of information?
Speaker 1 (00:37):
I feel like You're never going to run out of information, Court,
and we are so happy about that.
Speaker 2 (00:41):

Two people in this conversation have one, don't use it?
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Do you have one?
Speaker 2 (01:25):
I don't have one? No, Okay, I remember my grandpa
always whipping that thing out on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, that seems like a thing from the eighties. Is
that it?
Speaker 2 (01:31):
That's not it?
Speaker 1 (01:34):
All right, Susan, will have a good day, have a
great day. Okay, Edin Fairfield, You've got a guess. What
do you think in the answer.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
Is I'm gonna say a can opener just to go
out there.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Open a lot of cans these days come with the
pop top. You don't need to get that can opener out.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Are you getting pulled over?
Speaker 4 (01:51):
Uh no, there's an ambulance going by.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Get on the road, all right, As long as you're
not getting pulled over, we don't want any part of that. Nope,
But a can opener. Do you guys remember back in
the day when people had electric can opener.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
It was countermoun or under countermount underneath the cupboards.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
If you didn't catch that can right before it stopped opening.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
Now that you mentioned that, I think I have four
versions of a can opener, from the.
Speaker 5 (02:18):
Old hand crank style, oh yeah, to the electric battery
one or the battery one, then the plug in one yeah,
and then the one that will travel around the can
by itself. Oh yeah, but it was the one that
was on whatever network you know, you got to have
it now, you know, two for one sale.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I'm more of a QVC guy, but yes, oh.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
QBC, we're dating ourselves, I think so just.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
A little bit, I know, But I do love a
mourning full of can opener talk. I love the answer.
It's just not the correct answer today. What is the
answer to this question?
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Sixty four people say, even though they own it, they
don't use their fone China, So.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
It's gonna be Paulloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas? And how much
stuff don't you use that you fought to decorate the
house and just stays in boxes.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Now yeah too, well, and this is the time of
year that fine china could.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Make apparents Thanksgiving and Christmas typically in my house.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Yeah, but nobody wants to break it or clean it.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
That's exactly it. Ed Well said.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
You guys, just take care all right, Bye?
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Ed you bet bye.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
It's interesting we inherited my my wife's grandmother's china.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yes, I have my grandparents china as well.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
And you would be surprised to find that a lot
of these fine china places still exist today. And you
can find these old seventy eighty ninety year old lines
of fine china. We had a bunch of stuff missing
when we when we received it, and we were able
to go online and pick up some missing pieces.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
I had the opposite problem that I had this china
and I thought, I'm never going to use this. It's
just me and my tiny house. I'm never gonna host
your cozy house. Yes, yes, I'm never gonna host. I
should get rid of this stuff. I'll bet it's worth
the jillion dollars.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
It wasn't.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
It's not worth anything. Yeah, and I'm like, now what
do I do now? It's just sentimental values in my garage,
probably getting eaten by rats. So all right, on that
note Morning Breeze Brain Tease. We do it every weekday

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Two people?
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Do these two people have to be associated with each other?
Or these two random people?
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Random people like mine would be Abraham Lincoln and Elvis Sure, oh.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah, okay, that'd be pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Could they be people that you've met before that you
wish you could meet again, like a younger version of them,
like a grandparent.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yeah, grandparent, somebody like a star, pastor president?
Speaker 1 (06:02):
So court, what do you think?
Speaker 2 (06:04):
So for the obvious one that's coming to me would
be my great grandfather, who was an immigrant from uh
from Denmark. I never met him. He passed away before
I was born, but his influence was everywhere, Like my
great grandma talked about him all the time. All my
great uncles and all that talked about him all the time.
But I never met him. I would love to meet him.
(06:26):
Oh what about you?
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Mine's a little different. Mine would be Whitney Houston. Okay,
because I loved loved Whitney Houston and also Luke Perry
from Beverly Hills. The biggest crush on Luke Perry, like
sixteen by twenty poster on my wall. I was obsessed
with him. So that's somebody I would have liked to
have met too.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
It's pretty great.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Mine's more celebrity, but that's neate.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
I liked it now with Port, like you said, I
would like to meet my grandfather. He came over on
Ellis Island from Italy.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Oh my gosh, that is so the See I love
these two. Now Court you.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Oh yeah, I only give you want to give you
on my grand second one, I think I would want
to meet like a founding father like Benjamin Franklin or
George Washington.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Oh wow, I go. I'm just picturing Court sitting with
Benjamin Franklin. Would hang in just just ben boy. Yeah wow.
See that's a great question. I also like that she
asked for two Sure, who's the one person really made
you think? That was good? That's exactly how ask us
anything goes. We do it every weekday morning at this time.
(07:30):
If you have a question, you don't have to wait
till tomorrow. You can call us now eight seven, seven, nine,

in your life that does good things for others with

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
And this person could be a family member, it could
be a coworker, it could be just an acquaintance that
you met a few times over the years, but just
somebody in the Bay Area that's just doing good things,
not looking for recognition. But we're going to give it
to them anyway.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yes, with your help, So get those nominations in. As
I said, we make the announcement just after seven o'clock

Speaker 1 (08:29):

Speaker 2 (08:30):
We would love to hear from you eight seven seven
nine eight one nine eight one, or send us your
brighter side using the talkback feature on our free iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Lori and Nevado. Okay, so you said you've got a
story this morning that will put a smile on everyone's face.
What's your story.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
When I was a little girl growing up in her
mosta beach, I put out a kool aid stand on
the corner of our street, and I was selling root
and coot and raspberry for five cents. And so then
a policeman came by and he gave me a quarter. Well,
he told all the policemen her mouse Dungo in Manhattan
to come by. So all the policemen were coming by
giving me quarters or dollars, and my mom ran out, police,
(09:09):
don't arrest my child. She's just trying to have fun.
And here I am close to seventy. But whenever I
see then if I don't have casts on me, I'll
go to the bank and cast and I'll go by
there and I'll give them a ton of money, just
because it brings back so many of my son memories.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
That's so great.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
That's the nicest story. What a good soul you are,
do they What is the reaction from these kids, by
the way, when you give them all this money, are
they like They're just.
Speaker 6 (09:36):
Like, oh, oh no, that's too much money. And then
the parent will come up if I'm changed. I said no,
I don't watch it, and then I told him I
did that when I was a kid, and it just
it just warms my heart to see, especially nowadays, that
kids can go out and do this and feel safe.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Oh yeah, yeah yeah, and hopefully they'll grow up and
pay it forward like you did.
Speaker 6 (09:58):
Yeah, it would be the idea.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
That's the cutest story, just like the root and toot
and raspberry.
Speaker 6 (10:04):
Yeah, yeah, I know that go way back.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Oh that's so cute.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
My daughters did lemonade stands a couple of times. And
I remember one time they were making their sign and
they intentionally made the words. They spelled things wrong because
it's quote cute. Oh, they did it on purpose.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
They knew pretty cute.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
They knew what they were doing.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Is backwards.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
That's exactly what it was.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
Attention to you.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yeah, good marketing.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
That's good stuff, Lorie. All right, have a great rest
of your day. Bye Bye.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
I love that story so much because it really is
one of those like core memories you have as a kid.
It just carries on for the rest of your life.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Well and for me, when you mentioned the girls writing
the letters backwards or like screwing up the spelling on purpose,
it's one of those things where I feel like I
knew that they did it on purpose, but I didn't.
And now that you've said it, I'm like the to me.
All right, Laurie, thank you again. That was a great
brighter side. And if you've got one for us, call
us anytime eight seven, seven nine eight one oh nine
(11:09):
eight one. You can always send them if you can
summarize your brighter side in thirty seconds or less. Use
our talkback on our free iHeartRadio app as well, and.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Be sure to join us. Coming up at eight oh
five this morning, it's another chance to win a four
pack of tickets to the Disneyland Resort.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Yeah, so we are doing this every day this week
eight oh five and four oh five as they are
celebrating the holidays and also seventy years at the Disneyland Resort.
But we are doing it again next week as well. Right,
we are very excited about this, So be here at
eight oh five. That's your next chance to win on
the Breeze. It's Billy Joel just the way you are.
Morning Breeze Carolyn and Court seven twenty eight. Every weekday
(11:45):
morning we bring you at this time. The more you know,
sponsored by our friends at the San Francisco Symphony. Okay,
talk to me about dogs. My one of my favorite topics.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Of course, if you had to guess what one of
the number one reasons why people decide not to become
dog owners is what do you think it is.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Being tied to having a dog and not having freedom.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Sure, that's a big part of it.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Company excluded.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
I mean that that is a huge part of it,
and it may be the biggest but one of the
biggest determiners for people as they realize, oh, dogs smell.
Oh my house will smell because of the dog.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
Yeah, it does.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
And it's great to consider these things beforehand instead of afterward. Right.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
So there are some dogs for potential dog owners that
they can actually look at that are less smelly, and
some people would even argue they do not smell at all.
Certain certain breeds, and they're typically breeds that are are
considered hyperallergenic.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Oh, so they're like a poodle.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Like a poodle, the labradoodles, shitsuos Habnese, the carry blue terriers,
the Maltese. Now, they apparently all have some hyperallergenic qualities
and lack the dog smell.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
And they also I think most of those breeds not
only don't smell, but because of the hair that they have,
they don't have the shedding. They don't shed like other dogs.
Poodles don't shed typically, there's another benefit Golden retrievers. I
can tell you firsthand they do.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
And I can also tell you Chiwawas and regular terriers
all over the place they do.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
And boy do they get smelly, and that too, and they.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Get smelly, like almost immediately after you give them that bath.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
I know, I Perk got a bath last weekend. She
already stinks, so as you probably smell.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
I think you're more aware of it than anybody else,
because you will often be apologizing to me to other
people who come into the studio, Sorry, she stinks, she's
gonna get a bath.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
Suon.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
I never smell it. Granted I don't have the best smell.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
That does not make me feel better, but that means
you can't pay.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
But you know, as the saying goes, dogs be dogs. Yeah,
I know they're gonna smell like dogs.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
But I like this because if you are looking for
a dog and you're worried about that factor, now you
have some options.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Portuguese water dogs, by the way, I don't think I
mentioned this, is there another great option of Oh okay,
and Portuguese water dogs are cute.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
They're very cute. Okay, So now you know the more
you know. We do it every weekday morning here at
seven twenty five. Coming up in just over a half hour,
eight oh five this morning, your next chance to win
tickets to the Disneyland Resort.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
That's right, we're giving away four packs of tickets twice
a day, eight oh five and four oh five. Your
chance to go enjoy the holidays there as well as
celebrate seventy years of happy inside the Disneyland Resort.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Yes, it's gonna be so much fun. So'll be here
in eight oh five. Your next chance to win those
tickets on the breeze. It's the morning breeze. It's Carolyn
and Court. Congratulations, you did it. You are Color twenty
and you are going to the Disneyland Resort. Oh my god,
(15:09):
we are.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
I'll calling you in my household right now.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Everybody in the house is trying.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
It's a group effort.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
Oh my god, all of us. We've been trying like
we've got to make this happen.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
That's so cute. How many how many of you in
the house are trying on different phones right now?
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Four of us?
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Oh my god, what a team effort. Okay, so who
is this.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
I'm listening to you guys in Hayward. Very nice.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
It's perfect. Four people trying. Four tickets.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
That's right, Yes, it's four of us.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
Thank you, Yes, congratulations, You've got the four today.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
One park per day Disneyland Resort tickets. Nice job. The holidays,
by the way, begin November fourteenth at the Disneyland Resort.
Of course. We want to make your holidays magical with
a visit to the Disneyland Resort to celebrate seventy years
of magic. Nice job, Thank you.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
Team effort.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Definitely, absolutely a team effort. And don't forget we're gonna
have another chance with Tony coming up four oh five
this afternoon here on the breeze, and we've got more
Disneyland Resort tickets not only for tomorrow at eight o
five and four oh five, but every day next week.
We're gonna do it again here on the breeze.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Pretty exciting, I know.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
So.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Earlier today, Carolyn, I discovered something about you. I've known
you for a little over two and a half years now.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Yes, and it's been great, right, it has been. It's
so great.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Every day is an adventure. But sometimes I learned something
new about you. And today I discovered that you do
not as healthy of an eater as you are.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
I just ate candy corns.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
But yes, okay, I wasn't gonna bring that up. Okay,
you are are not a fan of fish like you.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Know we did.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
We were talking about that off the air this morning.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
I know, I was just I was just on the
so shocked by it, because most people, when you say
I don't eat fish, they're like, yeah, you don't eat out,
you don't eat the fishy fish. I've had shrimp, okay,
which is a shellfish fish. I don't even in my
mind think of shrimp as fish. And I know maybe
technically they are, but don't to me, they don't count.
I'm talking like fish. The scales, no, no, and you
(17:16):
have you have you eaten them and just didn't like it?
Speaker 1 (17:20):
You just I've never always avoid it. I've never tried it.
And I know moms always say don't knock un till
you try it, whatever that is. But nope, no, I
EA's a whole thing. It's a texture thing. It's like
the smell and I know it fish smells. It means
you shouldn't eat it, but like I can't.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Well, there's they're varying degrees, but like there are, there
are some less fishy fish like, for example, a good
king salmon for example.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Absolutely no.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
What about a halibit or a cod?
Speaker 1 (17:49):
No, court, No, there are plenty of people. Look, I'm
not a weirdo here. There are plenty of people that
they have a food that they've never tried, won't ever try,
never will.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
What about what about like a smoked salmon, because that's different,
it's smoked salmon, anything smoked?
Speaker 6 (18:07):
No?
Speaker 1 (18:08):
Really no, wow. And I'm it's not like I'm getting
any younger. I am set in my ways. You are
you are. You would be the one person that could
probably talk me into trying something new, and that is
something that you're not gonna win.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
That guy, I don't want to go on too long
about this because I was again, it's just shocking to
be but you have never had fish and chips, Oh.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Gosh, No, No, and it's dipped in like vinegar or something.
You can put vinegar on it, in a little spirt
of lemon juice. No, look again, Tartar Sauce, I am
not alone in this. There are people and they are
calling right now.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
They may they may also be calling because we just
gave away some Disneyland tickets.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
No, they're probably calling to say, Carolyn, you are completely normal.
Here's my food. Like, how many people out there listening
have never tried an avocado and they never will. I
I will go to the phones after this, all right, okay,
and I will tell them Disneyland tickets are coming up
in four or five, which is true. Coming up this
(19:07):
morning at eight point fifty, we go commercial free. Great
way to start off your day at work, that's right,
ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free, relaxing favorites. And
we'll kick that off at eight fifty here on the
morning Breeze
