Speaker 2 (00:19):
When it comes to money, dads are much more likely
to let their kids do this compared to moms.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Eight seven seven nine, eight one oh nine eight one.
Sue in San Ramon, Okay, so when it came to allowance,
your dad was more lenient.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
My dad was more lenient than my mother. For sure.
She was the boss.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yeah, she handled everything, the money, what you're gonna do,
what you're gonna wear.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
I mean my dad was just kind of in the background.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
He did whatever my mother decided in the house. Or
if you didn't want to ask your mom, you would
go to dad and say, hey, Dad, oh for sure,
can I get more?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Can I get an increase in my allowance?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
You'd start with Dad first because you get that automatic
yuse it's the easy one.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
That's smart too. Brings back lots of memories.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Doesn't it. Oh yeah, and that's a pretty reasonable guess,
but it's not the correct answer.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
I feel like she's really close tho. All right, Sue,
thank you for playing. Have a great day in a
good week.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Thank you so much. Have a great day you too, Sue.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Okay, bye, bye, Okay, Sheila in Union City, Good morning,
Happy Monday. What is your guess?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Spend more?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Spend more?

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I feel like that's totally true, right.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
My husband spends more, So I'm frivolous things. So I'm
guessing would let you? Would let our kids spend on
whatever they want?

Speaker 1 (01:35):
So you do have kids, Sheila.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yes, I have a seventeen year old and a thirteen
year old.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Oh this is perfect. So do you find that the
kids go to your husband more than they go to
you for money?

Speaker 3 (01:46):
They do?

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Yeah, see dad's easy dad. Yeah, that rolls over every time.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Right, right, real life scenario here, guys, you're the expert.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Well that's not the correct answer, although I think you're
You're probably correct, but not correct. Okay, yeah, right, but
but you're not you're not answering today's question properly. Again,
answer today today's question. When it comes to money, dads
are more likely to allow their kids to use their
credit cards compared to mom.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Oh close, right, yeah, Sheila, you were so close.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
I was so close. Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
That is the opposite in my house. Really, my girls
don't need my credit cards. But I found out the
other day that both of them have access to my
wife's credit cards.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Oh wow, those girls are so smart.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Hey mom, looking good, Mom. I love your hair.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
I wonder because you have girls and I have boys.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
See how it's oh yeah, something, Sheila, Carolyn. Well, Sheila,
have a good day and a good week.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Oh thank you. Guys have a great day.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Like, oh, it's so fun.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
I do have to say, though, when I discovered that
my my youngest daughter, Sloan, had my wife's credit card
in her it's part of her Apple wallet. Oh, because
she kept she had to pay for something at school,
and she kept saying, She's like, hey, should I just
put this on the visa card? And I'm like, oh, like, well,
you would need the visa card and she's like, no,
I don't, I've got it.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Like what, oh yeah, yeah, that's an awkward conversation. At
that point You're like, hey, it is hey, Randy, But
it was right.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Well, come to find out Randy didn't even know. Oh,
that's a whole different awkward conversation. So the conversation back
going back to Sloan's like, oh got it. Listen. Yeah,
it's okay, but you should probably have asked. I don't
know how your parents do it. I honestly don't by
the skin of our teeth. Yeah, we're at eight seven

(03:52):
seven nine, eight one, nine eight one. It's the Morning
Breeze Brain Teas and we play every weekday morning at
six twenty and twenty five, and we invite you to
join us.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
I would get six twenty five and six forty confused.
You know, there's one shirt odd and one that's an event.
It's a very difficult job, it is.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Especially especially on a Monday, Carolyn. Yeah, speaking of six
forty coming up, it's ask us anything, your chance to
call into the show and ask anything that might be
on your mind.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Yes, you can call us. You can send us a
talk back with our iHeartRadio app. Any question goes. We
will literally ask anything on the air, So give us
a call. We're going to do that at six forty
here on the Breeze.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Loreez. It's a relaxing favorite from Phil Collins. Here on
ninety eight point one The Breeze, The Morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court and it's six forty two. Time for
you to ask us anything. Maybe you've got a question
about how the stars are formed, or maybe you want
to know how to don't come to us keep your
house plants alive. Yeah, go for that, go somewhere else, Bob.

(04:48):
Or maybe you watch the Science Channel. But if you've
got just a basic question, like a get to know
you question, or get some advice on something, we would
love to hear from you. Eight seven seven nine eight one.
You can also send us your questions using the talkback
feature on our free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Yeah, that's when coming from Tom and Fremont, who says,
if you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would
that celebrity be? Okay, so I read this question first.
You're just hearing this now, so I'll go first. For me,
it would be it's kind of a group. It's a
group of girls. It'd be like Amy Poehler, Tina fey Maya,

(05:27):
Rudolph Right. The whole group of girls I think are hysterical.
I feel like we are sisters and we don't even
know each other. I would like to have dinner with
that group of girls. Wow, for sure, that's cool. I
couldn't narrow it down to one if I had to pick,
So you just go. If I had to pick, you
had to pick one, I want the whole group there.
How about you?

Speaker 2 (05:48):
As you know, this is no surprise, oh Bono, Well no,
that's just it because Bono obviously the lead singer of Youtwo.
I'm a huge YouTube fan, my favorite band, But like,
I feel like I get enough of to know what
how he's like. He does all of the interviews.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
And I feel like you know Bono already because you
basically stock him, So I feel like you already know
what you need to know that being so, it.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Would be somebody from you too. Would be Larry Mullen Junior,
who's the drummer and actually the founder of the band.
He's the guy who put up the note in high
school and said I'd like to form a band. Oh cool,
and he's he's like, you don't hear from him. He
hates to do interviews, but I think that guy's got
a story to tell.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
But Larry would love to have dinner with Court Johnson.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Yeah, he's a pretty healthy guy though, so as I'm
like chomping down on like a hammerger and French fries,
he's probably eating a salad something like that.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Yeah, so maybe you just go for coffee. Okay, But
he's your guy that you would like to That's why
I think that's cool. Good question, Tom. I wish we
could ask Tom, but since he emailed in, no, I
can't ask you.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
That's we should point that out. If if you are
sending your question in via email or DM, yeah, tell
us answer the question yourself because we would love to know.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
We want to know about you too.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Oh pardon the pun. Mondays, all right, we're at eight
seven seven nine eight one. Like Court said, you can
send us a question with our iHeartRadio app that talked
back Mike as well anytime.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
And a reminder coming up later in the show. As
you begin your work day at eight fifty, we're giving
you ninety eight minutes of NonStop commercial free relaxing favorites.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yep, we'll do that right at eight fifty to start
your day.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Here on the Breeze, Patrick Swayze here on ninety eight
point one The Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Court it's did you not like my dramatic pause?

Speaker 1 (07:37):
I thought you didn't know what to say after that.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
No, I was just was pausing for effect, just letting
it breathe a little bit. Okay, it's a Monday morning.
You guys got to ease everybody into what is the
morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. Yeah. Absolutely, I apologize
for scaring you. Carolyn. Uh. Seven oh seven is the time,
and that means it's time for the brighter Side, which
is essentially where we turn it over to you and
you tell us about the things that are making you

(08:01):
happy right now. It's even a chance for you to
brag a little bit if you like. That's okay, Yeah,
tell us what's going well in your life. Eight seven
seven nine eight one oh nine eight one The Writer
Side sponsored by Shreven Company, Luxury time Pieces, Find Designers
and Flawless Diamonds.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
I saw this story over the weekend. It has to
do with one of our Breeze artists, and as I
said a minute ago, kind of two because I'm talking
about Anna Nancy Wilson, a heart two of my favorite
people on the planet.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
And the Wilson sisters. If you will, yes, court.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
The Wilson sisters, I will and they were out dining
last week. I don't know where this is.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
I don't know the name of the restaurants, like the Applebee's.
The Wilson's sisters at the Applebee's, that makes sense. I
don't think it was an apple eating good in the neighborhood. Okay,
all right, story is never gonna I'm never gonna finish
the story. Or is a restaurant they were eating up?

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Do you want to do the story?

Speaker 2 (08:51):
I don't know the story. Go ahead.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
So the Wilson sisters last week, we're dining at a restaurant.
We don't know. I could tell you it wasn't not
in Applebee's in some other state. Anyway. This waitress was
waiting on them. She's twenty four years old. Her name
is Lily, and she said that the girls were wonderful,
no special requests, they were super polite. When they left

(09:15):
the restaurant, they left the bill on the table, like
any of us would like, fold it up on the table.
So Lily goes over. She opens up the bill. The
total bill was sixty one dollars. They tipped nine hundred
dollars on this bill. Wow, and they left a note
that said, thank you for your kindness and your smile tonight,
never forget how much you matter. This is God's money.

(09:36):
He gave it to us so we could give it
to you. Keep going, your dreams are worth it. Oh wow,
how cool is that?

Speaker 2 (09:41):
That's really great?

Speaker 1 (09:42):
This twenty four year old girl who then Lily starts
crying because she's been struggling with student debt, she's been
supporting herself, she's been just trying to keep her head
above water. And she said that while the money meant
so much, it was like the note that they left
it meant even more to her because she said she
just felt seen by them, which I thought was just

(10:03):
the coolest story.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
That's a great story.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Yeah, some customer in the restaurant, I guess saw this
whole thing go down and posted it on social media.
Otherwise it would have been you know, we never would
have it, would know ry.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
So I just thought that was a really neat story
because you hear about these celebrities that do great things,
but when it's a breeze artist or artists in this case,
it's like, we want to talk about this because they
are and I happen to know the Wilson sisters personally,
and they are just the most genuine people. So I
just love the story so.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Much and kind of to your point, I mean, the
big takeaway for the waitress was just their words of encouragement. Yeah,
but again, nine hundred bucks for somebody who's struggling with whatever,
I mean, that could be a month's rent right there, well,
which allows her to get ahead.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
That's exactly what she said. She said, this paid my
bills for the month, and it gave me a little
bit of a cushion for next month. And when you're
twenty four and you're working, you know, with a waitress
in a restaurant, you're barely getting by, Like, that's huge
slagh changing. Yeah, great story. So we wanted to share
that with you this morning on our brighter side. And again,
like Court said, if you've got a brighter side for
us eight seven seven nine one o nine eight one

(11:10):
Friday morning this past Friday, you probably heard us announce
our new Morning Breeze person of the Week.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah, Gee in San Francisco, who.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Is so sweet and doing so much for the community
and just helping so many different people on a weekly basis.
And we are of course, looking for our person of
the Week for this coming week. So we need those
nominations from you.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Yeah, just go and fill out the form on our
website at ninety eight one The Breeze dot com. So
it's Fleetwood Mac here on ninety eight point one The
Breeze the base number one for relaxing favorites for your morning.
You got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. By
the way, just before we get to the more you know, Yeah,
there's a rumor Fleetwood Mac rumor it might be doing
like a farewell tour. I know, and think we're going

(11:51):
to tour anymore. There's been some like reconciliation going. We
would be very happy about this. That was kind of
a mini the more you know, okay, based on rumor. Okay,
let's get to the real the more you know, all right.
It's sponsored by the San Francisco Symphony.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Yes, I love that symbol in there. I set a
minute ago. Good news if you're a dad with daughters,
in particular, I'm a dad.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
I have two daughters. Yes.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
According to a new study, they say that daughters add
seventy four weeks to a father's lifespan seventy four.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
That's like a year and a half. Wow.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
First, of all, healthier life choices. They say that dads
and daughters usually adopt healthier life choices like nutrition, okay,
regular exercise, Do any of those? Check for you?

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Sure?

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yeah, okay, are you lying? Kind of okay? I thought so.
Number two, daughters provide emotional support that can help reduce
stress levels.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Interesting.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
See, I always thought it was the opposite that we
stressed our dads out, because dads don't you know, like
father daughter. They're like, we don't know what you're thinking,
and then we stress them out. But this is kind
of the opposite.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Yeah. I like, I feel like daughters stress their mom,
stress the moms out more than the dads, okay, because
there's there's just a different connection between daughters and dads
and moms and dads and daughters and all that stuff
mos dads and so yeah. So I feel like I'm
a little more chill when it comes to me. I
don't stress about them the way because I don't. I don't.

(13:26):
I don't get it half the time, and I don't
even try to get it. And that's not a bad thing.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Okay, So check number two. I think if I'm untangling
what you just said. Number two. Yes, daughters provide emotional support.
They can help reduce stress. Number three. The emotional bond
between fathers and daughters provides great results.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Okay, it's interesting to think about because I don't have
a point of reference of having a son, so I
don't know any better. I don't know what it would
be like to raise sons. I did spend a little
bit of time with some age boys over the weekend
because it was homecoming weekend.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
How did that feel?

Speaker 2 (14:04):
I just it just made me laugh to the watch
these sixteen and seventeen year old boys interact with girls
and be among parents. Yes, it just it just made
me laugh.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
It would be so different. I would think as a
dad raising boys versus raising girls, you know what they're thinking,
and you know what they're up to, and you know
their motives. But with girls, it's kind of like the
wild West for you. You're just figuring it out exactly. Yeah,
but it was fun. But I was just like super
grateful to have two daughters. Yeah, but you're a great girl, dad,
so thank you. This is like rd up your head and.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Apparently I'm going to live a year and a half longer.
Than my peers.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Congratulations. Yes, it's the more, you know. We do it
every weekday morning at this time at seven twenty five.
You can reach us for anything eight seven seven nine,
eight one oh nine eight one. Send us a talk
back with our iHeartRadio app as well, and be sure
to join us later in the show.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Eight fifty. As you begin your workday, we're giving you
ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free, relaxing f favorites.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Yeah, we'll start your workday at eight to fifty commercial
free right here on the Breeze. It's Sean Colvin, eighth nine.
Good morning, It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
So, Carolyne, I mentioned that my wife is just she'll
always be a better kinder person than me, Okay, and
that's okay, I'm okay admitting that statement. Okay. She did
something over the weekend that I did not see coming
and it scared me a little bit really. So it
was homecoming weekend for my daughter Sloan. Yeah, her senior
year homecoming dance, and so there was this gathering for pictures.

(15:35):
I don't know if you follow all this, but like
the groups like to get together somewhere nice and take pictures.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
So, yes, I went to homecoming a few times.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
I think if you remember that or all this. Yes,
So we went went with a bunch of other parents,
met the like it was there was like twenty kids,
maybe fifteen, Yeah I can, Yeah, took the pictures. They
headed off to the restaurant that they were going to
go eat at. My wife and I thought, let's just
we should go out to dinner too. Sure, so we

(16:03):
went to one of our favorite places to eat and
lo and behold, because it's homecoming weekend, there's just teenage
kids and groups everywhere. Oh yeah, So we witness in
this restaurant this group of about twenty kids eating dinner,
and then when the check came due, they all wanted
separate bills. So my wife is watching, watching, and we

(16:24):
had the same waiter waitress watch her sitting there trying
to figure all this out, and my wife could just
tell that something was wrong.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
And my wife also recognized half of those kids go
to the same high school as my daughter, so she
she knew these.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
She knew the kids. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
So finally our waiter comes over, waitress comes over and
checks on us, and shees, yeah, we're doing, and I'm like, yeah,
we're good. How are you? And my wife Randy is like,
did they pay for everything? She's like no, they It
got confusing at some point and she's like I missed something,
So Randy says, put whatever did? They didn't get paid
for onto our well covered, which is such a great move.

(17:05):
So yes, But then I'm also thinking, like, how much
did they miss? Is this like three or four hundred dollars?

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Well, if it was, that was your job to make
it good. So kudos of course you did.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Big time. Kudos to Randy.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
That's huge.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Still I'm sitting there, I'm just again, I'm like, man,
Randy is the best. She is also be how much
is this check going to be?

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Well, i mean, was it three or four hundred dollars?

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Well? The waiter waitress finally came over and said, I
talked to my manager. He's taken care of it. Because
oftentimes the waitresses are the waiters, the wait staff. They're
responsible if the orders get messed up, comes out of
their pocket. Yeah, and my wife didn't want that to happen.
What a nightmare for that poor waitress to have. All
those kids have individual of course they wanted individual bills.

(17:52):
No kid's going to be like, yeah, here's my AMEX
just put it on the Sure, she was like she
saw them comment and went great. But that was really
big of raising to such a great move. And you
by default, Yeah, even though you have a question. Sure,
even though it was worry a little bit. It all
works out. Randy gets credit for the offer. Oh without

(18:13):
having it, I know, to win win.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
What a day. All right, that's a great story. We're
at eight seven seven nine eight one, nine eight one.
We always welcome your talkbacks on our iHeartRadio apps and
those anytime from any place.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Yeah, no matter where you are in the world. While
you're streaming the Breeze, just look for that red microphone button,
click it, leave your message. Those talkbacks will show up
here in the studio.
