Speaker 1 (00:01):
So good haul and Ote six nineteen. Good morning, it
is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court, and it
is time for the Morning Breeze brain Tease. You know
by now that we do it every weekday morning at
this time, at six point twenty, A chance for you
to call us, take a guess, prove to us how
smart our audience is.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Shoot your shot. That's another way to say, give it
a guess.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Really came out of nowhere? Court, No, no, but I
like it.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
We'll add it to the repertoire. If you will, I will.
Morning Breeze Brain Teas sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're
in clean hands with Mike Counsel Plumbing. Visit them at
mc plumbing dot com. Seventy percent of us admit we
don't fully understand how to use all the features on this.
Here's the problem. There's so many things in my life,
(00:49):
right that this could be so many things.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Well, here's another way to think about it. Seventy percent,
which is a like a strong majority, agree that we
don't fully understand how to use all the features on this.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
So basically the same question.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Thanks, I just restated, I just slowed it down and
said it in a more confusing way.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Sure did all right? Eight seven seven nine eight one,
nine eight one. Good morning Kathy and Walnut Creek. I
can't wait for your guests. What do you think it is?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
I would say on a remote being remote?
Speaker 4 (01:27):
Are so check savvy? Now? TV remote?
Speaker 2 (01:31):
I look at it and I don't even know how
some of the buttons I mess that my TV half
the time.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
What percentage of the buttons on your TV remote do
you feel like you know how to use? Like there's
an A on there and a C and a D.
I'm like, what is this?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Right? But you know the volume?
Speaker 4 (01:47):
You know the channel half of them?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah? Power power, that's another good power. Sometimes there's shapes.
They had weird shapes on the rice. Yeah. The volume.
Oh that's an easy one.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
This is a very solid guess by Kathy. It's very
well thought out. It's a very solid guess, and it's
the correct one.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
No way, adding TV remote is the exact because yah,
what are all these things do?
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Oh my god, you got it?
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
You know it's so rare that people get these. We
don't have prizes because we just there's really no need.
Just a what can we give Kathy, let's see our
utmost respect. Yeah, congratulations, Kathy, that's what we're giving you. Congratulations,
bragging rights for the day. Well, you go take the day,
you brag. You let people know I got the morning
(02:38):
Breeze brain tease. You kind of have carpe blanche today.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
There you go, first time. That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
We'll have a good day, you two.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
You guys, you take care.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yeah, it was well, Kathy. It's the morning Breeze brain
teas and we do it every weekday morning at this time,
and it's not very often where we have somebody just
nail it like that.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
I know, And it's funny. I was thinking while we
were talking to Kathy at my television remote. When my
remote becomes unpaired somehow with my soundbar. Sure, yeah, that's
a mess because then I'm online and I'm like pair
connect Infinity TV remote with Sony soundbar, and it's like
push the triangle and hold with the power button of
(03:19):
the TV for three seconds until it flashes and it's
all bad. I finally end up usually calling my brother
and saying, can you come fix my remote? That's everybody.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Everybody has that person in their family they call for
help when the remote doesn't work.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I feel like you're that guy. I actually am, absolutely
I have.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
We have one of these. It's a it's a fire TV,
but it's not just the which is the Amazon device
so you can watch all this. It's a smart TV okay,
but the remote is super simple. I think there's only
like six buttons on it, which almost makes it worse
because you will still options, there's still stuff. I'm like,
I don't know how this works. Where are the numbers?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah? Exactly, all right, Yes, Morning Breeze Brain Tea's as
cart said, we play every weekday morning here at six twenty.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
And coming up this morning. Don't forget seven thirty five.
More chances to win those Barry Manilo tickets as he
hits the stage July eighteenth, which is next Friday at
the Oakland Arena.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
I wish we had a chance to talk to Barry
to tell him how excited our audience has been. People
are calling well before seven thirty five to win these
tickets like they are jazz. So we love giving these
tickets away. We will continue to do so. Barry Manilo,
be here at seven thirty five your chance to win
on the Breeze.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and John
Lennon at six forty one, And now is the time
for that daily dose of randomness. We call it the
More You Know. Basically it's a random fact or some
information that you didn't know you need absolutely And this
one has to do with relationship breakups.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
You ever have that moment, and this is of course
I'm talking way before Randy Court. Sure, you need to
end a relationship, but you're not sure what to say
in your not sure how to end it?
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Well, I think you could so awkward. That applies to
not just romantic relationships. Sometimes you have friendships or relationships
with people. Sure, you're like, this needs the end.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Good point, Yeah, I mean it's one of the hardest
things in life. I think. Sure to come up with
the words so you don't hurt someone's feelings, to make
it not awkward, Well, leave it to kids. These days,
they've got kind of a hack that makes it easier
to have that awkward conversation. They're using ai oh to
(05:32):
come up with breakups speeches and excuses. As a matter
of fact, forty one percent of adults say they have
used ai to help end a relationship. Isn't that crazier
like chat GPT.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
My wife is. She runs her own business and she
realizes a little bit on the AI to get some
things done and just kind of help start some work. Yep.
And she was talking to my youngest daughter Sloan and
her friends who was going through a breakup or starting
starting to break up, thinking about breaking it. Yeah, but
she didn't know how to do it. So my wife,
(06:07):
Frandy was like, let's ask chet GPT what we should do.
She did, and it actually gave them a script of
how to do it. And I think they did it
over text because you know, they're still teenagers, so that, yeah,
that's the best way to communicate.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
For them, okay.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
And it was very gentle and very heart well heartfelt, oh.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Very kind, you know what.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
And he took it very easily.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
He was like, Okay, I try and fight the chat
GPT and the AI stuff because I you know, I
don't want the world to change. I don't want to
embrace this technology. But I will tell you to your
point of what you just said about how it's very thoughtful,
very gentle. I just typed in breakup speech. Here's the
first thing that comes up I've been thinking a lot
(06:51):
about us, and this is really hard for me to
say because I care about you and I respect you,
but I feel like we're not right for each other
in the long run. I think it's best for both
of us if we go our separate ways. Wow, that's
better than anything I would ever say. Here's how I
would do it. I don't even know how to say this,
(07:13):
Like it's just not working out and be it.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
It's not you, it's me. We go to the old
reliab Yes.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
I mean, And that is one example that just came
up in a matter of seconds, Court, There were like
four examples here.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah, you would hope that you would hope that we
as humans would be able to come up with the
ability to write nice things the way chat GPT did
and this is brilliant. Yeah, but not all of us
are that great at writing.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
No, I certainly am not. So do you know anybody
that has broken up with someone that used AI to
write the breakup speech? I mean, you do, Court. I
wonder if if our listeners do we're at eight seven
seven one oh nine eight one, or send us a
talk back with our iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
And on the way this morning, seven thirty five, just
under an hour from right now your next chance to
win those Bury Menilo tickets. He's coming to the Bay
Era two shows. We're sending you to see him in
Oakland on July eighteenth.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
It's going to be such a great show, chalked full
of hits for sure. I mean it's Barry Manilow. Yeah,
every song is a hit. So be here at seven
thirty five for your chance to win those tickets. On
the Breeze, it's Michael Bolton with a song you'll hear
only on the Breeze. The Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Cord at seven oh seven, and it is time for
the Brighter Side. We do it every weekday morning at
(08:24):
this time. We love when you call us and you
tell us about the good stuff that's happening in your life.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yeah, if it brings a smile to your face, those
are the good things, that's right, Cord, Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Freder Side sponsored by Shreeven Company, Luxury time Pieces, find
Designers and Flawless Diamonds.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Larry in San Francisco tell us your Brighter Side.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
Well, so I was just listening to your station and
you know the day's good things are happening in life.
You know, I was incarcerated and you know, I've been
up for about going on four months now. No, I've
I've gotten a job as like a case manager for
a nonprofit organization to how huge that you know are
(09:03):
homeless that are going to school. So definitely something big,
major that's happened in life.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Why for you, how long were you incarcerated for?
Speaker 4 (09:12):
Three months?
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Three months?
Speaker 5 (09:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:14):
How's that feel to be out and and have kind
of a clean start.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
Oh, it's amazing. You know, I've been through a rough
life and I feel like, you know, it's just you.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Know, one foot in front of the other and you're
sharing a perspective that I think, you know, obviously for
the people you're you're talking to, you can help them
out and kind of see, Yeah, there's different ways to
go about things, like you have the power to change
people's lives now.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Yes, definitely, And you know it's a blessing to be
able to do that, you know, and to have walked
a walk that some people have not, and you know,
and being able to see through their eyes. Now. For
I've been home with myself and I've gone through a
lot of things and being able to say, you know
what I've been there and I know how you feel
is a blessing and it really makes me fit for
(10:03):
this field.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Dam And yeah, you.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Have a sympathy and an empathy that many of us
just we can't connect with your experiences because we haven't
lived that way.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Right.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
We really appreciate you calling because I think your perspective
is important for people to hear. You know, people have
been incarcerated, when they when they get out of prison,
you know, we kind of never know what happens and
what's going through your minds. And so I appreciate you
calling and being so open with us and sharing this.
Thank you and way to go on, you know, making
the world a better place and having this changed mindset
(10:34):
to sure.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
Thank you. I really enjoyed listening.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
All right, keep going, Larry.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Larry is such a good example to all of us,
finding that bright side in life through his own life's
experiences and try to help people not make those same mistakes.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Absolutely, I really appreciate his call and that brighter side.
That was fantastic. If you have one for us, a
brighter side eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. And while we are on this is a
good time to remind people that we are looking for
our next Morning Breeze Person of the Week.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Yeah. People putting good out into the world, we want
to hear about them. That's the only way we can
find out about them is by you making that nomination
on our website for the Morning Breeze Person of the Week.
Head on over to ninety eight one The Breeze dot com.
Taylor Dane here at seven twenty seven. It's the Morning
Breeze with Carolyn and Court. You know the Internet made
Ama famous. Ask me anything. We're here to make ask
(11:28):
us anything famous. Oh. It's a chance for you to
call into the show or send us a talkback and
ask us anything that might be on your mind.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
I didn't realize the Internet made it famous.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
That's where it came about.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Did we steal it from the Internet. I thought we
came up with it on our brains.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
We stole it, Carolyn.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Oh, okay, that's good to know. Thanks Court. All right,
we take your questions via the phone eight seven seven
nine eight one oh nine eight one. We have people
slide into our DMS.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Right.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
We have talkbacks as well on our iHeartRadio app, which
you can do by pushing that microphone button on our
iHeartRadio app and speaking into it. And that's where today's
ask Us Anything came from.
Speaker 5 (12:07):
Hey, this is for the Morning Show.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
My name is Jill.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
I live in Berkeley and I'm a huge fan. I
wanted to submit a question for the ask Us Anything.
My question is tell me something horrible that has happened
to you on vacation. For example, my friends just got
back from Egypt and they both got food poisoning from
drinking the water. So tell me your story.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Oh whoa, that's tough to beat.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
I did have something happen on my birthday many years ago,
not your birthday today.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Which, by the way, it's Carolyn's birthday today.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Thank you courage.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
So I point that out.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
But this is totally coincidental that this story is about
another birthday. We were in Carmel vacationing our family was
when we were younger, and there was a Chevy's there
and I used to love Chevy's restaurant. So I was like,
we gotta go to you know when in car go
to chevy and on your birthday because they give you
that big sombrero. Right, I'm no dummy. Yeah, So we
(13:05):
go to Chevy's and I love fajtas, so I get
fijetas well. Remember Cheves, the fajetas would come on that platter.
Of course they're sizzling, but it was like a silver
it was like a platter. It was so hot, because
that's what metas do.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Well, I had rested my fork on the silver fajita tray.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
I know what's happening here, uh huh.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
And then I'm talking to my family.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Heat transfers happening, uh huh.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
And then I take a bite of whatever, and that
fork burn of my tongue so bad. For a minute,
I couldn't get the fork off my tongue.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
On your birthday, on vacation at Chevs in Carmel, Yeah,
so that was a bummer.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah, but I still ate the free dessert, so and
took the sombrero. So that is mine, What about you?
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Mine was years and years ago. I went to Italy
with my parents and I got I got.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
The flute in Italy.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
In Italy, and so we're trying to do all the
things tour through Italy, and I've had the fever and
the body aches and so was waking up in the
middle of the night and taking hot baths just to
drag soon myself. Man, it was rough. I powered through. Yeah,
but it was a miserable vacation.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
That's brutal.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
In fact, that's all I remember from it.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
What an uplifting conversation that says good morning everybody, and
that's Jill.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
That's how works.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Yeah, but it literally could be anything, and sometimes it's
not so breezy, but it led to a great conversation.
So yeah, send us your questions. Continue to use our
talk back on our iHeartRadio Apple call us eight seven
seven nine eight one, nine eight one. We do it
every weekday morning here at seven twenty five.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
And hey, we're just moments away from your next chance
to win those Barry Manilow tickets as he hits the
stage at the Oakland Arena next Friday, July eighteenth.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
I can't believe it's already next Friday. It's going to
be such a good show we want to send you,
so be here just a few minutes seven thirty five,
your chance to win on the Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze.
It's Carolyn and Court. Congratulations, you did it your callar
ten Oh thanks Ca. Well it courts here too. It's
a fifty to fifty effort.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
She gets the honor though, of actually letting you know
that you've won.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Yes, So, who is this? Where are you listening to us?
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (15:23):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (15:23):
I'm sorry, Henry. Are we interrupting a breakfast order?
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Was shopping? I love it though, you're listening to the Breeze.
You're winning Barry Manilow tickets and your shopping.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Actually, Henry, you should not even be apologizing to us.
We should be thanking you for your dedication to our
station that you take us into a store with you
and do your shopping while trying to win these tickets.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Thank you, well, congratulations Henry. In addition to whatever you
have in your shopping cart, we're going to add in
two tickets to see Barry Manilow at the Oakland Arena
next Friday, July eighteenth. It's all courtesy of Outback Presents.
Tickets on sale, by the way at Ticketmaster and will
do this again for everybody else tomorrow seven thirty five
(16:08):
Here on the morning Breeze. Lovely thank you. Eight eleven
with Whitney Houston here on ninety eight point one The Breeze.
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Court, I know it's been a while since this has
been an issue in your life, but the breakup conversation,
when it comes time to ending a relationship is always
a tough one. Right now, It's always awkward. You don't
know what to say. You want to let them down gently,
you don't want to hurt any feelings. A lot of
considerations go into this first.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Yeah, Well, there is kind of a hack these days
that people are using to soften the breakup, and that
hack is they are using AI and chat GPT to
come up with breakup speeches and excuses. Forty one percent
of adults say they have used AI to help them
(16:57):
end a relationship.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Oh wow, that's higher. And then I thought it would
be I know, do you know anybody that is well?
I actually do know. My youngest daughter, Sloan, she's seventeen.
One of her girlfriends recently broke up, broke up with
a boyfriend, and my wife actually assisted in using AI
to help craft the breakup.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Wait, so this is Sloan's friend. Yes, And so the
friend friend came to came to Sloan, and then Sloan
went to your to your wife, Randy.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Yeah, and Randy helped out maybe. Oh, they along with
AI crafted a nice little quote, heartfelt breakup text. Oh
and apparently he took it really well. Really Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
I actually, as you were talking, Court just went to
chat GPT yeah and plugged it in.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Oh, you've got a nice little breakup phrase there.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
This is actually awesome. All right, breakup for This is
the first one I just typed in breakup speech.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
I've been thinking a lot about us and where we
both are in life. You mean so much to me
and that's why this is super hard to say. But
I care about you deeply, but I feel like we're
growing in different directions. Wow, that is eight million percent
better than anything I could come up with on my own.
That is impressive.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
But you didn't write it. You didn't. You didn't come
up with those words, I know.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
But this is better than what I would have come
up with. So yeah. Forty one percent of adults say
they have used AI to break up with somebody. Kimberly
and while the Creek High, good morning.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
If everybody googles break.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Up conversation and then somebody receives it and they go,
oh my gosh, this is one of the four that
comes up on chat GPT and don't know that's true.
It makes you look even worse sort of if you
get busted, you know, oh yeah chat GPT, because then
it makes it seem like you really don't care you
(18:50):
break up, your.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Breakup, then it definitely wasn't meant to be.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
That is totally That is such a good way to
put it, though, Kimberly, you plagiarized your breakup. That is
such a funny take. It was a great topic. Honestly,
I was like, you know, I have to just I
have to just sell them. You know you did, and
you made us less very early in the morning, and
that is not easy to do. A commute can be
(19:16):
a little bit boring without.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
You, guys.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Glad to be there for you. Yeah, thank you, Kimberly,
have a good day.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
If I'm still thinking about this, like using chat GPT
to do all these things that we just do regularly
in life, hm hm, And how just how robotic we're
all going to sound if we all keep doing this.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
No, I mean to her point, we're all going to
be using the same phrases and excuses out of chat GPT,
and then they're going to have to invent something new.
No repeats, no vaccats. So we're at eight seven seven
nine eight one. That is how you reach us anytime.
You can always send us a message with our iHeart
Radio app using that talkback microphone on our app.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
And I'll the way later this hour is you begin
your workday, We're gonna give you ninety eight minutes of
NonStop commercial free, relaxing favorites. And I will promise you this. Yes,
AI not involved at all.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
No, these songs are I could tell you firsthand, hand
picked and picked. We spend a lot of time choosing
the songs that we play for you here on the Breeze,
ninety eight minutes of that special music commercial free coming
up at eight to fifty. Right here, we're talking.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
This morning on the Morning Breeze about people using CHET,
GPT and AI to help them break up.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
Yes, and it's Chuck in Pleasant Hill, Hi, good morning.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
I don't have anything new about AI and breakups, but
I do have a classic breakup through about forty years
ago when I was younger, Okay, I would day Michael
from Benville that would belong to the running Club, and
we made it for a while and finally she said something.
She says, we're gonna have to break up. Your BMI
is too high.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Oh oh whoa she BMI shamed you all hard. Well,
you know what, I don't believe in vm I first
of all, and second of all, somebody's BMI shaming you. Goodbye.
You made the right decision, Chuck.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Oh yeah, exactly, And everything's been wonderful since.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Then, and you're in a much better place now, and
who cares about b M.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
I absolutely I'm a much better place to listen to
you guys. That's that's the truth.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Oh, we appreciate that, Chuck.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
You have a nice day.
