The Morning Breeze. The Morning Breeze on Demand six twenty one.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Here on ninety eight point one The Breeze with Atlantic Star.
You've got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and

Mike Council Plumbing. You're in clean hands with Mike Council Plumbing.
Visit them at mc plumbing dot com. Today's question is
experts say doing this one little thing will help you
(00:26):
get better gas mileage.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
We are at eight seven seven nine eight one oh
nine eight one Tierra and Valeo. Good morning. What is
your gas to your gas like flow so much like
a KSh fill up before your guest tank gets too low,
so you get better mileage if you don't let your
(00:48):
gas tank run to e. I didn't bry that that's
the claim here. Really, it says.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Something about it's better to do it before, oh, for
your gas.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Something like that. Maybe he's just worried about you running
out of gas on the side of the road.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yeah, because I'm always writing life.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Me too, me too, And I know it's bad. You
guys are living on the edge. No, don't if you don't,
me too, well, I'm not sure if that's true or not,
but it's not the answer today. Okay, thank you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Have a great day.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Okay, you too, bye, All right bye? Okay, Kirsten in Fairfield,
Happy Friday morning. What's your guess?
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Rotate your tires? Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:33):
I just looked at my tires this morning and said,
we've got some uneven things going on here. I think
like the back tires have lost more tread than the front. Sure,
I see what Kirsten's saying. That's a great guess. It's
probably maybe accurate. I don't know. I'm not a mechanic, Kirsten.
Are you good about that? Rotating your tires?
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Yeah? I tried to, and my husband actually just had
his tires rotated yesterday.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
All right, Oh, no, wonder this is fred your mind? No.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Great thing about cars these days is they have the
little on board computers that kind of tell you all
these things as well. You can program and to remind you, hey,
rotate your tires. My car does that.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize we were working with
somebody who apparently drives a Rolls Royce scar.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
No.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
No, no, it's just a simple Mazda. I love the answer.
But it is not the correct one. The correct answer
experts say backing into parking spaces can help you get
better gas mileage.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
You know what my husband does every day? He does
he does no matter where he parks, like, he tries
to back into parking Fusson's like, I'm terrible at it,
and like I just I always see them and say, oh,
you're just showing off.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Well I was going to ask that. It made me
think about that, like are you annoyed by it or
do you have you just come to the point where
you just go, Yeah, he's the guy that backs into
every spot and you just deal with that.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Yeah, I just deal with it.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Oh my gosh, that was so fun. Well, Kirsten, have
a good day.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Thank you too. I love listening to you guys.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Thank you. Have a good weekend.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Thank you too.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
So Carolyn, I looked this up real quickly about why
it saves you gas. When your engine is cold, it's
less fuel efficient, and so backing up while your parking
is better on the engine. It saves gas as opposed
to backing up with a cold engine.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
It's better to back up.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Into a parking spot when the car has been running,
as opposed to backing out of the car space after
it's been sitting there cold.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
I see what you're saying now hot versus cold. I
still don't know if I believe that. All right, it's
the Morning Breeze brain tease. We do it every weekday
morning here at six twenty and coming up this morning
at eight fifty, we're going commercial free, ninety eight minutes
of NonStop, commercial free relaxing favorites to help you start
your workday. That's at eight fifty here on the Morning
Breeze Breeze Man, we are playing all the hits this morning,
(04:04):
as Michael Bolton on a Friday. There he is the
Morning Breeze Carolyn and Court. It is six forty, and
because it is six forty, it is time for the
more you know.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
So based on your reaction moments ago, Carolyn, I get
the sense that on occasion you suffer from motion sickness?
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Is that true statement? Absolutely? Is it like in planes
on cars at sea? At sea for sure, but also
in cars if I'm in the back seat or if
I'm in the front seat, is the passenger and I'm
looking down at my phone? Yeah, I get motion sick
so bad.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
My wife is the same way really, like, well, we're
driving around, she's just on her phone the entire tapment.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yeah, and then you have to look at you put
your phone down. Oh okay, so.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Talk to me.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
According to scientists, yes, that was back to back toe
or wait no, top gun reference one of the few
times you reference a movie a big day.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
According to scientists, soft and joyful dare I say relaxing
music can help produce motion sickness symptoms.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
By about fifty seven percent instantly, no kidding. Yes, So
if you're riding in a car courts driving, you're the passenger,
your your stomach is upset, you get the motion sickness
thing going on. What do you do? Turn on the
breech on the breeze, which by the way, should be
on anyway in your car court But yes, oh I
(05:32):
love that.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
But it's very specific. Again, soft and joyful music works
best stirring music, so maybe like a good symphony, Oh
it does, okay eight percent.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah. The music to avoid, though.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Is the super sad sappy music that's sad, like really
overly sad. I mean we just played Michael Bolton, which
how am I supposed to live without it? That's kind
of sad in context, but it's a great relaxing song.
So if it's relaxing and sound good, it's just sad sad.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yeah, avoid. I thought you were going to say avoid
like heavy metal music or really up tempo like EDYM music.
I don't know. Let me hold on. Okay, it's it's fine,
a yes or no. Study it's like thirty pages. You
could just lie at this point and I'll believe you. No, Nope,
it's relaxing music.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Could you want to listen to you to cure that
motion sickness?
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Well, that's interesting, and that percentage fifty six or fifty
seven percent, whatever it was that you said, is great
that it. Are you looking it up?
Speaker 2 (06:33):
No, I'm just I'm just I'm trying to figure out
what the scientist behind this. It has something to do
with brain activity and the something with your lobe and relief,
and I feel like you can look that up before
I could have with this.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
I don't want to get too into the weeds on this.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
But again, if you suffer from motion sickness, relaxing relaxing music,
love it relaxing favorites here on the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
I love that that is a great the more, you know, sure,
Thank you, Court. We do it every weekday morning at
six forty. You can reach us anything eight seven, seven one,
nine eight one, or use our iHeartRadio app that talkback Mike.
You can send a message at your convenience and we'll
get it right away. We sure will.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
And coming up this morning, shortly after seven o'clock, we
will be naming a new Morning Breeze Person.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Of the Week. But that means the the uh what
do we call this? Nominations are reopen for next week.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
It's exactly it. So if there's somebody in your life
going above and beyond, we want to hear about them.
You can make a nomination for next week's Morning Breeze
Person of the Week on our website ninety eight one
The Breeze dot Com. Cyndey Lapper at seven oh four
here on ninety eight point one The Breeze. You've got
the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court, and it's time
now for us to make the big announcement the next
Morning Breeze Person of the Week. And as we just
(07:43):
told you, I think this is a first.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
It is it's Glenn who nominated Tim. Now, Tim is
a mechanic he's got a shop locally. So Glenn, how
long have you known each other?
Speaker 4 (07:54):
I met him a couple of years ago. It took
my vehic Glenn to get smog and he has a
smog and repair shop here in town. And just, you know,
mechanics have a bad reputation and this guy just and
I've been a mechanic for for forty or fifty years myself.
He's just such an honest guy. And like I said,
every time I go to visit, he's got somebody's car
(08:16):
in there that you know, it's it's somebody who's so
maybe doesn't make that much money, and he's just helping
them out because they need help, you know. And for
Fourth of July, the complex where he's at, him and
the other business owners, there's a muffler shop, a class shop,
and some other air press shops. They put on a
Fourth of July so pay for all the fireworks. Tim
(08:38):
supplied all the try tip and there was just this
huge like barbecue, and I'm like, man, these guys they're
just all about the community and helping each other out
and stuff, and it's just it's so refreshing to have
things like that or.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Have people like that where is Tim's shop?
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Fairfield?
Speaker 1 (08:55):
So I would guess Glenn, you, as a mechanic, would
know a good mechanic when you see one, especially one
that's honest.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Hey, exactly, and just such good integrity.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
And you said it at the beginning, honest mechanics are
so hard to come by, especially when you're somebody that
knows nothing about cars like me. You don't know if
they're giving you the run around or if they are
being honest exactly.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
I've actually gone to small claims court with coworkers because
of them getting ripped off.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Oh gosh, what's the name of tim shop? Robin's Automotive,
Robin's Automotive and Fairfield.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Okay, so Glenn, thank you for bringing Tim to our attention.
We are now officially making Tim this week's Morning Breeze
Person of the Week, which comes with a lot of
great things.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Yeah, we're actually going to give him, as you already know, Glenn,
brunch for two on the Bay from City Cruises, so
he'll get to go out on a Sunday morning and
enjoy brunch courtesy of City Cruises. So thank you for
making this happen. That's really nice of you to do
for him. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Well, I appreciate you guys.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
All right, make it a good day, Glenn.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
You guys have a good day.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
You bye.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
And if there is somebody like Tim in your life,
we want to hear about them. We've made it easy
to do. Make that nomination on our website ninety eight
one The Breeze dot Com. And again, this could be
anybody in your life.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Yeah, be thinking about who it is that goes above
me on Like, we've never had a nomination about a mechanic.
Someone's a mechanic. It was a great nomination, sure was
so no matter what the situation is, it's so simple.
It's like somebody who just does good for others. Those
are the people we want to hear about. As Court said,
you can nominate them at ninety eight Onethebreeze dot com
(10:30):
for our Morning Breeze Person of the Week. Whitney Houston
seven twenty five, Good morning, Happy Friday morning to you.
It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. It
is time for you to ask us anything. We do
it every weekday morning at this time, sort of your
chance to flip the script. Usually we're the ones asking
you the questions. That's right. Yeah, But today and every
(10:52):
weekday morning at this time, it's all about you call us.
Ask us anything anything you wanted to know about the station,
the music, about life itself, or something to totally random.
There is nothing that is off limits.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
We've had some really really great questions asked of us
all over the Yeah, like just a really good array
of question. I think today's question might be the deepest
question we've ever been asked.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Go ahead, Court, you know what it is. Yes.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
So Carl in San Jose sent us an email says, hey,
listen every morning, enjoy the show.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Would like to know if you can only put one
condiment or topping on a hot dog, what would it be?
You know what? I got to give it to, Carl.
Thank you, Carl. This is a great Friday question, especially
going into a weekend with good weather. Dodgers are coming
to town, play the Giants weekend. Forty nine ers are
(11:44):
playing like I'm here for Carl's question. So what is
it for you? You've got one choice one topping on
a hot dog.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
I would say the go to is like a spicy
brown ground mustard.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Oh you went mustard?
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Yeah, because I think that's the go to you on
because hot dog is the American sausage. Yeah, so for
me it was mustard. Okay, I kind of want to
change my answer, but before I do, what what was
your answer?
Speaker 1 (12:10):
What would you how would you answer that? It's so
tough to narrow it down. I went with just ketchup
simple because I only had one choice. I almost went
with Mayo. And I know that's random, and I know
it's controversial and it's a lot of people would say
it's wrong. I know, but it's Mayo so good, like yes,
(12:32):
but I'm gonna stick with ketchup. So what what would
you have changed?
Speaker 2 (12:35):
I there have been times in my life where Mayo
on a hot dog was my go to and.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
I and I but I was too embarrassed to admit it.
But then I saw on our Facebook page a lot
of Breeze listeners like if they again, because it comes
down to if you can only put one condiment on
that hot dog? Yeah, that's why I like that. Mark
wrote onion relish ketchup mustard one thing, Mark, one thing.
(13:05):
But I thought, I don't like being Mayo shamed for
liking Mayo, Like that's okay, do I eat it on everything. No,
but if I want.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Yeah, and the purists out there will tell you the
only condiment that belongs on hot dog is mustard.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
You can put the you can put relish, you can
put onions. But when it comes to a condiment, no ketchup,
no mayo, just mustard.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
We have a lot of people chiming in on our page,
our Facebook page with this question at ninety eight. One
of breeze, a lot of mustards, a lot of ketchup,
a lot of relish, and several mayo. I'm looking through
it now, way more mayo than I expected. Oh wait
a minute, ed Ed came in with chili nicely. No,
that counts no one thing. One thing. I mean, it
(13:52):
could be a slice of cheese if you want to. Yes, Okay,
Oh my gosh, I'm so hungry looking at this. No
one said sauer Kraut, So I thought that might be
on there. Okay, that's more of for like like a
broadwurst or like a true sausage. What was the person's name, Carl, Carl.
Thank you for Carl for emailing us about that. That
was a good question. Now probably everybody is either a
(14:13):
starving or b grossed out because we talked so much
about Mayo, so sorry about that, but it is ask
us anything. We do it every weekday morning at this
time seven twenty five, and we welcome your questions eight
seven seven nine eight one nine eight one. You can
email us through our website or send us a question
with our iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
It's super easy to do and also a reminder join
us at eight fifty this morning as we go commercial free,
ninety eight minutes of NonStop, commercial free relaxing favorites right
here on the Morning Breeze. It's the base number one
for relaxing favorites at work, ninety eight point one in
the Breeze with Alicia Keys at eight oh eight, and
you've got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
A couple of minutes ago, I mentioned that I did
something last night that made me mentally not feel great.
I'm kind of using this as a public service announcement,
and I also wonder if other people have done this
same thing, including you, Court. So I generally try to
only go on social media and look at my own posts,
like I'll log on if I see notifications, and I'll
(15:13):
reply back to people on my posts, and then I'll
jump off of social media. I used to be on
social media for hours at a time, and I didn't
feel great when I would do that, like mentally. And
so last night, though, I found myself back to where
I was a couple of years ago, where I would
just doom scroll. I went online, I replied to the
comments on my posts, and then I just kept scrolling.
(15:35):
And doom scrolling, of course, is where you just scroll
endlessly and you don't even realize you're just lost. Right. Well,
I don't know how long I was scrolling last night,
but I started to feel gross. Yep, I felt sad, actually,
like actually felt depressed, and I thought what happened? And
(15:56):
I realized, you're doing it again, You're doom scrolling. I
did some research because we've heard people say that doom
scrolling is bad for you. So I just looked it
up just to get myself off social media, but just
still to stay on my phone. They say that the
average person spends about six hours on social media every day.
(16:17):
This is the hours a day, and one of the
biggest contributors is doom scrolling.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Now, they say doom scrolling is really bad for your
mental health. It can also cost you like three days
a month. Because you're spending so much time doing it,
it adds up collectively to about three days a month.
Oh yeah, if the average is six hours a day, yeah,
what's more than that? Right? They say that gen Z
can spend up to fifteen hours a day on social media.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
One of the best things that happened to me, Carolyn,
when it came to the doom scrolling, because I used
to spend a lot of times.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
I'd get in bed.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
My wife and I are both were both on your
bed on our phones, and I don't like to turn
on like the night stand lamp. So my older age
bad vision works in my favor. So because I can't like,
I'm just like, I can't see the phone very well.
My eyes get tired. I'm like, I'm out. Yeah, so
I don't so I these days, probably for the past year,
(17:12):
I don't get.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
On my phone when I'm in bed, which certainly helps out. Yep.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
I know people who have a rule they don't take
their their phones into the bedroom. Oh really, so that
they can't doom scroll, Because I think a lot of
the doom scrolling happens in bed at night.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
It is tempting trying to go to sleep to just say,
let me just check one more time. Yeah, And then
but I did what you did. I have stopped looking
at my phone once I go to bed. I put
my phone on my nightstand because it's my alarm clock, right,
and I don't pick it up again. I mean once
in a while, ado, but for the most part, I don't.
But I I it was just a good reminder last
(17:49):
night to stop the doom scrolling. So if you're somebody
that's doing that and it makes you feel weird or
gross or sick or whatever, it could definitely be that
you're on your phone too much. There you go.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
And if you're going to follow social media accounts, you
should just maybe just follow the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Yeah, let's get back to that. We just try to
provide you just positive, uplifting things and we do reply
to your comments, and we really do enjoy that. Other
than that, you just stop. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ninety eight
one of the Breeze on social media coming up at
eight fifty this morning. We're going to be commercial free
and that means for you ninety eight minutes of commercial free,
relaxing favorite perfect
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Way to kick off your workday on this Friday, or
whatever you have going on, so join us at eight
to fifty commercial free here on the morning Breeze
