(00:00):
The Morning Breeze Morning Breeze on Demand, Caroline McCardell Court Johnson, what sad
news. You and I were actuallytogether yesterday, Cord at the time that
we found out about Tina Turner's passing. Yeah. Yeah, I think it
may become one of those times whereyou remember where you were when certain people
died. I remember where I waswhen Michael Jackson died. I will remember

(00:22):
eating lunch with Carolyn said, Iknow, eighty three years old. She
apparently had a long fight with multipleillnesses that they didn't go into detail,
totally find to respect her privacy. But Tina was just such an icon.
And as this morning we hear allthe tributes pouring in from all of the
celebrities that came in contact. Imean, I think about the first person

(00:45):
I thought about was Oprah Winfrey. What a Tina fan she was. And
when you can take a celebrity likea Beyonce or an Oprah Winfrey that when
Tina is in their presence, theymelt, That's when you know you were
someone a true superstar like she wasjust as big as they come. And
I think she connected the audiences inways that few performers do. Just because

(01:07):
of where she came from her journey, like the struggle she had in her
life. And you know, evenpeople like me who I wasn't into her
music right away as a younger kid, but man I loved her on Mad
Max Beyond Thunder. Oh yeah, that was the thing too. She could
act, Yeah, she could act, she could say, she could act.
She was beautiful. I have seenmore Tina Turner concerts than any other

(01:27):
artist because I used to go withmy mom. And that was the great
thing. Was Tina kind of transcendedamongst all you know, all ages,
right, So many girls and theirmoms went to Tina's shows together, especially
in her heyday when she was doingthe legs to her Oh my gosh.
So I just think she is tremendouslygoing to be missed, such a special

(01:49):
individual. It was way back inthe early two thousands. I was,
of course going down a Tina turnedher rabbit hole last night watching all of
her old interviews and videos, andshe talked about her legacy, stay on
course, so we stay focused, never smoking, never drinking, never doing
drugs. My legacy is that Istayed on course from the beginning to the
end because I believed in something insideof me that told me that it can

(02:15):
get better, or you can makesomething better, and that I want it
better. So my legacy is aperson that strived for wanting it better and
got it incredible. I do too, I mean just an icon, a
true icon,
