say you're week, yes, and your week. Let's go your week.

A recent poll found that this is the favorite game
to play at a barbecue. There are so many games.
I've been thinking about this trying to come up with
an answer.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Yeah, I don't want to take what anybody else is
going to guess though, you don't want to ruin it.
I'm a right to the phones, okay eight seven seven
nine eight one nine eight one. We're gonna start with you.
David and Hollister has been holding what is your gas? Horseshoes?
Do people still play horseshoes?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
That's a great question.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
I remember back in the day people played horseshoes, but
do they I never see that ever.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
It's kinds like one of those games that people would
play a lot or at barbecue.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
I like that, guess, because that is a classic barbecue.
Only nobody plays horseshoes in the winter. You're not playing
horseshoes when it's raining. You only play it in the
summer at barbecues.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
I like it too, because there's variations of horseshoes too,
like cornhole is kind of a variation.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
I guess. So it's a modern day horseshoe horses, right, Yeah,
it sure is about it if you think about it.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
As great as the game is, it's not the correct
answer today. I have a good day and a good week. David. Hey,
thanks you too.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Okay, Eloisa in Freema, Good morning, Happy Monday. It's your
turn for the brain teas. What do you think the
answer is? Basketball? You know what's funny. I was at
a barbecue this past weekend and I wound up playing
a little basketball by myself. Nobody else came over.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
It was a little pickup game going on.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
I'm shooting some hoops again by myself. Nobody came over.
But that is a great guess. I just did that.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
And with basketball, there's different variants of it. You can
actually play a little one on one. You can have
some teams. You could play a game of speed, you
can play a game of horse, you could play by yourself.
You can play by yourself, which was the case for
Carol Happy Memorial Day. Is basketball the right answer? Basketball
is not the right answer? Oh?
Speaker 2 (02:19):
What is the right answer for this?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
One recent poll found that card games are the favorite
game to play at barbecues.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
People play card games at barbiecar Do you want, Louisa? Yes,
sometimes basketball and cards.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
I'm curious to know if Uno counts does count as
a card game? It does, right, I think technically right? Yeah,
is like.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
But I just never thought to play cards at a barbecue.
This is so new.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Now you will. My youngest likes to play that. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Well, we hope you'll have a nice day.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Thanks for calling in.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Thank you, by mind bye.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
It's the morning Breeze Brain Teas and you can get

you up with a four pack of tickets.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yes, these are two day, one park per day tickets.
Be here at eight oh five. Think of the memories
you're gonna make with your family. It's gonna be great.
Eight oh five your first chance to win Disneyland Resort tickets.
Here on the breeze, Louise, it is six thirty nine.
Good morning, It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
(03:37):
We were mentioning this a couple of minutes ago. Court,
if you if you guessed, see if you can guess
the age, the ideal age they are saying to get married, the.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Ideal age to get married. I'm gonna I'm gonna say,
I don't think it's twenties. Thirty one?
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Okay. How old were you when you got married?
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Twenty seven?
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Twenty seven? Okay. So research suggests that people marrying in
their early to mid twenties might be more likely to
experience a happy and long lasting marriage. However, okay, okay,
so we know early to mid twenties, good time to
get married. The ideal age to get married in the
US is now around thirty two years old, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
You were pretty close. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
The first time I got married, I was twenty five.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
You're twenty five, all right? And did you feel like.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
By the way, a little too young now looking back
on it, Yes, sure, yeah. And by the way, I
had to pull out the calculator to do these things
because it was so long ago.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
When I said twenty seven minutes ago, I'm like, was
I twenty seven?
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I know, I know, I literally had the second time. Yeah,
I was thirty two, which is the ideal age. They're saying.
My hand is up. I disagree, but I think they're
talking about first marriages. Yeah, maybe the ideal time. How old, court,
let's play a game, how old do you think I'll
be the third time? No, I'm just getting I'm getting
of the law of averages. Carry the nine according to
(05:09):
my calculations. Soon, Carolyn, Okay, soon. I'm so excited about
what's ahead, all right? Word eight seven seven nine eight
one nine eight one. Now, you know, the ideal age
to get married in the US around thirty two.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
That's just because you have a little more life experience
under the belt.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Probably it's more independence and you're just a little more
settled in your life and confident as an adult. Looking
back on this, I could thirty two sounds great to me. Sure,
just didn't work out for me, but good luck to
all of you. You can always send us a message
with our iHeartRadio app that talkback Mike.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
If you were to ask me today, Carolyn, what my
favorite ride at the Disneyland Resort is court?
Speaker 2 (05:47):
What is your favorite ride at the Disneyland Resort. That's
a great question, Carolyn. It is easily Pirates of the Caribbean.
Oh I did that last time yet?
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Classic? Yeah? And on a hot day, Yes, nothing better
than getting in that boat and getting splashed by some
chlorinated water.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
Yeah. Ah, so good, feels good and smells good.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Bring that up because all week long we've got your
chance to win tickets to the Disneyland Resort as they
celebrate seventy years. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
This is crazy to think it's been seventy years, but
they do it right. They know how to throw a party,
and we are so excited about the possibility of sending
you four tickets. By the way, so your first chance
of the week to win is it eight oh five.
We're doing at eight oh five and four oh five
every day this week on the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and Patrick
Swayzee at seven oh four. Seven oh four means it's
time now for the Brighter side. It's all about things
that are great happening in your life, things that are wonderful.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
So I was saying a minute ago that I had
this really neat moment happen Friday night, and I'm going
to put this in probably the top I'll put it
in the top five coolest things that have ever happened
to me in my life. My whole life huge. So
I went up to watch a Sacramento river Cats game
on Friday night. I used to work for the river
Cats as their announcer before I got called up to
(07:27):
announce for the Giants, and I had this moment where
I was in a suite with former Giants manager Dusty Baker.
Oh wow, it was just the two of us in
the suite for like fifteen minutes. We were talking about baseball.
It was magical that right there in itself amazing. But
then the CEO of the river Cats, his name is Chip,
he walked in and so we're talking, and then I
(07:49):
thought I need to see myself out of this conversation
and let these two very important people chat. Right But
before I left, I said to Chip, I said, you know,
I haven't had a chance to say thank you to
you for giving me my job as your announcer for
several seasons.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
I never would have gotten called up to work as
the announcer for the Giants had it not been for
this opportunity at the river Cats. Like, I am forever
grateful to you that you did this for me, and
the river Cats will always be family, and I'm just
so appreciative and he was like, Carolyn, you deserve it,
you earned it, which was amazing. But the funniest part
(08:26):
was Dusty Baker in the middle of all this, is
sitting back listening and he's looking. He puts his hand
on his heart and he goes, oh, this is good stuff.
Isn't that the cutest thing?
Speaker 1 (08:38):
It's really cute. But I was thinking the same thing.
It's like those moments of gratitude, yes, and we all
have them where you'll just be appreciative, but you don't
always have the opportunity to actually say it. Yes, And
so you had the chance and you did it. And
he was witnessing it.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
He was witnessing in front of Dusty Baker, and it
was just the timing on all of it. I actually
had car problems getting up there, and I was really
late to get there. If I hadn't had those car problems,
I wouldn't have had that time. It wouldn't have all
lined up right, Me being with Dusty Chip walking in
the room, me being able to thank Chip. So it
was just it was such a full circle moment and
(09:14):
sort of like closure for me on that chapter with
the river Cats. It was just for sure, it was
really really cool.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
And good for you for just taking that moment to
say thank you, because again, I don't think people say
thank you as often as they should, maybe not necessarily
because they're you know, in a facetious way. Yeah, you
don't have the opportunity and you don't think it wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Be appropriate for me to Oh gosh, no, I felt
like I had to say, yeah, thank you. I was
always appropriate, grateful, But anyway, it was just an amazing moment.
We have pictures. We're going to put up pictures from
our weekend on our Facebook page in a bit, and
I'm gonna include that I took a picture with Dusty
and with Chip, so we'll include that, right, we'll.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
See the picture and know what conversation just took place.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Yes, it was a very very great moment. We're at
eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one.
Do you have a brighter for us, Maybe something this
past weekend happened that you really enjoyed, or you've got
something coming up in your week. We would love to
hear from you. You can always send us that message, like
Court said earlier, with our iHeartRadio app and the talkback mic.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Also remember that phone number eight seven, seven, nine, eight one,
nine eight one. It's going to be super important coming
up this morning, let's say at eight o five, because
we've got your chance to win tickets to the Disneyland Resort.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
This is so fun. I mean, this season is here.
The Disneyland Resort is celebrating seventy years and they do
it right. Can you imagine the party they're throwing for themselves.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
It's a year long celebration.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Yeah, it's like they're having a party in inviting us.
We get to go be a part of this. And
by we we mean you so be here eight oh
five and four oh five every day this week your
chance to win four tickets to the Disneyland Resort. Here
on the Breeze, Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court, seven
twenty five. And because it is seven twenty five, that
means it is time for ask us anything. This is
(10:56):
where you call us or send us a message or
use our iHeartRadio. Have to ask us a question about anything.
Could be the Carolyn in Court, what do you think
about Southwest now charging for bags?
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Oh yeah, what a great question.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Don't love it? How do you feel about this hot weather?
Don't love ito? What's it? Like working with court.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah, you thought I was going to say boot engine.
Now no question is off limits, right, that's the point.
We may or may not answer it, but no question
is off limits.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
I love In today's question, David and Valleo sent us
this question via Facebook. He says, when you cook pasta,
do you this is really good stuff? When you cook pasta? Yeah?
Do you boil the water first and then put the
pasta in? Or do you put the pasta in with
the water and then boil it?
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Oh? I think you're supposed to boil the water because
the packages always say bring water to a boil right,
rapid boil?
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Yeah, you pasta.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
I can answer this right out of the day. You
do it the wrong way, probably, which is I just
put it all in the and turn it on high
and then walk away. Yep, how about you?
Speaker 1 (12:03):
I do it the correct way.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Do you think it matters?
Speaker 1 (12:06):
I think it does.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
What do you think that?
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Because I love, I love, but pasta to be l
Dante l Dante.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
I think it's el dundy whatever.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
I don't speak Italian, but just where it's it's soft
to the tooth, and that's the way pasta is best.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Who says soft to the that's what means.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
I think.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
I think it's al dente a dent dante. No, not
dante dente potato potato, not really, but.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
But I boil the fir water and then I add
my pasta, and I always following, you know, if it's
eight minutes, not one second past eight minutes. Wow, I
always read the box.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
I feel like mine is fine. I just throw it
in there, walk away, go watch some TV. Wait for
it to smell like pasta come back?
Speaker 1 (12:52):
Is your pasta soggi?
Speaker 2 (12:55):
I mean it's not great, okay, but it tastes fine.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
You. You live in a world of glue and free life,
and so your pasta is always gluten free, not pastas tricky,
and they haven't perfected that yet. So I just feel
bad for you all around.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Thank you, Court. That's really sweet. Wow. Well this took
a hard right we weren't expecting. But yes, ask us
anything where you ask us literally anything, and sometimes the
conversation does take that hard right that we don't see coming.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Bring it to a boil first, then put your pasta in.
As the pasta makers have done for centuries r they
gotta do it soft to the tooth. We now know
that phrase.
Speaker 2 (13:30):

Oh my goodness, I'm so surprised. Wow, this is awesome.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Who is this and where are you calling from?
Speaker 2 (15:17):
My name's Christina and I'm calling from Hollister. Okay, Christina,
who's going with you?
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Who?
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Who's on the guest list? You have question? Oh yeah
to my two boys and my happy for sure definitely
a perfect Okay Christina for two day, one park per
day Disneyland Resort tickets. At the Disneyland Resort, the happiest
place on earth, you'll find all kinds of happy And
there's no better time to visit because Disneyland is celebrating
(15:44):
it's seventieth year. It's all happening now. Wow, yay, thank you.
You're going to be a part of it. You are welcome.
We'll have another chance to win it four oh five
with Tony, and of course we'll do it again tomorrow
at eight oh five here on the breeze.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
So, Carolyn, I got a question for you. You've heard
of interventions before, Yes, interventions where a family or a
friend confronts somebody about some bad behavior. For sure, do
you think that an intervention can take place with the
family dog. I got a little bit of an issue
that it's my own doing, So maybe the intervention needs
to be with myself or the ability to go back
(16:22):
in time. But our dog, Charlie sleeps in the bed
with my wife and I and Charlie is this five
year old terrier, timid little dog, fifteen pounds, But when
he sleeps in that bed, he may as well be
fifteen hundred pounds because there is no moving him.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Oh, he's locked in.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
So I try to, like when we're going to bed,
I try to position him as far away from me
and my wife, like kind of dead center, but he
gravitates to one of us. And lately, I know, I.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Know, and there's nothing better than I'm not going to
help you.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
There's nothing better than a Charlie cuddle. The problem is,
middle of the night, he starts sleeping hard and the
legs go straight out. Yeah, I'm sure you see this
with Perk sometimes sometimes her legs go straight out. Yeah,
not even just like y're like straight out, yeah, like
extended out, all four of them, right into my side.
And so then I'm like trying to move him, but
(17:14):
I'm also I don't want to wake him up, right,
you want to startle him away. It's it's like, I'm.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
There's okay, I don't know what your intervention is going
to be. But if you're asking me if you need
to take Charlie and put him in a dog bed
and not in your bed, there's no way you're going
to do that.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
For it. We've already given him the good life.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Yeah, there's no way he's going back to a dogbed.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
That that bad habit started almost immediately, and again sometimes
it's not. But just lately it's just like straight ahead,
and again I can't. I can't even get in a move.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
I don't know what you do. I mean, maybe people
listening will have advice for you. Perk does not sleep
in bed with me because I don't want to ever
be in this situation. Plus she's a little bigger than
a fifteen pound dog. But I I don't know what
to tell you because you sort of created this. I've
created this issue, and I am not so port of
you kicking Charlie out of bed. I want him to
stay in bed with you. I think it's adorable. But
(18:04):
I'm also not the one with four feet with my
side in the middle of the nine.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
We have a king sized bed and I'm literally on
like three inches on the side.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
He just wants to be with yours to be I
know that is so My answer is keep doing what
you're doing, all right. We're at eight seven seven nine
eight one, nine eight one. If you have advice for court,
you can always send a talk back with our iHeartRadio
app and that talkback Mike.
