The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on demand.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's music from the calling here on ninety eight point one.
The Breeze six point twenty is the time. You've got
The Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and right now,
let's do it. Challenge your brain. I was trying to
spring it on people.
Speaker 3 (00:17):

they know we do it at this time. But you're
really fired up about this.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
It's exciting times.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
The Morning Breeze brain Tease is sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing.
You're in clean hands with Mike Counsel Plumbing. Visit them
at mc plumbing dot com. Okay, sixteen percent of Americans
say they're above average when it comes to this.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
We are at eight seven seven nine eight one oh
nine eight one. I can't wait to hear these guesses
because are they going to be reflective of the people
guessing right that that they're better than they think that
they're better? Yes, all right, we're gonna start with you,
Ray and Sam Bruno, Good morning.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
What is your guest for us?
Speaker 4 (00:58):
I'm gonna say TXT message now.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
In what way? Like they're good textures?
Speaker 4 (01:04):
Yeah, because you know what you know these kids, I kids,
you not. I mean, I don't know how they do it,
but I see, you know, my step kids they text
all the time and they are pretty fast.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Oh yeah, so that I guess. I guess I struck
out with this with this answer. But you know, I
love that you've already talked yourself out of being right.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Probably probably because neither of us said, hey, you're right.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
No, but I'm thinking about that. You're so right because
my nephews when they text, it's super fast. My daughters
with the light.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Think about it though, if you go back to the
days before the smartphones, and we used to have to
use the keypad on your on your cell phone or text.
I was so good at that I could do it
with one hand and not even look at my phone.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Yes, you remember those days.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, that was a BlackBerry days when you on a BlackBerry.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Ever, I never had a BlackBerry. I just had the
old cell phone. Yes, hey, you got a new fan.
I'm a new listener and I'm a fan of you guys.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
You too, Ray, All right, thanks for calling now, Anita
in San Francisco.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
You want to take a gus, What do you think
is it intelligence? I mean, that's a great gas. It's
a really great gues. We all know that person that
thinks that they're better than everyone.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Else, right, But I don't go around bragging about it.
I mean, oh, these people don't go around bragging about it. Interesting, Court,
I'd be curious to know what that stat actually is,
because it's not the it's not the answer today. But
I think you're onto something here, Anita, here's the correct answer.
Let's see if you fit this bill. Sixteen percent of
Americans say they're above average when it comes to dancing.
(02:46):
They're dancing ability.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
They think they're better than they really are. I'm a
great dancer. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Oh I was gonna way Is that true, Anita? How
do you feel about your dancing skills scale a one
to ten?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
All right, I don't know if I'm above average.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
I feel like to dance.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
And why is it that at a wedding everybody starts
out a wallflower. By the end of the night, you
are like, I am dancing with the stars right now, Carolyn,
The answer is why the open bar?
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah? All right, Anita, have a good day. Thanks for calling,
right all right? Right bye?
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Is there something court that you think you are better
than the average.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Person, something that I feel like I'm better than the
average person, A skill? I feel like.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
It, and I know that I'm not, and I know
that we're not because I'm gonna when you hear this.
I feel like my wife and I sometimes feel like
we're like the best parents ever.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Oh, you guys are, and I feel like we've got
amazing kids. Yeah. I don't know how much of that
came from me. Most probably came from my wife.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yes, Like I know, there's there's times the where we're like,
we're pretty great parents, and then you know, typically that
comes as we're critiquing other parents.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Yeah, as you're tearing someone else down, you're building yourself up.
That's exactly I think you and Randy are tremendous parents.
So give yourself a little credit.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
I do thank thank you. Are you the best? Debatable?
You're party above that average? I'm just kidding. I am, No,
I think you guys are great.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Well, we do the Morning Breeze brain Teas every weekday
morning here at six twenty.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Certainly invite you to join us.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
We also invite you to join us this morning at
eight oh five is that we're going to have more
chances for you to win those Disneyland Resort tickets.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Yeah, we're doing it again. Aight oh five this morning,
four oh five this afternoon, your chance to win a
family four pack of tickets to the Disneyland Resort as
they celebrate seventy years. So again, make sure you're here
eight oh five. Next chance to win on the morning Breeze. Loreez,
it's the Commodore's here on ninety eight point one the Breeze.
Carolyn and Court, Welcome to your Wednesday Easy like a
(04:56):
Wednesday Morning.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
I kind of is. That's a great song too. I
always say that every time we play it. So we
had a big change in my family this week. Anybody
that has been listening to the show for any period
of time knows that my mom has dementia. She is
in assisted living, and you know, we kind of knew
this was coming. As her condition continues to progress, the
(05:20):
next step from assisted living is to move to memory care. Right,
so we had to make the difficult decision to move
her to memory care, which is for her, which is
a better thing for her, right Yeah, But you can
imagine with somebody with dementia and you make a move
like this, you move them out of one place to
a brand new place. She's still at the Carleton, she's
(05:41):
still at her same place, but she's moved to a
different unit, different part of the facility. Yeah, that she's
not familiar with. And so it's been a big adjustment
and a big change. So when we made this move,
they told me, hey, the first day, maybe stay away,
don't come visit, let her acclimate. And that's fine. I
support that. So I stayed away the first day, which
(06:02):
was yesterday. Well, last night phone rings. It's my mom,
like here we go, you know. And she called and
I answered, I go hey, mama, and she goes Carolyn
and I said yeah. She goes, I'm not dead. And
I said, mom, no, you're not dead. She goes, oh good, Okay.
(06:22):
That was the first thing. And then she said you
didn't come today to visit and I said, well, you know,
I got busy with.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Work and I'm kind of doing the white life.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
She goes, oh, okay, I for some reason thought you
didn't come because you got married.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
I was not getting married yesterday.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
So these are the little moments that we have to
help you understand how dementia works a little bit. You
get random thoughts that get into their brains. Then I
get phone calls, and I'm kind of navigating all this.
So she's doing okay, much better spirits last night when
she found out a she was alive and b on
not married.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
So it worked out great. So we'll see what today
brings as.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Far as phone calls go, because I know this, this
has been a rough couple of days for you. Yeah,
I've been witnessing it behind the scenes. And as far
as that phone call goes, that was as good as
it could have been.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
That was a great phone call compared to the other
phone calls I've been getting. Yeah, it's rough. So anybody
listening that has somebody in your life that has dementia,
you're a caregiver for somebody, or whatever the case may be,
please know that there are other people out there that
are going through exactly what you're going through.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
I am one of those people. I understand it.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
I'm always here if you want to call in talk Yeah,
eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one. Because
one of the most important things I've learned is that
as a caregiver, you never want to feel alone. So
just know you're not alone. If you're listening and you're
going through this, and you, Carolyn, definitely are not.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
If I was able to nominate you, Carolyn, our Morning
Breeze Person of the Week because of what you're doing
right now for your mom taking care care of her,
I would do it.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
That's so cute. You, of course are not eligible.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
But I bring this up because we continue to look
for people in the Bay Area who are doing exactly
what you're doing, yeah, which is looking after the people
in their life, not looking for credit.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
But we want to give that credit to them.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
They just do it because it's the right thing to do,
and it feels right to them, and they never get,
like you've said, the accolades for it, and so we
want to do that on your behalf for those people.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
For sure, we give the accolades. We also award them
brunch for two on the Bay courtesy of City Cruises.
So think of those people in your life and then
make that nomination on our website ninety eight one The
Breeze dot com.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
It's Richard Marx.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
It's seven oh eight, good morning, it is the Morning
Breeze with Carolyn and Court and it's time for the
brighter side. We do the Brighter Side every weekday morning
at this time, and we love so much when you
call us. We love this as much as you love
listening to it, and you tell us your stories of
things that make you happy or that you're looking forward to,
just good stuff in your life. Overall, it's a great
(08:54):
way to start the day. If you're in the car
commuting to work, you're taking the kids to school, you're
wiping from home, you've got like this moment of super
positivity in the morning, every weekday morning at the same time,
and that's why we do it. It's sponsored by Shreeven Company,
Luxury time Pieces, find Designers, and Flawless Diamonds.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
This morning, we're talking to Nancy in San Jose. Are
and Nancy, so we understand you're on a motorcycle right now.
Speaker 5 (09:17):
They just cut on my bike about five minutes ago,
and we're on our way to a brand adventure to
the East coast up in the Nova Scosa, Canada and
back into the US and possibly to Alaska. And I
just put the breeze on my motorcycle and wanted to
say good morning and half a good month.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
That is so crazy to me that you are on
a motorcycle, listening to the breeze on the app.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Cruising across the USA and able to talk to us,
and we understand you so clearly.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Yeah, where exactly are you right now? Are you still
here in town or are you already on the road?
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (09:54):
Now, I'm still in Miltda, San Jose area now okay, okay,
in Arizona tonight and Atlanta in about four days.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
So you're going across the country up to Canada, across Canada,
maybe to Alaska, and then you're gonna come back to
down here, to California to the Bay Area?
Speaker 1 (10:13):
That is that?
Speaker 4 (10:13):
Did I?
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Did I say it correctly? Is that?
Speaker 4 (10:15):
What?
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Roughly what you're doing?
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (10:18):
How how do I put this? How does your butt
handle this? Nancy? I think we're all wondering.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
Yeah, your butt doesn't know as much as your wrisk.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Oh, yeah, risk, because you're on a Are you on
a Harley? Yes? Wow?
Speaker 3 (10:36):
This is so cool and so impressive. How many people
are with you on this trip?
Speaker 5 (10:44):
One on his bike and I'm on my trike?
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Okay, my strike. That's so cute.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
What a cool adventure for you guys.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
It's great. You guys, hang in there. And I haven't
read month.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Here's what I love about Nancy's called How great is
it that she has found a companion that loves exactly
what she is?
Speaker 4 (11:04):
Right?
Speaker 1 (11:05):
That is so fun.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
I've always dreamt of doing something like this, though I
don't think my wife would want to do it with me.
Kind of to your point, Yeah, like that, maybe maybe
in a very very plush RV we could do something
like this.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
I do not picture Randy on a Harley going across
the United States to Canada and maybe he'll last.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Maybe like a one day trip. Maybe you're not even
that you're thinking custom RV. Okay, custom RV.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
We'll do it.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
But that's good for Nancy. And if you have a
brighter side for us eight seven seven nine, eight one
oh nine eight one and on.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
The way this morning at eight oh five, once again,
another chance for you to win those tickets to the
Disneyland Resort.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Yeah, and this isn't like two tickets.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
This is for two day, one park per day Disneyland
resort tickets. They are celebrating seventy years.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
You may have experienced the Disneyland Resort before, but experiencing
it during the seventieth celebration.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
It's kicked up a notch for sure.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Be here at eight oh five for your next chance
to win those tickets on the Breeze.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and Shade
at seven twenty eight ninety eight point one the Breeze.
And you know, Carolyn, politicians have press conferences, celebrities might
do Q and a's sure we have asked us anything.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
Love it.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
It's your chance to call the show ask anything that
might be on your mind. Eight seven seven nine eight
one nine eight one. That's how you reach.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Us, that is, and this morning we are going to
Betty and Hollister, good morning.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Ask us anything I've.
Speaker 6 (12:33):
Always wondered, how do you guys come up with what
songs can play on the Breeze like day do you
guys have them this? Do you guys just each pick
some songs?
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Or how do you come up with those songs?
Speaker 6 (12:44):
Like, for example, after the commercial, the song that's gonna
come up? How do you come up with that song?
How do you decide bunks to play?
Speaker 3 (12:52):
So, Mott, I have another job here at the radio station.
My job, my job not only to co host the
morning show with Court, is I'm also the music director.
So I'm the one that picks the music. But it's
not like it comes directly from me. There is a
whole system, a program that I work with to pick
these songs.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Oh wow, that is all true, Betty.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
But I will tell you this because there is a
lot of science. There is a lot of research that
goes into it. But every single song is handpicked yep,
and placed by Carolyn.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Mccarl Oh wow, twenty four hours a day.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (13:32):
I wonder if picks out like I don't know today
my day I picked him out. Or I always wonder
how beautiful, great great songs beautiful? And then I've always
wondered do they each pick like a certain amount of songs?
Speaker 1 (13:47):
But wow, they don't let me anywhere near the music. Baby,
we want them on the air and just not near
the music.
Speaker 6 (13:57):
Well, you guys are doing great. I enough to listen
to you guys, even if I'm stuck in traffic. I
don't mind that all, to be honest, haven't you guys
on the breeze it's the best. And then when I
get up work, I listened to Tony Tony's.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
The best too.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Well.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
We that is such a sweet question that you had
it means that you care as much about the music
as we do. We care a lot, We put a
lot of heart and sold into it. Like Court said,
that is the most important thing about our station obviously,
is the music that we play on the air for you.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
So I'm glad that you like it as much as
we do.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
Thank you, I really really do.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
I appreciate everything you guys do for all of us.
And you guys have a great day.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Thank you. I appreciate you, Betty, guys. Okay, love to
you guys right bye. Our listeners are so thoughtful.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
The fact that Betty even thought to ask that question,
like it means so much that you all care as
much about our station as we do for because we
all care a lot about it.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
So that was a great ask us.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
Yeah, that's how ask us anything works. If there's anything
on your mind, anything at all, you can call us
eight seven seven nine eight on nine eight one.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
And if you're ask us is when can I win
those Disneyland resort tickets? Oh, we have an answer for
you as well with that. That's coming up at eight
oh five this morning.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
Yeah, we're doing it twice a day, eight oh five
in the morning, four o five in the afternoon your
chance to win these four tickets to the Disneyland Resort.
So be here eight oh five on the Morning Breeze.
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and do
we have some good news for you, your color twenty. You've
just won tickets to the Disneyland Resort.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Oh, you're kiddy.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
We would never ever kid you about that.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
Oh, I am so happy. You don't realize my daughter
is trying for so long. Yeah, I just, I just
I just cried out of the blue and I got through.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Your daughter's been trying to win. And then you were like,
mama needs to step in.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
I want to help out.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
Yeah, yes I did. Oh you made my daughter, my
son in law, and my grandson so happy.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Happy to do it. That makes us happy. So what's
your name?
Speaker 4 (16:06):
My name is Valery. I'm listening to you from elf Row.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Oh you're listening on our iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
Yes, yes, I am all right.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
We got four two day, one park per day Disneyland
Resort tickets for you and the family. At the Disneyland Resort,
the happiest place on earth, you're going to find all
kinds of happy and there's no better time to visit
because of the Disneyland Resorts seventieth celebration that is happening now.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
That is going to be awesome.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
I know, we love this. It's spanning, this trip is
spanning the generation. Sure is very cool.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
Congratulations again, Oh, thank you, thank you, and.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
We are so happy about that. And if you were
trying to get through and you didn't win, not to worry.
We're doing this all week four oh five in the afternoon,
eight oh five again tomorrow morning, every day this week
here on the Breeze.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
So, Carolyn, it's no secret that listening to music is
good for you, Yes, but what about out singing along
to that music.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
It's gotta be good for you. It's even better for you,
is it really? Yeah, because apparently it releases chemicals in
your brain that are good for your body and for
your brain. In fact, a new study founds that's singing,
whether it's singing, it's singing along to the breeze while
you're driving into work or maybe hitting the karaoke bar
(17:22):
will help decrease cortisol. And if you know what cortisol is,
that's what gives you that little belly.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Oh the stress, yes, the stress hormones stress hormone. Yeah,
so singing decreases corsol. It also, as I mentioned, releases
these chemicals. It's also good for speech and communication. They
say it actually makes your brain stronger.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
I believe it.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
You have to remember the lyrics, you have to remember
the notes. You know what octave?
Speaker 1 (17:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
If you have to remember, you certainly can try, especially
when it comes to karaokes.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
If feel like karaoke, you really want to know the
song and you want to know those lyrics. Sure they
have a prompter there for you, but you want to
own that song.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
You don't have to be Selene Beyond in order to
benefit from singing it.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
And I'm saying when you roll into the Captain's chest
and conquered, let me tell you something.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
That is that you're karaoke spee.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
I own that microphone with some England Dan and john
Ford co.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Yes, that's that's your go to karaoke song.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
I'd really love to see you tonight. That is my jam.
What's your what's your go to karaoke?
Speaker 4 (18:19):
Sean?
Speaker 2 (18:19):
You know, honestly I don't actively do karaoke. My my family,
my wife's family are huge in karaoke and I just
I just don't do it, even though I'm in a
very safe space and they would love me for it,
I just don't.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
But if I were a little more courageous, Yeah, it
would probably be a Billy Joel song. Oh She's Always
a Woman. Oh I love that. Oh we have to
get you to sing that somehow, and then can I
record it and play it back on the air here.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
If you put it that way, the answer would be
no Ah. We did ask this question on our Facebook
earlier today. What is your go to karaoke?
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Say you love our listener's taste. We got Dave who
would sing Baker Street Ryan Here, im by Air Supply,
We've got the YMCA, that's John. We've got Righteous Brothers,
Unchain Melody, Joanne, Don't Dream It's over Crowdhouse.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Our Breez listeners are like, yeah, Breeze songs are great
karaoke songs. We agree.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
And again, you don't have to be singing karaoke in
order to get the benefits of singing along. You could
just again be singing along to the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
I'm a big fan of this study you just told
us about whether your whether your coworkers want you to
be singing along or not, they do, just do it,
they do, they do.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Join that conversation on our Facebook page ninety eight one
of the Breeze, or call us tell us your favorite
karaoke song eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.
You can always send us a talk back with our
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
App and be sure to join us at eight fifty,
where we give you ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free,
relaxing favorites to sing along to.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
I mean, non stop back to back hit so much singing. Yeah,
We're going to be commercial free at eight fifty here
on the Breeze
