for the Morning Breeze Brain teas sponsored by My Counsel Plumbing.
You are in clean hands with My Council Plumbing. You
could see them online at mc plumbing dot com. I
think today's question is tricky.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
You think it is. I cannot come up with even
a guess for this one.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
All right.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
The average American household spends about five hundred dollars a
year on this, whether they want to or not.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Okay, I can't wait to see what people think. Eight
seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one. We
got a bunch of people calling this morning. Tony in Oakland,
you're up first. Thank you for listening, by the way,
we so appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
I got to listen to you guys, and this show
just continues to get just eighta more wonderful, every days
greatest compliment.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
All right, So let's get back to business here. I know,
but I could, Tony. We could talk to you all day. Compliments.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Tony, what do you think the answer is toilet paper?
Toilet paper.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I gotta do the math here, I was I think
court spends more. What is that supposed to be.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
It's just a we've been working together a long time now, Yeah,
and I just know your habits.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Wow again, I don't know what you're talking about, what
you're inferring. Yeah, toilet paper is one of those things.
It's one of those necessary things. And sure you have
to pay whatever you got to pay, especially if there's
a brand that you really like.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I feel like toilet paper is more than what's a year,
though it probably is.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I haven't looked at my toilet paper bill lately. I
get my toilet paper at the grocery outlet by the way,
me too, bargain market everything in the store. You see
them online at grocery outlet dot com. Okay, is not
the answer toilet paper as necessary as it is not
the correct answer today.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
My reaction as well, Tony took the words right out
of my mouth. All right, have a good day, you
take care okay.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
By Tony Cedric and san Mateo. What do you think
the answer is? Carpet cleaner, carpet cleaning.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Well, what a random guess?

Speaker 1 (02:20):
You get your carpets cleaned once a year.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Oh, we actually do ourselves.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah, okay, Oh see, you know I just looked at
my carpets yesterday and I was like, is this I
have like the white well you've seen it?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
I called you. I called your house cozy my same
as tiny Cedric backed me up on that. Anyway, I
noticed that my carpets are getting a little bit Yeah,
they could probably use some attention. Did you observe that
one did not notice?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
I did not notice anything about your carpets other than
just that your house was lovely and cozy.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
There it is again. Okay, is the answer carpet cleaner.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Carpet cleaning. No is not the right answer. Correct answer.
The average American household spends five hundred dollars a year
on junk fees, whether they want to or not.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Just junk fees. Junk fees like getting rid of stuff
like junk. No, it's like junk fees.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
If a lot of times it's on your cell phone bill,
it's on your just your power bills, then they're called
junk fees. And I know oftentimes like the government tries
to get rid of them, but they're not doing very
good job. I never heard of that one yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Wow, I love you guys. You guys, Cedric, can.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
You need some higher standards?

Speaker 4 (03:27):
I don't think Sobbing, I think you get the perfect
right where you are.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Oh that's yeh.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Court's pretty great.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Hey, Carolyn's pretty great.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
A big hug. All right, have a good day, Cedric.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Alright, are you too?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
All right? Bye?

Speaker 1 (03:41):
All right, it's the big glove fest here on the
morning Breeze.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
No, I love that. Never too early for that. All right,
it is the morning Breeze brain teas. We certainly invite
you to play along every weekday morning right, this time,
it's six twenty here on the Breeze.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
And here's something I don't think we can talk about
enough because we get a lot of questions about this. Hey,
morning breeze, Carolyn. And in court, do you have more
Disneyland resort tickets?

Speaker 3 (04:02):
I get questions about this outside of the office. How
do I people?

Speaker 2 (04:06):
How do I win these tickets? Sliding into my DM?
Should I start calling it exactly eight oh five?

Speaker 3 (04:11):
We did have that question yesterday when when we tell
you to call, because sometimes it's like eight oh four
or eight five and a half long song eight oh
five and a half or ye six but yeah, you
wait for us and Tony who's doing it in the afternoon,
to tell you to call. We do it every weekday
morning at eight oh five, and then Tony does it
at four h five four tickets for the Disneyland resource.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
That's right. The holidays are around the corner. They're also
celebrating seventy years in the park. So join us at
eight oh five this morning. Your next chance to win.
Here on the Morning Breeze at Birth Breeze. It's Michael
Bolton here on ninety eight point one The Breeze at
six po forty. It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Court and it's that time of the show where it's
shaped by you.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Ask us anything aped by you?

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Is that not a way to say it?

Speaker 2 (04:58):
It's a great way to say it by I bring.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
That up because you control the subject matter with your questions.
You call us with your questions eight seven seven nine
eight one, maybe you email them or d d M
them to us. You can also send them as a
talkback using our free iHeartRadio app. Definitely a lot of
ways to reach out to the show. We have Clarence
in San Jose on Hold Good Morning Clarence, I have

(05:22):
a question.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
All right, Okay, what's something about working in a radious.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Station that most people would not expect?

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Oh, something working in a radio station most people wouldn't expect.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
I've got one, which is uh, people always think that
we have access to free tickets all the time.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Good one, and we don't, oh, go to.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Our all right, here's here's another one. The wheels are
coming off. People always picture us as being really dressed
up and professional, which we aren't.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
I'm wearing a hoodie and my most casual shoes. Like
just I'm just like I almost like I rolled out
of bed and a hat. I always wear a hat.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
No, you always look you always look good. Court.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
I think you and I look better than other people
in this building.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Okay, well, Clarence, we're gonna call it right there because
we never know sure.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
It is not wrong.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Good one, all right, Clarence, love it. Have a good day.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Thank you, you did say goodbye.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
I could spend hours on the phone with Clarence answering
that question, because there are so many things that people think.
Like another thing is that a lot of people think
like we just picked the music as we go along,
like oh, I feel like playing Dancing Queen by Abba
coming up next. Sure, Yeah, I mean I do, but
we are scheduled already.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
No, that's been scheduled already. So in the old days
of radio, you know, DJs would come on and they'd say, hey,
I feel like hearing led Zeppelin today, and on would
be you know, I'm go led Zeppelin.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
But it just doesn't work that way.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
That's also back when DJs were saying, we're told, hey,
we'll get we'll buy a new boat if you just
play our record all the time.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
That's true. Times have definitely changed. But that was a
great question, and that is exactly how ask us anything works.
Thank you again, Clarence. We're at eight seven seven nine
eight one, nine eight one. Any question on your mind
could be about the show, could be about our lives,
could be about you know Court mentioned I think yesterday,
like maybe you're having a debate at home with the

(07:22):
kids and you.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Need another repeater opinion.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
That's why we're here, So call us, send us a
message with our iHeartRadio app plenty of ways to get.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
A hold of us.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
That's right, and be sure to join us later in
the show. Eight oh five when we have more tickets
to give away to the Disneylanders, or in fact, you're
first chance of two today to win eight oh five
and four oh five.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Yes, yes, they are celebrating seventy years at the Disneyland Resort,
seventy years man and they're also celebrating the holidays where
they do the best job of the holidays. So eight
oh five your next chance to win those tickets. Here
on the Breeze, It's Steve Perry seven oh four The
Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord, and it is time

(08:02):
for the Brighter Side. This is where you call us
and you tell us about something good that's happening in
your life that you think people other people listening here
in the Bay Area will hear this and go, that's
a really cool thing. This is going to be a
great day. Like if it puts a smile on your face,
I guarantee it's going to put a smile on someone
Race's face. Brighter Side sponsored by Shrieving Company, Luxury time Pieces,
fine Designers and Flawless Diamonds. You can reach us at

(08:24):
eight seven seven nine, eight one oh nine eight one.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Jessica in Calistoga. Tell us what you do for a
living and where do you listen to us?

Speaker 4 (08:32):
I'm a mobile subottomist, so I listen to in many
city So I usually start out in Santa Rose, that
work my way down Morendo, San Francisco, back around and
napp and now I'm in Calusnoga.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Oh my gosh. Do you like being on the road
and driving all over the Bay Area to do that job?

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Oh? I love it. If you look at my Facebook
this point, I got to see the Big Dipper with
so bright and beautiful.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
That's cool.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
What an interesting gig that you're a mobile phlebottomist. Instead
of like you know, sitting in an office or a
lab or a doctor's off all day having patients come
in one after the other, you get to go out
and go Are you going to see seniors?

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Is that why you're mobile?

Speaker 4 (09:06):
No, I'm actually not a shoulder and adults. That just
it's people. The labs to become so ridiculous because of
Providence in all their outpatient labs, bus and laps were
over and dated. So to get in for a fasting
chest is like a month and a half out. So
I get to go to the homes and meet great
people and draw blood for all different ages and instead

(09:29):
of doing seventy five patients in the day, I do
call this a month. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
I remember years ago my wife and I were getting
like health not health insurance, we were getting life insurance,
and we had to have a blood test, and so
they came to the radio station. We were working away,
and I just remember getting blood drawn in a in
a studio like this is weird.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Such a trip.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
It's normal now.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Yeah, you guys will go anywhere.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Yeah, it's the really great service that we offer.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
That's that's awesome. Well, I'm glad you love your job
so much. That's wonderful. And you got to see the
Big Dipper this morning, so what's not to allow winn
a good day?

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Right?

Speaker 3 (10:08):
So cool, Well, enjoy your day, drive safe. Thank you
for having us on while you drive around town. We
really appreciate it, all right.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
If you've got a brighter side, then we would love
to hear from you. You can call us eight seven
seven nine eight one nine eight one, or if you
think you can give us your brighter side in thirty
seconds or less, use the talkback feature on our free
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
And coming up in less than an hour from now,
eight oh five this morning, your next chance to win
those tickets to the Disneyland Resort.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Yeah, we're just around the corner from the holidays. Plus
they're celebrating their seventieth anniversary and we would love to
pick up the tab for the tickets.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Obviously, people are having a great time winning this week,
so we hope you're next be here at eight oh
five your chance to win those tickets on the Breeze.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
It's Aaron Carmon. Let me try that again. It's Eric Carmon.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
I thought you said Aaron. I'm like Iron Carmin.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
I think I said Eric, but I might have combined
the name, Yeah Carmen, so it came out as Aaron Carmon.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
I love Aaron Carmen when he says that song so much.
Take three, it's Eric Carmen here on ninety eight point
one of the Breeze. You've got the Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Cord and it's time for us all to
collectively learn something together, because not only should learning take
place as a as a child, it can certainly happen
as an adult. We call it the More You Know,
and it's sponsored by.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
The San Francisco Symphony.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Okay, So the term this morning that I was wondering
if you're familiar with, is Hubson's.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Hubson So this is like hub sons.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Yes, if you're a mom with boys in particular, I'll
be curious to know if you love the idea of
Hubson's or you don't. Hubson is the new term for
adult men who moved back in with their moms. Think
husband and son. Okay, gotcha, all right, So the boys
move back in. I guess they're men at this point. Sure,
they move back in with mom because they've had maybe

(12:02):
issues with work, like they're burned out at work, or
the housing market is crazy, everything's expensive, they've got job burnout.
Maybe they want a safe and secure environment. So they
call mom and they say, hey, how about I move
in because I'm having difficulties, but I want to help you.
I'm going to help you around the house. I'm going
to take on some domestic responsibilities like cooking and shopping

(12:25):
in yard work.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Is Dad out of.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
The picture at this point?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I'm not sure where dad is. He was not involved
in this study.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
I did do.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
I scanned the story for a search for dad. He
was not mentioned. Now that doesn't mean Dad's not there
to each his and her own with their families. But
dad was not mentioned here. So that's what they're calling
is hubsns, And a lot of moms really like it.
They say, we we love that our son is moving
home and he's able to help me around the house,
and saying that it's a relief to have some assistance

(12:56):
with a chore. So I'm going to assume Dad might
be on the picture. I'd like to hear from these
people and hear what your story is. But yeah, I mean,
I'm kind of curious. You guys have girls.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Yeah, I'm a girl dad, So I guess it would
be like a wife wife for I don't know what
you would The combination here would be water. Yeah, water.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
It's not as easy as the Hubson's sounds much better.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
No, I mean this is it's interesting to think about
because I think more and more, uh like, families are
becoming multi generational for a lot of different reasons. Sometimes
it's cultural, sometimes it's because of economic reasons. Absolutely, and
it sounds like this is why that's happening. Is it's
more economics for the most part. But my wife and
I have always said, like the idea of our girls

(13:43):
living with us forever. We're right now, Like heck yeah, oh,
you would say, yeah, yeah, I like I want my
girls to go out and have lives and enjoy the world.
But the secret part of me is just like, I
hope they never ever leave.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Well, I hope they're listening to this because you may
have roommates life.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
If they do you decide to never leave, then they
really need to step up and start doing some things
around the house.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yeah, well, that's the thing, because I was thinking about,
like my mom. Let's say my mom still lived at
home and one of my brothers, because I have three
younger brothers, one of them said hey, Mom, we're they
going to move them back in the biggest eye roll, Yeah,
my mom would be like, no, you were not, because
I think the boys just I'm speaking for my brothers.

(14:25):
I think at first they'd say, Oh, we're totally going
to help around the house, right, We're gonna do this,
and we're gonna do that. And it would last for
one day if that that's and then my mom would
be stuck in this situation. Now that's where the Hubsons
does not work for Yes, for the mccardal family, definitely not.
But wondering, like how you feel about this? This is
a new trend. Do you think it's a good idea?

(14:47):
Bad idea? I mean, I say to.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Each their own.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Yeah, eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one.
You can send us a message with our iHeartRadio app.
Just use that talk back mic. That's a great way
to reach out to us, to get in touch.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
And don't forget, we're just about a half hour away
your next chance to win tickets to the Disneyland Resort.
We're going to hook you up with four two day,
one park per day Disneyland Resort tickets as they celebrate
the holidays.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
They're celebrating the holidays, and also they are celebrating the
seventieth anniversary of the Disneyland Resort. So that party is
going to be massive and you could be a.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Part of it.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Be here at eight oh five your chance to win
tickets on the Breeze.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Hi, Good morning the Breeze. Who is this?

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Hi? This is Colleen.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Hey Colleen.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
When was the last time you went to the Disneyland Resort.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Oh, it's been a very long time. Maybe ten years?

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Well ten years? Jeez? Who would you take with you
if you won?

Speaker 4 (15:41):
I have four kids, so they would I'll be.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Going this help out a lot, hartainly would it would? Well,
congratulations you have won your collar twenty woo. Wow, thank
you so much.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
That's a great way to session morning.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
It is. How do you think the kids are going
to react when you tell though, Oh, they're going to
be so excited. Yeah, all of the year, totally. This
is Gray Colleen. Congratulations, Thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
Wow, thank you. I can't believe I.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Know we're I feel like I'm shocked with you, even
though I know you won, Like it's that weird, Like
I'm just as excited as you.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
You can't believe it either.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
We got four to two day, one part per day
Disneyland Resort tickets for you. The holidays begin November fourteenth
at the Disneyland Resort, and we want to make your
holidays magical with a visit to the Disneyland Resort because
you're going to be celebrating seventy years of happy they
do it right.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
Oh my goodness, thank you so much. This is so exciting.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Oh, I totally understand. And not to worry.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
We're going to do this again four oh five this afternoon.
Every day this week eight oh five in the morning,
four oh five in the afternoon, Disneyland Resort tickets.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Here on the breeze. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
I think it's fair to say we love giving these
tickets away as much as you love winning them.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Absolutely. Yeah, so fun.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
So I've got a little issue going on at the house, Carolyne,
I want to make you aware of.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Yeh.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
I'm just kind of a public service announcement just for
anybody that knows me, friends, family, just general folk on
the street. If you're if your kid is having a
fundraiser for school. I'm I've got too much popcorn in
my life. I've noticed this trend over the past couple
of months because we're about two two and a half
months into the school year and a lot of different

(17:27):
school activities groups and bands and you know, the different.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Groups that are you asking me to buy? Oh, I'm
just saying I'm not asking you to buy I'm.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Just saying that my my nephew who's in marching band,
and my and my cousin who's got a kid that's
on a on a soccer team, they've all they're all
doing these fundraisers, and for some reason, it's this popcorn
company that is now prevalent everywhere.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
That's interesting because my family it's wrapping paper.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
My niece and my nephew.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
We got the text the group tax months ago, which
I'm now realizing I forgot to respond to for government
rotation marks where they're selling wrapping paper. And you get
this wrapping paper and you've spent like twenty dollars and
it can wrap about one gift. Sure, right, there's so
little paper on the roll. So is the popcorn good?

Speaker 1 (18:18):
It's really good popcorn, and it's expensive popcorn, yes, city.
But it started with my brother who lives on the
East coast, and so I ordered this popcorn and I thought,
you know what, I'm going to be the good uncle.
And so I bought like a hundred bucks worth and
then and then next thing, and I think I'm good.
I'm good. I've done my part. And the next thing,
I know my niece and she's got kids.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
You've got seven other I've got seven siblings.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
And so I've got again, I've got popcorn coming out
of my ears.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
I feel free to bring that in.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
I want to be supportive, but I can't afford this.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
No, it's hard, and I think a lot of people
struggle with what you're struggle. I mean, look, I did
it with the wrapping paper. I've got three brothers. So
there are a lot of texts going around about fundraisers,
and I think anybody listening can relate to this. I
think it's a common I'm not going to say problem,
I'm gonna say situation.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Sure. So yeah, maybe maybe what I just needed is
I could look, I don't need popcorn, but here's twenty bucks.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Maybe that's a good idea too.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
That's at least something right.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
I mean, can you get the popcorn and bring it in? Thanks?

Speaker 1 (19:20):
I'll bring We've got the our on our kitchen table.
We've got a box full of this popcorn.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
I feel like every time we talk about something like this,
the listener reaches out and goes, I make the best popcorn,
Carolyn Court, let me get you this popcorn. Kathy brought
us the gummy bears. We've had ken bringing us gummy bears.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
It.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
But that is not why we're talking about popcorn this morning,
at least I'm not yeah saying sounds like Carolyn could
use a popcorn.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
No, no, no, no, anyway, all right eight seven seven nine
eight one nine eight one If you have any advice
for court, you can always send us a message with
our iHeartRadio app that talkback mic as well, and be.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
