Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on demand.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
It's Ben e King at six point twenty here on
ninety eight point one The Breeze. It's The Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Court in time now for the Morning
Breeze Brain Teas sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in
clean hands with Mike Counsel Plumbing. Visit them in mc
plumbing dot com. The Morning Breeze Brain Tease teases the brain,
yes right there in the name, and causes us to

(00:26):
learn something about forty percent of people say this is
something you should never do at a sporting event.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Okay, let's see what you think. Eight seven seven nine
eight one oh ninety eight one. That's how you reach
us with your guesses. Corey in San Francisco, Good morning,
What is your guess?

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Propos proposed?

Speaker 1 (00:44):
You know what? I love a proposal at a sporting event.
It is my favorite thing.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
I think it's cue too, but I wanted to say
that it's gonna happen to me.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
So I'm like, Nora, oh yeah, have you told your
boyfriend like I don't want you to propose to be
at any sporting event? Or is that a conversation you
can't have.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Honestly, we've never really had that conversation.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
But my vibe is when we've seen it happening, is
like kind of sending an unwritten message.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
But I don't think he would do that anyway.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Well, what you never know? Oh I can't. If you're
gonna stay it on the radio.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
If he's listening, he knows now.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Oh yeah, that's true.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Oh that's funny though, funny but not the correct answer.
All Right, Corey, we'll have a good day. Thanks for calling.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
All right, thank you so much. Have a good day.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Go right. All right, Donna in Fremont, what do you
think the answer is?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Yell at the players, chance at the players.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Oh yes, Donna, you are correct, that's it.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Yeah, Oh my god, oh my god, nicely done.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
You were in a little bit of a d.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Oh my gosh. Now what made you come up with
that answer?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
You know, I just want sports on TV, and I
just see it happening.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
I always get embarrassed when I see it happening. When
you're like around people who are heckling the players, you're
just kind of it's kind of it's cringey. You're just yeah,
you're doing.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yeah, it is cringey, like be better than that, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
It's not cool.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Well, thank you for talking with me.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Well, thank you for calling and playing and look what happened.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
You won.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Well you two have.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
A wonderful day.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Okay, thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Bye, okay bye bye?

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Oh go ahead.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
No, I was going to say, it's interesting again when
you're at those sporting events and the the heckling is
going on. Yeah, and it's just there are some sports
though that where I feel like it's appropriate.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Yes, But I want to get back to the proposal
because we have a special guest in studio this morning.
That's right, Carl, who works with us at the San
Francisco Giants or works with me. He is our director
of the show with the Giants. So you are a
lot of times the brains behind the marriage proposals that
you see at the San Francisco Giants games. How do
you feel with those proposals?

Speaker 2 (03:03):
They give me a lot of anxiety? Is it because
you're not sure if she's gonna say yes? That's part
of it. That's part of it.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Do you know before the proposals if the people at
the Giants games are going to say yes or no?
Like I guess you don't know because they haven't been.
But is there any inkling at all? Like, does everybody
think the person they proposed to with those games is
going to say yes?

Speaker 2 (03:26):
That's always the assumption, But there's that like look of like,
I don't know people, have you ever had somebody say no?
Not yet? Okay, we're making bets on when it will happen.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
What happens because when someone says yes at a Giant's game,
we always play like isn't she lovely? By Stevie Wonder
And everybody's applauding, and there's a graphic that says congratulations
and so and so, Like what if they were to
say no? What would we do? Trombone? Yeah, they're ready

(03:58):
for everything, I know, but that would be the saddest day.
But Carl is here, and it's a happy day for
us to say, but also a pretty great day I
think for everybody. I think I think the crowd would
almost enjoy that more. You guys, do not put that
into the universe. All right, it's the morning Breeze brain tease.
We do it every weekday morning here at six twenty.

(04:19):
You can reach us at eight seven, seven, nine.

Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court every weekday morning at
this time, we do ask Us Anything, And like we

to ask us any question that's on your mind, no
matter how big or small. We've had people call in
with super random stuff, which is always fun.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
The one thing I would still love to have happened
during ask Us Anything is for somebody to call in
and have us settle a debate.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Oh, let us have the final say. We had a
couple call in once and ask us to settle a debate.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
I think they asked for our opinion. But I but
I want to be able to say no, this is
the answer and they have to accept it no matter what.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Like some power this morning. So if you could call
in and let court settle a debate for you eight
seven seven nine, when you can always send us a
talk back with our free iHeartRadio app. Just push that
microphone button.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
All right, Sandra in Oakland? Ask us anything.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
What is your go to topping on an English muffin
or a bagel?

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Hmm, oh well love this question or a bagel? I
go right to the English muffin. I think no. If
I can have any topping in the world, I'm going
peanut butter with honey on a warm toasted bagel has
to be Thomis's very specific. But a bagel, cream, cheese, cheese.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
What if it's a like a If it's like a
what a blueberry bagels, you can have it.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
I don't want fruit in my bread. Wown, it's not
my jam.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Okay, what about jam?

Speaker 1 (06:23):
No?

Speaker 2 (06:23):
No jam on that.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I want the candy. I want the peanut, butter and
honey for me.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
An English muffin was invented only to have butter on it.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Oh, it was.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Like those little crevices and no, yes, it was designed
to absorb that butter. That's all you need on. It's
just so if.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
We go out to eat and somebody puts an English
muffin in front of you, and that you've got all
these choices. You've got cream, cheese, you've got butter, you've
got honey, you've got peanut butter jam. Right, you're like, I'll.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Just only putting butter on that thing. I but I
will say you because you know English muffins. It's it's
breakfast time. Yeah, I will put egg. If I've got
like a like some egg, andy, I'll put some egg
on it.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
If you ever made English muff and pizzas for dinner,
take English muffin. Okay, you go get yourself a jar
of that fancy rag goo stuff.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
So look for the bottom at the bottom shelf at
the garfert store, bottom shelf Rago nine.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Then you put rag goosece on. You put rag goose
sauce on the muff and by the way, you haven't
cooked the muffin yet, you're just building your pizza. Then
you put your toppings, your cheese, one pepperoni, yeah, maybe
two if you overlap and you bake it in the oven.
Don't knock until you try it, everybody, that's good. I
love pizza so much I would need like ten of
these in order. Yeah for me, that's okay, okay, all right,

(07:44):
there's can get twelve out of a Thomas's.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
I think I've just planned dinner for frist down bottom shelf.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Anyway, Sandra, great question, and thank you. I hope you
like the answer.

Speaker 2 (07:57):

anything breads, we would love to answer your questions eight

are they getting ready for the holidays and they do
it right, but they are celebrating seventy years at the
Disneyland Resort.

A call eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one or hit the talkback button on our free
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
So we've got VICKI in Napo. You did the Alzheimer's
Walk in Fairfield over the weekend. So how did it go?

Speaker 3 (09:05):
It was wonderful. There was about five hundred people there.
It was beautiful. It was a beautiful look walk, great enthusiasm,
just great feeling. Everybody was there for the same regions.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
You know.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
You know, I've hosted a lot of these walks, and
every time we get to the promise ceremony, which is
where we asked people to raise their flowers, the purple
represents one thing, you know, and it's like every time
I can barely get through that part of the ceremony
without crying. And you look into the audience and everybody's
crying because everybody like you is there for a reason

(09:39):
and so passionate about the cause.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Yes, it was a great It was fantastic, and even
a news station out of Sacramento film some of it,
and my friend and I we actually got to be
in the video that they showed on their on their website.
You know, they had a thing and we got to
be on there and holding our flowers and getting ready

(10:03):
for their walk.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
What a special day, Vicky. I'm so glad you were there.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Be too.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Gonna do it again next year.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Good good, And I appreciate you calling us and letting
us know how it went, because there were, you know,
several of them this past weekend and we were certainly
thinking of you. So we're glad that it all went well.
And thanks for checking in this morning.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Okay, thank you guys. Have a great day you too.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
All right, Vicky, take care bye.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
These walks are are so important, I think for a
couple of reasons. Is a you're raising money for research,
but also just to build that sense of community. You
get there and realize that you're not alone as you've
been absolutely going through what you've been going through with
family members.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yes, yeah, and raising awareness certainly for the cause. So
in the Alzheimer's Association does, especially Northern California, they do
an incredible job and.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
There are still some walks to be had. Sure, San
Ramon has won this weekend, so they continue and we
highly recommend that. You know, if you can participate and
want so, you can.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Absolutely go to their website. Yeah, and if you've got
a brighter side for us, you can call us with
anything that you know makes your heart happy. That's what
this is all about. Eight seven seven nine eight one
oh nine eight one. Sometimes people email us their brighter sides.
Sometimes they send them with our talkback on our iHeartRadio app.
You could certainly do that as well, and.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Be sure to join us in about an hour eight
oh five. It's your next chance to win tickets to
the Disneyland Resort.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
I know our winner yesterday morning was so excited. I
know Tony's winner yesterday afternoon was excited. These are four
tickets for the Disneyland Resort as they're celebrating the holidays.
Nobody does it like the Disneyland Resort. And you couple
that with the fact that it's their seventieth anniversary. That's
right huge, So be here at eight o five and
four oh five every day this week your chance to

(11:48):
win those tickets. Right here on the Breeze. It's John
Lennon seven twenty six. It is the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court and every weekday morning at this time,
you know, we do more, you know, and it's sponsored
by our friends at the San Francisco Symphony. And today
we're talking scary movies.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah, believe it or not, there are a bunch of
scientists that get together and they wear lab coats and
they I'm assuming that they wear as the lab coats
talk about movies and talk about movies and scientifically study
people watching movies because they wanted to figure out what
is the scariest movie of all time?

Speaker 1 (12:25):
How would you feel about watching a scary movie and
having a scientist stare at you bard time it's already
scary enough.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Yeah, okay, well hopefully they can do it, you know, obscure, obscurely.
So you've got to be in that moment watching these movies.
So obviously when you're watching when if somewhere to ask you,
what's your favorite scary movie, Carolyn, your answer.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Is I don't watch movies, okay, And also if I
did watch movies, no, that's not true. I've watched a
couple movies, but none of the above. I do not
like scary movies. And that is because what's one of
Freddy Krueger Nightmarre on Elm Street? A slumber party at
Julie Shelton's house back in the day, and she put

(13:07):
that movie on and that did it for me. I've
been out ever since.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Well, once upon a time.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
That's interesting.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
You bring up a Nightmare on Elm Street that was
considered one of the scariest movies all time based on
the criteria from this group of scientists.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Could have told you without the study.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Yeah, but again, it's pretty subjective when you just ask
the average man the street. So they wanted to figure
out the scientific, the psychological reason for a scary movie,
and they basically look at beats. Permit it, your heart rate,
what happens to your heart while you're watching these movies.
And they have determined that the movie Sinister from twenty
twelve is the number one most scary movie of all time.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
You I've never even heard of this. Have you seen
this movie?

Speaker 2 (13:48):
I may have seen it my daughter, Quinn, my oldest daughter,
is into scary movies, and I don't know where it
came from, and so sinister, I think she's watched that.
But that is the number one rank the scariest movie
based on twenty two scientific data. Okay, in fact, I'm
looking at the top ten here, and I'm not going
to go through all these. But the oldest movie is
from in the top ten is from two thousand and five,

(14:10):
The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Heard of that, but yea no thing.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
So if you look at if you look at the
bigger list, it's really interesting. The oldest movie it is
from nineteen eighty four. A Nightmare on Elm Street comes
in twenty fifth. It's all the way down at twenty
twenty fifth. I would like to talk to these. Everything
else is a movie that's come out within the past
fifteen years.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Yeah, I'm looking on our page. I saw you put
this question on our page, what's your favorite scary movie?
And there's a there's Exorcist, the Shining, The Shining, I've
seen that one. That one's scary, Silence of the Lambs,
Dave said, pramstroke Stoker's Dracula.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yeah. Is Hocus Pocus scary? I don't on there.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
I might have some scary moments. It's more like share
in that or somebody or Bettman, Larry, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Yeah? Sorry, Share, I'm sorry Betts, but it is a
Halloween classic. I can say my lane, I think, I think.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Right, Carolyn, you can handle the hocus posts.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
I don't want I know, but this is good to
note sinister sinist movie the scary according to scientists, that's
a good the more you know, love it. We do
it every weekday morning at seven twenty five, join us
and you can call us anytime eight seven seven nine
eight one oh nine eight one And.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Join us at eight oh five this morning your next
chance to win those tickets to the Disneyland resort as
they both celebrate the holidays and their seventieth anniversary celebration.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Yes, we are doing this every day this week. Listen
at eight oh five and four oh five your chance
to win those tickets. Here on the Breeze, let's share
with Peter Sitera a song you will hear only on
the Breeze. It's after all, it's eight oh eight The
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court, how excited are we
for Peter from San Ramon, who was equally excited to

(15:59):
be going to the Disneyland Resort.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Yeah, Peter just picked up two excume, let me start
this over. Not just two, but he picked up four
two day, one park per day Disneyland Resort tickets, which
we're super excited for you. Peter. The holidays, by the way,
begin November fourteenth of the Disneyland Resort, and we hear
at the Breeze want to make your holidays magical with
a visit to the Disneyland Resort to celebrate seventy years
of magic. So here's the deal. Your next chance to

(16:24):
win happens later this afternoon at four oh five. Yeah,
but we'll have another chance tomorrow same time at o five.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
And Peter was telling us he's taken his wife, he's
got his kids, like this is perfect. It sounds like
four tickets were perfect for him. So we are happy
for you, Peter. You know, I was texting with a
friend of mine the other night, Court and I had
a realization about our friendship, and I wonder if you've
done this with your friends as we are getting older.
So I've known this friend for over thirty years. We

(16:51):
text almost every day, and we're texting, I realize about
our wordal and connections scores, the games you play on
your phone, and I was thinking about, you know, we're
texting like, oh, wasn't that wordle so tricky? Today? I
had the hardest time. Yeah, I thought the word was
ideal and then it was blah blah blah, Like it
was the most ridiculous conversation because I realized thirty years

(17:13):
ago we'd be texting like, hey, it's a Tuesday, let's
go out and like make a night of it and
get into some trouble or whatever. And now, without me
even realizing, we are texting about our wordles.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Score, which which if you did take it back, it's
the equivalent of a Crosswood word puzzle. It's thirty years ago.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Yes, it's like a word game on your phone, as
is connections. And then she plays strands and we're talking
about I mean, it's like, but this happened without even
realizing it happened.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
It's the evolution of a friendship and also life getting
getting older.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Have you had that happen with any of your friends though,
like that, maybe you grew up with your childhood friends
or high school friends, and now you have conversations where
you say to yourself, when did this happen? That we're
talking about weather or something that broke in your house
that you just fixed and repaired. That's that's one hundred
percent of my conversations with people these days. Or you're
sore when you get out of bed in the morning,

(18:11):
you're like, man, I really got some aches and pain
being a witch my back really? Oh yeah, oh need
to do more stretching.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
I think I do work on that. Core Yeah, I
know it's a total sign of just getting older, but
these are the more important things in life.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Well, and here exactly, and here is what is important.
Is I'm okay with these conversations. It's like, I'm fine
that this is what my life is morphed into the
fact that you're still having a daily conversation with a
friend from thirty years ago. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Is that's the important that's the takeaway. Doesn't matter what
you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Thank you, Corey. We're at eight seven seven nine eight one,
nine eight one, coming up at eight point fifty this morning.
Stay here because we are going to be commercial free
to start your work day.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
That's right, ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial, free, relaxing favorites,
and we'll kick that off at eight fifty here on
the Morning Breeze
