The Morning Breeze, Morning Breeze on Demand. Good morning, Happy
Monday morning to you. It is the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Corn on this Sinko Dame Mio, May fifth five.
I might have margerita. Oh wow, you should? That was
words my mouth at six o seven am. You check myself.

(00:23):
You could have a margarita for lunch because for us,
we start so early, it's almost lunchtime. It's yeah, it's almost.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
It's like that's our lunch is actually our our lunch
is our breakfast. Our dinner is our lunch.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
So I have one for breakfast.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, well, okay, that's not really what I was saying. Okay,
all right, right, and I'm a margarita either way. Say
good day, Mayo, good morning. How was your weekend?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
It was good.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
I set out to have a chill, relaxing weekend and
I'm here to tell you I succeeded.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Good job. Did you watch lots of basketball? Watched lots
of basketball, checked in on the Giants games.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
I did a lot of uh, did some some nature walks.
Oh good, Corty by myself and with my wife.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
It was relaxing, was great. That's a great weekend. Yes,
Giants did well and took the series. From work all weekend. Yeah,
but it was fun. It was so beautiful at Oracle
Park and like, fans came out. We have forty one
thousand fans yesterday. Nice a sellout. Saturday and Sunday. It
was great. So yeah, good weekend. Congratulations to the Giants
there on the road. They're headed to Chicago for the

(01:26):
next few days. And the Warriors, how about Oh yeah,
those Warriors.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I was not I don't like Game sevens. I know
a lot of people think they're the best games ever,
but I don't like it.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
You know, the stress factor.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
It's just it's a winter win and move on, lose
and you go home. And that's what happened. And you know,
obviously the Warriors had a three to one lead in
this series at one point, but you know there's some
injuries and.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Yeah, so they went to Houston last night and took that.
Do they call it a series in basketball? Okay? They finished,
wrapped up the series and move on, go on to
the next round. So and that starts tonight tomorrow. Yeah,
what day is it? It's Monday. It's Monday. Yeah, I guess
the Timberwolves. But yeah, yeah, yeah, there's no there's no
rest between this thing. They it's crazy right up. Yeah,

(02:15):
So good good weekend for our Bay Area sports teams,
and we hope you had a great weekend. You can

at the Historic or Indo Theater at Starship featuring Mikey Thomas,

(02:36):
Mickey Thomas, Mickey Thomas. Yes, okay, hopefully Mickey's not listening
right now. Why don't I take it from here? Don't
you take it from here? You know Mickey Thomas from Starship. Yeah,
that's right. So the Arenda Theater gorgeous and I actually
when I saw that we had tickets to this, I
thought Starship at the Arenda Theater, Like, what a get

(02:57):
for our audience to be able to see. It's such
a great band and such a great theater. This is
gonna be amazing. So tickets are on sale now at
a Rindo movies dot com, but you can win them
from us. That's coming up at eight twenty this morning
on the Breeze and on the way it's six twenty five.
We've got the Morning Breeze brain Teas. Okay, they say
you spend as much as thirteen hours every year doing this.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Thirteen hours a year, thirteen hours a year doing this,
so it's it's a lot of hours, but in a
year is it's not really a lot.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I know that's not that much. Okay, let's see what
people think. Eight seven, seven, nine, eight one oh ninety
eight when that is how you reach us. Morning Breeze
brain Teas coming up six twenty five right here at
Earthdrees and she'er in six twenty five, and it is
the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Corn. Happy Monday morning,
Happy Sinco de Mayo. It is time for the Morning

(03:51):
Breeze brain Teas. It's sponsored by Mike Council Plumbing. You're
in clean hands with My Council Plumbing and you could
see them online at mc plumbing dot com. They say
you spend as much as thirteen hours every year doing this,
all right, eight seven, seven, nine, eight one nine eight
one is how you reach us. It's Michael and Hayward,
good morning. What do you think.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Chores sounds like, Michael, you need to be doing more chores.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
No, I like a week. Sounds like you need to
hire a house cleaner. I'm not mad at that guess
at all. It's a pretty good guests. I think I'm
about thirteen hours a year, Michael, full honesty here, I
hate cleaning. Good who loves it? Yeah, I mean we
appreciate it, but it's not the right answer, all right, Michael. Nice,

(04:37):
Try enjoy the rest of your day, and thanks for
playing along.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Robert in conquered, what's your guest for the brain.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Teas shopping for holidays? But I don't know.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Thirteen hours of you're doing this? Yeah, for the holiday.
That's a very good guess. How early do you start
shopping for the holidays, Robert? Do you start really early
and do a little bit at a time or do
you wait and do everything at the end.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Just before Thanks?

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah, that's good. I could see thirteen hours there, a
little bit here, a little bit there, It all adds up.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Yeah, I know for my family, my wife will spend
thirteen hours a day in the lead.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Up to the holidays doing the holiday shopping.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
So my wife excluded this. That could be an answer
a good answer.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Actually.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
The other thing is my family has hundreds.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Of Christmas light decorations.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
You know, we have to install them and that takes hours,
thirteen hours decorating for the holidays. I love that we're
talking about the holidays in such detail. In May never
too early, Robert, No, it's not. Is that the answer, Cord?
Is it decorating and shopping for the holidays? That is
not the answer. What is the answer to this one?

Speaker 2 (05:40):
They say? And who they are, I don't know. You
may spend thirteen hours every year waiting on hold?

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Oh wow, yeah, well yeah, actually I find myself on
hold on the internet trying to take care of the things.
I got stuck on hold waiting for a chat the
other day with DMV, which they were super helpful. No
knock on DMV. We got it all taken care of,
but I was holding for a while. I was able
to take the dog out, let her go potty, come
back in, sit down, wo eat something of course, right,

(06:11):
and then it worked out, but I was long hold.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
I was on hold with somebody for like two hours.
Then I realized that they had hung up. Oh really,
so who knows how long I was actually on hold?

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Oh? That's a brutal cord. Ye well, Robert, thank you
for playing. That was awesome.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Ye love talking to you guys.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
It's the Morning Breeze brain tees and we do it
every weekday morning, six twenty five here on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Coming up at six forty this morning. There was a
hobby that more and more women are into. And I
have to say, Court, when I read this, I thought
a me too. Yeah, well I want to be into this. Okay,
I'm not actually into it, but b I love this.
I cannot wait to talk about this. I wonder what

(06:53):
it is. Okay, we'll do it at six forty this
morning on the Breeze ninety eight point one the Breeze.
It's six for three. You've got the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court. By the way, if you are used
to hearing ask us anything every weekday morning, at this time,
we have moved that. Yeah, you will now hear that.
It's seven twenty five. Writing that down seven five, we
ask us any good one today? Yeah, that's come up

(07:16):
seven twenty five. Court. Is your wife Randy into classic cars?
By chance?

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (07:23):
No, she doesn't care. Do you know any women that
like classic cars are interested, or at least think they're cool.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
My daughters have like they'll see an old classic car
and they'll they'll be like, hey, that's pretty cool. But
nothing beyond just a reaction. Okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
There is a study that just came out recently that
says that women are into classic cars more and more. Like,
this is a trend that's on the rise, whether it
be collecting them driving them that's typically obviously been a
male dominated hobby. Yeah, but more and more women are
getting into collecting and driving classic cars. I love that.

(08:02):
When I was married the second time, my husband asking
my most obvious question, which I knew would come up,
so I just beat you to the punch. My ex
husband was really into classic cars, so we would go
to like the car shows, and so I sort of
became into it. I knew enough to know enough right
right for me, the sixty five Chevy SS is a

(08:26):
beautiful car. O sure, yeah and so, and I've always
loved like Volkswagen Beetles. So I love a classic, like
a well put together Volkswagen Beetles. So like, what about
for you when it comes to classic cars. Well, see,
I had a nineteen seventy three super Beetle. I know,
so I too.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
I'm a big fan of restored beetles. Yeah, I even
like rusty ones. I'm just I just think they're great
and when you see them out on the road's better.
But yeah, I want like a classic truck. My dad
and my grandpa both had like these mid sixties pickup trucks. Yeah,
they were just awesome and in fact, not too long ago,
my oldest daughter, Quinn, who is about to turn twenty,

(09:02):
she said when she gets older, she wants to get
a nineteen sixties or nineteen seven seventies era truck.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Wow am I? Oh why? I think just just the
simplicity of it is just attractive to her. See there
you go. She fits in perfectly with this study. Yeah,
I love that. So that was interesting. We wanted to
share that with you this morning. How about for you though,
is there a woman in your life that's really into
classic cars? Did you drive? When? Do you talk about them?

Speaker 3 (09:28):
All? Like?

Speaker 1 (09:28):
We'd love to hear from you eight seven seven nine
eighth nine eight one. And by the way, you can
always send us a talk back with our iHeartRadio app
real easy to do and coming.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Up this morning. If you didn't hear. We've got tickets
to see Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, happening this Friday at
the Iconic Arenda Theater.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Yeah, a great venue. I honestly have never seen a
show there. The Arenda Theater is amazing, but I've never
seen like a concert there. Yeah, so I think this
is really neat right in our backyard. So yeah, be
here at eight twenty for your chance to win those
gets here on the Breeze Cydey law forer It is
seven oh six. It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Court. If you've listened to the show for any

(10:08):
period of time, thank you number one and number two.
You know that we do The Brighter Side every weekday
morning at this time. Yeah, it's a.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Chance for you to share with us what is good
and happy happening in your life.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Yes, The Brighter Side sponsored by Shrieving Company, Luxury time Pieces,
Fine Designers and Flawless Diamonds.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Good morning to Bernadette in Fremont. What's going on this morning?

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Right now? I'm waiting for my grandson that they came
to school and he starts at eight thirty and then
I go to church. So every time it comes out,
I'm always late at the church.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
You take him to school every day every day? Is
so great? Do you love that that you get to
do that?

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
I have eight grandkids and I took all of them
to school when they were young, so this is the
youngest one.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
They always say that some of the best conversations come
when you're in the car, right, just the two of you. So,
what are some of the things that you guys talk
about on the rides to school with him?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Well, the press thing. I asked him, how is your school? Okay,
that's it.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
He sounds like my kids. Wait, how old is he?
Even more so, I'm surprised you even got okay, you're
right right?

Speaker 3 (11:25):
And then he plays volleyball at school, and then you
by asking, well, how is your game last night? Well?
We lost?

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Your impersonation is so dead on. This is great. I
don't even know him, but I can picture that perfect teenager.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
I will tell you this, Bernadette, is that I have
very distinct memories of the time I spent with my
two grand grandmas, like those are the things I cherish most,
going places, going to stars with my grandma's like I
even even though I probably didn't seem like I was
having fun at the time.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
I love that time. So you're just creating such great
memories for your grand I have the same thought, Bernadette,
And like, I don't know about court, but with my grandmother,
I didn't get to spend that much time with her
because she lived in Los Altos and we were in conquered,
so I wouldn't see her that often. And you get
to spend time with your grandson every day, so imagine
the memories he's gonna have special. Good for you, Yeah,

(12:22):
thank you, so Neat Well, We're happy for you, and
thank you for listening and making us a part of
your morning. We love that you guys are listening together.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Thank you. I just love both of you.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Thank you. That is so sweet, Bernadette. Have a great day.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
And if you have a brighter side, like Bernadette, we
would love to hear from you. You can call us
eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one.
You can also send us a talk back using our
free iHeartRadio app. Just look for that red microphone button
while you're streaming the Breeze, click it, leave your brighter side.
It'll show up here in the studio.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
We're just four days away from our next new Morning
Breeze Person of the Week. We're telling you this early
in the week, so you've got plenty of time to
be thinking about. Who is that person in my life
that's always going above and beyond and doing good things
for other people.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Typically, this is somebody who either does not want to
be recognized for those things or just just hasn't been
recognized right, So we will take care of that for you.
We will also award them Brush for two on the
Bay courtesy of City Cruises.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Yes, we'll make that announcement Friday morning, just after seven o'clock.
But we do need your nomination, So think about that person,
let us know who they are. Ninety eight one The
Breeze dot Com seven twenty seven. It's the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Corda.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
That means it's time to ask us anything. And I
say that because right now it's a great time for
you to ask us anything.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
Yes, this is something that we used to do weekday
mornings at six forty and we decided over the weekend.
I called Court, I interrupted this week and I said
what do you say? And I said what? First of all,
I said, why are you calling me that he did
say that anyway, So we're bringing it to seven twenty five.
It's a chance for you to send us a message
with our iHeartRadio app, call us email. We take your

(14:01):
questions and they could be about anything. It could be
on the show, could be behind the scenes. It could
be about stuff going on in the world. It could
be silly stuff like do you like mornings or evenings better?
Which we have done that one days. Ask us anything
comes from Giselle in Pleasanton. She says, Hi, Carolyn, Hi Court,
listen to the show all the time. Thank you, Giselle.

(14:22):
She said, if you had twenty five hours in a day,
how would you spend that extra hour? That's a fun
question to answer, a great question. What would you do?

Speaker 2 (14:34):
I would sleep? And I know that sounds like a
waste of the extra hour. No, but I am constantly
about an hour hour and a half short of a
good eight hours of sleep.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
That's so true.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Even if I'm getting to bed on time, I don't
always go to bed when I should. I don't fall
asleep the way I would like tom So if that
extra hour could be dedicated sleep, it is guaranteed to happen.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
I'm all in Yeah, that sounds great. What about for you?
Mind similar, I'd spend that extra hour doing absolutely nothing
because I never do nothing right, it's doing nothing is important.
Doing nothing is great. Yeah, I would sit there. I'd
probably be on my phone on Instagram just surfing. But
that's a good like meditative thing for me, So I
think I would do that. We actually asked this question

(15:17):
on our Facebook page at ninety eight one of the Breeze.
A lot of people support you and sleeping. They would
do the same. I would say the vast majority of
people say that sleeping would be what they would do
at that extra hour. But then I saw Leo's comment
and he would do some saltwater fishing, okay, and I thought, wow,
there's something.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Yeah, that's all I happened. But what Leo said, that's
great for Leo. When I saw that, I thought, I'm like,
that's really cool. That is I've never been saltwater fishing either.
But then I'm thinking, like all the prep time to
go saltwater fishing, getting in the boat, getting the boat ready,
heading out in the ocean.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
This is why it's good for Leo. Connie would do
baking with her extra hour, very nice. Connie. We are
at three forty Townsend in San Francisco. Now, Carolyn is
gluten free, so if you've got something in the works
that could work for her and me, yep, we're down
the old GF diet. But yeah, so this is great.
So again, we do this every weekday morning. We will
be doing it at seven twenty five. Welcome your question,

(16:14):
send them on the talkback, give us a call eight
seven seven nine eight one nine eight one. Coming up
this morning at eight twenty if you haven't heard, we've
got tickets for you to see Starship featuring Mickey Thomas.
That show happening this Friday night at the Historic or
Into Theater. Such a great theater. And to think that
you're going to see Starship at the Arenda Theater. By

(16:34):
the way, tickets are on sale now at Arendamovies dot com.
But you've definitely got a chance to win them from us. Again.
That comes up eight twenty this morning, right here on
the Breeze eight oh nine Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord.
Happy Monday. Thanks for being here, Carolyn.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
I'm curious to know how you would have handled this
situation so over the weekend, beautiful weather, yes, I decided to.
I upped my walking game by doing some nature walks.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Ooh, I say a hike. Ok Okay, she could have
just said hike, but yep, okay, nature walk hikes. Anyway.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
So I'm out for a hike on Saturday, and I'm
going up this trail and I got behind another hiker.
And this was a very light hike. It was you know, yeah,
it wasn't a big hike at all.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
It was a walk.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
So I got behind this woman and she didn't realize
that I was coming up behind her. But she's there,
she's taken in nature. I'm trying not to to like
stress her out, but I want her to know that
I'm coming up behind it. And I would like to pass, yeah,
but I didn't want to do that, like make myself
known by coughing, So I just tried to make as

(17:39):
much noise as possible on the trail as possible, like
by kind of walking a little louder.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Are you wearing your swishy pants, because you have some
swish if I.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Think if I had been wearing the swishy pants, yeah,
that totally would have cuted her, I would hope. But
I instead, I just looked for every branch along the
trail like a twig. If there was a stick on
the trail, I perfectly try to not try to step
on it so it would crack. Oh you try to
step on, try to.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Step on and make some noise. But it wasn't enough.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
So then eventually I'm picking up sticks and branches along
the way and just kind of casually cracking them.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Are you thinking hitting me?

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Thinking she was going to realize that I was behind her?
She never she never noticed that I was behind her.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
How did you end up passing this poor one?

Speaker 2 (18:23):
I reached a point of the trail where there had
been the trail widened a little bit and there was
like a newer trail. And I typically try not to
go on those newer trails because they, I mean, there's
people are doing little short cuts. I don't like the
little short country you know what I'm talking about. Sure, yes,
but it was my only opportunity to pass her.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
So you you so I saw my move.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
There's this little bit of a jaunt outside of the trail.
It was I wasn't blazing a new trail, and I
went and I startled her. I'm like, hey, good afternoons.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
So you so well, let me get this straight. You
tailgated her the entire time, almost for almost a half
mile three quarters of a mile, broke a bunch of
branches on your way, then you still scared her, and
then you said have a great day, yeah, and zip
right up the trail. And you want to know what
I would have done?

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Should I have just coughed? Should I have just kind
of said on your left?

Speaker 1 (19:18):
You could have just said, excuse me, and that would
have solved every thing. She was ticking in nature, and
I didn't want it to. You can say it gently,
excuse me, booh done, excuse me, But you broke branches, tailgated,
zipped past her.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
I just started thinking of like if I were had
been a wild animal, like a coyote or a corper.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
You make this sound like been a corner poor woman.
I wish we knew who this woman was. I would
love to hear her take on what happened. She probably
went home, was like this jerk, creepy man, nailgating me
the entire time and would just would never pass me.
I don't know. We have so many beautiful trails here
in the Bay Area, and and I know so many

(20:01):
people that hike in the Bay Area. What would you
have done in this situation? Because I guarantee this is
going to happen again to Court, so let's prepare him
for next time.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
What is protocol if you're coming up behind somebody? What
should you do to let them know how I need
to pass?

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Aside from saying excuse me, I need to pass. Uh,
It doesn't seem like a difficult question. But we will
take your calls eight seven seven nine eight one nine
eight one. You can always send us a talk back
with our iHeartRadio app. This is a great chance to
use the talkback on our app and just send that message.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
We will also be taking your phone calls in just
a few minutes because we've got tickets to give away
to see Starship featuring Mickey Thomas this Friday night at
the historic Arenda Theater.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
