women say they always carry this in their purse.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Okay, we are at eight seven seven nine eight one
nine eight one. Good morning, Mario. What is your guest
this morning?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Makeup?

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Makeup? I was gonna have something in that.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
That's ninety nine point nine percent, Mario. There's always something
in there, like a cover up or an eyeliner, Always
something in there, So I think that number is is
a little higher.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Yeah, that's a good guess. Though.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Do you have a woman in your life that always
has makeup in her purse?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
My wife?

Speaker 5 (00:58):
Oh yeah, I want to probably as well.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
I love that you're just like listing off your wife's
person components.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Now my mind would be some hand lotion that comes
out of her purse, the dead that she puts on
every time we're in the car. Oh, that's cute, but
I don't like this. You know she's listening right though,
and I've told her before I go on. I've been
on record. This isn't new to her.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Mario. I'm sorry that you've had to get in the
middle of this counseling session between Court and his wife.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
I've loved to deal with it.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
I need it.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Thank you, guys, you too.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Rebecca in vallet Ho, You've got a guess.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
What is it?

Speaker 4 (01:36):
Y lips?

Speaker 1 (01:39):
That's a great guess too.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
How many lipsticks do you have in your purse right now?
Rebecca to Okay, I would have to guess. Then again,
this is me as an outsider. I'm not a woman,
but I would guess the number would be higher on
the percentage of people who have this in their purse. Yeah,
er than twenty five percent.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
I don't know, Like not all women carry lipstick in
their purse. I always worry about the melting factor, so
I don't like carry That is not correct, Ah, Rebecca, No.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Thanks for trying. Rebecca, have a good day.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Okay, well, doom, thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Gail in San Jose, what is your gas hand sanitizer.
Another guest for hand sanitizer, Court was saying earlier his
wife carries hand sanitizer and her purse. I've got some
in my backpack for sure that I never used. But
if they're just in case in case, I mean, that's
the thing, Gail. How many things do we have in
our purses or our bags that are there for just

(02:38):
in case that we never use?

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Oh yeah, and my purse exactly like I keep I
keep saying, I gotta get rid of stuff.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Yeah, So the answer is not hand sanitizer. The answer.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
One quarter of women say they always carry a toothbrush
in their purse.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Do you get a toothbrush? Now, say I don't either.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
I do carry dental.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Oh okay, that's toothbrush adjacent.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, and I guess technically it's probably the the that's
the clean. Yeah, clean you want because most people like
want to make sure there's not anything stuck between their teeth.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Okay, yeah, well no.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
But the thing is is you get something stuck between
your teeth and.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
It's like you can't get it out. Yeah, And that's
that's why I carry it because more annoying.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
I just I just think a good toothbrushing. Tooth brushing
just feels great.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
It feels so good.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
We have a person here, a woman here that works
at the radio station that I know when she's been
in the restroom because it smells like toothpaste. Can I
go in there? Which I'm not mad. It's the breastm
smell like toothpaste.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Right, sure it could. It could definitely smell worse.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
It could be worse.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
And note, all right, have a great day.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
It's the morning Breeze brain teas, and we do it
every weekday morning at this time here on the morning Breeze.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Yes, and a reminder when you get to the office today,
even if you're working from home, half the breeze on.
We do this every weekday morning. We go commercial free
and that's coming up at eight fifty with ninety eight
minutes non stop relaxing favorites, commercial free on the breeze.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
There so court.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Question for you, how do you store your ice cream
in the freezer?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Okay, you're ready for this.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Yeah, they take the ice cream, I put the lid
on it, I put it inside the freezer.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
I shut the freezer door.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Wrong.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Wrong.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
There's a study out and it evolves Ben and Jerry, Well,
the experts in ice cream, thanks for sure.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
So Ben and Jerry say, the way we should be
storing our ice cream in a freezer is you flip
it upside down before you put it in the freezer,
and that helps prevent freezer burn because it stops the
moisture from setting on top and reading your ice cream. Interesting,
so lid on now, of course they say put that
lid on tight, otherwise you're going to have a their words,

(05:01):
dessert disaster.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Yeah. And you know, Ben and Jerry is one of
the companies that that has that little plastic seal on top.
I believe the plastic seal is such a pan and
a lot of times that gets pulled off and discarded.
But I try to keep those things just as an
extra barrier. So maybe combination of you peel not the

(05:24):
ring around you peel off and typically you know you
see that on like sour creams and totally yeah, I
like to leave it there because it's an extra barrier.
So now you're saying, put the lid on, turn it
upside down, then it goes in the freezer. You'll avoid
freezer burn that way. I actually want to try this.

(05:45):
Who keeps ice cream that long where they start getting
freezer bur but they have to care about this. Yeah,
that never happens in my house.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
That's a fair point on that, So it begs the question, then,
do you have any food storage habits that others might
find strange?

Speaker 2 (06:01):
One that I've been told is strange is I love
to keep our maple syrup in the refrigerator.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
You do, yes, for some reason. I just like it cold.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
I like maple syrup cold to the point where if
I go to those pancake places where it's warmed up
for you, oh yeah, no, thanks to you, or even
room temperatures better than warm. Okay, I know it's strange.
And then butter, we actually keep our butter out of
the fridge. We don't keep having the fridge.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
That was going to be mine. My grandma used to
keep her butter in the cabinet, in the cover it
in like a little butter dish, yes, with a top. Yes, yeah,
that's the way ours is. Ours doesn't go in the cabinet.
It just sits by the microwave. It's such a trick
because I feel like butter is dairy and dairy it
should be refrigerated. So I cannot keep behind keeping butter
on the counter.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
I have yet to experience molded butter. It it never gets
molded or gross. I don't know if it's just because
we're diligent with keeping the lid on it. That's good
news and bad news. Because they do have those butter
bells that are they you? The butterbells create it's a
ring of water that creates a seal and protects the butter.
But we've never dealt with that.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
We asked this question on our Facebook page ninety eight
one the breeze of food storage habit that you have
that others might find strange. Sanja says that he puts
bananas in the fridge after the ripe. A cold banana,
not a fan.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
I like, but I like cold apples. We keep our
apples in the frost. Me too.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Yeah, that's the other thing, the opposite of that fruit
on the countertop when it's like a lukewarm apple, not
a fan, not a fan. I'll put it next to
your syrup in the fridge. So join that conversation on
our Facebook page at ninety eight one of the breeze
call us eight seven seven nine nine eight one or
send us a message with our iHeartRadio app and that
talkback mic.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Yeah, you'll never get a busy signal when you use
that talkback mic. Click the red microphone button, leave your message.
We'll get it here in the studio.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Good morning, the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and cor We're
gonna get into the Brighter Side right now. We love
this time of the morning because this is when we
totally turn it over to you and let you call
us and tell us about the good stuff that's happening
in your life, things that make you happy, things that
you're excited about. Brighter Side sponsored by Shreeven Company, Luxury
time pieces, fine designers and Flawless Diamonds. And you can

(08:11):
reach us with your Brighter Side at eight seven seven
nine eight one oh nine eight one.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
And good morning to Kathy in Walnut Creek. Now we
understand you're working but close to retirement, and you've got
plans for when that happens.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Working for Kayser. When I retire, I'm going to go
volunteer at this local sisted Living.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
That's because I love the elderly.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
And I think it means so much to them to
have people come by and visit every day because unfortunately,
there are many people that live in senior living that
don't have people to come visit. So like, if you're
going by every day or once a week, even Kathy,
it makes such a difference.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Well, I just want, you know, and it doesn't matter.
It doesn't even want it to be. I want to
do more than once a week because I told him,
Like my son, I took a director out in Union
City for assisted living and he said, Mom wanted to
come work from me out here. I said, no, I
want to be on here because there's so many out here.
I can move around to different ones if they'll allow
me to do that. After being working in healthcare.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
I think they will take any help they can get
when it comes to a nice person who wants to
volunteer her time and just spend time with the seniors,
and I.

Speaker 6 (09:17):
Enjoy it because for some reason here it kids her.
With the crew that I work with, they just they
can't believe how the seniors magnetize towards me when they
come in.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
You have a gift and I don't know, it's it's
just it's it's strange because they all they're like, no
way for her okay, huge, and so it makes it
warms my heart, you know, and especially the ones that
are on the on the spectrum for dementia, when they're
right on that verge, you know, because maybe because I

(09:51):
am older and I sit and take the time with them, well.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
They gravitate towards you because you're patient with them and
you don't make them they feel, you know, uncomfortable or threatened.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Short.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah, that's great. Well, go enjoy your day. Thank you
for calling in. I appreciate it, and have a great
dank guys.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
I will thank you guys. You guys, take care of yourself,
you too.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Kathy, I so love her story of just finding the
enjoyment and going in and being with seniors in retirement.
When I was in my early twenties and living overseas,
once a week we would go to a retirement home
and sing and it was the it was the thing
I look forward to the most during the week, singing
French songs with these you know old folks.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
They do that at my mom's place at Carlton Downtown,
Pleasant Hill. They have they have people come in and
sing and perform for them and the seniors love them.
Think about it, you know, it's a big deal for them.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
It's pretty great.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
If you've got a brighter side like Kathy, we would
love to hear from you. Eight seven seven nine eight
one nine eight one. Is how you reach us and
also send us your brighter sides via talkback on our
free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Billie Joel ninety eight point.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
One, The Breeze, The Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court,
and now is the time where we turn.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
The show over to you.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
That's right at.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Least with your questions is ask us anything anything on
your mind, whether it has to do with the show
or just a general question, send it to us. You
can call us eight seven seven nine eight one nine
eight one, or send us a talk back on our
free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
The questions we've been getting are so good too, because
it's such a variety, Yeah, about so many different things,
which is exactly what I love about doing this every
weekday morning, at this time this morning, it's Raleigh in Nevado.
Ralely ask us anything.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
I just want to know what what I know? What
brought you Carolyn into broadcasting because I heard you talk
about it before, But what brought Court into broadcasting? And
from Utah to the Bay Area excelling questions.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Yeah, so I was lucky enough that in my high
school we had a radio program. We had a high
school radio station, so I did radio there and then
just kind of fell in love with the performance part
of being on the radio and playing music.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
That was maybe maybe it was more so playing music.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
I got to go in and play all my favorite
bands on Monday night, and then I fell in love
with the performance part. And then eventually got a job
in Salt Lake City, and then moved to Portland and
did radio, and then San Francisco came a callin.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
And now we're not letting him go, Reley.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
Not let him go. He is a keeper, can you guys?
You guys crapped me up. And I just I love
the videos on your Facebook and anyway, you guys cracked
me up. So from you guys, you have a good one.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Oh you too, Reley, Thank you again. Yeah, ask us anything,
and that's exactly what it's about. Anything that comes to mind,
about anything happening in your life and our lives, the show,
the world, whatever. We'll take all of your questions. We
do it every weekday morning here at seven twenty five.
You can give us a call it eight seven seven
nine eight one nine eight one.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Or you can use the talkback feature on our free
iHeartRadio up again.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
It's easy to do.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Just look for the red microphone button while you're streaming
the Breeze, click it, your message and your question will
show up here in the studio.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Love that one so much. That is Gloria A step on.
Happy Thursday morning to you. It is the Morning Breeze.
It's Carolyn and Corydon. It is eight oh eight.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
Carolyn.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Did I mention that I swallowed a fly yesterday?

Speaker 4 (13:24):
I swallow a fly?

Speaker 1 (13:26):
No, you did not mention to lie? Well done?

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Uh, I failed to mention that to you. I figure I.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Would remember if you told me you swallowed a fly.
What that's disgusting? And how oh court oh.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
It snuck up on.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Obviously it was not intentional, and I'm still not entirely
sure if it was like your common house fly, like
a larger fly, or if it's those I I realized
this when I moved to the Bay Area two and
a half years ago, is that there's they're kind of
like gnats there. They hover around when it starts to
get a little bit more in the summer. Oh, you

(14:01):
see them out on the streets and there's always like
five or six of them just hovering around.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
I call those dumb flies. So the flies that like
don't really fly anywhere, They just kind of congregate in
the air, and they.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
Just going in these little circles, and there's always five
or six. It might have been. It happened so quick.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
So I was in my building walking through the lobby
and I just and there was a neighbor down there,
and so I went to say hey to the neighbor.
And I opened my mouth and said hey, and and so.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
So then and then I'm like, I've got a fly
in my mouth.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
So I'm I'm trying to figure out what to do
because I got also trying to acknowledge the neighbor and
be neighborly.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
How do you how do you not start gagging?

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Yes, well, I forget out.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
I tried to, but I also didn't want to, like,
because I don't think the neighbor. I'm pretty sure the
neighbor did not see the fly go into the mouth.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
No, I'm pretty sure that they didn't unless they were
standing in front of you with a microscope.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Right, So.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Outside, I tried to get as far away as possible,
and then I just start coughing, just trying to cough.
But that didn't seem to fix the problem. So then
it just became a matter of.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Did you eat it like a hammerger or something, just
eat something to wash it down.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Yeah. I didn't eat a hamburger.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
I got something drink very quickly, just to kind of
helped clear my throat the rest of the day. I
had a little tickle in my throat all day long.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
You thought it was a fly, like stuck in your throat.

Speaker 6 (15:27):
The fly.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Oh my gosh, that is so much to take in now.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Again, it happened so fast.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
I know. It's like my nightmare when I see those flies,
like I hope I never swallow one of these, and
here is evidence that it can happen.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
What I wanted to do was freak out and start
kind of coughing loud way. But but again, there was
somebody present. I didn't want them to think I was
a crazy person, So instead I just.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
I don't even know what to say. I didn't swallow
the fly, even know what to say or where to
go with this one. But that is a rough day.
I'm going to give you the award for the roughest
day yesterday just from that incident alone. All right, so congratulations,
thank you.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
I wonder what everybody listening right now is thinking. Well,
probably should have did a disclaimer. Hopefully you're not eating
breakfast and for that I apologize.

Speaker 1 (16:19):

always send us a message our iHeartRadio app. Use that
talkback mic. We have so many people using our app
to send us talkbacks and we love getting your messages.
They're great.

Speaker 4 (16:33):

the you'll call into the Morning Breeze and we're not
able to get to your your.

Speaker 4 (16:40):

Speaker 1 (16:40):

a busney busy signal before is that talkback app? Yeah, App,
