Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, the Morning Breeze on demand the jets
and make it real. And it is six, so six,
good morning. It is the morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Court on this May first. I know, I know, we
have to stop saying the same thing every morning. I
can't get it's May. How quickly this zier is going
(00:24):
that it's May. But it is May first. Happy May Day,
Happy May Day.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Court.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Weather yesterday in the Bay area again a beautiful day.
Today more of the same, teeny bit cooler, like a
couple degrees, but we're still in the seventies inlands, sixties
by the coast.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yesterday's weather was so great, Caroline. I decided to do
something I've been talking to you about for some time, oh,
which is walking from where I live, which is in
south of Market near the Bay, all the way over
to the Ocean Ocean, Ocean Beach.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Court goes out on walks literally every day, and I
feel like you have this inner competition with yourself where
every day you go a little bit further. He texted
me the other day and he was at hate Ashbury
and I said, you walked there, yes, And then it's
like eight You're doing like eight miles a day.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Yesterday's ended up being a little over eight eight miles
because I did go from south of Market by Oracle
Park all the way over to Ocean Beach that's Crue
through Golden Gate Park. It was pretty pretty fabulous.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
And isn't it fun to be a tourist on foot
in San Francisco see all sorts of stuff, see so much.
It's great, that's cool. You basically did Beta breakers yesterday,
did my own?
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Somebody should.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
We had a T shirt for you. Okay, it says
the breeze. It doesn't sound I'll take it. No, that's
very cool. How'd you get home?
Speaker 2 (01:44):
I hop on the Juda line the Muni.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Oh that's smart. Yeah, I'm gonna say, if you're walking back,
that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
No, good for you.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
We'll get out and do something today, everybody. It's going
to be a beautiful day here in the Bay Area.
As we said, we are at eight seven seven, nine
to eight one one. Coming up at eight twenty this morning.
We have your next chance to see the world of
Hans Zimmer. This is something this week. He is a
composer and he's done a bunch of big movies and
people have been going crazy for these tickets.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah. He composed the score for two of my favorite movies,
which are Gladiator and Interstellar. I love both of those soundtracks,
the movie score on those and so this is this
really immersive experience where you go and you see images
from the movie and the music here plays. Yeah, and
it's really great. So yeah, at eight twenty this morning,
two tickets to the World of Hans Zim are coming
(02:34):
your way.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Yes. And at six twenty five, we've got the Morning
Breeze brain Teas.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
All right. According to a survey, sixteen percent of parents
want their kid to learn how to play this instrument.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Oh this instrument? Okay, hmm, all right, I think I
have an idea. Okay, all right eight seven seven nine
eight one nine eight one. What is your guest? We're
gonna play the brain Teas at six twenty five. Right here,
it's Phil Collins and it is six twenty five. The
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. Morning Breeze Brain Teas
(03:07):
is something that we do every weekday morning at six
twenty five. I always run into people Court that listen
to the Breeze and they're like, I love the brain Tease.
I listen every morning I play along eight seven, seven nine,
eight one oh nine eight one is how you reach us?
The morning Breeze brain Teas sponsored by Mike Council Plumbing.
You're in clean hands with Mike Council Plumbing. Visit them
at mc plumbing dot com.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
According to a survey, sixteen percent of parents want their
children to learn how to play this instrument.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Okay? Eight seven, seven, nine, eight one oh nine eight one.
Robin and Benetia, good morning. You have a guest for us.
What is it?
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Piano? Well, I played an accordion and I always wanted
to play a piano.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Oh yeah, they're actually the same.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Keys, right, it's just at the buttons do the rhythm
instead of the upper class.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Okay, really yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
It sounds like you are a true musician.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
I'm over here pretending like I know what she's talking about.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
So is that the answer?
Speaker 2 (04:02):
It's a really good guess and it's close, but it's
not the right answer.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
It's close, okay, all right, Robin, have a good day.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
All right, have a great day.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Good morning. Chelsea in San Jose, your turn. What do
you think the answer is to today's brain tease?
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Guitar guitar.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Now, why would you say guitar? Interesting guests, Well, piano
would be a bigger percentage, So this has got to
be something a little more niche. You would think I
would feel like more like parents would want guitar. I mean,
I guess they probably don't care. They're like, just learn
an instrument, that's great. But I feel like guitar is
more common. I actually have the full list. Here have
the list. Okay, we wait, so is good?
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Is guitar the answer?
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (04:42):
No, it is not the answer.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Chelsea. Do you know how to play an instrument?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
I used to. I used to play the violin when.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
I was in junior high the violin. Kind of surprised
you did say violin, because, ah, here's the interesting thing.
Guitar is actually the number one instrument parents want their
kids to play at twent Piano is number two.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Drums, for some reason is number three. Why would they
do ye? Well, brother Scott played the drums growing up.
I apologize to our neighbors in the eighties and conquered
my goodness.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, so then draw and then after drums. It's violent.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Interesting.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
See, Chelsea, you should have stuck with your gut, with
what you played speak from experience.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
I see why you chose guitar, because guitar is definitely
a popular it's very popular. Well, Chelsea, we appreciate you listening.
Thank you, You're welcome. Have a great day you too,
Bye bye bye.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
It's the Morning Breeze brain tease, something we do every
weekday morning at six twenty five here on the Morning Breeze.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
And make sure you're with us Tomorrow morning, just after
seven o'clock as we announce our next Morning Breeze Person
of the Week. There is still time to get your
nominations in. Yeah, this is the celebration of people in
the Bay Area doing good things. We also award them
Brunch for two on the Bay courtesy of City Cruises.
So get those nominations in on our website ninety eight
one the Breeze dot Com. That, of course, is when
(06:03):
it is Caroly's whisper Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court
it is six forty two, Good morning, good morning, and
it is time for you to ask us anything.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
This is where you can ask the Morning Breeze pretty
much any question on Earth. Anything pops into your mind.
You're like, I wonder what Carolyn thinks about this, or
I wonder what Court thinks about that.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Yes, I love this. So you could ask questions about
the show about things that are happening in the world
right now. You could ask simple questions like chocolate milk
or regular milk. I know it's the first thing that
popped into my mind, which is concerning.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I love today's question because Kendra in Oakland sent this
to us via Facebook messenger. She said, when you were
a kid, what comic strip did you read?
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (06:47):
I love this question.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Oh. I was actually thinking about this the other day
because I remember fighting with my siblings about who got
the Sunday comics.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
I know, do you remember getting the comics?
Speaker 2 (06:56):
It was the best.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Remember when you try and take the comics and you'd try,
I mean put them on a piece of silly putty. Oh,
the silly putty on comic transfer. Yes. Yeah, and just
the smell of the newspaper. Ah, your thumbs would have
like ink on them.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
The best. It's something my daughters will never experience.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Man, it's so true.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
What is it for you as a kid? What comic
strip did you did? You love?
Speaker 1 (07:20):
No brainer? I went right to the Peanuts cartoon. I'm
a Snoopy fan through and through have loved Snoopy since
I was little still due to this day. So for me,
I did not miss the Snoopy cartoon, how about you?
Speaker 2 (07:32):
For me, it was my altime favorite. Calvin and Hobbs.
Oh Calvin and has so good, so thoughtful, and just
was so great and only lasted a short amount of
time if you really think about it.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Oh my gosh, yeah that's true. That wasn't a life
for like the other you know, it's so funny. So
we put this question on our Facebook page at ninety
eight one of the breeze, and I have to say
that reading through the answers or the comments that our
listeners have put on this page is like a trip
back in time.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Like Elaine wrote, she used to read Family Circus right,
that was her comic strip. Another great one, Henry likes Garfield. Sure,
you know, it's like reading through this Mad magazine is
on there. Somebody even put like the Bazooka Joe Gum wrapper.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Oh sure those were really great.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Yeah, oh I love this.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
My second favorite and another one that went away too
soon was the Far Side. Oh yes, that was that
was like really like quirky humor. Yes, and even today
those hold up so well. Yeah, the far side is
so good.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
You know.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
When I was growing up. Fun fact thing, one thing
that you actually don't know about me, Court, okay, is
when I was growing up and I was like probably
eight or nine years old, my goal in life was
to grow up and to write comic strips. Oh really,
I wanted to do like the writing for them, and
I tried drawing. I started out like trying to do
a comic strip, like, but I'm such I'm so bad
(08:54):
at drawing just illustrations that I quickly gave up. And
then I wanted to do cards because I like writing.
So I was like, well, maybe I'll write the greeting cards.
That didn't work out, but I feel like I did. Okay, Yeah,
I think you landed on your feet.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
All right.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
No, this is a fun question though, so join our
Facebook page with this discussion. Ninety eight one the breeze
or call us at eight seven seven nine eight one
nine eight one. Kendra, that's a great question. Thank you again,
And this is what asks us. Anything is all about?
It literally could be anything certainly.
Speaker 2 (09:24):

Brighter Side, brought to you by Shreven Company, Luxury time Pieces,
fine designers and Flawless Diamonds. If you've never heard the
Brider Side before, how would you describe it to somebody?
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Carolyn I would say that Brighter Side is a chance
for you to think about the good stuff in your life.
We always love just our show in general, right starting
people's day off with a smile or some sort of positivity.
So be thinking about, like, what is it in your
life that's good that you've got going on that makes
you happy. Could be your kids, could be your parents,
It could be your job, whatever the case may be.
(10:19):
We want to hear it.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
You really nailed it with a smile. I like to say,
if it brings a smile to your face, that's what
we want to hear about. So call us eight seven
seven nine eight one nine eight one. Also use that
talkback feature on our free iHeartRadio app. Great way for
you to send us a brighter side.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Yes, and it's Sylvia and Alameda this morning, so you
have a brighter side for us. What is it?
Speaker 3 (10:38):
We're gone away with my husband. We're together for twenty
nine years since we were eighteen, we got married, and
we never have a honeymoon. So we go into Mexico
next week.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Wait, so after twenty nine years, you guys have never
had a honeymoon.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
Yeah, that's happening next week.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
That is so cool, right, Well, congratulations, that's a very.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Well deserved What do we call this a honeymoon?
Speaker 1 (11:05):
I think we still can't even though it's twenty nine
years later, it counts well deserved.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
I know.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
We'll have a good time.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Yeah, I have a good trip.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Thank you. Bye bye, Okay, bye bye.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
This is something Carolyn that I think my wife and
I need to be looking at because we twenty years
ago never had a honeymoon. We still haven't gone on
a honeymoon.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Do you guys talk about ever doing a honeymoon? Like,
do you have that discussion like we should do that?
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Well, this is our twentieth year anniversary year, so we
talked about doing something this year. We just have got
too busy.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Well, I mean, you have kids and jobs. I could
see though. So I that's why I love that Sylvia
and her husband are making time to do it. They've
made it a priority and they're doing it. I hope
you and Randy get to do this.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
We'll get there, hopefully, fingers crossed.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
All right, if you have a brighter side for us.
We are at eight seven seven nine eight one oh
nine eight one and.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Coming up this morning at seven twenty five. Carol, I
need to share an experience as a warning to everybody
out there to listen to your spouse. Oh no, what
you do, I'll tell you. Oh seven five Here on
the Morning Breeze.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
It's music from Billie Joel. It's seven twenty six. Good morning,
It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and core.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
So, Carolyn, as you heard us talking just moments ago,
my wife and I celebrated our twentieth wedding anniversary. Yes
this year, Yes, it's been a wonderful twenty years, two
great kids, a lot of dogs along the way. But
in those twenty years it's been dotted with spectacular failures.
And by that I mean I pulled a court and
(12:42):
did something that I shouldn't have done.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
What did you do?
Speaker 2 (12:45):
So not too long ago, in fact, last week, my
wife decided that she wanted to clean one of the
rugs in the house because, as I mentioned, we have dogs.
Dogs have accidents, and so she's like, we got to
get this rug cleaned. It smells a little bit, so
we will always doing some spot cleaning on it. But
she's like, no, I'm gonna take it out on the
balcony out on the deck and really clean it. Let
(13:06):
it air dry. So that's what we did Saturday afternoon,
past weekend. She's like, hey, it's dry, let's bring that in.
And I was I wasn't feeling it at the time.
I let's let it air. I dry just a little longer.
We'll bring it in tomorrow morning.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Well, you remember what happened Saturday night. Unexpectedly here in
the bay, it rained. It rained. That rain came in early.
It was it was supposed to come in Sunday.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
It rained on the rug.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Rained on this freshly cleaned rug. Oh no, what did
she say? She's just like, she didn't really say anything.
I just got the look like that.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Okay, I know, and I love that. She was like,
you know, bring it in, and I'm.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Like, I'm not really feeling it. Let's I think we
were just sitting down to watch some TV, and let's
just watch some TV. We can bring the ring rugging later.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Oh, biggie, Yeah, that's one hundred percent pulling a court. Yeah,
that is absolutely the perfect definition of pulling a cord.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Itu is the only reason why we didn't do it.
Sounds just kind of lazy.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
What are you gonna do next time? Randy says, Hey.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Court, I'm gonna do everything she says from here on out.
I'm just gonna hop to it and do it for
a week. For a week.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah, Oh that is funny, Randy. I feel for you.
That's total Randy and Court story. Oh that's great. We're
at eight seven, seven, nine, eight ninety one. By the way,
have you ever done something like this where your significant
other has said, hey, do this and you think you
know better and then you wind up like Court basically
I don't know how else to put it. That's how
(14:46):
it works out. Have you pulled a court in your life?
Tell us you can send us a message our iHeart
radio app a great way to send us a message
when it's convenient for you. Just speak into that microphone
button there next to the play button and we'll get
that message. We get them right away here in the studio.
We love getting those messages, and.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Please do you can send us a message about this
or anything you'd like to also stick around because coming
up this morning at eight twenty another chance to win
tickets to the World of Hans Zimmer coming to the
Oakland Arena in October.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Oh my gosh, Hans Zimmer has done. He has composed
the score for so many movies. We are talking movies
like The Creator, The Unforgivable, He's done, The Lion King.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Pors to the Caribbean. Yes, the most recent James Bond movie,
No Time to Die.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Oh yeah, top Gun Maverick. I mean it's a long list.
So you're going to be able to go to the
coliseum and check that out, and you're the Oakland Arena
and you're gonna love it. So be here at a
twenty for your chance to win those tickets on the Breeze.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
It's the morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Such a fan. I think yesterday at this very time,
we both came on the air talking at the same time.
That's because Court pays attention and I don't. I was
over end of story.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
I was over here dancing, and I think you got
worried that I wasn't ready to go.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
I was singing over here and completely forgot that we
had discussed who was going to go on the air first. Anyway, Hi, Hey,
it's the Morty Breeze Carolyn in Court eight see eight ten?
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Is the time?
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Should we just leave?
Speaker 2 (16:15):
We probably should? Is it Friday yet?
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Court?
Speaker 1 (16:18):
You you shop online a bit, right, Like you just
ordered a hat online?
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Okay, I've purchased shoes online. I do it. I don't
always like it because when you get the actual item
in front of you, it doesn't always look the way
it looked online.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
It's tricky, right, Yeah, if you went into the store
pick something out, you would obviously see the fit, the color,
all the Dame. I'm glad you mentioned that, because I
just read this a couple of days ago. What do
you think the most common color is when it comes
to returning clothing online, there is a color more than any.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Color it gets returned the most gets returned. I like,
I want to say, like a color like orange or
red or blue, but I think it's going to be
something like black, because black black. Actually there's different shades
of black. And sometimes you get something that's black and
it's like, no, that's not the right color of black.
Is it black?
Speaker 1 (17:14):
No, you did mention the color though it's red red.
A lot of times the red in a color on
a clothing is not the actual color that you get.
So many different shades of red. There's like a cherry
red and a bright red and like darker reds.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
And the image you see online it was taken with
a camera most likely, and then.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Point there's a good start, you know. Sometimes sometimes it
could just be a rendering or a kid drew it. Yeah, sure, yes, yeah,
that's where I knew my shopping where they hired the
five year old in the family to draw pictures of
the items to draw top. Yeah, that tracks, but I
can I can totally understand that because what I wish
because colors all have.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Like a code, like there's a color code on them.
You can go in and if they can just put
that in and then you can verify it. Oh, you've
already lost me. That's too much work. I look at
the picture and I'm like, that's a I love it,
beautiful red.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
I'll get that. So yeah, they say red is the
most common color when it comes to returning clothing. Interesting,
but here's what they're saying you should do. It's really
important when you're ordering a piece of red clothing online,
read the reviews because you want to see what people
have said. Like if they say, hey, I got this color,
I got this shirt and I ordered red and it
doesn't look like the red that I'm looking at in
(18:29):
this picture. Yeah, so they say when it comes to red,
read the reviews. Okay, so now you know I don't.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Buy a lot of red things. So I like that.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
I don't really see you're wearing a lot of red.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
I'm a redhead. So I'm like, I got that covered,
got that, you got that right, good night. So I
will not be turning anything red anytime.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Since we're at eight seven seven nine one, nine eight one,
we've been getting a lot of talkbacks from you, and
we love these. Just know when you send a talkback
on our iHeartRadio app about anything. It doesn't even have
to be during the show, so it could be in
the middle of the day. All of a sudden, you think,
Carolyn Court, you're talking about the red clothing I just saw.
Blah blah bla blah. That message comes to us right
(19:07):
away here in the studio. You can send it any
time of day and.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Please do and if anything pops into your head any
time of day, yeah, or night, middle of the night.
Will take those as well. So no, those are my
topack feature. Yeah, hey, coming up in just a few minutes,
