Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on demand. It's Tobe
great here on ninety eight point one The Breeze. You've
got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Courtword eight seven
seven nine eight one nine eight one. I say all
of that because it's six nineteen and that means it's
time for the Morning Breeze. Brain seas your chance to
call in and exercise your brain muscle just a little bit.

(00:23):
Today's question. According to a survey, sixteen percent of Americans
who own one of these regrets buying it. Okay, Gjen Dublin,
you're up first. What do you think the answer is?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I'm going to go with the electric vehicle.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Oh, electric vehicles, that's a very smart gas.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
I wouldn't buy one right now, so maybe I'm thinking
of myself about what one I might regret it. Sure,
but you know you do have to for now six
four hours charging it or find that policy.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
That's the challenge, right, Yeah, you can't fill it up super.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Quick, and not a ton of people have electric vehicles,
so this makes this is a good guess here that
has solid guests, but not the.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Correct and it's not.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
She's like, I love it and it's not all right, Well,
it was nice to talk to you, have a good
one and you too, all right, Adele in Millbray, e're rope.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
What do you think The answer is.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
The video game?

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Video game?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
You know, when you buy it and you bring it home,
your kids are stuck to it. They won't go well,
they won't enjoy fresh air, you know, rite it and.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
B parents are like, why did we buy this Xbox
right lay station? Back in the eighties? We would we
couldn't wait to get home to just park it in
front of the TV, and they pitfall all afternoon long,
little donkey kong on there.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
I'll bet my parents hate it, going back to the
Atari days here, Yeah, why not, Adele, You're I think
you're totally onto something here, because those video games are
just they just time sucks. You sit down and start
playing it, playing them, and next thing you know, it's
two hours later. The homework didn't get done. Didn't get done,
bold guests not the correct answer. According to the survey,

(02:10):
sixteen percent of Americans who bought a home regret buying it.
Really a house house.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I can't see people regretting it. Well, then again, when
you're in debt, yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
That would be so rough to buy a house and
then and then instantly oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I think for people who may have rented for a
majority of their life when they get to the to
the dream of owning owning a house and then realizing, oh,
I got to pay for all the repairs myself. Yes,
that's the tough part. That's a tough pill to swallow.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can see that rough.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Well, Adele, have a great day. Thank you for calling today.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I know you two. You guys have a happy day,
by the way.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Thank you. Take care. It's the Morning Breeze Brains. He's
sponsored by Mike Council Plumbing. You're in clean hand with
my Council Plumbing. Visit them at mc plumbing dot com
and we do the Morning Breeze Brain tees every weekday
morning at six point twenty here on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
A reminder for you that tomorrow morning, just after seven o'clock,
we are going to announce our next Morning Breeze Person
of the Week. There is still time, believe it or not,
to get your nominations at easily.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Are one of our favorite times of the week, and
we're getting so many great nominations the persons of the
Week for the past couple of weeks have been so good.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
It's been very tough to choose. But we welcome your nominations.
And just know if you nominate somebody and we don't
announce them tomorrow, they're not this week's winner. We hang
on to them, so there's a good chance they could
be the following week or the week after that.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
That's right. The forum is on our website and it's
easy to do. Just make that nomination at ninety eight
one The Breeze dot com. At Earthdrees it's the Bactory
Boys at six thirty seven. Here on ninety eight point
one The Breeze, it's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Court and it's time now for ask Us Anything.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
This is where you get to ask us whatever is
on your mind about life, about the show, about our
opinions on the random stuff you've been wondering about. Just
give us a call eight seven seven nine eight one,
nine eight one, or send us to talk back with
our iHeartRadio app. It's Vicki and Napa. All right, ask
us anything?

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Well, I have a two parts ask us anything question.
The first part is do you go over or under
when it comes to the toilet paper roll, this is.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
A no brainer. You go under, VICKI you go over. Well,
I agree with court.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
And if you go into someone's house, can you change
it if it's not the way you like it?

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Only if it's a court's house, which you have done.
I will change it if it's if it's easy to do.
Some people have the toilet paper like you have to
like disconnect it a little bit.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
It's a little kind of.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Hard understand that at all.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, what yeah, what is that? Some people have like
the ones where there's like a cover over the top
of it and oh it's like a lockdown. Yeah, it's
a little more lockdown. Yeah, I'm not gonna think too
much about it.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I have to tell you the one in my guests
bathroom is hidden because the cat will go in there
and ShredIt pieces. I have it. I have it hidden
in a decorative coffee can.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Oh, that is hilarious. You've got one.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
I tell people, Yeah, you see this, this is where
your toilet paper is because I can't leave it out
because she'll thread it.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
That's actually really funny. You have to hide your toilet
paper because your cat will shred it. Now, VICKI, what
about you. You're so you said.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
You're over, But if you go to someone's house, do
you change their toilet paper roll?

Speaker 2 (05:39):
No, it's not my house, it's not my toilet paper.
I leave it. I go Okay. I disagree with the
way this is rolling, but I can live with it
because I'm only here. It's a guest.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Do you do you make your disagreement known? Do you
let them know? I like, hey, by the way your
toilet papers on wrong, But.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
You know it's it's still a free country. We can
still have the right to do it one way.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Well, that's great. Good ask us anything, VICKI. You gotta
take care.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Take care, bye bye.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
I still don't understand why people think over is better.
Look when you're doing the one handed grab, which I
don't know anybody that grabs toilet paper or two hands.
A one handed you've put your hand under the roll.
To you, it's easier to break it off in a
single break.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
To me, I don't. I strongly disagree with you, and
there's nothing wrong with a two handed grab. By the way,
both hands are right there. I don't want I don't
even want to know. It's the way the toilet paper
roll was intended.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
And I disagree, but we will continue to disagree on
this topic as we have for how long have you
been working here?

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Now? Almost three years?

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Okay, three years, we've been disagreeing on this for three
it's almost.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Been three years. What's coming up?

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (06:52):
All right?

life where you think you know what, this will make
a great brighter side. I appreciate that this happened or

Eight seven seven nine eight one, nine eight one. The

(07:31):
Brighter Side, of course, sponsored by Shrieving Company, Luxury time Pieces,
Fine Designers and Flawless Diamonds.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
LV in San Francisco. Your brighter side has to do
with your job. So tell us what do you do
for a living.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
I'm a banker, you're a banker.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Do you like your job as a banker?

Speaker 2 (07:47):
I do.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
How long have you been doing it and what do
you like about it?

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Wow? I've been doing it for five years and I
like to have an interaction with different people.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
But do you have customers that bring you gifts? I
see that sometimes when I go into banks around the holidays,
Like people love their specific teller that they go in
to see and they bring them gifts. Does that happen
with you?

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Not very often? No, it's okay.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
So is that the type of banking you do? LV?
Are you a bank teller or do you do other
things at the bank? Bank teller? Do banks still have
the suckers? I used to remember my neighbor used to
go to the bank and he'd be like, Hey, you
want to go get a sucker? I'm like, heck yeah.
I feel like we're peppering.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Poor Elvie is just getting slammed with questions from us.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
It's not every day we have bank tellers call into
the show. But I mean, elv do you give away
suckers at the bank.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
No no, no, no, at least not no no no.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Times of change. That was like in the nineties. Eighties, Yeah, okay, eighties. Yeah, Well,
we appreciate you listening. It's always interesting to learn about
what our listeners do and if you like your jobs
and where you work and all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
So it's fun.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Yeah, okay, sounds good. Thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
I'll keep listening, all right, Thank you so much, have a.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Good day, Thank you, take care bye.

NonStop commercial, free, relaxing favorites to help you start your workday.
So join us at eight fifty here on the Morning Breeze.
It's the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
With Carolyn and Court and Lionel Ritchie at seven twenty nine,
and it is time for one of our favorite parts
of the show. The more you know that we do
it every weekday morning at this time. It is sponsored
by the San Francisco Symphony.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
So Carolyn gen Z is really rewriting what's happening in
the workplace. Gen Z's now fully in the workforce.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
So gen Z, is anybody right now that's thirteen to
twenty eight years old? Because I was confused there's two
millennials in gen Z. I always confuse the two.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Yeah. So those those people that are at the upper
end down towards like my daughter who's twenty, she's she's
in college still, but she is working now, they're rewriting
workplace rules, especially when it comes to like how you
show your dedication to your job. Yes, remember back when
the day when like if you were sick, but you're like,
I gotta go to work. I'm dedicated my job. Yes,
the way of I gotta work and everybody appreciated it.

(10:36):
Not anymore. According to gen Z's if you show up
to work sick, you're selfish, Oh, because you're risking getting
other people sick. Exactly right. Okay, so if you're sick today,
you should just stay home. Don't ask me twice? Wow?
Good well, first of all, good to know. Thirty one
percent of Americans say showing up sick is no longer admirable,

(11:00):
and only twenty five percent think that it actually would
would impress their boss. Wow, that is so different. You
would go to work.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
You could have gone to the hospital in the morning,
woken up, something's wrong. You go to the hospital, You're like,
I gotta get out of the hospital.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
I gotta go to work back in the day.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Yeah, but now I need a week because I need
to physically recover and then until we recover.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Right, you make a week out of that. And Wow,
younger people aren't going to ba deny at it. They
think that's the better way. That's a great The more
you know, there you go and we do. The more
you know every weekday morning around this time, seven twenty
five here on ninety eight point one The Breeze eight
oh seven with Gloria esafon here on ninety eight point
one The Breeze. It's the morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
So this morning, Court, I was just saying that I
had something happen with my neighbors. Early this morning was
pitch black outside. Well kind of and here's why. Sure,
it's a good thing, but it was scary at first,
scary for Perk.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
So we went out for our walk this morning, as
we always do it before the show, and it's, you know,
for something in the morning, and it's dark, still dark,
but you know how everybody's putting their Halloween decorations up.
Oh yeah, well, I have some neighbors that have the
inflatable it's like a ghost. And then I think maybe
it's a very big cat and it's very cute. But

(12:16):
Pirk is used to seeing things in the neighborhood the
same thing every morning. Looks like she's got a routine.
There are no inflatable objects out in this morning. So
this morning, come out of the house and she's all
confident or turned a corner to walk down the driveway
and she stops dead in her tracks because this thing
is lit up.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
You can hear the blower going It is for the
neighborhood to see. Are they just leaving it on all night?
I know I was thinking the same thing. When it
waste right, put it on a timer or something. At
least definitely put it on a timer. But this thing
scared her. She I mean, her response was like, I
want that. I can see it in my mind because
my Doug, Charlie, if his is like even simpler than this.

(12:57):
If you put something on a counter that is not
normally on a counter, yeah, in the kitchen, he'll come
trotting into the kitchen and he'll look up and see it,
and it will like startle them. He'll like, what was it?

Speaker 3 (13:07):
And they're excited, like they want to check it out.
Then they do that thing where they take a step
back and startle.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
How it was.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Yeah, And as soon as I got her away from it,
she was fine. But once we came back, she kind
of creeped her way in, like I'm still investigating this situation.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
You can almost guarantee that tomorrow you probably won't have
as big of an issue.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
No, probably not, But I was thinking, 'tis the season
here we go, we start with the Halloween decorations, then
we're going to morph into the Christmas decorations out on
the front lawn.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Yeah, not a lot of Thanksgiving decorations, are they.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
No, I skipped over the turkeys, but we do have
live turkeys in the neighborhood. That's a whole separate story.
But oh wow, this season is beginning. Yeah, it is
the things on your front lawn in front porch that
scare neighborhood dogs.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
But all in good fun. She's fine.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
We are at eight seven seven nine eight one, nine
eight one. You can send us a message anytime with
our iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
And don't forget coming up later this hour at eight fifty,
as you begin your workday, we're giving you ninety eight
minutes of NonStop, commercial, free relaxing favorites.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yep, that's going to start right at eight point fifty
here on the Breeze
