Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on Demand Lionel Richie
at six twenty one. Good Morning, Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Court. It is time for the Morning Breeze brain Tease.
It is sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in clean
hands with Mike Council Plumbing. You can visit them online
at mc plumbing dot com. We've got a fun question
for you today.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Yeah, when it comes to dating, thirty two percent of
women would consider this a deal breaker, compared to twenty
two percent of men. Or again, as I rephrased it,
more women than men say this is a deal breaker.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
We just got a call from Sue who listens in
Santa Rosa, and she suggested bad teeth, teeth, totally bad teeth, yes, automatic, yes,
good guess Yeah, not.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
The answer, not the answer. Okay, so we know it's
not teeth.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
We're at eight seven seven nine eight one. Chuck in
Pleasant Hill, Good morning. What do you think nowadays?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
I'd say smoking cigarettes.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Smoking sarett gosh.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
That would be it.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
I quit smoking when I was I smoked from like
sixteen to twenty five, and I quit when I was
twenty five. And when I quit smoking, and I wassipled.
I was fifty three. I quit dating women that smoked
after I quit smoking. In it, a woman started smoking
during the day.
Speaker 5 (01:16):
That was it.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
I can't say that I ended a date early, but
I probably did because I dated a lot back then.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
But anyway, that's a really good guess. That is not
the correct answer today.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
All right, chuck, make it a good day. We have
another man.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
I love that men are answering this question. All right,
good morning Steve in NAPA. What do you think the
answer is.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
I'm guessing paying for dinner or something.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Paying for dinner? Okay, now are we talking? If the
other person doesn't pay, then you're like deal breaker.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
I'm out, well, yeah, because I've heard stories, you know,
you know of men not paying, yeah, for ladies like dinner.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Whatever's that's the lady in the room. I feel like
that's a tough one because it's kind of old school mentality,
like we want everything to be fifty to fifty.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
But then if we go on a date, we're like,
why didn't you pay? That was so rude? Is that
the answer?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
That is not the answer? No correct answer when it
comes to dating. Thirty two percent of women say that
poor table manners are a deal breaker. Well, men not
as important to them.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Only thirty two percent.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Oh and what are we talking about? Elbows on the table?
Are we talking about chewing with your mouth open? Oh
my gosh, all those areas.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Yeah, I was close.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Yeah, was dinner related.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
You were in the realm of that. But man, yeah,
that could really ruin a date. I told you I
went out on a date with that guy that one
time who was yelling at the bartender, making like treating
this snide jokes. And the bartender was busy and didn't
have time for that rude behavior. And you know who
else didn't this girl that was the first and last
date with that guy.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yeah, And now I sleep alone at night, so it
all worked out. You've been warned, fellas.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
All right, Steve, thank you.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
That's so good.
Speaker 1 (03:02):

More You Know this Bay Area city. Court has one
of the longest commutes in the entire United States. This
just came out over the weekend. That's not necessarily something
that you should be proud of. It's bragging rights. It's
a good point bragging rights, but it's not Yeah, we'll
tell you what city it is. Coming up next on
the More You Know Here on the Breeze.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
Sun Cloud, how did it happened when it's cold? Uh?

Speaker 6 (05:58):
You said what.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Sunset it's music from the Temptations. Six point forty two
is a Time ninety eight point one The Breeze. You've
got the morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. And it's
a Monday. You're heading back to work this morning. Maybe
you want to sound smart and knowledgeable when you're hanging
out with your colleagues standing around the water cooler. Yeah,
(06:36):
you've come to the right place. Yeah, that's why we
bring you. We have the solution. It's called the More
You Know.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
I set a minute ago that over the weekend, I
heard a stat that I was shocked to hear about
one of our cities in the Bay Area. This particular
Bay Area city apparently has one of the longest commutes,
not just in the Bay Area, but in the entire
United States.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
So is this people going to this Bay Area city
or coming from this Bay Area city?
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Well both, it's they're commute like going to kind And
now it's time for.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
The More you Know. We'll start over. Okay, So there
is a city in the Bay Area, Court and it
has a really long commute, No.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Seriously, one of the longest commutes in the entire United States.
And here's the other part of this is that their
commute is so long that the people that live in
the city are actually starting to quit their jobs because
they're like, this is too much, don't want to do
it anymore. That city is the city of Brentwood. Brentwood
out in the far I call it the Far East Bay.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Seventy five percent of people that live in Brentwood apparently
drive to work, and a fifth of those people leave
before six o'clock because it's just the Bay Area are
crazy traffic wise. They're far enough out there that they
have and a third of those people commute more than
one hour one way.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
So Brentwood. Because again, I've been here in the Bay
Area almost three years, but I'm still learning all of
these places. I'm familiar with Brentwood just by name. I've
never been there. Yeah, is it. Would you define it
as a true bedroom community? Yeah, people just go there
to live.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
That's well, I'm glad you brought that up. So there's
a real estate developer. I saw this story in the
Chronicle over the weekend. A real estate developer said that
the residents moved to Brentwood, or moved to Brentwood for
this great quality of life, but they're so tired by
the time they get home every day from that commute,
that they really can't enjoy the community during the work
week because they're so exhausted.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
They've then spent so much time in the car.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
So it was just such an interesting if you think
about all of the commutesy in the United States, and
this is like in the top. Yeah, that's that says
a lot about that commute. But I just picture so
because you haven't lived here for a long time, Brentwood,
those men and women are going Highway four. Then maybe
they're jumping on six eighty, or maybe they're going to eighty.
(09:03):
They are taking some serious freeways. Maybe they're going over
to five eighty on Vasco Road, which is kind of
a tough commute in the morning. So yeah, I could
see why they wind up in the.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
There's no there's no real direct route from where they
are into like Oakland or into San Francisco, not really
not really take the long route.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
And we've done this before, but I'm curious to know
for people that are listening, like where are you commuting
from them too? If you've got a long commute and
it's not Brontwood, what is your commute?
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Like every day. I always love talking to our listeners.
Where are you coming from and how long is it exactly?
Speaker 1 (09:37):
You can send us a message with our iHeartRadio app,

He's moved recently, so I was really stoked to see
him for a couple of days.
Speaker 6 (10:35):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
How long had it been since you've seen him?
Speaker 7 (10:37):
It's been about almost three months, and we're really close,
so it was really nice to get reunited.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Oh, I'm sure.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
What was it like when you guys saw each other
again for the first time.
Speaker 7 (10:47):
Oh my gosh, I had like butterflies on my standard,
like I hadn't seen him in ages.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
It was. Yeah, it was a great billy, I can
only imagine.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Well, we're glad that you were able to go visit him,
for sure.
Speaker 7 (10:57):
So nice. Thank you guys.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
You're welcome. Thanks for listening, and have a good day.
Speaker 7 (11:02):
Yeah, no, that was really great. Thank you so much. Guys.
I listen to you guys every morning.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Well, we appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Yeah, thanks for calling in this morning.
Speaker 7 (11:09):
Okay, Son's good. Take care.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
That's really cool, it really is. I've always been curious
about when there's only one sibling, when you only have
one sibling, because I grew up with so many, Yes
that when you've just got the one that's all you.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Have, you're so tight with that one and then you're
back together, which is so great. And by the way,
if you have a brighter side for us eight seven
seven nine eight, one oh nine eight one, or send
us a talk back using our iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
And coming up next here on the Morning Breeze, it's
ask us Anything, your chance to call into the show
and ask anything that might be on your mind.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
We have had the best questions lately. Yeah, it's been
like all over the place, which I love. Some have
been about the show. Some have been like an either
or like what do you put on your hot dog?
I mean it'd be that simple again. Eight seven, seven
nine eight, one oh nine eight one. Ask us anything?
Coming up next? That song makes me miss the eighties
(12:03):
with Tom Cruise, Samovie Cocktail right song John Stamos, how old.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Were you when you discovered? And I don't want to
ruin this for anybody, but when you discovered the Kocomo
is not a real place. It's a it's a fictitious
Caribbean island.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
What no all right, Beach Boys, Morning Breeze Carolyn and
Court seven twenty six, And it is time for ask
us anything. It's sort of when we flip the microphone
over to you. You ever wonder what goes on behind
the scenes in the studio. Maybe you want some advice
on relationships or food hacks or parenting. Call another show. No,
(12:41):
We're here for you eight seven seven nine eight one
nine eight one. Your chance to ask us literally anything.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Yeah, and you can actually email your questions like Sam
in San Ramon. Did I don't know if this is
Sam as in Samuel or Sam is in Samantha Smith. Maybe,
but Sam writes Carolyn in court, did you always want
to be on the radio or what was your dream
job as a kid? So maybe your dream job I'm
just reading into this email. Yeah, I was being on
(13:08):
the radio, but I don't think for either of us
it was did you want to be I.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Mean it depends when you were a kid, like when
you were a little and you didn't know what a
real job was. I think when I was a little kid,
because my parents used to ride horses and do horse
shows when we were real young. So I wanted to
be a professional horseback rider.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Okay, I thought that was how I was gonna make
it big rights, which you know, don't ride horses, And
that didn't work out for me and that's fine. I'm
very happy with what I'm doing. So, yeah, because you
got a little older and started realizing.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
I wanted to be what we called back then a secretary,
which now is like a personal assistant or I'm an assistant.
But I love being like an assistant, which is why
I think I morphed into a role of a producer
doing radio. So I think that's where that progression came from.
But for you, so.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
For me, my grandfather was a police officer, so when
I was young, I wanted to be either a police
officer or my dad, who was in the army. I
wanted to be in the army. Oh great, great professions.
A lot of people do those. Yeah, And at a
certain point I got as I got older, I realized
I probably wouldn't be good at either of those things,
and so at a certain point I wanted to be
(14:22):
a I want to be I still kind of do
a travel show host.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Oh you should do that on the side court you
could do like a podcast, or you could do it.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Because i'd have to go on vacation all the time.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Oh, we need you here.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
That's kind of what I'm thinking.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Well, I feel like I just dream dashed your dreams. Yeah,
but you're really good at what you do.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
When we need you here, I do. I need to
find this tape. There is a time where my best
friend Steve and I were pretending to be radio DJs.
That's fine, and we've got us on tape pretending to
be DJs. See you were meant to do this, I guess. So, yeah,
that's back when we were like nine or ten years old.
Find that tape. I will find it, and then we'll
have to find a way to play because technology has
(15:01):
advanced a little bit since then. But well, I'm pretty
sure we were. We were talking in or out of
twisted sister, So it's not very it's not very breezy.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Well, we'll figure out a way to make you talk
out of air supply here, all right. It is ask
us anything. We do it every weekday morning at this time.
We have people calling.
Speaker 4 (15:18):
Now.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
You can call it eight seven seven nine eight one
nine eight one. Send us a message with our iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Using that talkback mic as well, and be sure to
join us at eight fifty this morning as you begin
your workday on this Monday, We'll give you ninety eight
minutes of NonStop commercial free relaxing favorites, and again that
starts at eight to fifty. Here on the Morning Breeze,
that is Dan Hartman.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. It is
eight oh six. Happy Monday morning to you.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
So, if there's somebody in your life that's celebrating a birthday,
I've got kind of a suggestion or an idea for you,
a thoughtful gesture you might may be able to make
to these people.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
And this came from your daughter, Sloan. Yeah, okay, my daughter,
Sloan was seventeen years old. Her one of her best friends, Olivia,
have recently had her birthday, and yesterday Sloan came to
me and said, hey, Dad, do we have any windshield wiper?
The windshield washer fluid? Okay, this is just out of
the blue. And I'm thinking that's yeah, and I'm like, oh,
are you out. She's like, I'm not out, but my
(16:19):
friend Olivia is and she's been out of this washer
fluid for like two months. And I'm like, such a teenager,
I know problem yes, And.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
I'm like okay, and she's like so she's like, so
I want to go surprise her at her house and
just go randomly just go fill up her car full
of windshield wiper fluids.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
So Sloan's gonna somehow get over to her friend's house,
pop the hood on her car and just fill up
her That is.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Exactly what she did. She did, She did it. Yeah,
And so I said, let's go out to the garage,
and sure enough I had a fairly new bottle of it.
And then she says to me, how do I do this?
That's so cute. So I had to show her. And
she's got this old little Honda that she drives around
and so we walked through and I, you know, I said,
popped the hood this way and this is where you
(17:07):
fill it up. And luckily enough, her friend Olivia also
drives us a Honda, so very similar. So she drove
over yesterday afternoon. That is so funny. The car was
left unlocked, so she was able to pop the hood
and filled up her wincheld wiper.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Imagine if Olivia looked out the front window and there's
her old Honda's sitting in the driveway or the street
or whatever, and Sloane's got the hood popped and she's
pouring some sort of fluid into the engine. So what
did Sloane knock knock hey, Happy birthday? Cars got fluid
in it?
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Yeah she did. She also took over a little bouquet
of flowers. That's so cute. But I thought it was
the most like just the just this random thing. It's random,
very thoughtful. I was gonna say, it's super thoughtful, and
that's what I love. Those are the best gifts when
somebody especially when it's like I still consider Sloan a
kid even though she's like a.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Teenager but almost eighteen years old. Yeah, I know, but
it's just such a thoughtful thing to do. When you
pay attention to what's going on in someone's life or whatever,
and then you give a gift that compliments whatever that is.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
That's it's typically where people will say, oh, you're a
good gift giver because you've picked up on those littles
that they're obviously not dropping them as hints, but they're
just dropping the you know.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Coming from like Sloan's ability to give good gifts and
pay attention, is it from you?
Speaker 2 (18:26):
It's probably from me.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
I don't want to.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
I don't want to now I think I'm a pretty
good gift giver. I can well, I can't wait to
pick up.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
You give me a good No, you gave me a
good gift. The picture the court has given us a.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
I'm a commemorative collage every time we hit our show anniversary. Yeah,
that's sweet. I'm a I think I would call myself thoughtful.
I'm a decent gift giver. Not quite on the level
of windshield wipe or fluid. But by the way, you
need to be topped off or anything.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
No, I think I'm good, but tell Sloan to be
on standby just in case winters. All right, we're at
eight seven seven one, nine eight one. Catch us anytime
with our iHeartRadio app. The nice thing about our app
with the talkback microphone is you can send us a

Speaker 1 (19:18):

in the middle of the night, and like Carolin and Court,
I was just thinking of them, I have to send
them a message.
