The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on demand.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
That one from Billie Joel six twenty one. It is
the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. Time for the
Morning Breeze Brain teas. This is going to be a
really fun one this morning. Sponsored by my Council Plumbing.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
A survey found that sixty two percent of couples who
have done this at home feel it has helped their relationship.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Okay, I'm hoping we get a couple. Let's see who's
out there. Eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight
one Cedric in San Mateo, Good morning. What is your guess?
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Exercise together?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Exercise together? Okay? Is this something you've done with a
partner in the past, Cedric? Not real extensively, but we have,
I mean, you know, like mild exercises though, like some
shitouts and stuff like that. But I think will be
a reasonable answer.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
I see where you're coming from. I know you know
the story, Cord. Is this the ten yes husband's story again?
So my ex husband, Cedric, one night we went out
to play tennis and I swear he could not hit
the ball with the racket, and I did not understand
the concept of not being able to do that, and
we almost broke up that night.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Right, So is that the answer.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
It's a fun answer, but not the correct one today.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
All right, Cedric, thanks for trying.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Okay, thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
You take care you too.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Okay, Court, we have a couple. Oh we did it
on the line. Yes, we asked for a couple earlier.
We've got Kirsten and Leif. Okay, what do you guys think?
Speaker 1 (01:33):
The answer is, that's what the kids are doing.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
I would like to change the playing games together. Yeah,
well that can make or break you. And I am
here to tell you firsthand.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
How many games of Monopoly have ended in a fight
with a board flip.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, that gets reals with my husband, who is very competitive, right,
learning to allow my wife to win is key sugges.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yes, you're a very smart manly Yeah, I love the
thought process.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Here, not the correct answer. Let's see if this has
ever happened to you, see if you can relate to this.
The survey found that sixty two percent of couples who
have hired a housekeeper say that it has helped their relationship.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Really a housekeeper really what a factor?
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Any answer? You no longer have to worry about who's
going to clean the toilets this week?
Speaker 2 (02:35):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (02:36):
I could see that as being the highest success rate
of helping couples out. Yeah, then there's no arguing who's
doing what exactly. Yeah, you know who's doing it, neither
of you.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
That was fun playing with both of you.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Will make it a good day, you guys will.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Having a housekeeper though, or what do you call housekeep?
House clean house cleaner? That's probably more appropriate.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
You're having a house cleaner.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
There was a brief moment where both my wife and
I were working just crazy hours, and so we decided
we would invest it in when they came once a
month just to do the heavy lifting. Oh yeah, and
it was pretty great, is it? It's pretty great?
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (03:18):
I can imagine with kids, it's such a relief to
have somebody help out in that department.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
But then it becomes that thing, and I know everybody
talks about this. You have to clean the house before
the house cleaner comes because they most time, they don't
pick up stuff, they just clean stuff.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yeah, and you don't want to leave your clutter out,
so they're having to so then you're cleaning. They're not
really cleaning then because you just you get your clutter there,
so you got to clean for the cleaners.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
It makes no sense. All right.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
We're at eight seven, seven, nine, nine eight one The
Morning Breeze Brain Tease. We invite you to join us
and play along every weekday morning. We do it here
at six twenty.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Here's a question for you. Do you think Ed Sheeran
has a house cleaner?
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Ed Shearon has like seven house cleaners, because he has
about seven house it probably does.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Yeah, we bring Ed Cheering up because he's coming to
the Bay Levi Stadium July twenty fifth. Tickets go on
sale tomorrow, but you can win those tickets before.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
You can buy that.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
We've been having so much fun this week giving away
these tickets and we hope you're our next winner eight
oh five, your next chance to win here on the
Breeze Brees.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
It's all for one at six forty one. Here on
ninety eight point one the Breeze. You've got the Morning
Breeze with Carolyn and Court. And if you've ever wondered
why flamingos stand on one leg, go somewhere else. Go
somewhere else, probably watch the Science Channel or maybe Discovery.
Don't come here for that, but if you'd like to
learn a random fact, you should join us right now,
because it's the.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
More you know.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
I am excited about today's the more you know there
is a meal that was a staple for I'm going
to say at least ninety five percent of households back
in the day, and I'm talking seventies and eighties. That's
making a comeback. Do you remember Court Johnson Hamburger Helper?
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Do I remember it?
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Hamburger helper. Families are trying to save on groceries. Hamburger
Helper is cheap. Yeah, it feeds a lot of people.
It tastes.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Pretty good. So here's the deal, people, there's a little
Hamburger Helper hack.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
People are kicking kicking it up when it comes to flavors,
they're adding things.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
This is the thing on social media. And by the way,
Hamburger Helper member went away.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Basically, well, no, it's popular if you're the five percent
that don't know what it came in about. And it's
like noodles and then like you add your own meat.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Typically add your meat. Sometimes depending on the recipe. You
would add milk if it had kind of a oh
I don't remember that. Yeah, Like there's a cheese sauce,
it needs the creaminess of the milk. I do not
think my mom was made aware of that. Well, it
depends it dependent on what kind of was I think
the cheeseburger cheeseburger mac that they had, but basically added
you added the hamburger, and you would add water and
that's all you have.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Yeah, I think that's what my mom did because I
don't remember any flavors. But yeah, and social media people
are like it's a thing now or plussing it up. Yeah,
because they're saying, we can save money, we can really
make something of this. The hamburger helper is the base,
so they're adding ingredients like tomato paste, multiple cheeses. I
saw one. I was watching a video and they added
like three different cheeses. Yeah, look good, onion, spinach, Greek
(06:19):
yogurt to make it cremier.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
What I don't understand, if you're going to the effort
to add all those additional ingredients, why don't you just
do the entire thing from scratch, Because it's really not
that complicated. What Hamberger Helper has been doing for years.
They're just giving you a seasoning packet.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Yeah. I think the season is key though. Yeah, well
I think that's the key.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
You probably have all those seasonings if you if you
have all those other things you were just listening off,
then you've got to have all those seasonings.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Now I'm going to disagree. Sometimes the seasoning packs are
so key you cannot replicate like a Lowry's taco seasoning
on your own. It's not going to taste the same.
Challenge accept Okay, we'll see about that anyway.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
That is the more you know.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Welcome back Hamburger Helper and we do this every weekday
morning at this time six forty. We're at eight seven
seven nine eight one nine eight one tomorrow morning, just
after seven o'clock.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
We hope you can join us.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
We are going to be announcing our next Morning Breeze
Person of the Week. We've been taking your nominations, some
great nominations as always this week.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yeah, this is where we celebrate people in the Bay
Area who are doing great things. That could be a coworker,
a family member, even a stranger. Yeah, but just somebody
doing good. We talk about the good things they're doing.
We also award them Brunch for two on the Bay
courtesy of City Cruises.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
So there is still time to get those nominations in.
You can send them to us. Ninety eight one The
Breeze dot Com. It's Savage Garden seven o six. It
is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. We've got
a brighter side this morning that is just so special.
Can't wait to get to it. By the way, brighter
Side we do it every weekday morning at this time.
We always welcome your brighter sides. Tell us what is
(07:54):
good in your world, makes you happy, You're excited about
something coming up this weekend. We want to hear your stories.
Eight seven seven nine nine eight one sponsored by Shriven
Company Luxury time pieces, find Designers and flawless Diamonds.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
There is a story.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
That's making the rounds on the internet that's it's definitely
gone viral about a eighty year old man from Canada
by the name of John Bradbury. Now John is a
member of a fifteen person softball team. So cute, and
he's the oldest member of this team at eighty years old.
I was going to say, it's not like it's a
softball team with eighty year olds. It's a softball team
of would you say middle aged men? Middle aged men?
Speaker 1 (08:31):
And then John is on the team.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Yeah, and he just loves doing it. The other night,
after a game, he sent members of his team this text.
I think it was like two thirty in the morning.
He basically said how much he appreciates being part of
the team and that he's part of a community of
men that keep him going. Basically saying, you are the
reason that I get out of the bed in the morning.
They give me a friendship, they give me a respect,
(08:55):
they give me a reason to keep on moving a
given day.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
He is a door again, he is. He thanked them
for keeping an old man.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
I'm actually editing his text a little bit here, Yeah,
make it a little more radio friendly.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Oh oh yeah, I know.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
It's basically thank them for allowing him to be on
the team and saying some days are better than others,
but he's dedicated to keep on contributing to the team.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
And you have to.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Think, like, Okay, if you don't know the story and
you haven't seen the video, you're wondering, are the players
on the team, these middle aged men that are on
this softball team. Are they cool with him being on
the team. Are they just being nice? Like they genuinely
love him? This is one of his teammates.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
He thinks he needs us more than we need him.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
He's probably got it backwards because we'd probably be lost without.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
I know it's such a great story. I'm so glad
we could do that today.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
And again, it just goes to show the power of
sport at any age.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Absolutely, And if you're on some sort of team, no
matter what the sport is, and somebody older a lot
younger comes along, like let them be on the team,
Embrace them. You never know what it's going to do
for them, and you may, like these guys did grab
some joy out of it.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
So that's a great one.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
We've got the video for you, by the way, on
our Facebook page at ninety eight when the Breeze if
you want to check John out.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
It's a really sweet story and if you've got a
brighter side, we would love to hear from you. You
can send it on our free iHeartRadio app using the
talkback feature, or give us a call eight seven seven
nine eight one nine eight one.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
And coming up just under an hour from now, we
have your next chance to win those tickets to see
Ed Sheeran when he's at Levi Stadium next July.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Tickets go on sale tomorrow, but you can win them
from us for free before you can buy them. We'll
do that at eight oh five here on the Morning Breeze.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
That one of course from the Temptations.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
It's My Girl seven twenty six Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Cord. Good morning, Thank you for being here. We
appreciate that so much. Every weekday morning at this time
we kind of turn the show around to you and
do ask us anything. It's a chance for you to
call us or send us a talk back with our
iHeartRadio app and ask us literally anything that's on your mind.
(11:01):
Could be that you want to know, you know, you've
got a situation going on in your life and you
just want a second opinion. It could be just a fun,
simple question just to see what we think we're at
eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one,
or send us that talk back with our iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
Today's question comes from Charles in San Bruno. I'm curious
to know if Charles goes by Chuck sometimes.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Okay, well, it's better ask Chuck anything or Charles.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Charles says, Hi, Carolyn in court, here's a question for
ask us anything. What is one thing you will never
do again?
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Get married? Wow? Because you've done it many we'll.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Carry the two wwice. I'm the Elizabeth Taylor radio. Well, no,
I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
No.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
I mean, if the right guy can'try, then yeah, I
don't know, get married.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Get married. We're gonna stick with that answer, I think
for now.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Yeah, me as I will never ever, ever, ever ever,
And kids, listen closely to this. Never use gasoline to
start a fire. It's it's dangerous, it's not safe. Oh yeah,
and you would think this is something that I made
the mistake of in my youth when I was younger
and didn't didn't know better. Yeah, I was in my twenties,
(12:20):
m and I was doing I was doing it was
I was doing a radio stunt. You know how wacky
morning shows do radio stunts. And this is when I
was living in Utah, where I grew up, And it
was just before the two thousand and two Winter Olympics,
and there was no snow, and so we're like, what
are we going to do?
Speaker 1 (12:39):
There's no snow in the valley. This is going to
look really weird. So we came up with this idea.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
We would we would sacrifice a pair of skis to
the ski gods. Oh my gosh, again, wacky morning show.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
That's so bad. So we called the news.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
The news came down to cover this because it was
a slow news day and we had to figure out
a way.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
To light the skis fires on fire, make sure that
they burned.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
And rather than doing the smart thing, which is using
like lighter fluid, buddy of mine said, let's just go
get some gas. And I think the story is so
bad because the key here, people is gas puts off fumes,
and the fumes is what lights. It's not the gas
that lights, it's the fumes. And so he went in
with that match and what happened, I mean like he
(13:22):
lost his eyebrows on live television.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
I can't.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Okay, that's a pretty good story.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Yeah, so again, I will never use gasoline to start
a fire, and nor should you.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Now I don't think anybody will after that. After that,
you should not do it. And we learned the hard way,
all right, it's he learned the hard way. I think
we all just learned the hard way. It's ask us anything.
We do it every weekday morning at this time again,
call us eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one to ask us your questions. Send us that
message with our iHeartRadio AP the talk back Mike.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
And be sure to join us.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Coming up at eight oh five, it's another chance to
win tickets to see Ed Sharon at Levi Stadium July
twenty fifth.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
That's right, it's going to be a great show. Definitely
be here at eight oh five because we're going to
be giving away another pair of tickets on the Breeze.
It's seven forty seven The Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
We are really closing in on eight oh five and
your chance to win those Ed Sharon tickets.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Yeah, if you haven't heard, he's coming to Levi Stadium
next summer July twenty fifth. Tickets go on sale tomorrow
at ten am, but we're giving these tickets away before
you can buy them.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
And I love that.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Our show starts at six am and people are calling
at six am just making sure the lines work that
they can get through.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Yeah, and they do, and you can due in the
math year. I gotta look at the clock here it's
eight forty seven five. You've already lost me or less
than twenty minutes away.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Perfect, Let this hold you over and tell then Ed
Sharon thinking out loud and your chance to win those
tickets at eight oh five.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and congratulations
to you your color twenty.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
You have won.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
It's gonna be excited. Thank you. You are so welcome.
Who are you?
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Where are you listening to us? Wallet Creek a couple of.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Ed Sharon tickets for you, Levi Stadium, July twenty fifth,
thanks to our friends at Messina Touring Group, and tickets
do go on sale tomorrow at ten am at Ticketmaster.
But you just won them before you can buy them.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
That is awesome. Thank you very much. What a great day.
You're about to have great start.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
And we should also point out that there's more chances
to win today at ten oh five and four oh
five of those tickets to see Ed Sheeran before you
can buy them.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Yeah, we're going to do it tomorrow as well. Here
on the Breeze. We were talking very early this morning
and we've been getting calls throughout the morning about this rightfully.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
So it's an important matter.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
It's a very important So do you remember back in
the day hamburger helper, Of course, Everett, we lived on
hamburger helper. That's the box with the noodles and then
you your own hamburger.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
We provide the hamburger seasoning in the box.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
And it was like in the seventies and eighties, all
the moms were cooking hamburger helper own kids.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
It's what we did. Well.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
It's making a comeback. Families are trying to save money
on groceries. Hamburger helper is obviously cheap. It feeds a
lot of people.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
It tastes them good ish.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
You don't have a favorite Hamburger helper flavor. I didn't
know there were multiple flavors. And then you mentioned earlier
today like cheeseburger cheeseburger mac, which is like huge, one
of their biggest ones. They do a beef stroganof.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
I don't think my mom was aware or she cared
because we always had the same hamburger helper. Then they
got creative there for a while where they were doing night.
I think they have chicken helper and tuna helper. Oh, Okay,
Well here's the deal. Hamburger Helper is not only coming
back because it is affordable and you can, you know,
make a lot feed a lot of people on the cheap,
(16:56):
but on social media it's taken off because people are
getting crack it. They're throwing in like added cheeses. There
was one video I saw they had like three different
cheeses in there. They're adding tomato paste. I heard adding
salsa is a really great hack. Somebody uses Greek yogurt
to make it creamy. Sure, so I kind of like
that it's making a comeback.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Plusing everything up. Yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Still can't get over the fact that if you're going
to the effort to add all those extra things to
Hammerger Helper, why aren't you just making something from scratch
to begin with?
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Because I think in a lot of cases with these
boxed meals that you end up cooking. Whatever the spice
or the seasoning is that's in the box is the
key the flavor packet. Yeah, like you can't recreate a
Lowry's taco seasoning.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
I disagree. I think you can. I think if you
know what's in there, you can come up with your
own spice play. I don't think you can.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
I don't know, but anyway, so it's making a comeback
Hereger Helper, welcome back.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Will you be eating it tonight, Carolyn, Nope.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
We're at eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. We love getting your talkbacks. Please continue to
send those. You can do that with our iHeartRadio app.
It's that little microphone button right in the top right
corner of our app. While you're listening to the Breeze.
