The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on demand. Cha Cha, Stevie,
wonder what you said?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
What we were all thinking.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
I know, I know, I know, I know. I feel
like I do it every time with that song. This
is just the first time I did it out loud.
Six nineteen Morning Breeze, Carolyn and Court, and it is
time for the Morning Breeze brain Tease. We do it
every weekday morning at six twenty. It's sponsored by My
Council Plumbing. You're in clean hands with My Council Plumbing.
See them online at mc plumbing dot com. Okay, so

(00:33):
today's brain tease kind of a tricky one.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Well not really if you a lot of numbers.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Court, Okay, So a majority of Americans ninety five percent
of us have tried this. Twenty percent of us that
have tried it have a negative opinion about it.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Really got to think through what's not hard? All right?
Eight seven seven nine, eight one oh nine eight one.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Good morning, Joe listening in a rin What is your
guest this morning for the brain tease?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
An onion onion? Oh yeah, are you an onion fan?

Speaker 4 (01:08):
No? The other way.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
I don't like those, No, like not.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Even a red onion or a shallot, a lighter onion.
I'm sorry, what are your feelings? What are your feelings
on leaks?

Speaker 4 (01:20):
That's an onion family, same family, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
It's the same family.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
All right, so we know Joe not a fan of onions,
wrote that down. Great answer, not the correct one though,
all right, all.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Right, Joe, make it a good day. Thank you for listening.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
Thanks so much.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
You got it, Joe. All right, Al in PACIFICA good morning.
What's your guess?

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Truffles truffle rubbles. That's such a random guess, but such
a good guess.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
I might be one of the twenty percent on this.
I am not a fan of truffle and truffle oil. Oh,
I thought you meant the chocolate truffles. Wait, yeah, you
mean do you mean chocolate truffles? Chocolate truffles?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Okay, yeah no, but still same. That is an intense chocolate.
You have to be ready for a truffle. It's a
lot of chocolate coming out.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I am a fan of the chocolate truffle.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Okay, Al, do you like a chocolate truffle?

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Yeah? I do. And the other day, just my son
didn't like the ketchup that I was using and now
he bought me.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
A truffle ketchup.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
Have you ever seen one of those?

Speaker 1 (02:20):
No, like a chocolate ketchup. No, this is the truffle.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Catchup.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
This is the truffle. Now we're back to my truffles.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
Yeah, it's some sort of truffle ingredients infuse into this saw.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
And it looks like ketchup. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I'm totally lost because there are so many truffle conversations
going on between three people.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Anyway, is truffle the answer? It's a mushroom. Mushroom.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
No, it is not truffle in any shape or form.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Okay, what's the answer?

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Correct answer. Study found that ninety five percent of Americans
have tried this, and twenty percent of us have a
negative opinion about it. It's cotton candy, okay, cotton and candy.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
I like cotton candy, me too.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
My wife does not like cotton candy.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Can I have hers?

Speaker 2 (03:05):
You're welcome to it.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Oh, so good.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
She's not a fan of cotton candy. Cott candy is
just sugar. Let's be honest.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
No, Al will take Randy's cotton candy for sure. Okay, Well,
thank you for calling.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Have a great day, Well, thank you too.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
To thank you al. When was the last time, Carolyn,
that you actually had cotton candy?

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I know exactly when it was This past season at
the Giants, my producer Billy bet me one hundred dollars
that he'd give me a thing of cotton candy from
the ballpark. Would I eat the whole thing? If I
ate the whole thing, he'd give me one hundred dollars
if I took the bet. They brought the cotton candy in.
I looked at it and said absolutely not. But I

(03:45):
still ate some of it. So I had it this season.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
So did you have to pay him one hundred dollars
because you didn't know?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
We just forgot about it. We all snacked on cotton candy. Man,
it is so good. I don't know what Randy's deal is,
but who that is a good snack.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
I don't want to I don't want to go into
two much detail here, but Randy has a list of
seven items that she will not eat, and cotton candy
is on the top of that list.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
What's one other item, just so we get a better
picture of Randy.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Malt you know, like whoppers?

Speaker 1 (04:11):
You know, the oh those are so good.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
It's not like malt Boy.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Yeah, it sounds like I'm really going to score off
of Randy's can number three.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Yes, fortune Cookies, M got it.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Yeah. Agree.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I could go on and on, but what's one more?

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Just one more for fun?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Oh, I got to think about that.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Oh, licorice, the waste of a candy. No it's not,
Yes it is.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Oh black licorice is like a gift from above. M
all right.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Well, by the way, speaking of that, we do have
a question on our Facebook page right now, speaking yeah
of at ninety eight one of the Breeze of your
favorite Halloween candy.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
So join that.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
We'd love to hear from you too, Randy, please join
it and give us five and six We want to know.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
All right, we're at eight seven seven nine one, nine
eight one.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Find us on social media anytime, any place, ninety eight
one the Breeze.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
And coming up this morning at it's a chance for
you to call into the show and ask us anything.
So as we ask all these questions with the Morning
Breeze brain Teas, let's turn the tables. You ask us
some questions and we'll do our best to answer. Ask
us anything happening at six forty here on the Morning
Breeze and Louise music from the Eagles at six forty
one here on ninety eight point one the Breeze. It's

(05:19):
the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord, and it's time
now to ask us anything. As Carolyn said just moments ago,
there is no question too big, no question too small,
Although we do prefer medium sized questions.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Really, I would literally answer anything anybody with.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
I'm not saying we won't answer the big questions. I'm
just saying I prefer the medium. You're more of a
medium kind of guy, of a medium count.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Okay, Well, we want to say thank you to Monica
and Walnut Creek, who literally just sent me a message,
okape and she said I have a question for you
or ask us anything. She sent it through social media,
which is one way to reach out to us. Sure,
she says, who was your very first crush? I love
this one because the first question is always funny, like

(06:01):
when you say who was your favorite teacher? Just hearing
names or your best friend growing up. I don't know
what it is about hearing names from the pass and away,
I believe you have shared your first crush with this before.
I feel like we have talked about this.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Do you remember my I'm trying to I.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Say his name, You're going to totally I can't. Robert Chung.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Robert Chung. There it is.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Robert Chung was on the swim team. We swam for
Ignatio would swim team and conquered. He lived right up
the street. I want to say, like ten eleven, twelve ish,
maybe early teens, okay, all the way till now, late
elementary school the wait tell them, uh yeah, and his
family lived right up the street. So he was one

(06:43):
of the cool people that could walk to the pool.
And he was in school with me, and he was
so cute. And one time in a swim meet, it
was a Springwood invitational, we kissed in the hallway. Oh wow,
but like it's more than a crushed her closed mouth kissed.
And then that was the end of Robert Chung in
my relationship. And said, wow, I never saw him after that.
Just stop talking to me.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
He's the one who got away.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, I really liked him. Well, who was it for you? Court?

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Mine was Sandy Eagans little the names are funny, Little
Sandy Egans. Her full name was Cassandra Oh what'd you
call it? Sandy? And she lived around the block. But
Sandy loved another. Oh my best friend, Paul.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
That's gotta hurt for Oh man, it's stung, it's stung.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
And this was kindergarten.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Oh boy, man, did Paul have an attitude too?

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yeah, he kind of rubbed it in my face a
little bit. But and it didn't go beyond just a
little crush on her, did she just you know, we'd
hang out every now and then, but then she moved
away with her mom.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
And oh, what.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Is in the first grade? I fell in with fell
in love with Shannon Danklish.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Okay, it sounds like you moved on fine, so you're
gonna be okay, what happened to Shannon?

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Just while we're we were friends all through high school?

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Okay? Yeah? Yeah, because by by second grade, so Dan
Cliff was first grade, second grade, Miss miss Ellerman came
along my actual teacher in second grade.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
We went from a second grader to your second grade teacher.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
You're almost guarantee you every boy out there, every man
listening to this show, had a crush on one of
their early elementary school teachers, Miss Ellerman.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
That was Miss Foster for us in high school, all
the boys and this is back in the day. We're
really on a tangent now. So Monica, I hope you
enjoy this question that you asked. Miss Foster used to
have posters. This is how much times have changed on
her walls in our class I took public speaking with
her of Kevin Costner. She was obsessed, so her whole

(08:39):
classroom was Kevin Costner photos now and posters. Now looking
back on this now, remember when you used to in
the eighties, you'd have like sixteen by twenties.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
A bit of it.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Can you imagine now if you walked into a classroom
and your teacher had like posters of some hottie from
back in the day, it would not fly.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Probably not so anyway.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Needless to say, Monica.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Great question.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
That was a good one.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Yes it was.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
So send us your questions anytime through our iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
You can use the talkback mic.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
You can call us eight seven seven nine eight one
oh ninety win, or send us a message on social
media like Monica did.

Speaker 2 (09:15):

up because we've got tickets to give away. I didn't

from ninth grade through post college get into the fire department.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Oh love that. My brother is a firefighter.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
And it's all free.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
So I'm curious. How do you know so much about this?

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Well, it was founded in nineteen ninety nine, and I'm
a retired firefighter of thirty four years.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
WHOA.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
I started in Los Angeles Fire Department, then I went
and spent twenty nine years with finals A fire department,
and then one year with your wife fire department.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Oh wow, goodness, my grandparents lived in Los Altos. That
meant you were keeping my grandparents safe. So thank you.

Speaker 2 (11:12):

we have, you know, our opinions but love to hear
from you what your favorite thing is about what you did.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
My favorite thing was to solve problems for our citizens
and help them out. I got a lot of joy
out of that.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
So yeah, and I'll bet you did solve a lot
of problems for your local residents.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Public service for the right reason right there.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Right right right.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
So what's your favorite thing about retirement then? Most importantly, Well.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
My favorite thing is helping other people get hired into
the fire department, especially our young women. Yeah, yeah, I
used to be the recruit officer for the City of
Santa A.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
So you do a Google search for ffabc's with an
s M.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
It's all three.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Okay, that's great.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
You take care and have a nice.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Day, you too, Okay, Bye, Russell.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Goo, good luck.

Speaker 1 (12:14):

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Yeah, she's at the Masonic in the city on November

Cars at seven twenty four. Here on ninety eight point
one The Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Corey.
A couple of guarantees when you tune into the Morning
Breeze is that you're gonna get relaxing favorites like the cars. Absolutely,
you also might learn something mm hmm because every day

(12:54):
we bring you the more you know, sponsored by the
San Francisco Symphony.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Just hearing that makes me want to go out the Symphony.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Yeah, and today's today we're going to learn about Halloween candy. Correct.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Instacart release the top Halloween candy rankings. Okay, so we've
got a list of five here coming in at number five,
they say the Snickers Bar.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Snickers Bar is at number fi five.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Yeah, are you writing this down?

Speaker 2 (13:26):
I want to keep tracking this.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Okay, Number four, the kit kat YEP, number three, Plane
Emin MS, number two, Peanut M and MS. So what
do you think is at the top instag Part's Halloween
candy rankings?

Speaker 2 (13:40):
The top given given what you have already listed the
number one is the Reese's Peanut butter Cup.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Correct. Yes, I was surprised by that. I thought for sure.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
See, I would take the Reese's Peanut butter Cup and
then I would throw it out the window, and I
would take the Snickers and put that at the top.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
You wouldn't even have the Reese's Peanut butter Cup on
your list.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
I mean, I know people like it, but it's too
much work. It sometimes melts. There are the rappers where
you put your finger in to peel the wrapper off,
and then you get chocolate under your nail, which is annoying.
It's too much work to eat that candy.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Every single candy on this list could you could describe
the same thing. They will melt under heat.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Well, but Thees there's something about it. It's it's off
my list. Okay, so what do you think of this list?

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I would probably if I were to create this list,
I would keep Vere's Peanut butter Cup at the top.
And this is just specific to Halloween because I have
a whole other list when it just comes to candy bars. Okay, anyway,
Halloween candy, it's Reese's, It's kit Cat, Snickers, Peanut butter
eminem's m and ms. Oh whoa yeah, and I'd probably
I may even throw in, like some Twizzlers licorice, because

(14:47):
my god, I love no, I love a good licorice.
I'm a big fan of black licorice.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
I would eat a red vine, but I would not
eat a Twizzler Twizzlers. There's something about it. It's like
chemicals to me. Wow, oh no, wow, you love licorice.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
I like I mentioned this earlier in the show. I
believe that licorice was sent from on high. It was
from above. Really, it's like Heaven's candy.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Okay, that is a in moderation.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Really, you can overdo it with licorice. It's not like
you can just eat a ton of licorice at once,
but a man a good licorice here and there.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Okay, well that's disgusting.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
I would like to give a round of applause to
our listeners. We asked this question on our Facebook page.
It's Halloween candy season. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Round of applause to everybody that has come forward and
admitted they like the candy corn the most. I am
with you on that. Talk about a candy from heaven above.
That's a good candy right there.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
I will not say what I want to say about
the candy.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
I feel like the candy corn is the cilantro of
Halloween candy. You either love it or you hate it, right, sure,
so you hate it.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
I do not like candy corn.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
I will have yours.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Yeah, well, you're gonna have to fight my wife for it,
because she loves candy corn.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
This is why I love Randy.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
So we have this question on our Facebook page and
you can call us anytime eight seven seven nine eight
one oh nine eight one.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
But there you go.

Speaker 3 (16:15):

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Court, you're definitely getting some heat over your obsession and
passion for licorice.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
I love licorice. I think it's heaven sent. It's one
of the greatest candies of all time.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Well, we've got a talk back on our iHeartRadio app
and she feels otherwise.

Speaker 7 (17:39):
Okay, Court, absolutely not licorice was made a punishment for
all of us humans. My husband needs the red stuff.
It's nasty. The black is even worse. Anyway, just my opinion.
I would never ever eat that stuff. I would rather
throw it away, all right, bye?

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Wow, Okay she said I'd rather throw it away. Okay bye? Yeah,
all right.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
That's a message off our iHeartRadio app. Use that talkback
microphone to send us a message. We also have this
question on our Facebook page at ninety eight one of
The Breeze Your favorite Halloween candy?

Speaker 2 (18:17):
It's Madonna at eight eleven. Here on ninety eight point
one The Breeze, The Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court,
where we're talking about everybody's favorite subject right now, Halloween candy.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Absolutely, it's October first, let the countdown begin. Instacart came
out with her Halloween candy rankings, and we're wondering how
you feel about Reese's Peanut Buttercups being at the top
of the list.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
I strongly disagree.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Yeah, you're not a fan.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Just a messy eat the heeling of the wrapper, You
get the chocolate under your nails, sometimes they melt.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
It's just a whole deal, right, But you.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
Also, we should point out you also like candy corn,
which is a huge red flag for some people.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Which I said earlier. Candy corn could be the cilantro
of candy. Either you love it right or you hate it.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Now.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Kudos to our listeners because we have this question on
our Facebook page at ninety eight one of the Breeze
and a lot of people say their favorite Halloween candy is.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Candy the candy corn. I don't get it, and you
don't get it.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Well, you also like licorice, so that says a lot, right.
I love licorice, so good hard pass. We're at eight seven, seven, nine,
eight one oh ninety eight one. Michelle and Dalayoh, good morning.

Speaker 6 (19:23):
Yeah Hi, I'm a new listener of the Breeze and
I'm listening to your show right now on liquoriss and
candy corn, and I'm so faded because they both suck.
And I know that the liquis is supposed to be
supposed to be the candy of all of Heaven or
whatever whatever. No candy candy corn. I know both.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
We y'all lie.

Speaker 6 (19:43):
It's okay. It's okay to lie on the radio, but
if you ask yourself when you go home. You are
really like, who the hell goes to Walmart?

Speaker 5 (19:50):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (19:50):
Whatever? It's Oh you guys that candy corn?

Speaker 1 (19:53):
Oh this girl does?

Speaker 6 (19:55):
I guess you like Betterscotch too, hon Oh well.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Now that's fighting words. Now I love butterscotch.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
But no, okay, no, what's your favorite candy? What's your
go to?

Speaker 6 (20:11):
I don't yeah, I don't train it up.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
I don't.

Speaker 6 (20:13):
I don't see onn Skittles, nothing for a snickerbar or whatever.
Giles all the way.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
You and I need to hang out because yeah, you
would get so many skittles for me, and I would
get all your candy corn and your butter Scotch and
it would be the best Halloween ever.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
Right, Okay?

Speaker 6 (20:33):
You know so I've been listening though for a couple
of days, and you guys are like awesome, And I'm like,
when I heard the discussion this morning, I'm like, I
hope they answer.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
So, Michelle, I got to ask you this. The important
question is, so you're a new listener. You're listening to
the Morning Breeze. Now that you've found out that one
of us likes licorica the other one likes candy corn,
are you still going to continue to listen despite that.

Speaker 6 (20:57):
Of course, good morning, good morning.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
You are lovely and you call us anytime. What a
great addition to our show.

Speaker 6 (21:06):
I'm show awere you guys have a good bad room
there at the Breeze.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Good. I do almost considered bringing her in and just
putting her on our third mic she I love Michelle
that night, as long as she brings in skittles.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
I'm fine with that.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
No, you can leave your skittles and lobby, Michelle, but
you're welcome to join the show anytime.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
All right.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
It's instacarts Halloween candy rankings. Reese's peanut butter cups at
the top of the list, licorice not on the list,
candy corn not on the list either. Yeah, and it
sounds like Michelle's okay with that. We're at eight seven
seven nine eight one oh nine eight one.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
And you can join the conversation on our Facebook page
where we've asked the simple question is what is your
favorite Halloween candy?

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Yes, that's at ninety eight one the Breeze and coming
up later this hour, we're going to be commercial free
here on the Breeze.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
And that means ninety eight minutes of NonStop commercial free,
relaxing favorites. We're doing that at eight fifty here on
