hilton property digital check in. Oh really you
know this for fai, Yeah, Hilton's the way to go.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
I think get a little kickback from the Hilton.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
There good, no no kickback here at all, Cedric. All right, Cedric,
have a good day, have a good holiday weekend. It
is the morning Breeze brain Teason. We do it every
weekday morning at six Way. I will tell you this though,
when I have gone to Hilton properties and there's and
like some sort of.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Issue, are you seriously shouting off a Hilton again, I'm
shouting them. I'm just saying, yeah, sometimes there's an issue,
you have to go to the desk. Yeah, and what
an inconvenience that is? Oh, I'm so sorry for your
troubles when you're staying in a Hilton on vacation.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
They have bucks of different properties, different price points, something
for everybody.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
And no, I'm not receiving any sort of kickback at all.
See them online at Hilton dot com. All right, So
coming up just about an hour from now. We do
this every weekday morning. It is ask us Anything. Yeah.
And what we love so much about ask us Anything
is we kind of get to turn the show over
to you and let you reach out to Wes and say, hey,
we've got a question for you now, hotshots.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
It's almost as if you're driving the show. You're driving
the ship.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
It's really fine. Yeah, anything on your mind could be
about the show, could be about just anything going on
in life that you're curious about. You want our opinion,
sort of some sort of tiebreaker with something you've got
going on with your friends. We are here to answer
your questions. Get them in now. You can send us
a talk back with our iHeartRadio app. You can call
us eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one,

(04:07):
but of.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Course be sure to join us an hour from now,
seven twenty five. Ask us anything here on the morning Breeze.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
And birth Brees. It's roverta Flat killing me softly with
his song six forty two Morning Breeze with Carolyn and kor. So.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I've got a parenting question, but I don't think you
need to be a parent in order to be able
to contribute to help answer this question. Oh, okay, bring
it all. As you know, I am the father of
two daughters. Yes, I almost said two teenage daughters, but
I have a twenty year old. That's so crazy living
in now. So I've got a seventeen year old and
a twenty year old. Okay, they're both you know, at
home for the summer, huh, and they both have summer jobs.

(04:46):
But at the same time, my wife and I are like,
there's stuff to do around this house. We need to
give these girls some summer chores.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
So we've got like a sign nights for unloading the dishwasher,
loading the dishes, different little tasks around the house.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Like the girls have to do certain nights, yes, and have.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
To contribute because we were we are reaching the strange
stage of life where they're starting to feel more like
roommates to us.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yes, because they're older, right, kids, and they're more than
capable of emptying the dishwasher or doing their own laundry.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Which are some things that they did when they were younger.
But now it's just kind of like, hey, look like
we're all contributing members to this household.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
That must be a very weird transition. I never thought
about that. It's very straight.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah, to the point where I'm like, if you don't
start contributing here, I'm going to start charging rent. Oh
my gosh, you're such a dad, because when you're younger,
you can give them those little, those smaller tasks and
feel good about it. But now like they're and it's
cute then right, you're like, hey, Sloan, you want to
empty the dishwasher, And now it's like, Sloan, now empty
the dishwasher. You have to do it every Tuesday at Thursday.

(05:52):
But then you start feeling bad because, for example, especially Quinn,
Quinn's Quinn's home for the summer and she's working almost
a full time job. So she's going to work in
the morning and she's coming home in the evening and
she's tired. And then they're like, hey, by the way,
you've got some dusting to do.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Guess what though, so are you. So is Randy.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
But that's I think that's the struggle of a parent,
is you're just you want Yeah, you're too close to it.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
I want to take care of your little babies. I'm
glad you're asking this advice because of course you want
to be a dad and you want to take care
of your little babies. But they are especially Quinn. She's twenty.
She's an adult. They need to be functioning adults. And
when she's out on her own, eventually she's going to
have to do this at her own place. Totally is
so this is good practice. You're doing the right thing.

(06:39):
It's just hard because you love her so much and
you want her forever to be your little girl. But
she's twenty. Yeah, so sorry, Quinn.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
And I'm always the guy where like, even when it's
their night to unload the dishwasher and load it, I'll
be like, I'll be like, just just unload it.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I'll load it.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
You are.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Just half of an adult. You are such a dad. I
love it. It makes you.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
It does make you think back though, when you had
very specific summer chores.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Oh you had to do? Yeah, I remember my mom
would entice us by and I'm going to use this
term loosely paying us. Yeah, twenty five cents an hour
to weed the backyard. Well, when you're a kid back
and back in the eighties, and I'm like, I'm going
to spend all day out there, I put on my swapsuit,
get a tan, go weed that backyard. I'd make a

(07:25):
whole like three dollars that day.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
See, I was also put my dad had always had
like a vegetable garden, and so he expected us to
go weed a few rows every single day. Oh and
we were not paid. That was just the expectations. You
just got home from work that that garden had been weeded.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Well. See, now, the weeding that we did in the backyard,
we only got paid for that. Everything else around the
house we had to do for free, but dusting and
the vacuuming and all that regular t Yeah, we asked
that question. By the way, I saw that you put
that up on our Facebook page this morning about summer chores,
and I love that people are chiming in on this.
And it's everything you would kind of expect, right, A
lot of lawing taking place, a lot of lawnmowing, laundry,

(08:03):
cleaning your room, Tisa worked at her family business. I'm like,
you were working early. Yeah, so good for you. But yeah,
join that conversation on our Facebook page. When you were younger,
what were your summer chores? That's ninety eight one of
the Breeze on Facebook or call us eight seven seven
one nine eight one.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
It's the morning Race with Carolyn and Court and halland
Oates here at seven o seven, and that means it's
time for the brighter side. This is where you share
the good and positive things happening in your life. In Carolyn,
I've pulled up my handy list here, oh of things
in your life that may be a brighter side. In
case you're looking for a reason to call us.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I think you wowed people with this yesterday. Is this
going to be a different list? I've got more.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
You have booked a trip or a vacation, even if
it's a small one, perfect, we want to hear about it.
That's a brighter side. You're having a moment of pure peace,
something you wouldn't know about, Carolyn.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
But if you are, Wow, I just act it came
out a left field. Oh, like I'm annoying you a
little bit?

Speaker 5 (08:57):
This?

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Oh okay, how about this, you've realized how far you've come,
even if it's just a little bit, and you want
to share the news.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Oh I love that.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
One great reason for you to call us eight seven
seven nine eight one nine eight one. You can also
share your brighter sides on our by using the talkback
feature on our free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (09:15):

Speaker 1 (09:28):
So this morning's sprider side out of Massachusetts, a man
named Sylvester plays the lottery all the time. Yeah, and
Sylvester used to work in a building and his building
elevator would stop at floors two, six, ten, fourteen, and eighteen.
So what do you think happens? Sylvester goes in, buys

(09:50):
a lottery ticket, says, you know what, I used to
work in this building. Yeah, we're My elevator only stopped
at these five floors. I'm going to use those floors
as my numbers to play the lot Guess what he
matched all five. Oh wow, June twenty six, drawing Sylvester
in Massachusetts is now three hundred thousand dollars richer. Isn't

(10:10):
that cool? That's pretty great? Yeah, just such a random
Like who would have thought, Oh, my elevator stops at
these five floors. I'm gonna use that to play the lottery.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
I have heard that that's the better way to go
about playing the lottery is as I typically when I've
done a lot of lotto ticket like, I've just done
the random quick draw. Yeah, random numbers, because I figure
that's the best way to go. But I've heard when
you actually choose numbers, that's there are better odds if
you're choosing numbers. So really, why not choose something that's specialty?

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Yeah? I like that, Like, I know a lot of
people use birthdays or like anniversaries. Yeah. Yeah. So this
guy went to the lotto headquarters picked up his prize.
They said, how are you going to use your winnings?
He said, I'm a big Boston Red Sox fan Massachusetts,
but I want to go to an away game. Oh yeah,
and so that's how he's going to do it. I
think that's really cool. That's a really great writer side.
I think that's a great eight brighter side. But like

(11:01):
Court said, if you have one that you're listening to
the story and you were inspired, not that you won
the lottery, but you're like, hey, I've had some good
stuff happen to me. It really could be anything. I've
got a whole list I know in you guys, he
does I see that list. It looks and he's got
some check mark. So let's I think we all know
that more examples are coming in future Brighter Side, so
we can't wait to be wowed by that. But if
you have a brighter side for us eight seven seven

(11:23):
nine eight one oh nine eight one, or send us
a talk back with our iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
And coming up in just a few minutes seven twenty five,
it's a chance for you to ask us anything anything
on your mind, You have anything you want to ask
us about here on the show, or just a general
life question.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Yeah, we would love to answer those questions. Sky's the
limit with the questions. We will literally answer anything. So
give us a call eight seven seven nine eight one
oh nine eight one, ask us anything coming up seven
twenty five, it's Stevie Wonder and it is seven twenty six.
Good morning, Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. We do
it every morning at this time. Ask us anything and

(11:59):
we love. I have to say love the questions that
are coming in. Yeah, people asking us everything under the sun,
like all different topics.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
One would say a great variety.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Carolyn one might say that, yeah, so keep your questions
coming for ask us anything. You can send us a
talk back with our iHeartRadio app. You could certainly call
us at eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
All right, Michael in San Francisco, ask us anything.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
Would you two snap at someone to get their attention?

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Oh no, no, yeah. Never you do the head nod.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
You might raise your trend in your hand, just like hey,
just to make sure they see you you're ready to order.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
Other than that, wave them down.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
I walked out on a date with a guy. We
were sitting at the bar and he snapped at the
bartender and was like hey, yeah, and I was so mortified.
I was like I have to leave. I was done.
Absolutely no, never snap.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
Go on the most simple cat yuill you know, drinks,
you know, small bit tea, whatever, Just pay close attention
how that person treats weight staff, Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Love it. Thank you Michael for calling you guys, have
a great day, you.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Two, Michael. So hey, here's the question, Carolyn. Though you're
at a restaurant. They've sat you down, you've got your menu,
and the waiter, the server disappears. Now again, you're not
snapping at them to get there. No, but it's been
a while and you're like, you're really hungry.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Excuse me, have you seen our waiter?

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Excuse me, very sheepishly asking. It's a silent verbal snap.
At a certain point, you kind of have to take
matters into your own hands. You ask a waiter that's
actually bustling around, like, have you seen our waiter?

Speaker 1 (13:50):
It's all in the approach, though, but you don't never
at somebody never it's all bad. Yeah. Yeah, that's a
good question though, And that's exactly what ask us anything
is about. It could be anything, and that was a
great example of that. So if you've got a question
for us eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one, you can send us a talkback as we
always love getting your talkbacks. Use our iHeartRadio app and

(14:12):
that microphone button right next to the play button on our.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
App, that's right, and a reminder to join us later
in the show eight point fifty. As you begin your workday,
we're going to give you ninety eight minutes of non stop,
commercial free, relaxing favorites.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Definitely a fantastic way to start off your day, whatever
you have going on. We know a lot of people
are working at home this week, and I'll probably be
working at home a little less tomorrow. We're doing working
in quotations. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but we're commercial free at
eight fifty right here for ninety eight minutes on the Breeze.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
It's Beyonce here on ninety eight point one The Breeze,
The Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
It's eight oh eight. Court. Do you want to improve
the quality of your sleep?

Speaker 4 (14:51):
Sure?

Speaker 1 (14:52):
You don't want to have to sleep in separate beds
or separate rooms from your partner. You know how that
goes when you're sharing a bed and one person sleeps
hot the other person's cold. Like, do you guys have
an issue with this?

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Well, typically no, but there has been times where, like
my wife just really needs a good night's sleep, she'll
actually go to our guest room and she'll sleep in
a different room.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
We call it the dungeon.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
We don't call it the dungeon, but it's cold in there,
it's dark, and it's just a great place to sleep.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
It is a dungeon. It's a dungeon. That's a fair,
fair thing to call it. Okay. So there was this
new sleep hack or sleep method that everybody's talking about.
It's called this Scandinavian sleep method. And what it is
is it involves you both having separate covers in bed.
Oh okay, So by having separate covers you can control

(15:42):
the temperature, of course, because like maybe you want the
comforter and the blanket and Randy doesn't, maybe she just
wants a sheet. Well, you now eliminate that because you
each have your own covers.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
So when you say covers, are we talking all the
way down to the to the sheets, all the way down?
Everything separate covers. Picture like base two twin beds almost
pushed together except for the fitted sheet, right like that
that's common.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Everything else is separate. Yes, you eliminate all the tugging
and the hogging of the blanket, the duvet, the bed spread.
They say it's a win win because you get better
sleep without having to abandon your partner in bed. No
more dungeon for you, Okay, possibly possibly we're at eight
seven seven nine eight one. Sue in Santa Rosa. You

(16:26):
went on a cruise and you said you had like
a similar experience when we went on the cruise.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
They originally had us set up with a king sized bed. Well,
what we didn't realize is they break it down into
two singles. Because I says, I can't sleep in the same.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
Bait with it. You have to do something about that.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
They can separate those, Yes, they could separate them. So
we had two twins, which is absolutely perfect for me.
That way I have my thing, he has his thing.
That's sleeping in the same bed. Thing is way overrated.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
That's exactly what it is, though, that that's the Scandinavian
sleep method that they were doing. But here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
A lot of people eventually graduate to king size beds
with the idea that there's plenty of room to spread out.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
There's not. It really feels that way. I have a
Cali king and I feel crowded in there if somebody
else is in there. Yeah, yeah, I know.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
It's really interesting like we have because we just have
a regular king. It's my wife and I and then
we have two dogs, yea, and the way they sleep,
they're either on top of us or they're spread through
the middle. I'm still sleeping right on like the the
right three inches of that bed.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
That that's where I sleep. I don't know if the
Scandinavian sleep method could help you when dogs are involved.
I just know for two people laying in bed, it's
good for that a home to talk.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
To these Scandinavian countries and people and find out what
the solution is when a dog is in bed.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
All right, we'll reach out to them after the show
and see what they say, and then we'll follow up
with on the air.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
Here.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Put some phone calls into Norway and Sweden though right.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
We're in eight seven seven, nine nine eight, and send
us a talk back to anytime with our iHeartRadio apps.
So many people using the talkback and we are really
enjoying your messages that are coming through, so keep them coming.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
We certainly are and coming up later this hour eight
fifty as you begin your workday, we're giving you ninety
eight minutes of non stop commercial, free relaxing favorites.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Yas Court said, that's coming up later this hour. Great
way to start your day, whether you're in the office
or lucky you maybe you have the day off. Either way,
we are going to be commercial free at eight fifty
for ninety eight minutes on the Breeze
