The Morning Breeze, Morning Breeze on Demand. That's a flute, right, Yes,
it's a flu That might be a piccolo, might be
a picklo. That's it's in the flute family. It almost
sounds like a pan flute in a weird way. It
possibly might be not enough pan flute and piccolo and
(00:20):
flute with you. We're big on our wood. That's part
of the woodwind instrument. Yes, right are they? Yeah, it's
a flute. It's a flute. Yeah, A good job. Pat
myself on the back. Oh, we could start our day now,
Jackson Here at six twenty ninety eight point one The Breeze.
You've got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cordon and
(00:41):
As we try to get our brains moving by thinking
about piccolos and flutes. We try to help get your
brain moving with the Morning Breeze Brain Teas. It's sponsored

what is our question? One more time for the brain teas.
Today the average person deals with thirty five of these
(01:01):
or think about it, about three of them a month.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Okay, eight seven, seven nine eight one oh nine to
eight one. That's how you reach us, Pat and El Sirito.
You've got a guess. What is your guest this morning?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
People? I don't like.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Oh, that's like a hundred for me, one hundred a
month or hundred a year. You pick either or you
pick yeah. I feel like the older, the older you get,
the harder it is to be nice. Nice to some people.
You think it would be easier, but it doesn't.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
I don't try, darling.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
What good does it do?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Second?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Peace?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Right there, I'm not going to try to take the punk.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Great answer, but not the correct one today.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Okay, I'll take care now bye.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Good morning the breeze. Who's this?
Speaker 4 (01:57):
My first name is Sean. I'm actually driving to the airport.
You're in Virginia. Oh and it's your vacation.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Oh how fun. Okay, so Court, let's give her the
question again. The average person will deal with thirty five
of these every year, or think about it this way,
about three of these a month.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Oh that's a really good one. Like is it in
relation to something specifically?
Speaker 1 (02:21):
That's a tough I just saw the answer.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
This is a tough one to give a hint on yeah, okay,
that's okay.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
It's something that you handle, something that happens to you
that you handle that too much of a tease. That's
a good tease.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Okay, yeah, Oh my gosh, it.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
May happen on your body.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Body related ooh maybe a temple or.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Yeah, no, I mean as a teenager, definitely, me as
an adult, definitely timbs as a teenager, I triple that temple.
The answer we're looking for, the average person will deal
with thirty five scrapes or bruises every year.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Oh my gosh. I should have known that just from
my husband bumping into things and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
So oh, I love that. You're like you put it
on him, and You're like, I'm fine, it's him. Are
they traveling solo?
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Sean, No, I'm with my husband and we're actually about
to pull up to our terminal.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
All right, thank you for listening, and take us with
you on our iHeartRadio app when you get home.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Okay, awesome, thank you, all.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Right, right, safe travels, bye you guys. That was so fun.
It was and I think I might be a first
where we actually kind of helped somebody along. Sometimes we
have to. Sometimes these questions are tricky gave more clues
than we probably should have. I disagree. I think it
was perfect. All right, Morning Brease brain Teas.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
You can play along every weekday morning here at six
twenty on the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Coming up this morning seven thirty five, once again, another
chance for you to win those tickets to see Barry
Manilow coming to the Oakland Arena in just to see.
How may do the math? Here July eighteenth, next wait, wait,
what is that? That's next weekday, next Friday. What is
happening to this month? Oh my gosh, it's in ten days. Yeah,
be here at seven thirty five for your chance to
(04:23):
go see Barry on the Breeze. The Breeze.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
It's Phil Collins six forty one. Good morning, it is
the Morning.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Breeze with Carolyn and Cord, and it's that time of
the morning where it's time for us to deliver a
brand new feature under the name of The More You Know.
I know this has been I'm stalling for time because
there it is The More You Know. I'm a little slow.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
On the uptake. The Giants game was a little later
than expected us, and that's true, but we've also been
having some minor technical difficulties behind the scenes, nothing to
affects this show. It's a great day.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
It is a great day. It's a great day.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
The more you know, yes, and the more you know
we did we just started this last week.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
It is so fun.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
It's kind of where we bring you information that you
kind of after hearing it, you're like, no kidding.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yeah, and that, And then when you find yourself next
to the water cooler at work later today, did you know?
I know? And you could share this a little bit
of information. Here's the thing. You don't even have to
give us credit. Just take it and you run with
it and you enjoy your day. Sometimes we don't want credit.
Oh and you know they always say if you steal
from us, you've stolen twice.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
YEA.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
So I was talking about warm glasses of milk before
you go to bed. My mom used to always recommend
that go go heat it up on the stove. Don't
don't get it crazy hot.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
I've my mom has never recommended that. That's mostly because
she lived off of diet right and tab okay, but sure,
you know I remember on TV hearing like families like
the Brady but.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
They always if you walk into the kitchen. Yeah, and
little Peter Brady's and they're warming up some milk. You
can't sleep, huh, Yeah, I gotta get that warm glass, Peter. Well. So,
new research shows that dairy close to bedtime is bad
for sleep and actually causes nightmares. Really, but it's not
(06:15):
just dairy. Desserts like sweets, spicy foods, meat, cereals, and
then especially dairy lead to bad dreams and poor sleep.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
I got home from the Giants game last night. I
wanted a bowl of cereals so badly. Yeah I didn't,
and now I'm glad I might have had nightmare.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
That's a double. It's got two of them in it,
dairy and the cereal touched a bullet. Yeah. They say
certain foods really can affect sleeping dreams, especially the types
of foods and when you eat them obviously close to bed,
leading to nightmares.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
I could see meat not being a great food right
before bed, because your body has to work so hard
to break that down.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Sure, and then you might get the meat sweats in bed.
It's bad enough sweating in bed, but if you get
the meat sweats in bed, sure you're done. Now you
might be asking yourself, Hey, Carolyn, Hey, Court, I'm having
a bad time sleeping and what can I take in
order to sleep better? Well, I'm here to help with okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, great,
A delicious apple, so fruit, boring veggies, and herbal teak.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
I'm going to roll the dice on the sweat and
I don't know that's interesting though. Okay, so they avoid
that warm milk before bedte debunks. Yeah, we're at eight
seven seven, nine, eight, one ninety eight one. Maybe somebody
listening is you know there's something that they eat before
but it super helps them go to sup. Yeah, we'd
love to hear from you your sleep hacks and coming
(07:43):
up this morning at seven thirty five. We started this yesterday.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
We are doing it every day this week, and we
are so excited because Barry Manilow is coming to town.
He's doing a couple of shows, one at the SAP
Center in San Jose, one in Oakland on July eighteenth.
He's not calling he's his farewell He's not calling it
the farewell Tour, but he is saying his final shows
in San Jose and his final show in Oakland. So
I think we can read between the lane.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Berry's hanging it up. But he still plays all the hits.
He still sounds fantastic, and we want to send you
to his show in Oakland on July eighteenth. So be
here at seven thirty five for your chance to win
on the.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Breeze seven o seven with Alicia Keys here on ninety
eight point one the Breeze. You've got the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Court and it is time now for
the Brighter Side. So he pausites for just a moment,
talk about the good stuff, the positive things happening in
your life, because you know, Carolyn, things that are a
positive and joyous are also contagious. Oh and that's something
(08:39):
that we want to share that we want to spread.
The Brighter Side is sponsored by streaming company, Luxury time Pieces,
Fine Designers and Flawless Diamonds. You can call us with
your Brighter Sides. Eight seven seven nine eight one nine
eight one.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
So it's Sophie in Walnut Creek and you wanted to
talk to us about somebody that we've been talking about
a lot on the air this week. That person is
very Manelow and you actually know Very Manilo.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's in the desert and his partner
is the ceo of the theater that I love down there,
no way, yeah, yeah, yeah, Palm Desert. It's called the
McCallum Theater and my friend was the former ceo.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
I love that. I'm a big fan.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Okay. It opens in November. You'll probably see him there.
He'll perform benefit concert I think in December. Very performs
for like three days, oh wow, and like three different charity.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
What's your go to? Like Very Manilow hit If you
had to choose one song, what would it be?
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Oh, can't Smile without You?
Speaker 1 (09:39):
I agree? A good one. Such a good choice. He
has so many.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
He's a jewel. He's a treasure.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Don't you want to put him in your pocket and
just take him with you wherever you go. I'm sure
he would love hearing this. But I think he actually
does fit in pockets.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
He does.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
He's tiny.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Yeah. The cool thing is that he's a very very
down to earth and very reclusive in the desert. He's
not all showy like some of them. He's just really
a man's men. But every night he insists I'm doing
a different charity. There's a lot of mediate children in
the desert. To do one for the children on one night,
Like every night he picks a different charity. So he's
(10:17):
just very philanthropic and very kind hearted.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
So do you live in the desert part of the time,
but you know so much about Barry, who we love
so much.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
This is great intel.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Just you know, I think a lot of people always
wonder are the people that they grew up singing along
with and that there they look at them as like stars,
right Verry is you hope that they are good people?
Speaker 1 (10:38):
And you're telling us he really is a good guy.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
He is, and his husband is equally as good, and
he took over a very difficult role and he's now
chairman of the number one theater down there, bringing an
amazing talent and doing great things for these Berry's mamateur.
So we get to have that treasure light in our
little desert.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
I love that you were miss a treasure. He really is.
He really is.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
He is one of a kind, and you know, they
don't make him like him, So we've got to just
enjoy all what we can.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
We sure do. Thanks for calling in this morning and
giving us kind of a different perspective on Barry Manilow. Yeah,
that was fun.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
I love your show.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Love Barry Manilo, Me too, Me too. That was really fun.
I always love hearing from people that have celebrity interactions
and then you hear it's kind of like I've referred
to a minute ago, that you hear that the celeb
is cool, they're just as nice as you. Hope they will.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Hope they will. And by the way, Barry Manilo. The
reason that we've been talking about Barry Manilow this week
so much and we'll continue to is we have a
chance to win tickets here on the Breeze all week
long on the Morning Breeze.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
In fact, we're just minutes away, coming up at seven
thirty five. I'm looking at the clock right now, it's
seven eleven right now, Carolyn, I can't I can't do
the math twenty four minutes, twenty four minutes. Sure, I
don't know. I can't do the mask radio twenty four
minutes from this very moment. Your chance to win those
tickets see Barry Manilow here on the Morning Breathe.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Such a great song, Loggins and Messina. It's seven twenty
a good morning. It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Court every weekday morning at this time, seven twenty five.
We do ask us anything. We love your questions. Keep
them coming. People writing in all the time asking us questions.
You can also send them with our iHeartRadio app. Give
us a call eight seven seven nine eight one nine
(12:23):
eight one, no secrets here. You can literally ask us
anything about anything and we will answer it on the
air here on the breeze.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
And we've got a good one today. This one was
emailed to us. Sandra and Petaluma wrote, I think my
house might have a ghost. I'm oh curious. Oh yeah,
I'm curious to know if you have ever seen a ghost.
Have I ever seen a ghost? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (12:47):
No, but oh my friends, Okay, the dad passed away
years ago, this high school friend. I go to their
house all the time. The dad passed away years ago,
and a friend of mine that lives there now said,
the dad at night, his ghost. She's seen it in
the house.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Oh, so you know somebody who has seen it. I
know somebody who's seen a ghost. And she swears by it,
she said, not just once, multiple times. I'm a believer
because I don't think she will lie about that. A
lot of people like have have had experiences where they
have felt a presence a spirit, in the home. Yeah,
you know this a daily reoccurrence of something. Yes, so yeah,
(13:28):
certainly I have had a scary moment with a with
a dark shadowy figure. What happened. I had fallen asleep
on the couch watching TV, probably mash and I woke
up and I looked over at the doorway into my
kitchen and this it was. I don't know, it was
like this dark shadowy figure. I've described it as mothman.
(13:49):
Are you sure it wasn't like I don't want to
be much meat? No, it could have been too much meat.
It could have it could have been. But it scared me.
And here I am a twenty something year old. I
jumped out of off. They ran into my bed, put
the covers over my head and said a few prayers.
Oh wow, scary that the story house, the house speak
(14:09):
had become super cold at the time. M scary.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
You know.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
We put this question on our Facebook page at ninety
eight one of the Breeze asking you do you believe
in ghosts? And I would say the majority of people
say they do, but they believe more in spirits and
they've had experiences of spirits, not necessarily ghosts. So yeah,
it's an interesting read to read through all these comments.
A couple of people said, yes, I've seen ghosts. So
how do you feel about this? Eight seven seven nine,
(14:36):
eight one ninety eight one. Have you had an experience
with a spirit or a ghost where you would say
for sure there's something out there. You can also send
us a talk back with our iHeartRadio app. But that
is exactly how ask Us Anything works. We do it
again every morning at this time. You call us and
ask us the questions, We answer them here on the
air at the Breeze. And of course just joined that
conversation on our Facebook page as well.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Over we are talking about ghosts. Hey, and just a
few moments, we're gonna give away tickets to see Barry Manilow,
who by is coming to the Oakland Arena next Friday, Yeah,
July eighteenth. He will be there. Obviously, he has a
huge catalog of hits, and I've seen him enough times
in concert to tell you he plays them all. And
he wrote we were talking about this yesterday. He wrote
(15:18):
a lot of jingles for television, like way back in
the day, and he sings a lot of those. He
does like a little jingle medley usually during his show.
He's so good. My favorite part of the shows isn't
band aid one of the ones I got bandaids because
band aids. Yeah, I think he did. Yeah, I think
he did that. That just popped in my head. Is
it a ghost? Oh my gosh?
Speaker 2 (15:37):
All right, seven thirty five, your chance to win Barry
Manilow tickets.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Just a few minutes on the breeze. Hi, good morning
the breeze. Who is this? This is Lydia, Lydia, you
got big plans for next Friday, July eighteenth, only if
I win the tickets. Some good news for you. You
are color ten. You've just won.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Are you serious?
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Oh my gosh. I was just a talking to a
friend of ours and she was to ask Aamie, are
you gonna.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
Go to Barry Maniloe? And I said, only by winning
the tickets? And she goes, welcome with you.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Oh well, now you better. I hope you keep your promises, Lydia.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
I will, I will, Okay?
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Good? All right? Where are you listening to us?
Speaker 3 (16:16):
I'm un pleasant hill.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Okay, We've got a couple of tickets for you Barry
Man Oakland Arena.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
It's July eighteenth. By the way, we were talking this morning.
That is like next Friday, just round the corner. That's right,
I know, I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
It's all courtesy of Outback Presents. You are welcome. Tickets
on sale now at ticket Master. We're going to do
this again tomorrow morning, and the next day and the
next day. Seven thirty five here on the breeze.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
I'm going to call my friend right now and let
it know we're going. She gets is a bet.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
So we've been doing this for twenty years, going to
the airport, going to TSA, taking our shoes off, walking
through the screening process, and then that uncomfortable where you
have to put your shoes back on. Kids.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Let me tell you something, as you get older, I
used to be able to do the one shoe on
when I bent over, put my shoe on, and I
could just stand there and balance on one leg, do
it in one take. Now I'm that person that goes
over to the bench with all the other older people, yeah,
to put my shoe on. But the point is, and
sometimes that bench, by the way is full. Mostly find
(17:22):
a spot of people you'll notice are the same age
as you. Yeah. Anyway, So we've been doing this for
twenty years taking our shoes off. Well, they just broke
this news this morning that after twenty years, airline passengers
are now able to go through TSA keeping your shoes on.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
Slow clap time.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Well, it's at many major airports, but this news is everywhere,
which makes me think, Okay, it's at many major airports.
I'm literally reading this off of like ap breaking news,
so that says to.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Me that it's smaller airports. I've traveled through smaller airports
in night, didn't have to take my shoes off. I
feel like each airport's like if we feel like it
will enforce it. That is one of the most frustrating
things about Yeah, TSA. And this is no I'm not
getting after the TSA workers themselves, but like every airport
you go to, their policy is different. How you load
(18:16):
things into the bins, if they're even our bins. Do
I take my belt off? Do I leave it on?
What about my jacket? What about my watch? Yes? All right,
I did a few years ago. I finally got the
TSA pre check, so I haven't had to remove my
shoes in a long time. Okay, And as I'm going
through the TSA pre check sometimes every now and then
there's a newcomer, somebody new to the program who doesn't
(18:37):
realize they don't have to take off the shoes. Oh
new Yeah, I take the opportunity to say, hey, yeah,
keep those shoes off. I'm so happy about this, that
taking the shoes off thing. First of all, I cannot
believe we've been doing it for twenty years. If you
told me five, I'd be like, yeah, five. But it
gives me the heavy GBS like no other because you
everybody does it. You take your shoes off, and then
(19:00):
you look at the person's feet in front of you.
You're like, yep, I'm stepping in that. Not to mention
how many other people have walked through here. So this
actually starts on Sunday. Okay, So if you're going to
the airport today, you're gonna have to take your shoes
off tomorrow and the next day, but on Sunday you
should be good to go. Sothing to look forward to. Yeah,
so that is big news, and you heard it here
first on the Morning Breeze. Very nice.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Yeah, we're at eight seven seven nine one oh nine
eight one. It is a talkback Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
We encourage you to send us talkbacks with our iHeartRadio
app also encourage you to stick around because coming up
later in the show eight fifty helping you begin your workday,
We're going to give you ninety eight minutes commercial free.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
We talk to people all the time that say they
love listening to the Breeze while they work, and we
appreciate that. Thank you for making us a part of
your workday, having us on in the office. It's a
great way to start your day with NonStop, relaxing favorites. Yeah,
we'll start that commercial free and eight point fifty here
on the Breeze
