Speaker 2 (00:13):

this time six twenty three to be exact, and it's
sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in clean hands with
Mike Counsel Plumbing. Visit them at EMC plumbing dot com.
Today's question. A majority of people say this is the
most relaxing household chore.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
All right, eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one.
We have a couple that wants to play this morning
nice which will be perfect. Kirsten and Leif in Fairfield,
Good morning. Okay, what is your guest for the brain tease?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Dusting?

Speaker 4 (00:47):
And that's the easiest one there is.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Wait, how much dusting do you do?

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Okay, lot, my wife owns a doctor. But if one
of those unnecessary.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
You just say my wife owns a duster.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yes she does.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
She has a little feather duster thing.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I'm going to help you out here. You both own
that duster.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Yeah, yeah, that's true.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
So dusting, you would say, is the most relaxing chore
that you rarely do.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Leave. Okay, I can't think of anything more relaxing than dusting.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Not really. It's like I don't really like doing dishes.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
So relaxing. Yeah, we're gonna lock it in at dust
at dusting with your feather duster. Yes, uh, the co
she loves so much dusting kind of could I guess
cut dustin could be relaxing. It's therapeutic, but it's not
the most relaxing. What is the most relaxing? Majority of
people say folding laundry is the most relaxing.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Household that way far surpassing dusting.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Yeah, hey, leave how much folding laundry?

Speaker 4 (02:00):
We do it weekly once a week?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
And this is we're saying, we like you. You're both
pulling that laundry. Yeah, okay, all right.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
When she's at work and I'm at home, I fold
all of the laundry. Nice spurs and mine, and then
vice versa. That kind of goes both ways.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
You know.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Fun fact, my mom, my dad, and my wife have
all taught me different techniques of folding clothes. Sure, for
my entire childhood, I would roll up the socks over,
but then my my mom's husband, Jeff and my mom,
they go, you know, that will stretch out the saw.
They taught me just fold them in half and put

(02:38):
them in the drawer.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
That is a very fun fact, a nice little sot
change change.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Yeah, I've changed my techniques even folding pants. My wife
showed me pull them in thirds instead of half, and
it's going to take up less.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Space in the drawer like that.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
She made it a fun little game for you so
that you enjoy folding.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Launching even Sure, there's a there's the proper way to
fold the third leaf.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
I will tell you this. When I got married, I
found out I was folding towels incorrectly. So I know
where you're coming from on this meow. Yeah, you were
taught how to fold towels. Towels owls should also be
folded into thirds like your pants.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Yeah, there were some smart women in your houses. All right,
you guys, thank you for playing. Have a great rest
of your day.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (03:25):

eight one.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
All right, Chuck and pleasant Hill, good morning. Ask us anything.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Do you guys eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
That's a random question.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
This is a this is a great question.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
I want to know where this is going.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Okay, let's answer first and find know why. Carolyn.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Not on the regular, but I love them.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Yes, you same answer. Not on the regular, but it's
one of my favorite things in the world.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Well, when you do that, does it Does the sandwich
stick to the roof of your mouth?

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Depends on if you're going with like a classic white bread.
If you're using like a whole grain, it's less likely
to do it.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Well. You know how to keep it from sticking to
the roof of your mouth. No, turn it over, put
the jelly side up.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Slip it around.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
I'm getting the visual flip it around, open face, PB
and J. Here it's talking an open face PP and
J back to back bread. Yeah, man, that still sounds
good though, I'm here for it. I knew it was trouble.
When do you eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? Came
out of the blue. I knew it was. We were
in trouble. All right, have a.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Good one, Thank you too, Love the show, Bye.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Bye, Chuck. It's ask us anything. We do it every
weekday morning at this time at six point forty. You
can reach us at eight seven seven nine eight one
nine one or send us a talk back.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
And that, of course is proof that you can call
in and ask us literally anything.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Peanut, butter and jelly. It was such a I will
not forget that question for.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
A long time. Here's another question you might ask yourself Hey, kay,
can I win more Disneyland Resort tickets? Answer is yes,
yes you can eight oh five this morning and then
again at four oh five your chance to win a
four pack of tickets to the Disneyland Resort. Here on
the Morning Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Court and Gloria Essephon. It's seven eight.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
And it's I'm for the Brighter Side. We do it
every weekday morning at this time. It's sponsored by shrieving Company,
Luxury time Pieces, Find Designers and Flawless Diamonds. And the
concept behind a brighter side is super simple, like we
just want to know what is happening in your life.
It is good that you think if you share your
brighter side with the Bay Area, you're going to make
someone else's day or put a smile on someone else's face.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
That's right. If it makes you happy, that's a brighter side. Yep.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
We're at eight seven seven nine, eight, one oh nine
eight one.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Good morning, Lwanda in Atlanta. Now we understand you listened
to the Breeze in Atlanta, but you actually recently visited
the Bay.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
So my husband and I were out there a few
weeks ago We went to Wine Country, Sonoma Valley, Napa Valley.
It was so beautiful my first time in San Francisco.
And I listened to you all live in the car.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Oh, whoa, that is so neat? Was that weird because
you're usually listening in Atlanta? So was it weird to
be listening to us live?

Speaker 4 (06:56):
No?

Speaker 3 (06:56):
I fell closer to you all. That makes it look
so cool.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Ye, that is so neat. We're so honored that you
came all the way from Atlanta out to the Wine
Country and you're like, you know what we need to
do while we're here, listen to the breeze.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Absolutely, did the Bay Area live up to expectations.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
It's surpassed my expectations. It was such a wonderful weekend.
It was just phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Wasn't Wine Country magical? Just like you hoped it would be?

Speaker 3 (07:23):
When I tell you, I literally need to put that
on my annual birthday celebrate this because it was so
It was really just a wonderful, perfect, laid back. It
was just we went to the to the Golden Gate Bridge,
you know, we do one of the bus tours. It
was just perfect. It literally was one of my favorite getaways.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
We nice.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
So glad you had fun.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah, thanks so much for calling in this morning.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Thank you so much for everything you do.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Bye from now, okay bye.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Tell us what your brighter side is. We would love
to hear from you, whether you send us an email
through our website at ninety eight when the Breeze or
you call us eight seven seven nine eight one oh
nine eight one. You can always send us a talk
back with our iHeartRadio app as well.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
And don't forget once again coming up this morning at
eight oh five, another shot to win those tickets to
the Disneyland resorts.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
It's hard for me to believe they are celebrating seventy years.
They have been around forever and they are just first
class all the way. You're going to have a chance
to be there. If you are here at eight oh five.
Your next chance to win on the Breeze, it's foreigner
at seven twenty seven. Here on ninety eight point one
the Breeze. You've got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Court and it's time for one of our favorite parts

(08:36):
of the show. We're talking about the more you know.
This is where we drop a little nugget of information
that you probably didn't know yesterday, but it might bring
you some joy to brag about later today.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
We allow you to take full credit for this. Sure, yeah,
you don't need to cite the source.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
And it's brought to you by the San Francisco Symphony.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
So Carolyn, tell me when you were younger, any childhood fears.
I remember being scared in the dark, like being by
myself in the dark, like in a house if it
was dark. Right, Yeah, that's a big one. That's a
common one. Are you still afraid of the dark? I
don't love it. Why? Well, nearly one third of American
adults are still scared of the dark.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Oh really, yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:17):
And in fact, here's something even more interesting. Men are
have higher rates of being scared of the dark than women.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I can't believe first of all, that I guess what
you're going to talk about, Like, we did not discuss this,
so I felt like I stole your thunder a little bit.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Not at all. It's obvious, but it's not because you
wouldn't think that a third of Americans are still afraid
of the dark, to the point where ten percent of
us sleep with a stuffed animal to comfort them and
twenty five percent of us still use a night light.
I have very vivid memories as a kid because I
grew up in a big house and we had a
basement and at night you'd walk through the basement hallway

(09:52):
and it would just be pitch black. You didn't want
to turn the light on. Yeah, and I would like,
I would get through that hallway and up the stairs
as quickly as I could, because I it felt like
something was following me.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Yeah, we had a basement in Illinois as well, and
I remember going down to that basement. You either have
a great basement that your parents have like tricked out
and it's become like a bar or a game room, sure,
or your basement is the storage room for all the
stuff your parents don't want to deal with and the
washer and dryer.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
So it was always so scary going down into the basement.
So maybe that's where my fear of the dark came from,
as did yours.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Yeah, well, my eyes were where our bedrooms were, but
it was just kind of it's a basement's traumatizing.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
You made me feel better though on this the more
you know that so many people are still afraid of
the dark, even as adults. Because I really thought that
was something that's just me.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
And I should point out that psychologists point out that
fear of darkness is evolutionary, like there's a reason why
humans are afraid of the dark because back when we
were cavemen, they kept us alive. But now, I mean,
you're fine. Why I were just afraid use a flashlight
just yet because in the dark, because you watched a
scary movie too too late in the night, and now
it's keeping you away.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Exactly, all right, It's some more you know. We do
it every weekday morning at seven twenty five. You can
reach us at eight seven, seven nine eight one oh
ninety eight one. If you're wondering if we have more
of those Disneyland Resort tickets, we do.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Of course we do the holidays happening at the Disneyland
Resort and the seventieth anniversary celebration.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Yeah, So be here at eight oh five and four
oh five every day this week your chance to win
those tickets. Here on the Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Court. We are so excited to be
giving away more Disneyland Resort tickets. Congratulations, you are our
first winner this week. You just picked up four tickets

Speaker 2 (11:38):

Speaker 4 (11:41):
Oh my wow.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Tried three years, here.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
We go it's paid off. Wow.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
That is awesome. Okay, So tell us who you are
and where you're listening.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
With Michael from a Nice Job. You've just won four
to two day, one park per day Disneyland Resort tickets.
The holidays begin November fourteenth, the day we want to
make your holidays magical with a visit to the Disneyland
Resort to celebrate seventy years of happy Thank your Court,
Thank you. We'll have your next chance to win coming
up at four five this afternoon.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
So I had a moment yesterday with my mom at
Carlton Senior Living in downtown pleasant Hill Court, and I
wanted to share it because it was not just funny,
but it was so cute as well. I'm sitting in
my mom's room with her yesterday and we're talking about
like random stuff, and she says, I do have a
question I need to ask you. Yeah, And I said yeah.
And my mom, by the way, for those of you

(12:32):
that don't know, my mom has dementia and she's in
a memory care community at Carlton Downtown Pleasant Hill so
a lot of our conversations are like tricky to understand.
Like I'm trying to I'm basically paraphrasing for my mom
right now. But she said, I need to ask you
a question. I said yeah, And she said, am I
going to live much longer? And that's like a loaded question, right,
because how do you answer that? I said, Mom, you

(12:54):
are healthy as a horse. You are fine. And you
know what her response was, She said, oh, good, because
I really like it here and I want to live forever.
Isn't that cute?

Speaker 2 (13:06):
That is cute.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
It was the cutest thing. And I had this moment
which I've had these moments before, but in that moment,
it was a moment again of I have become the
parent and my mom is the child, sort of like
it was just so innocent on her part, and I
felt like the you know, the more of mature adult
or the older adult that was like, you've got it.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Well, you know, it's it is kind of a changing
of position because I'm sure when you were a young,
young child and your mom was raising you, she had
moments where you started to say things that took her
aback that she thought were super cute. Have you girls
especially when the girls were younger, when they start to
develop personalities. Yes, and you hear things come out of

(13:45):
their mouth, there's like, where did that come from? It's
so bizarre and oftentimes super cute. Sometimes it's funny, and
sometimes it's just such a mature thing to say.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
I know, it's so cute, and it's just it's.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
It's awesome to watch things like that.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
It was a great moment. I'm glad you've had those
moments as well. But you can reach us anytime eight
seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one. You
could send us a message with our iHeartRadio app that
talkback microphone, and a reminder coming up a little bit
later this hour, we're going to be commercial free here
on the Breeze.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
That's right, ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free, relaxing favorites,
and we'll do that at eight point fifty here on
the Morning Breeze.
