The Morning Breeze, Go Morning Breeze on demand.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
The car is with drive and it is six twenty.
Good morning, it is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
It's time for the Morning Breeze Brain Tease sponsor by
My Council Plumbing. You're in clean hands with My Council
Plumbing and you can see them online at mcplumbing dot com.
We love playing this with you every morning. It is
such a challenge for your mind early in the morning.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
That's why we do it.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
That was gonna say, that's why we do it. Eight
seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Here's today's clue. Although it's considered risky, seventy five percent
of us will do it at least once a month.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Such a huge number. All right, Adele and Millbray, Good morning.
What do you think The answer.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Is, skip a car payment, Skip a car payment.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
So much financial obligations, and then at the end of
the month when you try to get pay everything off,
it just seems like there's like just one bill that
you need to put a side to be able to
manage on gas.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Food.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Yes, that's a very smart guess. I love how you're
like thinking through that it's almost like the something has
to give theory.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Yeah, so you're thinking, what's it going to be? In
your case, it's a car payment.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yeah, and that is risky in that sense because there's
a financial you could get a financial penalty or whatever
the case may be. So I see why you're going
down that path.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Insurance, everything else you got to have.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah, wellll it sounds like you've put a lot of
thought into this. We've actually talked it through and it
sounds like this could be it.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
I know, but it's not. But we had a nice
time trying to work it out with you. We hope
you have a good day.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
You got it. Pat in el Cerrito, you're up. What
do you think the answer is?
Speaker 4 (01:46):
I want to say go to the gym, but that
isn't necessarily risky.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
It would be depending on the person.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, you should see me with a dumbbell. I'm not
I haven't been properly trained, so it's always a risk.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Is that the answer?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
That is not the answer? Pat, Here is the answer,
although considered risky by the experts, and right there on
the box, seventy five percent of us will put a
cotton swab in our ear again. Court writes these questions.
So I'm pleading the fifth on this. This is all court.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Hey, oh my goodness, Okay, he needs help.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Hey, look, you never know what might happen when you're
sticking that thing in your ear.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
But of all things, you Pat, you basically just said
what everybody's thinking. All right, So good.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Keep the music coming, Darling. I'm enjoying every minute.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Oh you're the best, Pat.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Thanks for calling in this morning. Have a good day.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Okay, bye bye.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
It's the Morning Breeze Brain Tease, and we do it
every weekday morning at six twenty here on the Morning Breeze.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Coming up again this morning on the show at eight twenty.
So there is a new show at the Golden Gate
Theater it Star. It's on June third. It is called
A Beautiful Noise, the Neil Diamond Musical about the life
of Neil Diamond and all of those hit songs that
he sings. So we're going to do the giveaway again
today at eight twenty on the show. I have a
(03:13):
feeling that if you're in the audience watching this thing,
you're singing the entire time. I was thinking the same thing.
I mean, think about the number of hits that Neil
Diamond has. If you are even remotely a fan, you
are going to love this show. It is getting the
best reviews. So be here at eight twenty your chance
to win those tickets on the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
The Breeze delby Gray at six point forty two. Here
on ninety eight point one The Breeze, It's the Morning
Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Court. Do you ever download an app onto your phone
and then you open the app and you get overwhelmed
because the app is so complicated or it's difficult to use?
Speaker 1 (03:50):
What ever? Happened all the time? Okay, like at least
once or twice a month, you, if not more, are
not alone.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Twenty five percent of us say we have closed a
mobile app immediately and just the past month alone because
it was too complicated, it was overwhelming, or it was
hard to use. Yeah, and so when this happens like
it's happened to me, I mean, this is a great company.
So I'm not knocking the company. It's just okay, here
(04:19):
comes there's one thing you know about me, Court, I'm
not that patient. Sure, So when I downloaded the Weimo app,
which is that those are the cars that drive themselves,
and I thought one night, oh, this will be great,
I'll use this. But I was a little bit of
a time crunch, right, So now I'm downloading this app
trying to get a ride, and I got so overwhelmed
(04:41):
by the app. Again, not the app's fault, probably my
fault that I just closed the whole thing. Now I
have the Weimo app on my phone. I've never even
used it.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I think sometimes the sign in process for a lot
of apps is what frustrates us, Yes, because you're you
have to go through and you have to sometimes sign
up for an account through all that, and you're like,
what am I doing here?
Speaker 2 (05:01):
That's setting your preferences.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Yeah, that's typically where I get frustrated. But I always
do the one more step than you. It sounds like
Carolyn as I always I go through and I delete
that from my phone immediately. Oh you take it off
your phone completely, because I'm hoping they're paying attention to
the number of people who download and then delete almost instantly.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
It's your way of sending them a secret message, like
you take them there, Yeah, fix your app? Yeah please? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah. There's there's other apps though that that I still use,
even though they get super complicated, like the Amazon app.
There's so much in the app really to go and
find certain things on the app itself. I get confused
by the app. Online no problem, like on my browser,
but the app it's like the Prime Video.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
And all these Yeah, it's hard to find. Totally get that.
So there you go. Twenty five percent of us say
we get overwhelmed by these apps. If you've done this
recently with an app, we'd love to hear from you
eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one, or
shoot us a message with our iHeart radio app that
Talkback Mike.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
And also, don't even get me started about my photoshop app. WHOA,
that's super frustrating.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Really, I feel like you use that a lot.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
I do, but man, is frustrating. I still haven't to
leave it. Hey, coming up this morning in eight twenty,
he would love to hook you up with some tickets
to see none other than a great music will come
into the Bay Area called A Beautiful Noise. It's the
Neil Diamond musical Oh my Gosh.

a chart busting, show stopping award winning American icon. He
sold over one hundred and twenty million albums. Neil Diamond did.
Of course he did, and this musical is getting the
best reviews. We are excited for the chance to send you.
(06:43):

or making you happy. You can also use a talk
that used the talkback feature on our free iHeartRadio app.

(07:22):
right Side is sponsored by shere Even Company, luxury time pieces,
find Designers and flawless Diamonds.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
As I mentioned a minute ago, I truly think this
is the best story you will hear all day. It's
only seven to ten in the morning. I can already
guarantee court this is the best thing you're going to hear.
So six year old girl named Mollie. She lives in Tennessee.
She was graduating from kindergarten. Her parents let her have
a kindergarten party, a graduation party. Okay, do kindergartens have
(07:50):
graduation parties?
Speaker 1 (07:51):
They do more and more.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yeah, I've never heard of this. Yes, but good for Molly.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
It's a trend, I think.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Okay, So she was told she can invite her friends.
Her mom says, who do you want to invite to
your graduation party? There was one extra special person who
made the invite. I'm gonna give you two guesses as
to who the six year old Molly invites to her
to kindergarten graduation party.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Is it her kindergarten teacher?
Speaker 4 (08:14):
I thought you.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Would guess that that's number one? No, not right.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Number two, somebody in her neighborhood that she has befriended
over the years.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
That's a good guess too. Nope, not Molly. Molly invited
her school bus driver, mister Don Don and mister Don
came to the party. So great isn't that so cool?
They snacked on cupcakes and gummy worms, grapes, hot dogs, strawberries.
It's a party I can get behind.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
That sounds pretty great.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Like if I threw a party, I think Molly and
I would have the same menu hot dogs and cupcakes
and grapes. I mean, kids have their moments right where
they test your patients. But then you hear about moments
like this where I want to invite my school bus driver,
mister Don and it's like, oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
I think we forget about these people in our kids'
lives that are like, have a huge impact on a
school day. That school bus driver is the first person
she sees in terms of part of the school process.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
I remember when we were growing up, we lived kind
of on a corner of a busy street by our
elementary school, and we befriended our crossing guard. Yeah, same thing,
and my mom became super tight with her, to the
point where when our crossing guard couldn't afford a car,
my mom organized a fundraiser to buy this crossing guard
(09:34):
a car. It was awesome. I mean, was it beat
up and ugly, yes, but it had four wheels and
it car engine worked. Yeah, no, it was the coolest moment.
So anyway, so happy for mister Dawn, Like what a
good soul he is too that he came to the party.
So there's your brighter side. You can reach us with
yours eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.
(09:54):
And like Court said, send us a message with our
iHeartRadio app. That talked back Mike.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Also a great opportunity for you to be thinking of
the people in your life. The mister downs and we,
in fact, we have awarded the Morning Breeze Person of
the Week to a crossing guard here in the Bay
Area before.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Oh like miss boyd Yes, yes, so we would love
to get your nominations. Tell us who that person is
in your life that's going above and beyond doing great
things for other people. We want to highlight them. We
do it every Friday morning, just after seven o'clock. So
get those nominations in at ninety eight one the Breeze
dot Com. It's seven twenty eight Sean Colvin and it's
(10:29):
the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord. It's time for
ask us anything. This is where you call us or
you send us a message with our iHeartRadio app. And
the talkback MIC, and you ask us anything about whatever
it is that comes to mind. You would like to
hear what our opinion is or our answer is of
that question.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Good morning to Michael in San Francisco. All right, ask
us anything.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
How many years have you been with thy eight?
Speaker 1 (10:54):
How many years have we been with the Breeze.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
So we launched this station back in April of twenty sixteen,
which is crazy to think about. And I came here
when the station started, So I was on another station
within our building and they moved me to this station.
So I've been here since day one, and I.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Came on board in May of twenty twenty three. It
seems like forever ago, but just over two years ago.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
Yeah, I was going to say so when I very
very first started driving in the morning, it was about
two and a half years ago. Like, I really hope
that you guys are at incredibly such a great mesh
and team every moment outside. You know, the time that
you were literally on air, it just doesn't seem like
(11:40):
something you can fake.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
I think you just hit the nail on the head. Michael. Yeah,
if we tried, if you were faking our relationship, you
would know, right, our listeners are incredibly smart. You guys
would pick up on that. Yeah, we have genuinely a
great relationship.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Yeah, I would say, what you hear on the radio
is what we are in real life. It's the same
thing that's good good news and bad news.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Well, I mean, I swear to God, I hear you
guys talking, and it's really similar to the relationship that
I have with my sister. Like you guys have like
a very sort of like a very family like almost
sibling relationship.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
But it will one I definitely heard that before from people.
If we sound like brother and sister. Carolyn is the
sister that I never had, even though I have a sister,
and Court you are the brother I never had, even
though I have three.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
I was actually my question to Court was specifically where
he came from. I'm like, they got him from the
court factory.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
With yeah, where there was a court factory, and I
was like, that's the court I want.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
That you want.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Seriously, I got so lucky finding him.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
They shut down the court factory though a long time ago,
as they should have. Right to answer your question, Michael,
I got my start in radio in Utah. That's where
I grew up and then moved to Portland, Oregon, when
it was there for over a decade, and then landed
here in the Bay Area.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
But that was a great question, Michael. We thank you
for caring enough to ask that for sure. All right,
have a good day.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
You have a wonderful morning, guys.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
You two Michael, and it's ask us anything again. You
can ask us anything. We do it every weekday morning,
six twenty five. Here on the Morning Breeze.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Coming up less than an hour from now at eight
twenty this morning, it's your chance to win tickets to
a beautiful noise, the Neil Diamond musical.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Yeah, it's coming to the Golden Gate Theater starting next week,
and we would love to send you courtesy of the
Morning Breeze.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Think of all the hits America Forever in blue jeans.
Sweet Caroline Cracklin, Rosie, you don't bring me flowers? Hello again,
September morn. I'm a fan.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
You are a fan.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
And if you're a fan, you're gonna love this. Eight
twenty this morning your chance to win those tickets on
the Breeze. It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord.
It is eight twelve. Good morning, So Carolyn.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
A couple of days ago, it was Memorial Day weekend,
and my wife and I were doing some traveling. And
when one travels, one tends to, you know, eat on
the road a little bit. So my wife and I
stopped into one of my favorite places. I don't need
to say the name of this restaurant, just tell you
that they have McDonald's. They have the best best, yeah,
(14:17):
best sandwiches and and mcgriddles and all sorts of stuff.
So we're going through the drive through and I get
up to pay, and the guy that you know, is
they're taking my card payment is also the guy taking
the order. They're multitasking. Typically you see this all the time.
So he has this little device. He's got the little
(14:39):
card reader, but instead of me handing my card to him,
he has this card reader on a stick that can
he kind of sticks out and kind of can reach,
you know, he basically puts it out towards me so
I can just scan my card.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Or is it almost like extending it so that it's
not close contact.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I think it might have came come out of the pandemic.
This is so bizarre. Okay, but here's the thing. He's
also taking the order for the person behind me. So
he's not even looking at me. So he's got his
arm extended with this stick with the with the credit
card reader on it. Yeah, he's not even looking at me.
I'm reaching out to try to get my card near it.
And we're like two like ships in the night, just
(15:18):
like you're.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Just like flailing trying to Like every.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Time every time I go to get my card into
the little slot, he moves it because he's not paying attention.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
I wonder if this guy is being instructed to do this,
or if he's trying to go above and beyond and
show his boss he can do two things once.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
And in the.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Meantime, your arm is just following the leader of where
his selfie stick thing is he's going.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
He's not paying attention to me. His arm's just kind
of waving there and I'm sit there. So eventually I
had to reach my other hand through the window grab
the selfie stick. Oh my god, so I should get
the card to read so I could pay for our order.
That is That was not McDonald's, by the way, was it.
There's no way was it was McDonald's.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
It was they do that there.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
They have the best breakfast I think that's no real story.
Not all McDonald's work this way, this particular one. Yeah,
this is kicked out what they had in the for
the little reader. Again, Clayton Road doesn't do that. And
I was just trying to tap it. I was just
trying to get it anybody hysterical kept on moving it
because he wasn't paying attention to me when I did
grab the the the selfie stick.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah, I love you.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Eventually realized what was going on.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
I love that you grabbed the selfie stick too. You
know that startled him because he's working on the car
behind and all of a sudden he's like, what is this?
I got a fish on the line. It's like having
a fish on the line.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
That's exactly what happened. To take matters into my own hands.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
That I mean, I kind of love that guy a
for effort, but he he needs to.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Hone his craft a little more a little bit, or
just stop with the selfie sticks and just take my card.
And it's a funny story though that's such an oh
Court like only what happened to use story? Absolutely we're
at eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.
You can always connect with us with our iHeartRadio app.
That hawkback, Mike.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
