This week it is Kathleen who's nominating her daughter Tonay
to be our Morning Breeze Person of the Week.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
And we've got Kathleen on the phone. Kathleen, tell us
why you nominated today.
Speaker 4 (00:16):
Back during the recession, I was in aviation and got
laid off like ten times in five years. And I
have my children are ten years apart. Tonay's the oldest.
The youngest is Gabrielle. During that time, things got really crazy,
and Denay stepped in and took care of her sister,
took her in all that and then about I want

to say, ten years later. She had epilepsy as a child,
so she was nine, but then it went away for
twenty years. Then when she was twenty nine it resumed. Anyway,
her sister has been her caregiver ever since.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
So today has been the caregiver to your other daughter.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
To Gabrielle. Gabriel works. Yeah, the kind of epilepsy that
is what they call it breaks through the medicine, so
it's kind of uncontrolled. But thank god, you know, it's
like every two months, every three months, but it's devastating.
So today has been my angel. They're both my angels.
But Toy has been a saint to her sister and

her husband as well. But today has done this primary caregiving,
and I just wanted to acknowledge her.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
You know, yeah, it sounds like Tonay stepped in at
a time in your life where you weren't able to
care for your daughter the way you wanted to. But today,
you know, being the older sister, she was right there
ready to go.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
She was right there, ready to go, and has been
with us. She lives with today. They're just as tight
as you could be.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Well, it says a lot about you, too, Kathleen, that
you've raised her well, two really great daughters.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
Oh, thank you, thank you. They're very loving human beings.
I'll tell you that, I really really are.

Is she working right now? If we try to call her?
Do you think she would answer the phone?

You know, she goes out in queen's houses, so she
has her own business, So just be very male.

I just wanted to say how grateful I am you
were born to me. You know, never wanted or got
another blessing as much as I have had in you,

know that. So I heard about this and I said,

so welcome. I love you so much. That's so cool.

She was telling us about how you take care of
Gabrielle and what an amazing sister you are to her,
and of course what a great daughter you are.

like that person goes above and beyond and does great
things for others in their lives or just in general
in the Bay Area. And you are this week's Morning
Breeze Person of the Week.

But today there's a little bit more to this because
we also like to do something for you that you
might not normally do for yourself, which is give you
the day off one Sunday morning, go have brunch on
the bay courtesy of City Cruises.

You're gonna go out on one of their beautiful boats,
have some breakfast, take some time off, and let people
wait on you for once.

We were saying, you know so much before we brought
you on the phone, like obviously, what a great daughter
you are, and we were saying it comes from your mom.
I mean, she's done a wonderful job raising you, I
would imagine for sure.
