this time because we get to announce our latest Morning
Breeze Person of the Week, people that were nominated by you,
those special people in the Bay Area that go above
and beyond for you personally, maybe you see them go
above and beyond for other people. We want to highlight them.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
This week, it was Liz who nominated Morgan to be
the Morning Breeze Person of the Week, and Liz joins
us now on the phone. Liz, tell us why you
nominated Morgan.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Morgan's amazing. She's been working at Cancer Care Point for about,
I don't know, almost a decade, and she's so involved
with all the clients there. She's really such an advocate
for people going through cancer and their families, and she's
like always trying to get out and meet everybody and
(00:52):
you know, find new opportunities to tell people you know
about what they're doing there, and I just I have
so much respect for her and what she's doing.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
I think that's a familiar characteristic of people who work
for nonprofits, as they their passion is because of what
they're doing that's there. They're not looking for the accolades
but when they go and do the things that sounds
like Morgan's doing on the regular that she deserves to
be recognized for it.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Yeah, she's such an advocate and anytime you know she
she has the opportunity to kind of talk to people,
and she she always wants to, you know, bring people
in and she's a wonderful, wonderful woman.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
So, Liz, we just brought Morgan up on a different line.
She has not heard anything we've just talked about, So
why don't you tell her why we're calling.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
So, Morgan, I nominated you for that Breeze's Person of
the Week because I was just so enamored with how
wonderful you are with all the clients and it's really
inspiring to see what you do cancer care point for everybody.
I know sometimes you don't always take the accolades and
(02:05):
you like to spotlight board members and other people, but
I was hoping you could get some recognition for all
the hard work you're doing.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
WHOA thank you. It's not work when you do what
you love, and everybody says that, but it's like it's
such a privilege to be able to serve our community.
So really, thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Morgan, what kind of brought you to this world to
head up Cancer Care Point.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
So my first memory is my grandma had cancer when
I was very, very little, and I remember staring at
her the wigstand. She had to get a wig because
she had to keep working while she was going through treatment.
And I didn't know it at the time, but it
was almost impossible for her to find a wig.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
She had to find it on her own.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
There was no organizations like ours, and so, you know,
as a little kids, you sit there and you stare
at this like very state. There's just a word thing
and there's hair in it.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Like what is that? You know?
Speaker 3 (03:04):
So that was the sum total of.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
My understanding of cancer that throughout my whole life. Cancer
impacted our family because her survivorship it was hard. It
was hard for her to recover, and it was a
conversation that was constantly had in our family. And then
I found Cancer Care Point and it focused on the
needs of the clients and it was driven by input
(03:27):
from the community and input from the clients and just
focus on wellness and healing. And I thought, oh, full circle.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
So, Morgan, because you're always doing such good things for
other people, we here at the breeze, and Liz want
to do something really nice for you, which is send
you out on a cruise of the Bay for brunch
one morning, courtesy of City Cruises.

it's so quiet on the bay right and you're just

Salsolito on one side, you've got Oracle Park, You've got
the San Francisco Skyline.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
It's just so much fun. And the food is so good. Yeah,
you might have a mimosa in your hand while this
is all happening, or multiple.
