The Morning Breeze, This Morning Breeze on Demand. It's Jason
Moraz and it is six oh eight. Good morning. It
is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord. It is
May twelfth, twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Welcome to your Monday.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Welcome to your Monday. By the way, it is raining
in the Bay Area. If you haven't left the house yet.
In a lot of spots in the Bay Area, the
rain is coming down, so just be careful on the roads.
It's weird to go from what felt like ninety degrees
it's to a rain, but this is it this morning.
It's clearing out and then we're going to hit a
hot spell.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
It feels like that because I was looking at my
weather app before I walked into work this morning, and
the rain was scheduled to come intil like the seven
or eight o'clock hour.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
I saw the same thing core and on.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
My walkie in and I started to get some drip
drops on me. What is this, tomfooury?
Speaker 1 (00:51):
I know, I thought, I'm going to clear taking the
dog out for a walk this morning by a mile
if it's not going to come intil seven or eight.
And guess what, I opened the door and went, what
is this? So you said though that this is it,
though it should clear out by this afternoon. I like
this afternoon. And then as we make our way throughout
the week, it's going to get warmer every day. So
we're in for a warm.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Star great because the Giants are back in town tonight and.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
And the Warriors. It's going to be a big night
in the city. Speaking of cities, so over the weekend
Mother's Day, we hope you all had a great Mother's Day.
I went to the city of Larkspur on Saturday in
the North Bay to meet my friend Kira for lunch.
The traffic in the Bay area this weekend, I don't
(01:33):
know if it was that the weather was nice, if
it was Mother's Day weekend, I don't know, But that
traffic on the Richmond sandrafel Bridge on Saturday afternoon, if
you were in that backup, I was there with you,
and I heard it was bad every day.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
I'm gonna go with all of the above. Yeah. I
was actually talking to a an uber driver who picked
up somebody from the Warriors game on Saturday night, mm hmm,
and he says it took him an hour, just an
hour to get less than a mile to oh my
gosh to eighty to hop on the freeway, and he
says it just took him forever.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
And then he said it was bad everywhere he drove
as an Uber driver all weekend long.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
It was so bad this weekend.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I did very little driving. So I, well, I feel
pretty good about myself.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Yeah, no, you should, because yesterday, after my Saturday experience
in traffic, yesterday, I'm like, I'm not my car is
not leaving the garage. Like I stayed home all day
yesterday and just walked everywhere and went. So we hope
you had a good weekend. Welcome back to the week.
We were at eight seven seven nine oh nine eight one.
We've got the morning Breeze brain tease that's coming up
(02:34):
at six twenty five this morning.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
All right, the average age of people who do this
on the weekend is getting younger and younger.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Younger as so this used to be an older person thing.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Okay, there's a lot of clues that I put into
these questions. So you got the average age of people
who do this on the weekend, so it's something you
might do weekend. He's getting younger and younger, so yeah,
to your point. Is this something that older people do
and now younger people are doing it and it happens
on weekends?
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Okay? Eight, okay, I don't want to guess it because
if I get it, I'm gonna ruin it for everybuddy.
All right, eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. We'll play the brain teas at six twenty five.
Here Earthluise, it's Christina Perry at six twenty six. Good morning,
Happy Monday too. You Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
(03:26):
We're gonna jump right into it. The Morning Breeze brain Tease,
chance to see how awake you are on a Monday morning,
sponsored by My Council Plumbing. You're in clean hands with
my Council Plumbing. Visit them at mc plumbing dot com.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
The average age of people who do this on the
weekend is getting younger and younger.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
All right, we're at eight seven seven nine, eight one
oh nine eight one. Going to John and Pleasant Hill. First.
What do you think the answer is?
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Hi?
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Can walking along the beach? That makes them too young?
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Is hiking or walking on the beach? Is that an
older person's thing to do?
Speaker 4 (04:04):
For me?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
I want to say it's a younger person thing. But
then when I think about the people that I see
walking on the beach, it is always older older. Yeah,
I don't think this one is defined. Actually I could
see it being Well, is this the answer? No, it's
not the answer. Okay, all right, John, Well, thank you
for calling and for playing along. Thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
John's have a good day you too.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Bye, John, thank you.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Bye bye.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Good morning Pam, listening to us on our iHeart radio
app in Missouri. What do you think the answer is?
Speaker 4 (04:34):
I'm going to go for fishing?
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Fishing.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I used to go fishing with my grandpa. That was
the mom but I but I stopped fishing in my
mid teens and I haven't been fishing since.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
The worst day fishing is better than any day.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
At work, Well said Pam. Is that the answer?
Speaker 2 (04:51):
That is not the answer. The answer we're looking for
the average age of people who go antiquing on the
weekend is getting younger and younger.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Antique Okay, The kids these days, they do love the
good bargains. They're in the thrift shops, right, your girls
shop in like thrift shops.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Oh, they love, they love going thrifting. They call it thrifting.
I don't know if that's the same as antiquing. I
don't even know. Antiquing is looking at old furniture.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Well, lots of things, right, there's lots of things. My
aunt and uncle are do antiquing for a living their jaw.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Oh well, yeah, and you find.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Some good treasures. Those blue colored Mason jars there worth
a couple of thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Oh, look at this pro tip.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
I got to keep an eye out for that.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Pam. I know you're listening to us on the Appa Missouri,
but if you're ever to come out here, Nile's Canyon
in the Fremont area has some great antiquing. And anybody
in the Bay area listening that's never been on a weekend,
it's a great spot to go.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Good to know.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, I my son and family every year. But it's
more southern California.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Well, you're down south a little bit.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
One day.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
We'll get you up here, Pam, Yep, we sure will. Okay,
all right, Pam, make it a good day, all right,
thank you?
Speaker 3 (06:01):
I will you too, Okay.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Thank It's the morning Breeze brain Tease, and we do
it every weekday morning six twenty five here on the
morning breeze coming up at six forty this morning. I
have a warning not only for you, Court, but for
all of our listeners. I know this is something that
you do, yeah, and I want to tell you what
you're doing. You should not be doing.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Oh no, I'm doing something wrong.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Yes, all right, And I know there's a handful of
our listeners that are probably doing this along with you.
So we'll tell you what this is. It's very important.
It's coming up at six forty here on the breeze.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Still be great at six forty four here on ninety
eight point one the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
You've got the morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. I
mentioned this a few minutes ago. Court. I know you
are guilty of this. When you get those texts on
your phone that are from scammers that are kind of tricky,
that are like, hey, how are you doing today? Or
are you free Saturday for dinner? Or it was great
seeing you last night. You have a tendency to respond
(06:59):
to those texts to me with a scam.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
I like to mess with the scammers. Yes, give them
a little taste of their own medicine.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Okay, Well, they are saying you should never respond to
those scam texts, even if you know it's a scam,
don't do it right. Here's why they say, the best
thing you could do is ignore them. By responding, you
are making it worse because when you respond, it's validating
(07:25):
that it's your number. Okay, there's a risk of phishing,
there's an increased risk of identity theft, plus the emotional
and physical distress from all this. Okay, so they're saying,
do not do it. Interesting of course the financial loss
risk as well by engaging with the scammer. The phishing
part is, you know, the one that I've seen a
(07:47):
trend on lately is you get a text from somebody
or you know whatever saying that you owe some money
for a like a bill bill of some sort.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
And there's a link. Yes see, you accidentally click into
that and that's all they need.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
That's so crazy.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
So I have never I never click into those. But sometimes,
you know, if if I believe it to be an
errant text or a scammer, I'll I'll talk with them
a little bit.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Yeah see, you're not supposed to do that because that
confirms that, yes, that it's you, this is me, this
is my face. It's like they've got you on the
line fishing boom. They are really it is.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
I will say this if they said hey Court blah
blah blah blah blah, and I don't know who they are,
I don't typically won't reply to those, okay. Actually sometimes
I'll be like new phone, who.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Dis Oh do you say it like that? Who doesn't?
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Every single time?
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Twenty two percent of the scams overall are via text,
So just know that.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
All right.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
So here's what you're supposed to do. A ignore the message,
all right, don't write back, b block the sender okay,
you don't want them to write to you again, and
then report the scam to the FTC. Now you're asking
a little much. Who has that kind of time?
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Who's got that time?
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Yeah? Okay, so ignore block and if you have the
time report yep. So now you know, don't mess with
the scammers when they text you. We're at eight seven
seven nine eight one oh nine eight when you can
always send us a messager. iHeartRadio app use that talkback microphone.
A lot of people do that, and we love getting
your messages on the way.
Speaker 2 (09:11):

I'm gonna go on a cruise with my mom in
October nice and I upgraded our room so like a balcony.
So it's gonna cost me a little extra that she
didn't know about that.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Oh how fun. Well, you do realize you're on the radio, So.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Okay, she doesn't to the radio.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Well, that upsets me a little bit. I'm also glad
we're not going to spoil the surprise.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Right, So where are you going on your cruise?
Speaker 3 (10:34):
We are going to Vancouver.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
And how long are you going on your cruise for?
Speaker 3 (10:38):
It's a seven day cruise.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Have you been on a cruise before?
Speaker 3 (10:41):
This is my first cruise, and so my mom's first cruise.
I'm super excited. And my godmother's climbing from Idaho to
meet up there.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
That's gonna be great.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
This is gonna be fantastic.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
I'm telling you this. You are, and I mean this
in a good way. You are spoiling every future cruise
because when you go on a cruise and you get
that balcony, you can't do anything else. You just you
have to always get that balcony because it's just spectacular
to be able to step out of your state room
out onto the balcony and just enjoy the views. At sea.
It's awesome.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
I actually lost a lot of weight and I told
her when I lose the weight, we have to go
on a cruise and all this is our moment.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
That's so neat. You're such a good daughter to do
that for your mom too. How special?
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Yeah, she's special.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
She Well, congratulations to you on losing all that weight, Justina,
And we hope you have a great time on the cruise.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Thank you very much. And I follow you guys on
my Facebook page, you guys on my face. I hope
you guys have a great morning.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
You too, enjoy the rest of your walk.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Okay, bye bye. Doesn't a cruise sound great right now
with the rain outside?
Speaker 2 (11:50):
It really does.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
It's one of the easiest vacations you could.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Ever do because you don't have to do anything right.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
I've done a few cruises, and some of my favorite
are cruises I've done with both of my parents for
their wedding anniversaries. This is so neat. There's something for everybody,
all right.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
We're at eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. If you have a brighter side from us,
we want to hear from you.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
And coming up this morning. At eight fifty, we're going

to ask us anything you've got questions. We've got answers. Yes,
we do this every weekday morning right around seven twenty five,
(12:40):
a chance for you to call us and ask us
literally anything. It could be about things happening in the news,
right it could be. We've had a lot of people
lately calling and asking about things behind the scenes with
our show, which we're always happy to answer. So whatever
the case may be, we'll take all of your questions.
Eight seven seven nine, eight one oh one, So rich
(13:02):
and pleasant Hill. You ride horses like for fun as
a hobby, and you're wondering if we ride horses or
have ever ridden.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
I noticed a lot of folks and I tell them me,
I'm gonna go ride aget a horse they get and
then how do you do that? Aren't you afraid of them?
I said, no, you know, I mean as long as
you know they know that you don't have any spirit,
you know that you're good, you know. I mean they're
big animals. Yeah, but you just got to be on
your wit. I mean, I think I've ever been in horses. Remember,
you're in control.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Not them. You grew up around horses, right, Carolyn.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
I grew up riding my My parents used to compete
in horse shows, so I grew up there you go.
My parents rode in English saddle, and then I grew
up taking lessons on a Western saddle, so I would
ride out in Clayton before it was like the town
that it is, that used to have a lot of
trails for riding horses.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
So there you go, that's what I did.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Uh Yeah, what about you, Court, I grew up around
horses as well. I it doesn't sound like nearly as
much as you two, but I think being around them
gives you kind of that edge because you realize they
are a domesticated animal.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
So long as you are the one in charge, they
know it. When you show that you're a little timid
towards them. They pick up on that as well.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Yeah, but anyway, I'll let you guys go. I know
you guys are busy, but you guys make my day, okay,
So I do enjoy driving to the gym when I
hear you guys, So I don't stop doing with it.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Doing you guys ask us anything? We do it every
weekday morning It's said seven twenty five, and it could
literally be anything.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Yeah, And you can get those questions to us a
couple of different ways. You can call us eight seven
seven nine eight one nine eight one, or you can
use the talkback feature on our free iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
A lot of people have chosen to do that, which
we love. You got thirty seconds to record a message, yeah,
at your convenience, and we get those messages instantly here
in the studio and a lot of times you'll hear
yourself right on the air here on the Breeze Great way.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
If you ever wanted to be a radio star, yes,
make it happen.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
We will make that happen for you. Coming up Friday morning,
just after seven o'clock, we will be announcing this week's
Morning Breeze Person of the Week. But we cannot do
that without your help.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
It's a celebration of good people in the Bay Area
who were doing good things but oftentimes not being recognized
for those things.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Yeah, you've got four days now to think about who
that person is in your life that's always going above
and me on, always doing good things for other people.
We want to recognize them.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
So think about those people in your life and make
that nomination today on our website ninety eight Onethebreeze dot com,
it's Alicia Keys at eighth nine. Here on ninety eight
point one The Breeze. It's The Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Court.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
So Court, I it's mentioned way earlier in the show
today that over the weekend, I met a friend of
mine for lunch. We were in lark Spur. We went
to a restaurant that I've never been to, and so
I thought, well, it's like mid afternoon, I'm going to
eat fairly light, Okay, I'm gonna get shrimp tacos.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Oh. So this was like a Mexican place, yes, okay.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yes, And I assumed that because the tacos were sold individually,
I thought they would be like the small street tortillas,
you know, those street tacos.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
It was small taco, yes.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
And I thought, usually when there's a street taco or
a street tortilla involved, I'll get like three because there's
not that much meat in them. And so I was like,
I'm gonna eat light. Yeah, I'll have three. And then
I thought I won't have to eat again the rest
of the day. This will be perfect, so I'll really
pack them in. So they bring the order to the
(16:21):
table and it's one taco per plate. It is safe
to say that. There were three plates in front of me,
and the tacos were huge. They were not they were
not sett tortillas. Yeah, so I look at these. My
friend Kira gets Juavos Francherro's and she gets one plate
(16:45):
and I have three plates. And the waiter kind of
laughed as he put them down, and the people next
to us are looking like this woman just ordered three meals.
So I did what any normal person would do. Yeah,
what happened to these tacos? I ate them all three.
I'm a food athlete. What can I say? Challenge accepted
(17:06):
before I ate them, though, I said out loud, this
is embarrassing. I said to the waiter. Oh, I'll put
these here at the empty seats for my friends that
are about to show up, and I spread they tried,
you tried to cover, yes, and then I would eat
a taco off the plate, finish it, and then I
would just put that empty plate in one of the
in front of one of the empty seats for my
(17:27):
other friends that were going to show up. So it
looks like somebody ate them and left.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Did these large tacos because again these were not street tacos,
were not They also come with the side of rice
and beans.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
No, oh wow, I know I was disappointed, but I
had the shrimp sweats after because I ate so much shrimp.
They were great tacos. But lesson learned. If you go
to that Mexican restaurant in Larkspur right off whatever San
Quentin Boulevard or whatever that is, just you don't need
three big tacos. It's a lot of shrimp.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Yeah, all right, good to know.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
No, I mean, what would you have done if they
put three plates in front of you? Would you have written,
I'm kind of well, I would have done exactly what
you did, right, Yeah, And then like the opportunity that
you have to put two tacos on one plate.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
But I also I'm kind of surprised they didn't say anything.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Well, that's a great point. I thought about this after
as I was thinking about on the way home, sweating profusely.
I thought they if he had said, that's a lot
of food, right then I'd be mad, Okay, But then
he didn't say anything, and I was like, why didn't
he say anything? So exactly, it's a catch twenty two
for them. So he did the right thing by not
(18:34):
saying anything. A lot oh so shrimp tacos, it was
a lot. Yeah, we're at eight seven seven nine eight one.
Send us a talkback by the way, anytime with our
iHeartRadio app and that talkback mic.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Super easy way for you to send any message to
us here in the studio, and we love to get
those stick around because coming up later this hour, as
you begin your workday on this Monday, we're gonna give
you ninety eight minutes of not stop commercial free, relaxing favorites.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
The rain is falling outside here and there in the
Bay Area. You're starting your week. You don't want to
leave the house. This is something to look forward to.
You just ate too many tacos. Oh you got the
shrimp sweats already on a Monday morning. It could happen
somebody's got them, but we will be commercial free. We'll
do that at eight fifty Here on the Breeze, Carolyn
and Cord on the Morning Breeze. If you missed it
(19:22):
last night, Delilah, who of course is on tonight eight
o'clock Love Songs and Dedications. Right she was on NBC News.
It was so fun to see her on TV.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
And what's great about Delilah is young people are discovering
her on TikTok.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
She talked about that last night. It's like I opened
up this portal to a whole new world and all
these people that are like, oh my gosh, my mom
listened to you, my grandma listens to you.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
And if you missed it last night on television, we've
got to post it on our Facebook page. Just search
at ninety eight one. Debrie
