The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on demand, Backstreet Boys
six oh seven, Good Morning It is the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Court. Monday Morning, March seventeen, twenty twenty five,
also known as Saint Patrick's Day, Saint Patrick's Day, Top
of the Morning, to your, Top of the Morning, to
you Court. I looked over. Court has got his lovely

(00:21):
green hat on courtesy of the San Francisco Giants.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
That's courtesy of the San Francisco Giants, and one Carolyn
mccarl has gave me this set.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Looks good on you though, Thank you? Yeah, yeah, so
happy Saint Patty's I am wearing green today?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Are you?

Speaker 1 (00:33):
I have green pants on?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Okay I hadn't.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
I really brought it, brought it home with the pants.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
I learned over the weekend that when you shorten like
you just did Saint Patrick's Day to Saint Patti's Day, Yeah,
it's pa d D. Why I've seen it that way,
and I always wondered, is it's there's a reason in Irish,
in like old Irish, when you go when you shortened Patrick,
it needs to be the d D. Why because the
tty is the female pat Patricia oh yeah, no kidding.

(01:01):
And that's they're like, it's a different name.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Man. It's like working with an encyclopedia every morning. How
did I get so lucky?

Speaker 2 (01:08):
It's my gift to everybody, I suppose, and especially you.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Well, I appreciate it, and I feel like I haven't
seen the end of Saint Patrick's Day. It's just the
beginning Patty's Day. Facts. We are at eight seven seven
nine eight one oh nine eight one. Coming up this morning,
six twenty five, we've got the Morning Breeze brain teas.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
All right. A recent survey asked adults what they missed
most about being a kid, and the number one answer.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Was this, Oh, so many things. Hanging out with Dana Fairbanks,
riding bikes.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Pretty sure, Pretty sure, hanging out with Dana Fairbanks is
not the answer today, Hillie Shelton, not Juliet.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
What about Jeff Gardner? Okay, all right, if you have
the answer eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one, Morning Breeze brains, he's coming up six twenty
five on the Breeze perfectly, d Justin Bieber at six
twenty five, You've got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Cord and it's time for the morning Breeze Brain Teas, which,
by the way, is sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're

(02:11):
in clean hands with Mike Council Plumbing. Visit them online
at mc plumbing dot com. This is one of those
questions today court that I think so many answers are
applicable here, but I know obviously you're looking for one
answer in particular.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yeah, because the question is a recent survey asked adults
what they miss most about being a kid, and the
number one answer is this.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
All right, we're at eight seven seven nine eight one
oh nine eight one Hector in Walnut Creek, Good morning.
What do you think The answer.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Is probably waking up early mornings and going outside and
all your friends are outside. Yeah, yeah, those play days.
Oh go man, got a care in the world. You'd
leave in the morning, come back at night when the
three lights come on. Or your mom does a whistle.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
For the whistle, such a classic.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
My mom's more of a yell.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I think my mom yelled too, or some one of
my brothers. I love it. But your mom had a whistle, Hector.
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, I love that answer, Hector, but it is not
the correct one this morning.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah, have a good day though, Oh thank you, Okay,
take care of Lily.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
And Heyward, what do you think the answer is? No worries?
I had a story about nothing at all, no worries,
no worries, cares in the world. Isn't that true? It's
pretty close to the right answer. I could because the
the top answer according to the survey was not having
to pay for anything. So again, no worries.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I think I think that counts. I think you got it.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
What what? I'm luck you gave my goodness. Thank you
so much.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
It's gonna be a good day for you. I think. Now,
do you remember when you were a kid, how you
never had to pay for anything? And like just the
concept of being able to say, Hey Mom, Hey Dad,
can I borrow five dollars? Can I borrow twenty dollars?
Like here you go. It's like the bank of mom
and dad.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Oh yeah, of course. Of course, my parents never give
me any money, so I don't know. That must have
been nice, Carolyn.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I'm not saying it happened, Lily. Did it happen in
your family? Let's talk to you.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
We weren't out left you because our my parents they
really did not pay us for chores. We had to
do the chores. What kind of a life are you living, Carolyn?
I had, I said, I had, you know, wead the
garden and then what I got to live in my
house parents.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
That was boiled. We just okay, you too. Enough well, Lily, congratulations,
you got it right. Oh, thank you so much. It's awesome.
Well we appreciate you listening. Thank you and have a
wonderful day.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Thank you you too.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Okay, bye bye.

Speaker 2 (04:42):

uber or a lift driver. Sure we're here to help.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Yep, we got you commercial free at eight fifty on
the Breeze.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Gotta say, one of the things I love most about
Stevie Wonder is you know when his songs are over see,
he just he ends them with floorish Stevie Wonder. Six
forty three, it's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court
and it's time for ask us anything.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Every weekday morning at six forty a chance for you
to email us dm us, leave us a talk back,
and ask us literally anything I like. This morning's Lizette
in Fremont. Thank you for listening. Lizette. She keeps it
simple coffee or tea ooh. Which we put this question
on our Facebook page this morning and asked, like, what's

(05:47):
the one thing you have to have in your coffee
or tea? But like for you, Court, yeh, coffee or tea.
I'm more of a coffee person. Yeah, me too. Yeah,
he's fine.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
I've never I don't think I've ever done the more
traditional teas like the black tea or like the I've
done more of the herbal teas. Yeah. I enjoy a
good herbal tea, especially when a cold's happening.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Oh yeah, that's when I drank tea.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
I'm throat.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Yeah, Or if I've had enough coffee where I say
to myself, Carolyn, you cannot have one more sip of coffee.
You need to have something else and I don't want water. Yeah,
tea teas like my coffee backup, right, But that's you're
talking about an herbal tea. Yes, that's we're not talking
like an like an Earl Gray, right, or.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
A breakfast tea.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
I didn't know we were having tea talk this morning
on the morning Breeze.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
And I don't know too many people who get into
that type of tea, like the black tea.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Well somebody does, because it's all over our kitchen. We've
got multiple options in the kitchen, all kinds of teas,
but it looks like, for the most part, for me,
hands down coffee. But when we're asking, okay, so what
is that thing you have to put in your coffee
or your tea? You know what I have to have. Yes,
everybody's saying cream or die. But the one thing that

(06:59):
I am hooked on, and it's thanks to you, is
the Lucerne Belgian chocolate toffee. I hope they don't start
selling out now because I can get it and I
keep waiting for it to be There's.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Been times where it feels like it's in short supply. Yeah, no,
that's the so good so good.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I don't know, how did you stumble on upon that?

Speaker 2 (07:18):
I was just trying. I was searching for something new.
I think for years I had used like a coffee
Mate brand of some sort, yes and too, and it just,
I don't know, just my taste buds got tired of it,
and I stumbled upon this. It's Belgian coffee, Belgian toffee
chocolate yep, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
It's so good, super sugary and good, but it's not
like over sugary. You know, sometimes you have a creamer
in your coffee and you feel like you're drinking a
modified chocolate, like a liquid chocolate bar. This is not that.
And it's affordably priced.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Too, so it's like a mocha every morning.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
It is. And now I want to go get coffee
when we're done with this. So good, great recommendation, but
join the conversation on our Facebook page ninety eight one
The Breeze. You can call us anytime eight seven seven
nine eight one nine eight one. It is ask us anything,

fifty we're going to help you out with ninety eight

your workday.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Yes, we will do that. At eight fifty on the Breeze, it's.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Wendy Houston here on ninety eight point one the Breeze,
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. Seven oh
eight is the time, and that means it is time
for the Brighter Side. This is where you tell us
about the good things happening in your life, things that
are wonderful, upbeat, cheery, m hmm. If they make you happy,
we want to hear about it. Eight seven seven nine,
eight one oh nine eight one Brighter Side sponsored by

(08:42):
Shreven Company, Luxury time Pieces, fine designers and Flawless Diamonds.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Over the weekend I heard about one piece at least
of good news out of the southern California wildfires. There
is a Maine coon cat named Aggie, and Aggie was
feared lost or heaven forbid war right, and her owner
is an eighty two year old woman named Katherine Keefer.
So Catherine's house literally burned down to ashes, right, and

(09:11):
she was obviously so sad about her house, and then
her cat disappeared. So you could imagine this eighty two
year old woman and her cat, like she's just a mess, devastated.
So there was something apparently that told Catherine that Aggie
was okay, Like in her being, she just kept thinking,
I know Aggie's still alive, I know I'm going to

(09:31):
see her again, but you're still afraid at the same time.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Well, the other day, after two months, Catherine got a
call from the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter and they
had Aggie. Oh wow, so Aggie is five years old.
She was gifted to Catherine from a friend during COVID
because Catherine lived alone or lives alone, and so she
got this wonderful cat as a gift. So you can

(09:56):
imagine just how devastated she was when they were separated.
And then to get this call after Aggie's been missing
two months to say she's okay and now they've been reunited.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Oh it's the best story. Like we'll take any sort
of good news, I think from those Southern California fire.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Have you ever seen a main coon. Yeah, they're just
they're a bigger cat. Yeah, just kind of look a
little different, they look more almost more wild. Slightly they
do they're they they remind me of raccoons a little bit.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Welcoon do yeah, but they just they they look big
because they're fur, but you pick them up and your
hands just go right absorbed into a not as small
a cat there as you thought. They're so cute. That's
so happy to hear that story, and happy for Catherine
that she's reunited with Aggie. We're at eight seven seven
nine eight one, nine eight one. If you've got a

(10:44):
brighter side for us, you can always send us a
message with our ihar radio at that talkback Mike.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Also a great time to remind you that's happening. This
Friday will be we will once again be naming a
new Morning Breeze Person of the Week. Right now, our
champion is Villamore.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
I know, so happy for him, be Fred, I'm so
well deserved.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
So we talked about villemore on this past Friday, talked
about all the great things he's doing. We also awarded
him brunch for two on the Bay courtesy of City Cruises.
But we do this every single week, so once again
on Friday, we'll do it again. But we still need
your nominations.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Yeah, send those into us. Tell us who that person
is for you. You can nominate them right there on
our home page. Takes just two seconds. Ninety eight one
The Breeze dot com.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
This music from Naked Eyes here at seven twenty seven
ninety eight point one The Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Court.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Okay, I've got a what would Court do question for you?

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Wow, I'm not sure about this.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
I'm going to tell you about this situation. It actually
happened here at work, okay, and I want to see
you what you would have done in this situation. So
we have a coworker who's great. Her husband has worked
for Nike for a while and he gets a very
nice discount yes on clothing. So once in a while
she'll say, hey, if you want anything, I can get
you this discount and get you xyz. I've never taken her.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Up on this.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
You're more of an adidascal i am. But she was
wearing these rain boots the other day. I'm like, I
love those. So she says, do you want a pair?

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Now?

Speaker 1 (12:07):
In my mind I thought, WHOA, what a great office.
She's just given me a pair of She's going to
give me a pair of these Nike rain boots. This
is great, and I said sure. She goes, okay. I
see her on her phone. She says, all right ordered.
I'm like, oh my gosh, you just ordered them. That's fantastic.
She goes, yeah, eighty four seventy three. So I went, okay,

(12:33):
let me Venmo. You yea, what do you do? It's
too late. I thought I shouldn't have assumed. I should
never assume. But the way court that the conversation went,
I led me to believe I was about to be
gifted this wonderful pair of rain being told the price

(12:54):
in eighty four seventy three.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Here's my Venmo.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
The shoes came, by the way, they're great, but they
were also eighty four to seventy three.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Yeah, and so what do you do? I mean, you
just have to shush up and just I guess you
could have said, oh, I wasn't. I would have made
it awkward. You would have because there's time to cancel,
cancel orders.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
I feel bad, no, because then what do you say?
I thought you were going to pay for them for me.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
You just would have been like I said, You're like,
I didn't. I haven't budgeted for this yet. Give me,
give me some time to think about it. Eighty four
is a little more than I wanted to spend A
pair of rain.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Boots already too awkward. I just paid her.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
So rather than just have that awkward conversation, you just
fork out somebody that you hadn't planned on spending.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Sweet pair of rainboots is probably going to sit in
the closet forever. So I'll say, how often are you
going to wear those rainboots?

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Put them on today?

Speaker 1 (13:45):
I could, Yeah, and they've got some green in them
for Saint Patrick's Day. You go, that might work, all right,
it's an eighty four to seventy three Saint Patrick's day.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Now, you know, in the future, if you start talking
about anything you see her wearing like and she says
you like these to be like, yeah, great, I don't
need them. Just add that out of the end. Okay.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
If anybody else has advice, I'd like to eight seven
seven nine nine eight one, or send us a message
with our iHeartRadio app in that talkback microphone.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Instagram, because coming up later in the show eight point fifty,
as you start your workday, we're helping out with ninety
eight minutes of NonStop commercial free relaxing favorites.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Yes, a great way to start your day. If you
are working at home today you don't have to do
the commute, good for you because it's messy out there.
Or if you are in the office. We got you
either way, commercial free for ninety eight minutes here on
the Breeze.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and court and Vanessa
Williams at eight o nine cord.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
How do you feel about the fact that cars are
becoming more and more technologically savvy. Are you good with
embracing the technology? How things are just getting more and
more advanced. I'm down with it to some degree. I
love the fact that cars will stop for you. If
you're not seeing the car in front of you breaking,
it'll break for you. In fact, I was in a

(15:02):
rental not too long ago. It without me telling it
to and putting a setting on it would it would
slow me down if the car in front of me
was slowing down too fast. Oh and I at first
I was like, wait a minute, I'm the boss, and
then I thought not, Actually, I really love this. It's
like when your car lets you know you're going into
the lane next to you, and it kind of pulls
the wheel.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Back all these things, and it may be as a parent,
you know, I've got two teenage daughters, especially my seventeen
year old. Just knowing that the cars that they're gonna
inherit and have are just safer for them, it's a.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Good way to look at it. Yeah, Well, it's interesting
because more and more people are saying that the latest
car technology it's driving them crazy. They're saying it's too much,
like there is too much advanced technology. I got into
a rental car a couple of weeks ago, and it
was really embarrassing it because I got into the car
and there were people around right and there was somebody

(15:53):
behind me waiting for me to go. And I didn't
know how to turn on the car. Oh, and I
sat there and I started, I look like a crazy
person would start a panic. And I'm doing that thing
where you can tell, if you're in the car behind
you that the person in front of you has got
a major problem. I'm looking around, and finally I found
the button to turn the car on. But things like
that that is.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
A problem because you know, obviously the key used to
go into somewhere by the steering column in the ignition
and now it's a button. And now they don't put
the buttons in the same place anymore. Right that I
actually saw. I can't remember what website it was, but
it was like the New York Times or something like that,
talking about similar to this, how the gear shift is changed.
It changed in vehicles, like you no longer have a lever,

(16:34):
like a knob like a shifter.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Oh yeah, that's true too.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
That's changed too, Like Jeeps and Chryslers have actually have
a knob just to di dial your turn to what
gear it is. Mercedes Benz have it. It's back up
on the steering wheel. But it's not like a remember
the old station wagon. Oh yeah, you'd have to pull
it out. You were literally moving the gears. You don't.
They don't do that anymore. So it's more like like
a button. And then some have like weird tracking pads.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
See this is think of how far we've come. Now
you get into a car and there's a computer screen
literally on your dashboard and you're like boom boom boom,
and you know, right, oh see, this is why so
people are saying that it's it's too much for them,
But I understand that how do you feel about it
eight seven seven, nine eight one, nine eight one. Are
you a fan of the technology? Are you embracing it?

(17:21):
Or do you think that we're going too far, too fast.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Here's my official response, Yes, kind of okay.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Thanks, Thanks for the follow up on that you can
always send us a message our iHeartRadio app and that
talkback microphone.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
And coming up later this morning eight fifty. As you
begin your workday and your work week, we're helping out
with ninety eight minutes commercial free.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
A great way to start off your day in the
office or whatever it is that you're up to today.
We've got ninety eight minutes of NonStop commercial free relaxing
favorites that starts right at eight point fifty here on
the Breeze
