(00:28):
are this morning? How sharp are you before you walk
out the door and you go to wherever you're going
this morning? We got you with the brain with the
Morning Breeze Brain Teas.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah, men are more likely to like this about themselves
than women are.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Okay eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Sue and Santa Rosa, good morning. What is your gas beer?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Well, yeah, I see what you're saying, But I'm also thinking, like,
do you guys not like your own beards and we
like your beards? Or is it well, I think beer,
I think it's I think Sue's getting to when a
woman has a beard, she does not like that about.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
And so that answer was so right out.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Of the game.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
You know what, I cannot say that you're wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
It is not the question. It is not the answer
we're looking for. But you are not wrong. I can
confirm not a fan of a beard on myself.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
I don't even know if I should give you the
answer because I think that you can't beat that. Yeah,
I think it's safe to say that's not the answer though.
All right, have a.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Good one, Adele and Milbray, what do you think the
answer is?
Speaker 1 (01:30):
They're abs? It's so true. Do you ever do that thing?
All right? Adele, be honest.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Do you ever do that thing where you look in
the mirror and you're like, I definitely don't have abs.
But then you turn the light off in your bathroom
and you have just the night light. You're like, do
I have a six pack? Does anybody do that?
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Well? I have a one year old son, so I
try to avoid the mirror now, But I know my boyfriend,
she's always like staring at the mirror, like he's like
one of you know, a model.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
No six packs over here?
Speaker 2 (02:04):
By the way, hopefully he's not, Oh yeah, no, you
didn't have to grease over No, I was just thinking
me too, because I had to turn the night light
on to look at to look like I have a
figure out. Oh that's funny though, Is that the answer
not the correct answer? Today, men are more likely to
like their name than women.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Are their name. Yeah, do you like your name? Court? Uh?
You know, I struggled with it when I was a kid,
because my name's my name is Courtney. Yeah, and I
struggled with you. I love it now. It's me that
is a kid. I struggled.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
I can't imagine if your name wasn't court. You're such
a court, right, Adele? Is he not such a court Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:38):
I can't imagine people calling him Cory.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
It happens a lot, a lot. It's an autocorrect too.
I'm fine with it. Call me whatever. Just don't call
me late for dinner.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Oh there is Hey, I'm here all week by the way. Yeah,
very well done, and thanks Adele for calling in with
your your guess. It's the Morning Breeze Brain Teas and
we do it every weekday morning six twenty here on
the Morning Breeze, Yes, and coming up this morning at
eight point fifty as we do every weekday morning to
start off your day in the office, or you're working
(03:09):
at home, or you're driving the kids around because they're
out and they want to go a million places because
summer is pretty much here. Yeah, we're going to be
Commercial free makes a great companion no matter what you're doing.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
It sure does, and today is going to feel very summary. Yeah,
whether why not have ninety eight minutes commercial free to
go along with it?
Speaker 2 (03:26):
That's right, As Court said, ninety eight minutes we're commercial free.
That starts at eight to fifty on the Breeze, and
Louise tells to John at six forty three here on
ninety eight point one the Breeze, The Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court. I mentioned that I sort of traveled
back in time the other day Court.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
It was great.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
So over the weekend I am c the National Brain
Tumor Society Walk.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
It was at the San Francisco Zoo. Right.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
The zoo is located really close to San Francisco State,
which is where I went to school Alma Mater, Go Gators. Yeah,
So when I drove, I had to be there very
very early in the morning for the walk.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
So when I.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Drove it, because the zoo is so close to SF State,
it took me to like the same exit off of
two eighty and through the same streets, and I went
past where I used to live, and it was just
the neatest experience because I haven't been to that area
since I graduated, which is many years ago.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
RELI, you've never just found yourself there and thought, oh,
I would check this out. No, And it was so fantastic.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
You know that when you go back anywhere, it could
be where you used to live or someplace that you
have ben in so long, and you see the street
names and everything starts coming back and all the memories.
And I wish before I left it come home on
Saturday after the event, I wish I could have stayed
and gone to the campus and walked around. But just
even seeing the street names and the buildings and going
(04:52):
by Westlake Shopping Center where yeah, that used to be
a Burlington Co Factory in the nineties and now it's
a Target, and that used to be you know, RB's
and now it's Chipotle. Just to see all the old
places was so fun.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
I still can't get over the fact that after all
these years, I know you work in the city, I
know you've probably been close to that area at times
for sure that you just you haven't. Well, we were just.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Out at Ceremony shopping center over the holidays. I could
have could have taken a little jump, taken you with me.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah. Now it's always great to It's like the memories
come back. And then you also are like why did
they change that? Exactly? Why that look different? But it
is kind of fun to say.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Like I was driving down I think John Daily Boulevard,
and I'm thinking, once I turned, once I look to
the left, that should be a gas station, Like you
start testing yourself, right, And it still wasn't Arco gas
station where I could barely in college afford to put
a quarter of a tank of gas in my car.
And I was like, you've done all right, Carolyn. You
know you like talking, but have you ever done that
with a place that's.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yeah, every time my hometown, I'll go to my hometown
and see how much it's changed, because it's changed quite
a bit. Yeah in the twenty plus almost thirty years
since I've lived there. Yeah, And I'll bet and some
of it you love to see because you like to
see progress. An other time just like, oh what are
we doing here? Yeah, it's sad sometimes this used to
just be a cow pasture and now it's like a
(06:15):
like a shopping complex. Yep, that's how it goes.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
But I highly recommend it if there's a place for
you that you haven't visited in quite some time. Takes
time to do it. It's really it's really a great experience.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
I grew up in the country, by the way, That's
why I'm referring a cowpasture. I don't want that to
seem strange to people. It was not uncommon for there
to be a house and then a cow pasture next
to it.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Roger in the town where I grew up. Thank you
for the clarification. We're at eight seven seven one, nine
eight one. Send us a message any time with our
iHeartRadio app and that talk back mind love them, Reo Speedwagon,
keep on loving you.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Seven oh eight.
Speaker 2 (06:49):

nine eight one. In the Brighter Side sponsored by Shreeve
and Company Luxury time Pieces find Designers Flowless Diamonds.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
All right, Camille in South City, good morning, tell us
your brighter side.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
I had a niece come recently.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
She was just born, like last week, so I went
up and visit them. My family and I haven't really
seen them in a while, so I was happy to,
you know, go see her.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
So is this your first niece.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah, it's my first niece. What's that feeling like when
you walk in, you're probably thinking like, oh my gosh,
you're related to me. I know, It's just it's it's amazing,
it's a it's a good feeling because you know, I
did get to have girls at all boys, so excited, like.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Yay, I'm just gonna throw this out there. But I
kind of get the feeling that your niece is going
to be very spoiled. I know you're gonna be the
best aunt ever. Camille.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Yes, I am, Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Well, congratulations again, Camille. This is big news, huge.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
We hope you have a good day. Thanks for calling in. Okay,
thank you, you're welcome.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
I am an aunt.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
I don't have my own kids, but I'm an aunt
to my niece and my three nephews, and I love
being an aunt.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
It's sort of grandparent adjacent, I think in a weird way,
because it's like you go have your fun, you enjoy
your time. Then you're like, okay, back to your parents. Ago, yep,
I'm out, I gotta go home.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
I became an uncle when I was ten years old
because my oldest brother is that much older than me.
Oh yeah, you have so many kids. Yeah. So my
oldest niece is now thirty seven, so she feels more
like a wow here yeah, more like a cousin relationships
trip court. But because there's so many kids in my family,
we have like there's a I don't know, I lost
count at thirty thirty. Seriously, grand nephews and nieces. Yeah yeah, whoa.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Yeah, Christmas must be nuts at your house. I'm stretched thin,
that's so many games.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
The uncle, do you have to buy gifts for all
of h We stopped through that after like four or five.
You're like, I can't handle this. Yeah, yeah, I get it.
I get it.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
We're at eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. Hey, coming up this morning at seven twenty five,
as we do every weekday morning, it is ask us Anything,
and there is still time for you to get a
question in for today.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Yeah. I referred to this a little bit as open
mic Night, where we basically turned the show over to you,
where you control what we talk about with your question. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
I mean, think of anything you would like to ask
us about something that you're curious about, like just in
the world you want our opinion on. It could be
about the show. We've had people ask about the show.
I mean, sky's the limit. That's why it's called ask
Us Anything.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Yeah, And you can submit your questions a couple of
different ways. You can call us eight seven seven nine
eight one oh nine eight one. You can also use
the talkbacked feature on our free iHeartRadio app. It's music
from Chicago Here at seven twenty eight ninety eight point
one in the Breeze, you've got the More with Carolyn
and Court and it is time for you to ask
us anything. If you've got anything on your mind, anything
(10:06):
at all, If you're curious about something you've heard on
the show, just curry about something in life. Mm hmm.
Carolyn and I will do our best to try to
answer your questions as we answer your ask us Anything questions.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Yep, we've had people a call and just give us
icebreaker questions that you would hear in a meeting, a
get to know you on.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
A first date. Maybe I've done that eight seven seven
nine eight one. That's how you can submit your questions.
You can also use our talkback feature on our free
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
That's actually where today's ask us Anything comes from a talkback.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Hey, my name's Jill. I want to submit a question
for ask us Anything.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
So, Court and Carolyn, what's a useless skill that you're
weirdly proud of?
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (10:51):
The skill where you are weirdly proud of? I heard
you a couple of minutes ago playing the mouth trumpet, Like, yeah,
I guess some song was playing and you were like,
I do a really good mouth trumpet, but and well
my skill level is pretty great on that.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Yeah, that is not the one I want to share.
What is? What is? It's mouth related? Though? Oh I
am if I dare say so myself, Okay, just a
world class whistler.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Really, I think I'm really good at whistling. Really, I've
never heard you whistle. I don't think I'm a really
great whistler. Okay, I can whistle a bunch of different ways,
and I feel good at it, like I love my
whistle skills. Has anyone ever complimented you on your whistling ability.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
A time or two? Sure? My daughters are certainly impressed.
Are they really? Or annoyed? Are they impressed? Okay? So
that's my my useless skill? What about you? Hmmm? I
think for me.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Mine would be that I know I can I can
sing all the words and lyrics to the song La Bamba, okay,
but I don't really know what they mean.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
But you know, the actual lyrics as opposed to what
you think the lyrics are.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
I know them, okay, but I don't know what they mean.
I mean, I know a couple of the words. But yeah,
so I'm gonna say that's a song. I'm pretty sillious
if I'm not mistaken. I think Lebamba is about dancing.
I think it's a song about dancing.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I don't know. I think those words are about dat.
But I could sing the song to you. That's it?
That is a great is that? Does that count? Great skill. Okay, useless.
Maybe that's the point.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
All right, So it's ask us Anything every weekday morning
at this time and again, continue to send us your
questions through our iHeartRadio app that talkback mic or call
us eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Coming up this morning at eight fifty, as you begin
your workday, we're going to give you ninety eight minutes
of NonStop, commercial free, relaxing favorites. It's a great way
to start your day.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
It is oh my gosh, be here, you sit back, relax,
get that day underway, and we will be commercial free
for ninety eight minutes. Like Court said, eight fifty here
on the Breeze this morning on ask us Anything Here
on the Breeze. At seven twenty five, Jill wanted to
know about a useless skill that we have.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Yeah. For me, it's whistling. I'm a good whistler.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
And for me it is singing the song La bamba,
but I don't know what most of the lyrics mean.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Hi, good morning the breeze.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Okay, you guys spilled the beans.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Now, I think you need to sing leabamba and Kurt's
got a whistle to it, and that's a skill I
don't have is singing. I am a terrible singer.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Okay. I think we're doing everybody a favor by not
whistling and not seeing it. Oh, trust me, we are.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
And by the way, if you have a question for
our next ask us anything. Tomorrow morning is seven twenty
five eight seven seven one nine eight one.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. This morning
we're talking about useless skills and my useless skill whistling. Carolyn,
Good morning, Paula and conquered.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Whistling is a lost art. Be proud of it. Whistle
as much as you can, and encourage your girls to whistle.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
They both kind of picked it up a little bit.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah, you have to work on it. My granddaughter whistles
because of Grandpa.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
Don't stop whistling.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
All right, Paula, Thank you, take care of Isn't that
the lyrics from a Journey song? Don't stop believing? Really
it's journey, oh Paula. Jeez, all right, Paula, have a
good day. Okay. Extreme with their most mellow hits, oh yeah,
and their biggest hit that's more than words. Morning Breeze,
(14:28):
Carolyn and Cork, Good morning. It is eight oh nine.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Carolyn, I'm curious to know if you would partake of
this new trend in tourism. What is that it's growing
in popularity. It is called house sitting tourism house sitting tourists.
Where there's kind of two sides to this, where it's say,
for example, you would like to go to on vacation
in Paris. Let's think of somewhere cool that you'd like
(14:52):
to go on vacation. Okay, let's say Paris. So you
find through a couple of different websites you find people
who are also going on vacations, but they have pets
or they have plants that need to be taken care of,
and they're like, look, you can use my house while
I'm gone. You just have to take care of my
animals and my plants for free. Does this makes sense?
(15:15):
So I'm sitting for them in the destination you want
to go vacation in.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
I don't think I'm the only one who's going to
bring this up, but I would do that for someone else.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
The pets I don't know.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
I don't know their animal, but I certainly would never
let a stranger come in it. And how well and
watch perk for me. Plus I don't have any plants
because they kill them all, so that's a non factor.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
But I think for a lot of people when they
go on vacation, that's that's the biggest struggle for my family.
Absolutely where are Charlie and Leo are going to be?
And typically what we do is we have one of
my daughter's friends come and house it for the week.
They stay over, they sleep there, we feed them, we
pay them. In this scenario, we don't have to feed
them and pay them, but we have somebody staying with
(16:03):
Charlie and Leo.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
It's the strange, the stranger factor for me, I would
not would you.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
Do this, I'd you do it, I would consider it.
I'd have to go because again, there's websites that do
all the vetting for you because they again the benefits.
Homeowners get to vacation worry free that their pets in
plants are being taken care of and the house is secure.
And then if you're the person house sitting slash going
on vacation using this house, you're kind of experiencing a
(16:29):
tourist destination like a local, you're actually living in a home. Yeah,
it's like an Airbnb in a way. Yeah, you're not
in a hotel. Yeah, I mean you don't get all
the benefits of a hotel where somebody cleans up after Ah.
That's the other thing. But I think for people who
do the airbnbs, this might be more appealing to them
because again, there's no cost involved. If there was no
(16:49):
pet involved, yes I would. You're just really worried about
those picks. The pet thing for me to take capacity,
but anything else.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
If you want me to water your plants and I'm
going to stay there for free, absolutely I'll do that.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
Most for you. I thinks our babies is there, and then.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
I can't go relax and enjoy my vacation because I'm
worried about someone else's dog or cat.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
The straight right, Sure, now you could probably leave for
a while.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
It's a whole thing.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
So I take it from you, Carolyn, you would not
participate in the house sitting tours if there are pets,
I'm out you. I think I would consider it, depending
on what kind of pet they were. Okay, let's pet, turtle, easy, dug.
I'm there, But how many of them? It's like one percent.
I'm just doing But let's see what people think. Okay,
would you do this?
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Would you not?
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Eight seven seven nine eight one, nine eight one. Send
us a message with our iHeartRadio app that talk back
mic on the app, and stick around because coming up
later this hour eight fifty, we're gonna give you ninety
eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free, relaxing favorites. What a
great way to start off your day. Yeah, we're commercial
for you at eight fifty. Here
