Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, the Morning Breeze on Demand. Good morning,
Happy Friday to you Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord.
As promised, we are going to get right into the
Morning Breeze Person of the Week. This is something we
do every Friday morning, where we've taken your nominations. It's
now time for the big reveal.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Celebration of great people in the Bay Area doing good things,
but oftentimes not being recognized for those things. Right.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
We got so many good nominations this week, but we
have settled on Julie, who nominated Jamie.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah, and Julie actually joins us on the phone. Julie
tell us about Jamie.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Oh. Jamie runs a local rescue in crock At, California.
It's a cat sanctuary and she works her butt off
for these cats and scares for I'm gonna cry.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
It's okay.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
You have two huge animal fans on the phone with you,
so we so understand it's a safe place.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Cry away, please yes, yes.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
So she runs to rescue and she cares for animals
until they're able to get adopted out. She cares for
many many sick animals as well, and she is always
raising funds to try to care for these animals who
otherwise wouldn't have a chance.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
I think the animal rescue is one of the hardest
things and it's one of the most important things. Again
coming from two animal lovers, but I can't imagine the
stories and the experiences that you guys have.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
It's a true labor of love. Yeah, it has to be.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
It really is. It really is. She does it all
and I just feel like she deserves a break, which
she never did.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Julie, how do you know, Jamie? What's your relationship with Jamie?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
I reached out and adopted a cat through Jamie's rescue,
and then one thing led to another and we became friends.
She's just an amazing human being. In fact, I think
today is her birthday, you know. Isn't that great.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
I'm on her Facebook page now Bitten by a Kit
and Rescue.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Yeah, such an important organization here in the Bay Area.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
I always have such a special place in my heart
for people that do animal rescue.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Yeah, West, she is a very special person. I tell
you that.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I think we can all agree that she's very deserving
of this award she has.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
So, Julie, we're gonna put you on hold and see
if we can't get hold of Jamie.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
All right, hold on one sack, good morning, hears. This
is this Jamie. Yeah, hey, Jamie, this is Carolyn and
Court from ninety eight point when the Breeze.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
We've also got your friend Julie on the line with us. Julie,
why don't you tell Jamie why we're calling this morning.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
I nominated you for Person of the Week for all
that you do for the rescue for the community. So
I'm crying. It's my first unity. Guy, I know what
I'm trying to So it's sometimes we can cry together
and are really real week and.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Joy here.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
I thank you.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
We should probably summarize kind of what has happened here
is that every week on Fridays we award somebody in
the Bay Area the Morning Breeze Person of the Week.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Your nomination from Julie really stood out to us about
everything that you do forbidden by a kid and the
cutest name ever.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Well, I am here the rescue from a friend of mine,
the tide of cancer, and I thought to keep it going.
So you have no idea what this means to me.
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Oh my goodness. Well, I mean it goes without saying,
but thank you for everything that you do for all
of the kittens and the cats in our Bay Area community.
It's got to be a huge undertaking that just seems
endless at times, and you've got peaks and valleys, but
you keep doing it and we're so grateful for you.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Thank you, God, thank you.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
You're entitled to do it. I just think you know
as somebody and I know we both have adopted animals
from from rescues, and you're bringing these special animals into
your home and they've been through trauma and they've been
through things, and that alone is a challenge as a
pet owner. But you, as somebody who runs a nonprofit
a cat sanctuary, you're dealing with this on the regular.
(04:25):
Just you're a special, special person, Jamie.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
We're going to bring some smiles to your faces this morning, Okay,
We're What we want to do is we are going
to give you a morning off Sunday morning. We're going
to send you out on the Bay on a city cruise.
So you're going to go out on one of their
beautiful boats. You're going to bring a guest, have some brunch,
drink some mimosas, eat some pancakes and French.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Toast and all the good things.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Everything you want for breakfast, and just go enjoy some
time away.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Oh my god, thank you. You need it. I definitely
need it. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
I just found you on Facebook bitten by a Kit
and Rescue, and The Breeze is officially following you now
on social media.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
I'll be following you, guys, and we'll recommend everybody else
go and check it out on Facebook because they can
find out more about your rescue and even donate if
they'd like to help out.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Yeah, thank you, Thank you guys. Thank you guys for
blessing her. I really I'm so my heart is warm.
