Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze. The Morning Breeze on demand. It's music
from the Cardigans at six h five here on ninety
eight point one The Breeze. You've got The Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Court Carolyn, Good morning, Good morning Court.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
On this May night, twenty twenty five. Happy Friday, also
known as count of three days before Mother's Day. Oh
that's right, technically two if you do the Seinfeld method, right, Well,
this day's over and then.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
You have two. It's coming up on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
It is coming up on Sunday. Are you ready? Is
the question?
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Well, it's interesting because my wife, who is the mother
in my household HM, is actually going to be out
of town.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
That's right. She's going to see your daughter.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yeah, it's a mother's weekend at my daughter's sorority. So
she's in Eugene, Oregon this weekend, and so I'm just
I'm just hanging out with my youngest daughter, Sloan.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
That's kind of fun.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
We're both motherless this weekend.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Okay, So how do you handle that? When Randy's gone?
Do you celebrate Mother's Day after?
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Do you not? Because she he's actually going to get
back late later Sunday, so we're gonna have like a
simple Sunday dinner. Okay, Oh good, good good. I already
gave her a Mother's Day gift already, so we're good
to go.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Oh good, okay. Well, Happy Mother's Day to Randy and
to all the moms in our Breeze audience.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
And happy Mother's Day to your mom.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Oh thank you very much. I will be swinging by
to see Mary while I go see her every day,
but I told her on Sunday, I want to take
her out and just like go for a little drive
because she always like it's really funny as you get older,
I think all of us, but like my mom is,
you know, in her eighties, like she really appreciates just
going out and she's like, the trees are so green,
everything's so beautiful, and I forget sometimes that she's like
(01:39):
living in an assisted living community, which is great, but
you don't get to get out as much.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
A chain of scenery is always great.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
It's super good for her.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
So to all of the moms and our Breeze audience,
including the moms that work here like Sylvia Chaconne and
Nikki Ross here on the weekends, and Happy Mother's day
to you guys as well. We're at eight seven seven
nine eight one oh oh nine eight one coming up
six twenty five. We've got the Morning Breeze brain teas.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
All right, listen closely. Around two thousand people in the
USA are injured by this every year, so that's a
small number compared to the total population injured by this
every year. Two thousand people injured by this every year.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
A picture like it's gonna be something random like a
roller blade injury. And I only say that you would
think that's a bigger number, but not that many people
rollerblade anymore.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
I feel like it's a trick question in a weird way.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Interesting, wrong, wrong, okay, all right again eight seven seven
nine eight one nine eight one. Morning Breeze Brain Teas
coming up, six twenty five. Right here, Breeze music.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
From Adele here on ninety eight point one, The Breeze.
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and CORDA heads up
if you use bart. Bart not operating this morning due
to a computer malfunction, so we'll keep you up to
date on that. A traffic report coming up in just
a few minutes. But it's six twenty three and that
means it's time for the Morning Breeze Brain teas sponsored
by Mike Council Plumbing. You're in clean hands with Mike
(03:03):
Council Plumbing. Visit them at mc plumbing dot com.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Okay, so one more time. What is today's question?
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Around two thousand people in the United States are injured
by this every year.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Has a small number. Okay, eight seven seven nine eight
one nine eight one. Gail in San Jose, Good morning,
Happy Friday.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
What is your.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Gas falling down the stairs?
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Falling down the stairs?
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Oh? Yeah, somebody leaves a toy out, or the dog
drops a slipper or something like that, or you're just clumsy. Okay, right, Gail,
Have you fallen down the stairs?
Speaker 4 (03:38):
No, I've fallen down a step before, but I did
it in church when I was a kid, when I
was an ALCOHOLI I stepped up to the altar, lit
the candle, and then I stepped down the step and fell.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
And everybody in the church is like, oh, oh, you
heard the collective gasp.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
That's the worst.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Yeah. I think there's a lot of stair falls happened.
Happened when you think you've finished going down the stairs,
and there's always that one last one. Oh, the misstep,
the missait exactly. I think that's a really solid answer. However,
I just looked this up. Over a million people are
injured in the United States every year due to falling
on the stairs.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
A million million pole.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Oh my gosh, I thought it would be higher.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
We'll have a good day. Thanks for calling.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Ah, are you welcome?
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Good morning, Susan and Pataluma. What is your guess getting
hit by a baseball?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Getting hit by a bah?
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Gosh, you guys.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
This past weekend, Willia Domis of your San Francisco Giants
hit a foul ball. If I hadn't ducked it came
in my window, it would have hit me in the neck.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Oh, you might have been one of these statistics. Yep?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Is that the answer?
Speaker 5 (04:47):
Was?
Speaker 4 (04:48):
She?
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Right?
Speaker 3 (04:48):
With baseball?
Speaker 6 (04:49):
No?
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Oh, however, I'm looking right now. In Major League Baseball,
approximately seventeen hundred spectators are injured by bets, battle balls,
batted balls, the balls annually. So every year, Yeah, well
that's pretty close to two thousand. I was close. Yeah,
you were. Here's what you should really be aware of
or afraid of. Every year, annually, two thousand people in
(05:11):
the United States are injured by house plants.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
How are you injured by a plant?
Speaker 4 (05:16):
I backed into a cactus with time, but I had
all every my butt.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
But why were your pants off?
Speaker 1 (05:24):
No?
Speaker 5 (05:24):
I was wearing shorts, but I had like little thing
and I was vacuuming fast. Oh, and I backed up
too fast and didn't pay attention to where I was
and went oh.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Ow, oh, my gosh, you have had a houseplant injury. Yeah,
all right, Susan, have a good day at a good weekend.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
It's the Morning Breeze brain tease, and we do it
every weekday morning at six twenty five here on the
Morning Breeze Court.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Have you ever heard of extreme day trips?
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Extreme day trips.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Yes, this is the new thing when it comes to travel. Okay,
I'll tell you what it is. We'll see if anybody
listening has ever done this. I think this is super cool.
We'll do that at six forty this morning here on
the Breeze, John Lennon on the Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Coret, Happy Friday.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Happy Friday. Six forty is the time, so Carolyn, extreme
day trips. Yes, I kind of feel like you have
to kind of say extreme day trips.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
I will not say it like that.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
However, extreme day trips are the new travel trend. So
apparently this is a thing that people more and more
are starting to fly somewhere for.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
The day for vacation, just for one day.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
They fly out in the morning, they sight see or
they do whatever they want to do during the day,
They have a leisurely meal in the evening, and then
they fly home that same night.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
I guess this has been popular in the UK for years,
and now it's happening more and more here in the
United States. You're sleeping in your same bed at night.
Think about it, You're not paying for a hotel.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Just make a difference.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
But aren't flights more expensive if you do same day
or not. I don't fly enough to know.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Not if you buy them in advance. I just think,
like a airline, tickets in the United States just are
more expensive than in in Europe.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
So and hence the extreme Maybe why they're calling it.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Suppose and why were you you would fly anywhere any
further than like maybe ninety minutes away.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Well that's the thing too.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
So for me, this is really I don't know whatever,
Say what you will, but one of my like things
I've always wanted to do is like if I was
dating a guy that I super loved and I've always
wanted to do one of these where I fly Like
I go, hey, we're going to go out tonight, like
wear something great, and then I fly us to Vegas
or something for dinner, wow, and then like fly back.
(07:47):
I think it would be fun romantic, like I have
always wanted to do that. That's sort of a version
of an extreme day trip. Have you guys ever done that,
like done.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Not a one day, a one day trip?
Speaker 5 (07:57):
No?
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah, I can't even imagine. I would hesitate to spend
that kind of money just for eight hours. I yeah,
Well that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
That's the key. You have to have the money to
do it.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
I'm a cheapo.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Well Southwest you could go thirty nine each way, no bags,
I know, but I just think it's a cool idea.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Sure, So I wonder if anybody listening has ever done
an extreme day trip or anything like that. Eight seven
seven nine, eight one oh nine to eight one? Where
did you go? Is it affordable? Because that's the other thing,
Like you brought up the costs, like can anyone do
this a cheap? I'm just curious you can always send
us a message with our iHeartRadio app that talkback Mike and.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Coming up this morning at eight fifty perfect for your
Friday morning as you begin your workday. We're going to
give you ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free, relaxing favorites.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Great way to start off your Friday. Maybe an early
weekend for you you are working from home today.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
For those of you that didn't see Carolyn just did
quotation marks.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
That was quotes, But either way, we're going to be
commercial free for ninety eight minutes at eight to fifty
on the Breeze. As I was saying a couple of
minutes ago, I feel like there are a lot of
emotions in this. We haven't talked to our person of
the week yet, nor have we talk to the nominator,
but I feel like, just what I'm reading here from
the nomination, this is going to be very emotional. So
it's Amber who nominated Tracy. We have Amber on the
(09:10):
phone with us. Amber tell us about Tracy.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
So Tracy works three jobs just to make ends me.
She also travels once a week to go visit her
schizophrenic sun. She makes time for me every Saturday to
watch my kids just so I can provide a roof
and everything, like support them, just me and the boys.
And then on top of that, sick, I call her
(09:36):
and she takes off work to watch my kids, and
she really takes like good care of us. So I'm
really appreciative. I wish I could give her like the most,
you know, but like I can't, like I'm barely making
it myself, you know, But I appreciate her a lot,
and she deserves, you know, just to feel special.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
No, this is exactly why we do Person of the
Week because we want to highlight people like this that
are doing things that otherwise they wouldn't be recognized. Right
if it weren't for you, we wouldn't even know about
the Tracy's of the world. And this is just a
good reminder that there are these gems for people out there, yeah,
that are helping others when they're struggling too, you know.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Yeah, absolutely, Are you guys besties? Are you best friends
or how what's your relationship? She is my mom, mom,
she's your mom. Yeah, she is my mom, so she
is your bestie?
Speaker 5 (10:28):
She is.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
And when nobody else is there to help or do
any you know, like it's hard, it really takes a
village these days, and it's hard to do it on
one income. And she works three jobs and makes time
for everybody and helps, you know, and she's getting older
and she's tired, I'm sure, but she does it with
such a good heart and so loving.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
And how appropriate that we are recognizing your mom, Tracy,
on Mother's Day weekend as a Morning Briefs Person of
the Week.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
Yeah, I thought about that.
Speaker 6 (11:01):
I think that's pretty cool. How that works. Well.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
We actually just brought your mom on with us and
she's been listening to everything you've said about her, Tracy,
how are you feeling about all this?
Speaker 5 (11:12):
Oh? This is amazing. Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Tracy, your daughter sending this very nice note and the
line I love the most about what she says is
that you deserve all the blessings that she can't afford
to give. And that's what the Morning Breeze person of
the Week is all about. So on top of recognizing
all the great things you're doing for Amber, we're also
going to send you out on a cruise for two
on the Bay courtesy of City Cruises.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
Oh my gosh, Amber, we need a babysitter so you
can go with me.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
I know.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
You're gonna have to find a sitter.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
Oh my gosh, amazing, sweet are thank you so much.
And ninety eight one, you guys are awesome. Thank you,
and thank you for bring my daughter too. And you
guys just messed my makeup up for my work day.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Welcome.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
We're not even going to apologize for that.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
We really do Yeah, we really do it all here
in Tracy.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Oh, yes, you're welcome. It's a great opportunity for us
to say Happy Mother's Day to both of you.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
Yeah, you're yes, Wow, Yes, what are you doing? It's
gonna be a great day. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
And if there is somebody like Tracy in your life,
we would love to hear from you. You can make
that nomination for the Morning Breeze Person of the Week
on our website ninety eight one The Breeze dot.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Com be Toys with Kocomo, Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
Happy Friday and a.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Happy Friday to you. Seven twenty six is the time,
and that means it's time to ask us anything. If
there is anything on your mind, you can call us
and ask us, Hey, Carolyn, Court, what do you think
about this? If you've heard us talk about something on
the Morning Breeze and that sparked a question. You can
also call us about that eight seven seven nine eight
one nine eight one. Also, so use that talkback feature
(13:01):
on our free iHeartRadio app. It's Bernadette in Fremont.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
So you had a question about how long our show
is here on the Breeze.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
So what was your question?
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Specifically, they will give you a more time on yours
your schedule at the station because I just love.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
That's so nice.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
What you're saying is make make the Morning Breeze longer longer.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Yeah, we're gonna have to get Sylvia on the phone
because she comes on at ten.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
We could start earlier, Carolyn, we could go on the
air at five am.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
I think we're good with six court six, but we
appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
Bernadette, that's so nice. Thank you.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
I just love both of you.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Thank you, and we'll talk to Sylvia. Well, we'll let
Sylvia know that her show now starts at eleven. She'll
love that. Yep, we're kidding, it's not that's not gonna happen.
But that was a very funny line. So thank you.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Okay, thank you, bye bye. We do have a weird
schedule here.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Yeah, it's interesting to think that we're typically wrapping up
our day at ten eleven am in the morning. But
we are always present on social media, so if you
want more of that morning Breeze fix, then you can
always follow us on Instagram, Facebook, threads, TikTok and get
some bonus content.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
If you will, for sure I will thank you Court
And if you have a weird schedule as well, or
just an interesting schedule with your job, maybe you do
a split shift or whatever the case may be, maybe
you're a graveyard shift. Of course you're in bed right now,
but we would love to hear from you at eight
seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one. Of course,
(14:41):
that is also the number you use to ask us anything,
and literally it could be a question about anything in
the world, the show, whatever the case may be, anything.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
That pops into your mind. That's a question coming up.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
At eight fifty this morning, we are going to be
commercial free here on the Breeze. We do this every
weekday morning to start off your day, but Friday mornings
it always just feel so right.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
Sure does ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free, relaxing favorites.
We're gonna give that to you at eight point fifty
here on the morning breeze. So, Carolyn, this is proof
that we live in the world of AI, because just
this week alone, Yeah, I have asked chat GPT to
figure at least five things out for me, things for
(15:22):
my daily life that I would normally just figure out
on my own. I'm just like, I'm tired of thinking
of things. I'm just gonna ask chat GPT. One of
them is what should I have for dinner?
Speaker 5 (15:31):
Really?
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Yeah, because I helped put the meal plan together for
my family, right and at a certain point, as parents,
you just get tired of the same old thing. Tuesdays
are tacos, Wednesday's spaghetti days.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
But how do you know if you just say to
chat GPT, what do I want for dinner?
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Is that all you're saying? Are you giving more details else?
Speaker 1 (15:52):
I basically say, Hey, give me a menu and the
ingredients for five healthy meals this week, and it gives
you what to purchase, what the meals are, how to
prepare them. Wow, And there's a lot of variety in there.
And you know, obviously, if you ask chat GPT to
do something for you, you don't have to do what chat
GPT does. Yeah, but it's pretty great.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
No, it is.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
I asked chat gpt to help me write a script
the other day. Yeah, and it did such a good job.
I actually sounded like I worked for the company that
I was writing the script for it. I had to
kind of rewrite what chat gpt suggested, but all that aside,
I was blown away by how scary.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Good it is.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
It's burrow it is.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Don't want to embrace it, but man, it's good.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Yeah. Well, I think there's you have to take everything
with a grain of salt and sometimes like maybe a
pound of salt. My wife did a similar thing where
she was she was tired of her workouts, so she
asked chat gpt to come up with I think it
was a twelve week program for her that included what
she should have lunch, healthy lunches, her workout, daily workouts.
(17:03):
She says, I have an hour every day to work out,
and she also she kind of put in some fitness goals,
so she fed it as much information as she wanted to,
and then it came up with a program for her
and she's been following it for a week and she
said those hour long workouts are tough.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
That is insane to me. Again, I am trying to
put off embracing this technology, but when I hear stories
like that, it's so great. But here's the flip side
for me. What happens then to the trainers in the
gems Like this, Chat GPT is great and all of AI,
but it's starting to replace jobs and I hate to
see that happen. Another reason that I'm like digging my
(17:39):
heels in the ground. Right, But that is pretty awesome. Yeah,
so would you have for dinner?
Speaker 1 (17:43):
By the way, but we had some these Brio tacos.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
The Beria, the Bria.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Yeah, oh so, gram up did.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
It eat it? It was good?
Speaker 1 (17:53):
So good.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
How are you embracing chat, GPT and AI without it
affecting jobs?
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Eights seven, seven, nine, eight, one oh nine eight one.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Or use our iHeartRadio app that talkback Mike to send
a message.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
And coming up later in the show. So it's eight
twelve right now, so let me do the math here.
Forty is less than forty minutes from right now, We're
gonna go commercial free, which means ninety eight minutes of NonStop,
commercial free relaxing favorites.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Yes, a great way to start off your Friday morning,
so be here at eight point fifty that's not too
far away, and we'll be commercial free on the Breeze
