Speaker 5 (01:09):
Oh no, I don't think so.

Speaker 7 (01:14):
Donut, James?

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Is it like? Is it like the classic glazed?

Speaker 7 (01:17):
Is it a cake donut? An old fashioned?

Speaker 5 (01:20):
I like, oh, just regular glaze donuts?

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Oh yeah, man, James, I like your voice. You can
talk to me all day long. We could talk donuts,
we could talk whatever it could be. You could read
me the phone book James.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
Oh yeah, most people don't need those either anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah, that's true too, that's true. Love the answer as donuts,
but it's not the correct one.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
Oh wow, that sounds pretty good though.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Oh yeah, yeah, what else sounds good? James? That voice
of yours? Keep talking?

Speaker 8 (01:53):
That was.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
All right, James.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
On that note, we'll let you go.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Thank you for listening, James. All right, all right, Lucas
in marine, what do you think the answer is?

Speaker 8 (02:16):
I want to say a bagel with cream cheese.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Bagel with cream cheese, one would think, man, that does
sound good, but your go to bagel flavor, Lucas plain.

Speaker 8 (02:24):
I like plain bagels, but if I'm really in the mood,
I like blueberry bagels.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Okay, are you toasting it, Lucas, are you going straight
out of the bag that's the question.

Speaker 8 (02:33):
Oh, I always toast my bagels. I always toast my bagel.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Don't toast their bagels.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
I think if you go to like a bagelry and
it's a fresh bagel, I think that's fine.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
It's called a bagelry.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
I thought it was a bakery exactly specializing bagels charity.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Lucas, have you ever heard of a bagelry?

Speaker 8 (02:50):
I've never heard of.

Speaker 7 (02:53):
Not making this up.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Bagels as delicious as they are not the correct answer, unfortunately,
correct answer, pizza please four pizza breakfast a regular basis,
I know.

Speaker 8 (03:05):
Oh my gosh, I never want to get now. If
it was breakfast pizza, I could understand that. But I've
never heard of like a regular peace.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
I ate pizza for breakfast all the time. Well, Lucas,
that was fun.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Hope you have a great Friday, have a good weekend too,
and thank you for calling YouTube.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Bye bye.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
It's the Morning Breeze's Brain Teas and we do it
every weekday morning here at six twenty on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Yes, and if you haven't heard, we have very big news.
We are so excited because starting Monday, here on the Breeze,
we're going to have a chance for you to win
tickets to the Disneyland Resort. We're not talking two tickets, no,
heck no, we're talking four tickets.

Speaker 7 (03:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
And if you have and these are a specific well,
you can go kind of anytime you want, but we
highly recommend you go during the holidays because they've kicked
off the holidays right now.

Speaker 7 (03:50):
It's Halloween time in.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
The park and they do a great job.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Then they segue into holidays, but it's also their seventieth
anniversary celebration.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah, and nobody does it like the Disney So we're
going to be doing this every day next week. Listen
at eight oh five and four oh five for your
chance to win those Disneyland Resort tickets.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Here on the Breeze Breeze.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
It's bet Middler six forty one Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Court. Happy Friday morning, and it is time for
ask us anything, a chance for you to ask us
anything in the world what's on your mind, especially out
of Friday morning. We tend to get questions on a
Friday morning that are a little bit more rogue, which
I enjoy. Just the more random the better.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
And by the way, you can send us your questions
all sorts of different ways. You can call us eight
seven seven nine eight one nine eight one. You can
use the talkback feature on our free iHeartRadio app. You
can send us email going to our website ninety eight
one Thebreeze dot com. Yes, heck, you could even send
snail mail if you wanted.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
We've gotten that and enjoy it.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Today's actually is an email from Mandy in Oakland, who said,
Carolyn in Court, which do you prefer talking to people
on the phone or texting people on your phone?

Speaker 7 (04:59):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Oh, okay, I think it depends on the person. Sure,
if it's you court, a long conversation anytime any day.

Speaker 7 (05:11):
You're rolling your eyes right now, No.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Because I am, like, I enjoy those so much.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
I have a friend, my friend Kira, we will talk
for two or three hours on the phone.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Yeah, on a like a Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
And you can't have those conversations via text, so you've
got those have to be on the phone.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Sometimes.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
My girlfriends, my friend Holly, same thing. We get on
the phone for hours. But most people a textas preferable.
It's just faster for all of us.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
How about for.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
You, it's kind of the kind of depends on who
it is. Like there are certain people I know, if
they're calling me, then something's up, you know what I mean.
You and I kind of have that conversation where like
we'll typically talk to each other in person, but if
we kind of need a gossip a little bit.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
What we call it a gossip court.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Anyway, I saw that you put this question, was it yesterday?

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:59):
It was the question on our Facebook page yesterday, And
it seems like a lot of people share that same
opinion of it depends on who you're talking to.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
I think that I'm looking through these answers is definitely
a fifty to fifty So I think it just depends
on the situation. But Mandy, that's a great question, really is.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
And I think it also comes down to like if
you're calling somebody and you just need like a quick answer,
just just text them. Yeah, that's what you should be
doing there, hint?

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Are you hinting?

Speaker 7 (06:24):
Maybe?

Speaker 3 (06:25):
I am all right? It's ask us anything. That was
a really fun one. Though, again, we do it every
weekday morning here at six forty. You can send us
your questions many different ways. Court told you how to
do that. You can call us at eight seven seven
nine eight one, nine eight one. Coming up in just
a few minutes, just after seven o'clock, we will be
announcing this week's Morning Breeze Person of the Week.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Yeah, it's a celebration of somebody great here in the
Bay Area. And even though we do have today's selected,
we are going to be naming somebody new next week
and the following week. So we would love you to
nominate somebody in your life going above and beyond, and
we've made that's super easy to do.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Yeah, just go to our website ninety eight one The
Breeze dot com, but be here just after seven o'clock
to find out who this week's winner is.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Back in a second on The.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Breeze, it's a song you will hear only here on
ninety eight point one The Breeze with Joe Cocker and
Jennifer Warrens. At seven oh four, you've got the Morning
Breeze with Carolyn and Court and it's that time of
the week where we get to announce the latest Morning
Breeze Person of the Week.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
This week it was Jamie who nominated her aunt Christine
and in the nomination. As we mentioned a minute ago
that came to us. Jamie said that her aunt is
the most selfless person right that she knows. So we're
gonna try and get Jamie on the phone first.

Speaker 7 (07:41):
Hello, Hi, is this Jamie.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yes, Hey, it's Carolyn and Chord from ninety eight point
one The Breeze.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
We're calling about your aunt for Person of the Week.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Oh my gosh, Hi bye.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
We read your note about your aunt and we're like,
we have to make her the person of the week.
She sounds like the best in the whole wide world.
Oh my goodness, Thank you guys so much.

Speaker 7 (08:05):
So Jamie, tell us about your aunt.

Speaker 5 (08:07):
Oh man, she's literally the best aunt in the world.

Speaker 8 (08:09):
I live with her. She's taken me in ever since
I was little. She works two jobs, literally just to feed.
Everyone's most selfless person I've ever met.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
You mentioned that she gets up as early as four
in the morning to start her day just so she
can take care of everybody and everything.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Yes, four in the morning, comes back home, gets ready.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
For her next shift.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
What does she do.

Speaker 8 (08:32):
She's a lab assistant in the morning, and then she
does she's an MLT in the evening.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
More lab work, more live work.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
She sounds smart and very selfless and in your own words,
like a true role model of just somebody you would
want in your life.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Yes, you had mentioned in your note to us that
she never has time to even go out to dinner
or to relax because she's so busy taking care of
everybody in the family that she never gets to do.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Anything for herself. Yeah. Ever, okay, Well, we just.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Brought your aunt Christine on the phone with us, and Christine,
you've been listening to what Jamie's been saying about you
and how she nominated you for our person of the Week,
and obviously you are now winning our Morning Breeze Person
of the Week.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
What do you think about everything that Christine is said
about you?

Speaker 5 (09:19):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (09:19):
Wow, it's just blowing out this portion.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Well, one of the things that Jamie said about you,
Christine is that you rarely take time to relax on
your own, but you never complain about anything that you're
doing as you're working so hard to take care of
all these other people. It's a rarity, I think, in
this world, and we wanted to recognize everything that you're doing,
not just for Jamie but for your entire family and

(09:45):
name you the Morning Breeze person of the week.

Speaker 8 (09:47):
Oh wow, thank you.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
So not only does the whole Bay area know now
how awesome you are, but we're also going to give
you brunch for two out on the bay on a
beautiful City Cruises boat. So you get to go out
on the bay, take a guest with you. You have
to take some time off for this somehow, though, Christine,
and have to find some time in your day. But
you get to go out with one other person and
have brunch and just hang out on the bay for

(10:10):
a while, enjoy some good food and the great views.

Speaker 7 (10:13):
Oh wow, Jemmy will definitely want to go.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Oh well, it's a win win for Jamie.

Speaker 7 (10:19):
Then there we go.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
She gets to shout you out on the radio and
then she gets to go to brunch with you after
all that.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Oh yeah, that's my baby.

Speaker 8 (10:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
But you, Christine, you sound incredible.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
And you know, if every family could be as lucky
as as your family is to have a Christine in
their family, the world would be a better place.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
So thank you for being such an awesome person.

Speaker 8 (10:40):
Thank you very much.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
Oh you're very welcome. Do you have to get back
to work now?

Speaker 7 (10:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (10:45):
My lunch for fig figures.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Well, thanks for taking time to talk to us this morning,
this early.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Thank you very much.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
I find it with Person of the Week, there are
always those people that we talk to that are like Christine,
that are going what did I do right?

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Just doing my job and just living my life.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, going about what
she thinks as a normal day and what a normal
person would do. Yeah, and that's exactly what our Person
of the Week is all about. It's highlighting those people
that normally, like Christine, wouldn't do something for themselves.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
And that's where you come in. So tell us about
that person in your life that's going above and beyond,
because next Friday we'll be looking for another Person of
the Week and you can get us those nominations at
ninety eight one The Breeze dot com. It's Chicago at
seven twenty six. Good morning, Happy Friday morning. It's the
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and it is time

(11:38):
for something we do every weekday morning at this time.
It is called the More You Know, and it's sponsored
by our friends at the San Francisco Symphony.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
So I asked the question, Carolyn, is there anything worse
than being dumped in a relationship.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
You said, no, absolutely not, And I can say that
this comes unfortunately a lot of experience, from a place
of experience, I guess well, A recent study found that
actually there is something worse than being dumped.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
I can't imagine.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
It's being ghosted, which is a foam of being dumped.
Not cool but different for those of you that don't know,
being ghosted as when you end a relationship with somebody
suddenly and without explanation, you cut off all communication.

Speaker 7 (12:20):
It's done.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Yeah, it's like the Irish goodbye of breakups, right.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Yeah, but the Irish goodbye is kind of cute.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
All right, cool, because I do that all the.

Speaker 7 (12:29):
Time because you see them again, you'll see them, you know.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Yeah, I know you're on good terms. You just left
without saying goodbye. But a relationship that is when worse.
You're right, when you're ghosted worse.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Yeah, And they they say the reason why, it's because
there's the lack of closure.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
It is and you don't get that.

Speaker 7 (12:46):
It's not me, it's you.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Your mind, you it's me goes yeah, which that's just
as bad, sure, but your mind goes crazy because you're
wondering what did I do when it could be the
other person? You always left like, I don't know that
closure you don't know.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Yeah, In fact, the study found that it has everything
to do with your brain's response to rejection.

Speaker 7 (13:07):
You're sitting there analyzing what did I do wrong? Would
I do wrong?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
And then you internalize the blame. Then you just start
blaming yourself. Well, I had to have been me.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
Look, I know you've been married one hundred and seventy
two years.

Speaker 7 (13:18):
It's twenty twenty years.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
Okay, have you ever been ghosted though?

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Like, basically, I guess at this point you would have
been ghosted in middle school?

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Hunt, Well, middle school is when it happened. Middle school
is when it happened.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
You will rebuild.

Speaker 7 (13:31):
I went.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
It was seventh grade and her name was Ashley. I
asked her, I asked her to go with me. That
was the term in my middle school. If would you
go with me?

Speaker 7 (13:42):
Ashley?

Speaker 2 (13:43):
And she said yes, And then she came to my
basketball game that Saturday.

Speaker 7 (13:48):
I was too embarrassed to talk to her because my
dad was there. And then on Monday, I'd never heard
from urgence. She I think she even moved schools.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
You know what, you don't Ashley. You got Randy. Now,
Randy is way better than National. That's right, she's listening.
That's right, all right, that's a good one. The more
you know, we do it every weekday morning at seven
twenty five. You can reach us at eight seven, seven
nine eight one oh nine eight one if you missed
it earlier. We made the big announcement that starting Monday
here on the Breeze. We are so excited about this.

(14:19):
We're going to have a chance for you to win
tickets to the Disneyland resort.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yeah, celebrating the holidays in the park. On top of
the holidays, it's also the seventieth anniversary celebration. It's a
double whammy, it is.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
We're going to have four packs of tickets.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
We're going to be doing it every weekday eight oh
five and four oh five.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Again.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
That all starts Monday, right here on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Edwin McCain at eighth seven here on ninety eight point
one the Breeze. You've got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Corden that you're apparently going to ask my advice
on something.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
I want to know what you would have done in
this situation. I was on a flight coming home. I
was flying on Delta Airlines over the weekend.

Speaker 7 (14:56):
If you're a quick trip to Wisconsin, that you did.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
It was so home and the flight attendant comes along
and she was taking drink orders like soda and coffee
and all that stuff. I had perused, if I may
use one of your words, perused the menu to see
what else they offered. I wasn't thinking cocktail, but I
wanted something other than a soda because I had to
go to sleep because we could show the next day.

(15:19):
Sure well, I saw that Delta Airlines is doing this
great thing where they are offering some pink drinks with
one hundred percent of the proceeds. You pay like four
dollars to the drink, one hundred percent of the proceeds
go to breast cancer research.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
I thought was great.

Speaker 7 (15:33):
October is breast cancer Awareness month.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
That it is my friend. So the pink ribbon refresher.
Let me tell you what's in.

Speaker 7 (15:40):
This that's the one that caught your eye.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Yeah, oh yeah, sprite, no caffeine, nice minute made, pink
lemonade and cranberry juice. So it feels it's like a mocktail, right,
with proceeds going to breast cancer research.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
I'm like, this is great. So in my mind, I'm
getting this.

Speaker 7 (15:56):
Drink sounds delicious.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
So here's what happens.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Comes back to take the order, and as I'm about
to say the pink ribbon refresher, I say to myself,
as she's sluging open coke zeros and yeah apple juice
and dishing amount of people, and I hear a crack
in these cans, I'm like, the last thing this poor
woman needs to do is mix a mocktail right now.
So I didn't order it because I felt bad.

Speaker 4 (16:21):
She felt bad because I didn't.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Want her to have to like open a can of
sprite get the minute made pink lemonade. Out here comes
the cranberry juice for seed thirty one.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
D Are you even sure that she was gonna have
to mix it herself, because oftentimes these mixed drinks that
you get on planes are already pre mixed there in
a can. They just pop the top and handed to
you like good to go.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
What, No, they're not, No, they're not. They can't mix
a sprite in advance.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
You'd lose a combination.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Sure, that's the part that I'm not sure of. Like,
but if it's in a can, sure, sure they can.
If it's you know, it's self sealed up, it just
popped up. I do know this for a fact, and
a lot of airlines when you see those mixed drinks cocktails, yes,
they come pre made, they're ready to go.

Speaker 7 (17:03):
They pop the top and hand it to you. You're
ready to go.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
So I could have had the pink ribbon.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
I can't imagine them trying they doing something that would
actually slow down the surface service.

Speaker 7 (17:12):
Maybe I'm wrong on this.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
Here's I got two questions, but I guess.

Speaker 7 (17:16):
Good for you for thinking of the flight attendant.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
I felt bad, but now I'm like, oh, I should
have had it. Okay, if you work for Delta Airlines,
now should I have ordered that?

Speaker 5 (17:26):
Like?

Speaker 4 (17:26):
Is it pre mixed? Number two?

Speaker 3 (17:28):
If you are a flight attendant, do you hate it
when somebody is like, I'll have the you know, the
pink ribbon, such a drink and now you have to
put like three ingredients and a cup for somebody that
I'd like to hear from everybody.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Right, okay, all right, you're not taking my advice. I
think you should have ordered it. That they wouldn't have
been on the menu if it was that big.

Speaker 7 (17:49):
Of a burden.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
But indeed, Yeah, but I'm still curious. I need to
hear from the people. Boots on the ground here, all right,
all right, or boots in the air eight seven nine
eight one send us a talk back with our iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (18:01):

it easy for you.

Bagel with cream cheese, one would think, man, that does
sound good. But your go to bagel flavor, Lucas plain.

I like plain bagels, but if I'm really in the mood,
I like blueberry babels.

Okay, are you toasting it, Lucas? Are you going straight
out of the bag that's the question.

Speaker 8 (21:47):
Oh, I always toast my bagels. I always toast my bagel.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
Don't toast their bagels.

Speaker 2 (21:51):

Speaker 8 (22:22):
I know thatfast?

Speaker 7 (22:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (22:24):
