Speaker 1 (00:21):
Okay, our question again.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
At least thirty five percent of school districts in the
United States do not have this.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
And I asked you a couple of minutes ago, is
this something that they used to have?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Yeah, they did, and you would think they would still
it's it's a pretty important thing. I've such a good clue. Okay,
eight seven seven one nine eight one. Reuben and Alameda,
good morning.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
What is your guess?
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Art class?
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Art class?
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Art class? Because a bunch of programs and then let's
put the finances of art.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
So normally the first.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
One to go, The biggest one for me that went
away that I still can't get over is driver's ed
Oh rights, Yeah, that class was the jam. Remember, is
it our class.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
It is not our class. Great guess all.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Right, Ruben, Hey, you're great. Hope you have a good day.
I thank you, all right, take care bye. Good morning,
Chuck in Pleasant Hill, what do you think the brain
tees answer is today?
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Nurse on station?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Nurse on station?
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Oh my gosh. Remember that was a staple growing up,
that you had a school nurse.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
We didn't have one, but I believe there were district
nurses that would kind of float around and train the
secretaries because our secretaries were were oh they were your nurses,
their nurses. But in my daughter's school districts there was
always kind of a nurse on duty. Solid guest, Chuck,
but not the correct answer. But you are really close
in the in the right mindset. Okay, thirty five percent
(01:50):
of school districts in America do not have librarians.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Oh you believe it. That makes me sad, Chuck. Did
you guys have a library when you were in school.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Yeah, as a matter of fact, we had a library
in both grade school and high school because that's where
we didn't have we didn't I mean, we had the
Britannica Encyclopedia, but that's where you went to.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Do your homework exactly, and there was always a librarian
on staff, missus Newman.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Oh really she was mine.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
She must have been good that you remember her name.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Oh she was the best.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Well, Chack, thank you for calling, Thanks for listening. Always,
we invite you to play the Morning Breeze brain teas

good and great people in your life, because we're always

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Oh yes, who is this person in your life that
you feel like you're always seeing them do good things
for others or maybe they're doing good things for you
and this is an opportunity for you to give back
to them.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, we name them the Morning Breeze Person of the
Week every Friday, shortly after seven o'clock. We also award
them brunch for two on the Bay courtesy of City Cruises.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yes, so get your nominations in at ninety eight one
the Breeze dot com atrees it's Madonna at six forty.
Good morning, It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Core.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
All Right, so Carolyn, as I met mentioned just a
minute ago. I'm curious to know what you would have
done in this situation. Recently, at a Giants game, I
was standing in line for a crab sandwich, as you do,
that's what you do when you go to a Giants game.
As I was standing there, a guy to the to
my side, kind of behind me, taps my shoulder and
I turned towards him, and I could instantly tell in
(03:31):
his face, oh, he didn't mean to tap my shoulder.
His face kind of went blank, and he just kind
of stared at me.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Oh my sish yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
And then finally he goes, hey, man, I really I
really like your hat. So I am wearing the most
stereotypical Giants hat, like the basic black hat with the
with the orange, the orange. Yeah. And I'm like this hat.
And he's like, yeah, that's a great hat.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Man. So he obviously thought I was somebody else and
then tried to just keep going instead of just cutting
himself off and saying I'm so sorry, I thought you're
someone else. Now he's like, oh, so so he just
sat there.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
I just let him talk for a little while. Oh gosh,
and and I could you know, I could tell you
and had probably had a little too much to drink
as well that day. Okay, so I finally finally said him,
Hey you thought I was somebody else?
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Did you said that?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
He's like, he's like, you know, yeah, man, I did.
And then he says, and I've had too much to drink.
Oh I love this guy. This guy sounds great. Yeah, no,
he's really great. But he was. Then he's just like,
thanks for making me feel good about myself because I
was really embarrassed.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Oh now he's going on to.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yeah, you didn't have too much to drink. But it
just made me think, like just like it was just
funny for him to have that realization and me realized
he was having that realization of tapping the shoulder of
the wrong guy.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Yeah, I think you handled it fine. I mean I
love that interaction. It's fun. It's very re. I like,
I wouldn't have changed a thing in that, all right,
would you have if you look back on this situation,
would you've done it differently?
Speaker 2 (05:06):
I could have just not. I just kind of just
went with the whole hat thing and yeah, let them
ramble on. But like we saw each other a couple
of times after that incident, we just kind of had this,
this knowing look at.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Each other's like, Hey, because the hack guy he really
like this hat.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
I'm going to buy you one of these hats.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
That pork I want a day. What if he even
remember that? I'm sure he does not, Probably not, not
at all. That's a great story. I don't know how
would you have handled that any any differently? Eight seven
seven nine eight one nine eight one. Or send us
a talkback with our iHeartRadio app. We get those messages
instantly and the talkback mic is super easy to use.
Speaker 2 (05:44):

one is how you reach us?
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Good morning, Burton, San Francisco. What's your brighter side?
Speaker 4 (06:53):
My brighter side is today it'll be my last official
day at work. Been an engineer for fifty three years
with the same company.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
WHOA and you are retiring?
Speaker 4 (07:06):
I am retiring?
Speaker 2 (07:07):
What type of engineering?
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Electrical?
Speaker 1 (07:10):
That is amazing? Is How do you feel or do
you even know how you feel yet?
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Mixed emotions? Yeah, I mean it's been a part of
me for almost as long as I can remember. It's
just it's time.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
It's time, and you're going to have all this time
on your hands now, which is so great.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Yeah. Then I can work on my car and do
stuff that I enjoy doing.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Bert, we are so excited for you.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Fifty three years at the same place. Yeah, it doesn't
happen too much anymore.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
No, And it's I've told many people that it takes
you five to ten years to really noble the job,
and once you know what you better stay there. And
it's good, good for the company and good for you.
But it seems like a lot of people have to
chase the dollar and go go someplace else, and I
think that's a shame.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
That's been the biggest trends lately is if you're not
so and jobs every five to six years. Yeah, they
say you're leaving money on the table, but I just
I've never been comfortable with that. I feel like I've
always been kind of a company man, so.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
I guess I have the same mentality. I tell the guys,
you know, just learn your job and do it well
and then stay with it. Now, really it works out.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Hi, Bert, appreciate your coming.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
Okay, thanks so much. Say you guys make my mornings.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
That's very kind. Well, thanks again and congratulations. Bert but
that's going to be me when I retire from the
Breeze A million years.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Fifty three years at the Breeze, No, impossible. That's the
part I can't get over is fifty three years at
the same place, the memories that have to be there.
It's congratulations, it's your life.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
When you've been there for fifty three years, you've been
here for two years now, don't you feel like this
is your life?
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Oh yeah, one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yeah, So imagine him at fifty three. That's crazy. But
we're happy for you. Bert. So if you've got a
brighter side for us eight seven seven nine, eight one
nine and.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Coming up this morning at eight fifty, we're gonna help
you out as you start your workday with ninety eight
minutes of NonStop, commercial free, relaxing favorites.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
I just took a peak court. We've got mister mister
Oh wow, mister mister from the eighties. Yes, we have
music from Pink coming up, John Waite, Rock Set Reo Speedwagon.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
It's action packed.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
I know. We'll go commercial free at eight fifty on
the Breeze.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
It's the Commodore is at seven twenty five here on
ninety eight point one the Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Court and it is time now to
ask us anything. Think of reddit Ama, which stands for
ask Me Anything. Oh, but this is on the radio.
Ask us anything.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
That's a great comparison. Actually, yeah, you.
Speaker 2 (09:40):

via the talkback feature. Just click that red microphone button.
Ask whatever question you're gonna ask. We'll get it here
in the studio, or you can call us eight seven
seven nine eight one, nine eight one.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
And we've got a talk back for today to ask
us anything.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Hi, I'd love to know how your audition process went
and how did you find each other and make such
a great pair together. I'm just really curious what that
was like. Thanks, have a wonderful day.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
I love this question, and I love this question because
I love telling this story. So a couple of years ago,
Jack Colep used to co host here on the Morning
Breeze and he retired, and so then became this search
for a new co host, and we did a national search.
We got over two hundred applicants, and you were I
(10:36):
think the last person to come in court. You were
certainly the last person I interviewed. Sure, so on your end,
what did it look like?
Speaker 2 (10:45):
So I was working in Portland, Oregon, and had kind
of decided that I wanted a change, and so I
was searching and a friend of mine working here in
the Bay area alerted me about the opening at the
Breeze and said, Hey, there's this really great radio station.
She said, I think you'd be really great at this job.
You should apply.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
YEP.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
So I did, and one day in January I was
asked to fly down to San Francisco and interview and
meet with you.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
I know. I remember we went and had coffee, and
Court is so sick of hearing this story, but I
love telling this story. We went and had coffee, and
I remember the moment that I left that coffee shop.
We were walking down the street together in San Francisco,
and I had this feeling come over me where I
was like, this is my guy, Like this is my partner,
and I like I still get teary eyed because it
(11:34):
was such a moment that I knew, without a doubt
you were my person. And I'm grateful every day that
I come into work that I get to work with you.
You're so fantastic, So thank you, what a great day
that was.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
You're fantastic, Thank you, Core. But it should be pointed
out there was no audition like we we never we
never sat down in a room together and pretended as
an audition to see how we would work together.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
The reason that didn't happen, Court is because I was
so sure you were the person that we didn't need
an audition for you, Like I just knew. I mean,
our conversation was so good, like what you hear on
the air is how we are off the air together. Sure, yeah,
I just knew. So that is a that was a
great ask us thank you. I don't know your name
(12:20):
because it was a talkback, but we appreciate your talkback.
And that what's great about ask us anything, like we
get into stuff that happens behind the scenes.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
Here.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
We could talk about things that are going on in
the world, like whatever you have a question about. That
is what this is all about. Ask us Anything. We
do it every weekday morning at this time. You can
send us a talkback or give us a call eight
seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
And coming up later this morning on the show eight fifty,
we're going to help you out as you start your workday,
whether you're maybe you're driving lift or Uber today.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Maybe you have a job interview, maybe you have a
job in a you need stress, some relaxing favorites to do,
hump you up to relax you going into the interview.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Right, So join us eight fifty ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial,
free relaxing favorites here on the Morning Breeze.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
It's Mariah Carey with Boys to Men. It is eight
oh seven, Good morning. It is the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court Court. Do you suffer from allergies at
all or does anybody in your family?
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Definitely you have it in the family. I will get
allergies when like pallen counts are just crazy.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Do you have them now?
Speaker 2 (13:25):
I have. I've been a little sniff year, sniff a year.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Okay it is now.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Yeah. So when the pollen counts or whatever it is
is super high, then I tell my eyes get scratchy, Yeah,
nose gets running.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
I've been having a heck of a time. I get
allergy shots and on the regular and I still it's
like that's when you know it's bad when you're still
getting allergies right on top of the shot. So if
you find that you've been sneezing more than usual, your
eyes are watering more than usual, or they're itching, there
is a reason they say that seasonal allergies right now
(14:00):
are at an all time high. They are at their peak. Like,
this is it so what you're experience. Plus we're seeing
all the pollen on the car, sure you could see
it in the air. Sometimes trees and grasses are big
right now. That's what's really causing allergies right now. So
if you are suffering, there's a good chance you're allergic
to trees or you're allergic to grasses or both.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yeah, I've never had been bad enough with my allergies
to feel like I needed to go to an allergist
and actually get tested to see what exactly is causing
the issues. But yeah, typically is like this time of
the year where just everything is out.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
It's crazy. Even Perk, my dog, she's scratching more looking
her pause.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
I'm just saying, I was actually just sitting there thinking,
I'm like, do I need to share my aleegro.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
With with Perk Perk, Maybe a better drill to take
the edge off her a little bit. Something that's a
separate conversation. But no, I talked to my doctor. I
had an appointment actually with my doctor at Allergy Anasthma
Medical Group of Walnut Creek, the best.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
And un maybe shortening the name a little bit, but.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
It's not my company.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Okay. Anyway, as you were.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
Saying, sure, they really appreciate the feedback to court, No,
I've been going there for years and my doctor there
said that we've got another three to four weeks with
allergies being this bad and these are her words, then
we'll be in the clear. So I'm like, okay, Tara,
does it help.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Because you know, yesterday we had that we knew the
rain was coming in, but it was a little more
rain yesterday than expected. It helps, that helps it away? Yeah, yeah,
but then what's going to happen now the rain's done?
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Everything's like so anyway, three to four or more weeks
and if you are sneezing, itchy eyes, watery eyes, all
that stuff right now, it is the grasses and the trees.
That's what's big right now.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
So the takeaway the takeaway here is hang in there,
hang in there.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Yes, welcome to doctor Johnson and doctor mccartial. At your service.
We're at eight seven seven nine eight one, nine eight one.
It's a talkback Tuesday. We are loving your talkbacks coming in.
Continue to send those using our iHeartRadio app that talkback
mic anytime.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Also coming up later this hour eight fifty, we're going
to give you ninety eight minutes of non stop, commercial free,
relaxing favor It's going to feel extra good on it Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
It is, it is. Yeah, We're commercial free at eight
fifty right here on the Breeze
