Speaker 1 (00:24):
Almost twenty percent of people say their partner has never
done this for them, but twenty five percent say it's
done for them nearly every month.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Dare I say this is a real brain tease today?
You really got to think about this one. It's all
about all right eight seven seven nine eight one oh
nine eight one is how you reach us with your guesses.
You can always send us a message with our iHeartRadio
wapp using that talkback microphone. Twan and walleut Creek, Good morning.
What do you think?

Speaker 3 (00:52):
And the answer is today, make breakfast?

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Make breakfast.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah, So Twin, you told us that you are married
to your wife.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Do you make her breakfast? Meal?

Speaker 4 (01:05):
In our family?

Speaker 2 (01:05):
So I can read between those, does a kids make
breakfast for her on special case?

Speaker 1 (01:15):
And by that you mean they dirty up the kitchen?

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yeah, three hours later.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
That's a solid guest swan, but it is not the
correct answer this morning.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Okay, all right, thanks, I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
All right, Cocoa in San Mateo. What is your guests.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Cook a nice dinner?

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Does your partner cook a nice dinner for you on
the regular?

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Not on the regular, but maybe once a month she.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Does, kay, And we're and we're talking when we're saying
nice dinner, like something that's a little above and beyond
just the regular.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah, Like, what would be a nice dinner? What would
you consider your partner kicking it up?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
I know he knows how to cook steak, so for
for him, a nice dinner would be cooking steak.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Oh that's so sweet.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Which is great because I don't know how cook other meals,
but I don't know how to cook steak.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
So it's like a real treat for you.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
And you know, when when he's like, honey, I go
into the store to buy steak, You're like, here we go,
fancy night ahead.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
It's a solid answer, and it's in the realm of
what we're talking about. Okay, well, not quite correct. Twenty
five percent of people say they get flowers from their
partner every month. Well, twenty percent say, my partner's never
given me flowers.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Coco, you were close, very close.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Yeah, getting flowers and cooking the knights dinner. It's the same.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
If you get both. I would imagine your mind is
just blown. Anyway, Coco, have a good one.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Thank you, guys, was such a great pleasure to talk
to you.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Well, you too, you too, and we hope you have
a great week.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Thank you, great thing.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Oh you're so sweet. When was the last time you
gave Randy flowers?

Speaker 3 (02:53):
It was?

Speaker 1 (02:53):
It wasn't last month, It hasn't been within the last month,
but it was within the last It's definitely within the
last two or three months.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Are you a guy that just brings flowers home randomly
or was there an occasions?

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Typically for an occasion, and oftentimes I'll bring flowers my
wife Randy will get mad at me because flowers are
expensive these days, and she's like, we don't have the
budget for that.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
I have no more questions. Okay, morning, breeze, brain tease.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
We have a very practical love life, right right, right,
God that you will picked up on that, Yes, I will.
We do it every weekday morning at six twenty.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Hey, a programming note that we should bring up here
on the Ring Breeze is coming up at six forty
this morning, something we have done typically later in the show,
we're doing a little switch roo and today at six forty,
ask us anything.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yeah, it feels so weird to say that because we've
been doing it at six twenty five. So we made
a little swap seven twenty five. I'm sorry, seven twenty five,
So we made a little swap. Boy, I'm glad I
confused it even more. That is so great.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
So for those of you who are not familiar with
ask Us Anything, it's a chance for you to call
into the show and ask anything that's on your mind.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
We've had people ask us to be like tie breakers
for them, like should I do this? Or should I
do this? Somebody thinks I should do this? I think
I should do this. What do you guys think it
could be? Do you is a hot dog, a sandwich
or a one of the hot dogs?

Speaker 1 (04:17):
The biggest arguments that's ever taken place here in the
Morning Breeze.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
I mean, anything goes any question on your mind, callus,
we answer it.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
So we are going to do that.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
At six forty we're at eight seven, seven, nine, eight,
one oh nine eight one.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Louise sken Carnes at six forty. Here on ninety eight
point one the Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Court and time now for ask us anything. Your
chance to call into the show and ask anything that
might be on your mind. Anything goes, anything goes. This
one came from Dave and Santa Clara this morning. You couldn't,
of course call us, you could send us a talk back,

(04:52):
but Dave slid into my DMS and said, for ask
us anything, Carolyn in Court, what is the last that
you did for the first time? What is the last
thing you did for the first time?

Speaker 2 (05:04):
So we put this on our Facebook page at ninety
eight one of the Breeze. It's a great question, and
we've got people like Josie said she slept in till
six am yesterday, right, sleeping intil six am.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
I so get that.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Susan did ziplining for the first time. Yeah, what did
you do for the first time on Saturday? I tried
this new exercise routine that I had seen online and
I think it's like tai chi related. I don't know
if it's taichi exactly, but it's a series of different exercises,
super easy motions.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
And I am so sore today.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
You are.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
I did it Saturday and then I also did it yesterday,
and my lower back is sore because I'm moving my hips.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
And my are tightening your core, I am, but.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
I think I was moving in a way that I
haven't moved my body. Oh yeah in a long long time,
and so effect so yeah, So even though it was
a very simple exercise, man, it's really beat me up. Yeah.
What about you? How would you answer this question?

Speaker 2 (06:05):
The last thing I did for the first time, Oh
I had I've never spilled coffee. You know, you hear
those stories about people who, oh I spilled coffee and
it went everywhere.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Sure.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Yeah, I'm always like, ah, that's too bad.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
I had a coffee spilled yesterday, And of course yesterday
was the last day of the Giants season.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
You're grabbing a coffee on the way into order.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
I was like, I'm gonna treat myself. Yeah, I'm going
to go to Starbucks. I'm gonna get a coffee. My
outfit yesterday was white pants and white shoes, right, and
then like an orange top and I went to Starbucks.
I got a venty hot coffee, which I never do.
And you know how the lid on Starbucks there's a
little hole the drink whole thing on the lid.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Yeah, the drink whole.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Yes, yes, that's what I'm sure Starbucks appreciates that. Well,
if you go over, if you hit a bomp or
whatever coffee out the.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Top, you didn't have a stopper in there.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
I didn't have a stopper, so I thought I better
pick this ventie up so that I can.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Well, when I went to pick it up, the cup
somehow it was like a magic trick. It collapsed and
coffee went when I tell you, it went on my dashboard,
my steering wheel, my gear shifter, the passenger seat, certainly,
my lap my shoes.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
So your white pants and white shoes.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
I had to come home and throw them. Now I'm
like late to get to the game, so I'm like,
I got to get out of here. I went and
threw my pants in the washing machine. And I don't
know if there ruined or not. I'll find out when
I get home. I haven't had time to even check
the washing machine.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Wow, what a day.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
If that still hurts even thinking about it. That was
a rough morning, which is why.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
If you see the picture of both you and I
from the game yesterday wearing black pants.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
I had a wardrobe malfunction. Yes, by the way, that
was the cutest picture. And Court, thank you for coming
to the game yesterday. That was so nice. We went
and took a picture on the field. It was really fun.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
You can see. You can see that on our Facebook page.
You can also answer today question asked. Who asked this
question again? Dave and Santa Clair Claire. So Dave asked us,
what's the last thing you did? For the first time,
it's our ask us anything question and we would love
to hear from you as well.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Yeah, we do this every morning now at six p forty.
We're at eight seven seven.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Nine eight one nine eight one coming up this morning
at seven forty, so just under an hour from right now.
Your first chance of many to win tickets to see
Sarah McLaughlin at the Masonic in November. This is the
day after Thanksgiving. By the way.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
She oh yeah, that's right. Whoa She puts on a
fantastic show. How nice that she's going to be here. So, yeah,
be here at seven forty for your chance to win
Sarah McLaughlin tickets on the Breeze Morning.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
It's seven oh nine.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
That's Human League the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord
and it is time for the Brighter Side sponsored by
Shreeven Company, Luxury time pieces, fine designers and Flawless Diamonds.
We want to know what's happening in your life that
puts you in a good mood, makes you happy, you
think about it, and it just brings a smile to
your face.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
It's the easiest measure of what qualifies as a brider said.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
We're at eight seven, seven, nine, eighth, nine to eight one.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Linda in Pleasanten. So we understand you did something pretty
good yesterday. Tell us what you did.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Just donated my car to charity.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
That is awesome, it is that's a huge brighter side.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Yeah, and it's running.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
It had two hundred and fifty six thousand, three hundred
and fifty six miles.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Oh is that all?

Speaker 3 (09:21):
That is very specific?

Speaker 4 (09:22):
Yeah, yes, exactly.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
So here's a question.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
You could have easily sold the car and made some
money off of it, but you chose to donate it.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
So why did you make that choice.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
Well, I wanted to donate the car at least for
somebody who could use it at least what's left of
the mileage.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Yeah, and it probably goes without saying that somebody's going
to be super grateful to receive that car for sure.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Oh, thank you, well, Linda, thank you for calling in.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
We're so glad that you did that. Like you literally
brightened somebody's dead.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
And this was a perfect brighter side.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
So, Carolyn, you said you donated a vehicle just last year.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
My mom's mini van because she obviously is not driving anymore.
I had it for a while, the transmission dropped out,
and I'm like, well, I'm not going to deal with
selling this, so I actually donated it. And what's nice
is they just sold it for parts, so I know
that it like made somebody else happy that they could
use specific parts off of it. I didn't need it
or want it anymore, So donating it you get a

(10:16):
tax right off too.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Yeah. So a lot of different places take vehicles as donations. Sure,
even running and runing, Yeah, running or not if you've
got a brighter side, like Linda. We would love to
hear from you. You can send it to us as
a talkback using our free iHeartRadio app, or just give
us a call eight seven seven nine eight one, nine eight.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
One and coming up at seven forty this morning, we
have a chance for you to go see Sarah McLaughlin,
who's going to be at the Masonic on November twenty eighth.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Pretty exciting show. I'm pretty excited about it. I know
about you, love her so far much.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I know Court will be there and hopefully you will
as well be here at seven forty for your chance
to win Sarah McLaughlin tickets on the Breeze ble Mandaros
with a song.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
You will hear only here on ninety eight point one
The Breeze. It's the morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
Seven twenty eight is the time, and that means it's
time for the More You Know, sponsored by the San
Francisco Symphony, a chance for you to actually learn something
while you listen to the radio.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Yeah, Symphony is the best.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Excited to have the San Francisco Symphony on board. Doesn't
official sponsor of the More You Know?

Speaker 2 (11:21):
You for that you heard me mention that one hundred
percent of us, I'm guessing had one of these back
in the day. But today a survey says that just
one in ten own a free standing clock, free.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Like a like a like a clock, grandfather clock.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Not necessarily that just a clock, a tabletop clock, could
be an alarm clock, could be.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Yes, just a free standing you just have the clock.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
So you're also a clock in your microwaves doesn't work,
there'd be a lot of questions. In the oven doesn't work. No,
a clock something where it's sole purpose and function is
to be a clock.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Yes, let me say that again. A survey says one
in ten of us own a free standing clock.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
All right, I just want to make sure I'm clear
on this.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
By the way, Also in this survey, those under thirty
say they have trouble reading analog clocks.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
I think, uh, we have a free standing clock. That
is a free standing clock.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
In here it's a it's a face clock. Was that
what you would call that with the hands and yep,
things numbers. Yes, it's the hands and things and numbers. Yeah. Well,
my daughters they they there's a course as part of
their curriculum in elementary school where they have to read
clocks and they have to write down with the title,
so it is being taught. But I think if you

(12:42):
don't like have a watch, and you don't have one
of these in your house, then it's trip. It's not great.
We inherited a grandfather clock my wife and I, oh wow,
her grandfather built because they used to be kits. I
think they could. You'd buy in like the Sears roebook catalog. Yeah,
my grandparents had one too, same thing you put it together.
It's in our garage, which it just doesn't. It doesn't
fit our aesthetic.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
I know some of those are worth a lot, though
I know they are, and they're heavy.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
As all get out. You might as well be moving
a piano.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
And I love the fact that when you hear the chimes,
if you know how to hear the chimes, you can
you know what time of day it is just by
hearing the chimes. You didn't have to look at it.
So neat.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
It kind of makes me want one of those.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
I don't know whatever happened my grandparent's clock, but I
was thinking about when we're talking free standing clocks, do
you remember the old alarm clocks that used to use
as a kid to wake you up for school.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Yeah, and they had that faux wood grain on the
on the sides. I don't are you talking about? The
one was like a Mickey mouse, like a face chot
with the bells on top of Yes, the bells.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
That thing would ring. It would be about ero point
five seconds. You would go from your bed to the
ceiling like that thing. If you didn't wake up from that,
you may you might have you might have died, right,
And it would shake, it would shake itself off your nightstand.
Ye right, but yeah, that's what they say. One in
ten own a free standing clock these days. So I'm
definitely thinking.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Wheat, we don't have one in our house, so we're
part of the ninety percent that I don't think I
do either.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yeah, it is what's this called?

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Again?

Speaker 3 (14:07):
The more you know, the more you know.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
We changed week We moved it used to be earlier
in the show, and we've moved it to this time
of day. So come back tomorrow. We'll remember the name,
one of names.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
Will.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
I'm gonna nail it tomorrow and.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
You're going to learn something more tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
It was a very busy weekend in my defense, all right,
coming up in just a few minutes.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
We are very excited about this.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Sarah McLaughlin is going to be coming to the Masonic
in San Francisco in November, and we have a chance
for you to be there.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
We're doing this every day this week. Yeah, so winn
apair tickets for free courtesy of The Morning Breeze. Next
coming up here on the Morning Breeze.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
It's The Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. You did it.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
You're our first winner of the week and we have
two tickets for you to go see Sarah McLaughlin.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
Way to go. Oh sweet, Yes, I love Sarah McLachlin.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
Yoh, she's fantastic. The venues great, You're going to have
a wonderful time.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Tell us who you are and where you're calling from.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Hey, my name is Joe and I'm calling from Berkeley
right now.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
All right, Joe, You've got yourself two tickets to see
Sarah McLaughlin at the Masonic in the city on November
twenty eighth. It's all courtesy of Live Nation. Tickets are
on sale, by the way right now and Ticketmaster and
Joe just heads up, this is the day after Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Oh, no problem day.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
All right?

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Joe's like, I can't wait to get away from my family.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Well, I mean he didn't say that, but I'm just
I'm helping.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Sure, am helping.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Carry was reading between the lines.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
And by the way, we'll give away more tickets later
this week, all week long. At seven forty here on
the Morning breaths whole.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Thing, Celine Dion because you loved me. It's eighth nine,
Good morning, Happy Monday morning too. It's the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Corey.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Had something awkward happened yesterday, Carolyn on the way to
the final Giants game of the year.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
I cannot wait to hear this story.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
So I'm walking down the street and ahead of me,
I see this family and one of the kids is
wearing a University of Oregon sweatshirt. Okay, and I don't
know if you watch college football, but Saturday night was
a thriller back east or the University of Oregon against
Penn State went into overtime, Oregon pulls it off. So
I see this kid with the jersey or that the

(16:12):
sweatshirt on. I thought I'm gonna bring it up. I'm
going to walk them. So I walked by, I see
I verify that it's a University of Oregon sweatshirt.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
And this kid is you said it earlier a time, fifteen,
sixteen years old. He's there with his dad and his
mom already nervous and.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Say, I say, how about that game? Huh? And he
just looks at me like I don't Like. He's like,
what are you talking about? Like the game last night
they pulled it off in overtime and he's like yeah.
And then I realize he's not a University of Oregon fan.
He's just doing what kids are doing these days and
finding sweatshirts at the thrift shop and just wearing them.

(16:49):
He has no allegiance to the Oregon Ducks. He's just
wearing the sweatshirt.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Oh my gosh. Did his parents say?

Speaker 1 (16:56):
They kind of just laughed it off too, They're like,
what's he talking about?

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (16:59):
How that nobody knew that they? You know, the Ducks
had pulled it off the night before. And I remembered,
and I realized that my own daughter, Sloan, seventeen years old,
senior in high school, does the exact same thing. Wear sweatshirts, wear.
She has no allegiance. You'll see her walking around one
day with an Ohio State sweatshirt on. The next time,
she's got an Oklahoma State sweatshirt on, or an Oklahoma

(17:23):
University of Utah sweatshirt the other day.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
I was gonna say, you had the old man move
right there. But the fact that you actually knew what
was happening, it takes you out of that cat it brought.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
I should have I should have known that that was
what was going to happen. A good chance this kid
is not a Ducks fan, but was just picked up
that sweatshirt at the thrift shop. That's really like my
own daughter.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Huh, That's exactly.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
How it went.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
Anyway, Enjoy the giants, and.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
You'll see this all the time. You'll see younger, younger kids.
It's typically you know, the teens kids these days, and
they'll have like a like a school shirt on, but
they have no allegiance whatsoever. They just thought it was
a great looking sweatshirt that they got at the you know,
at the clearange store.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
You have a benefit because you have kids, so you
know this. If this were me with no kids, I
didn't know that that's a thing, right, I would have
probably tried to talk to them even longer and made
it worse. So at least you saw yourself out of that.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
Yeah, oh that's so.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
As soon as I got the glazed over look for him,
I'm like, all right, I know what's happening, no idea,
what's going on.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
We're at eight seven, seven, nine eight one. Send us
a message any time with our iHeartRadio app, and coming
up later this hour, just as you're getting set to
start your day, whether you're working in the office, you're
at home, you're driving a ride share vehicle, we're going
to be commercial free.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Yeah, ninety eight minutes of non stop, commercial free, relaxing favorites,
and we'll kick that off at eight fifty here on
the Morning Breeze
