Bob and Steves, BPAMA COO Stout, Kraftco Kitchen and Tabs,
and Wisconsin Credit Union.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Now live from the Max Barker Pressbox at Don and
Nona Williams Stadium. Here's the voice of the Blue Devils,
Pete Knutson, down.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
A no to Williams Stadium here on the campus of
the University of Wisconsin Stout. M Menominee. We welcome you
to Week four of the twenty twenty five WIAC football
season as we get set for a homecoming matchup hitting
the UWS Stevens point pointers at three and three overall,
oh and three in conference against the number twenty four
ranked UW Stout Blue doubles at four and two on
the season, two in one in conference play. Hello, everybody,
(01:02):
I'm peaking. It's and Joe Zadowski is with me. Yes,
I don't have to talk to myself for three hours.
I'm pretty excited about that the superintendent of Menominee Schools
and color commentator for Monomne High School football as well.
Happy to have Joe along with us, and Joe fun
to be here of course at Donald O'nanwilliams Stadium. As
we now get into kind of the last stretch of
(01:23):
this WIAC season, it's gonna be a fun one. It's
homecoming Monomie. Kind of a buzz today with all the
different things going on, certainly in town. But man, this
should be a fun matchup between these two teams and
a good chance for Stout to kind of get back
on the right track after a loss last week against
Whitewater Pete.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
It's a great day for football. This day is made
for football. It's a little overcast, not windy, you know,
a little rain earlier this morning, but looks like it's
kind of clear enough a little bit. And you gotta
love these temperatures, especially if you're a defensive guy ready
to believe some hits today.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Yeah, as you said, it's.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
A little cloudy, a little overcast.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
There was some rain earlier, but it's moved through. We
shouldn't get much rain during the game today. Cloudy, but yeah,
fifty degrees we'll get a little bit of a windshell
going on here, and we at least are a warm
ish up in the booth here as well, which will
always take too. You're a hunting guy, so you're used
to being out in this me I'd much rather be
in a heated building if I could be, So you do.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Well with it, Pete. I got my job done early
this year. I'm not gonna have to go sit out
there in the cold. Oh nice, I already begged the deer.
You don't have to worry about it. I'm a fairweather hut.
You're smart. You're a smart hunters.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Again. This Blue Devils team comes in tough loss last week.
They were only down three zero at halftime to Whitewater.
They ended up losing the game thirty four to two.
The only points they got were a safety in the game.
But of course, that kind of a big win that
they had against Oshcosh a couple of weeks ago is
put them into the national conversation. You've got six teams
right now out of the eight teams on the WIAC
(02:45):
who are ranked in the top twenty five. It is
really anybody's yak to win here in these last four
weeks and South's gonna have some tough tests coming up.
The Stevens Point team h and three on the season.
They've got some good players and some guys that we'll
talk about. Charlie Smith, their quarterback pricing passion, will be
the guy to look at. But you know, you look
up and down the list. I mean the Stevens Point
(03:06):
team eighth in the conference, bottom of the conference, a
total offense and total defense as well that they have struggled.
So you would think, Joe, that this would be a
day that stout, especially with the offense and they love
to of course go through the air, that they could
potentially score a lot of points today.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Yeah, and you do have to remember it is homecoming.
It's not like a high school homecoming, but it's still
a big deal. And you know, everyone's schedule is just
a little bit different. There's a little bit different buzz.
And if you're Stold today, you want to get out ahead.
You know you're probably the favorite. You want to get
ahead and control the game right away. You don't want
to give Stevens Point any room to breathe the That's
the last thing you need for an underdog is we'll
let them feel like they.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Have a chance and that is exactly what Coach played
Birmingham talked with us about before the game. We will
take a quick break. We'll come back with Coach Birmingham's
interview right after this here on your home for Blue
Double Football.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
The uw Stout Blue Devils pregame show continues next on

It's always a fantastic day at Colfax Chevallet.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
We're back on the Bob and Steve's Bpmaco Shops pregame show.
Now here's uw Stout head Coach Clay Birmingham and Coach
Clay Birmingham now joins us as we get set for
uw stout taken on Stevens Point here on homecoming coach,
we appreciate you as always taking some time with us,
and all right, so get a little bit longer a
week obviously with that Friday night game against Whitewater and
(04:56):
you get set for Stevens Point today. You know, one
of those games where against white Water at first half offensively,
you guys did kind of.
Speaker 7 (05:03):
Everything you wanted to do.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
I'm sure you didn't execute some things on offense that
you wanted, and then things kind of got away in
that second half a bit. And I know there's no
moral victories or anything like that, but now thirty four
to two doesn't seem to really tell the story of
that game. I felt like you guys were much more
in that game throughout. What was kind of the message
to the team and what was the kind of you know,
what do you take away from a game like that
(05:25):
as you move forward in these final four games?
Speaker 7 (05:27):
Yeah, you know it was. It was a tough, tough game.
Speaker 8 (05:31):
You know, we hung in there tough for three nothing
at halftime and until we missed some opportunities there, especially
late in the half with the other interception right down
and they come away with zero points. You know, one
thing I like about the team is they it hurt.
You know, it was a it was a game that
when that game was done, it hurt. It was a
could your pin drop in the in the locker room
(05:53):
and on the bus ride home. And that's that's a
good good sign that you know, these guys it matters
to them.
Speaker 7 (05:58):
So you know, there's been.
Speaker 8 (06:00):
Other years were a loss like, oh well we lost
and let's move on. But you don't want it to
hurt for that game. So we went into a tough environment,
right It's it's not easy to play on the road
any place in this league.
Speaker 7 (06:12):
It's really hard to play there. You know. The Friday
night thing was tough.
Speaker 8 (06:17):
It's a different throws a wrench in the whole system,
you know, having to travel. You can't stay over night
down there, you know, because it's a seven pm game,
So you can't stay over right Thursday night or else
be sitting around for six hours doing nothing.
Speaker 7 (06:29):
So it's a test.
Speaker 8 (06:31):
You know, you gotta kind of travel that same day.
You know, we're used to playing at one and you
play at seven. So there's a lot of adversity. Our
guys that overcome to get down there, so but I
think we handled it good. We just didn't execute like
we thought we should and and there you go. We've
been playing down there. You know, I forgive about these
Friday night games. Last time we played a Friday night
(06:53):
game down there was twenty eleven and I was a
second year head coach and not what the hell I
was doing it in first place. But it's tough. It's
it's something that you know, I think, well that we
bring it up every year, but it's got to be changed.
Speaker 7 (07:06):
I mean, if we're the w i A C.
Speaker 8 (07:08):
It' supposedly one of the best conferences in the nation,
and we can't figure it out to schedule how not
to schedule.
Speaker 7 (07:13):
Them a home game when they have band weekend. There's
there's a problem there.
Speaker 8 (07:17):
So it's not fair to any opposing team. You know,
I'm going to bring it up them next year they
come up here on Friday night and in CLA like
it so because it is it plays a factor in
the game. And that's not an excuse, it's just the
reality of it. But we got played better either way.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
Well, I guess the one positive coming out here is
you go to these final four games, is that everybody's
beating up on each other at the top of the
w I A. C. You got a six way tie
for first place right now, two and one.
Speaker 9 (07:46):
And you got it. I think you know, we said
this last year.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
I think going in the last three games that you
kind of had everything right in front of you if
you wanted to win the conference. So you know, even
though it's a it's a tough loss and everybody's down,
which is you know, a good thing to motivate going forward,
you still got everything, like you say, right in front
of Is that Is there a message about that? I
know you guys like to keep it, you know, one
game at a time, But is there any kind of
messaging about, hey, let we just say the course will
(08:11):
be fine?
Speaker 7 (08:12):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 8 (08:13):
I mean they know everybody looks at the standings and
the schedules and who's coming up next, and everybody schemes
it up.
Speaker 7 (08:19):
But uh no, it is.
Speaker 8 (08:21):
It's gonna be a dogfight, and it's uh it's gonna
be the team that can stay healthy and the team
that can run the ball efficiently. Now because the weather's
going to change and it's gonna be a little different
game than it was the first five games where it's
nicer weather.
Speaker 7 (08:38):
So all that stuff plays in the factor with you know,
the end of the year, and that's what makes it
so fun at the end. And you know, our whole
thing is, you know, obviously, look we're only looking one
game ahead and point see way that we care about
right now and take care of business. But you kind
of get to look at as a coach, you kind
of got to look at the whole duration of it
and how are we doing health wise and and weather wise,
(08:59):
like to learn how to run the ball. We can't
run the ball.
Speaker 8 (09:03):
It's gonna be a tough sliding So you know, our
coach still working hard, get better and along with the
players and move on.
Speaker 7 (09:13):
Talk about it.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
The week of the Eau Claire game, you know, a
lot of distractions that week. Does homecoming bring distractions or
is one of those where you you just kind of
sit back and say, this would be a fun week
because there's obviously that you're gonna be honoring some past
championship teams during this game, and there's been a lot
of I'm sure you know, excitement around campus for that.
Is it a distraction type of thing or you just
(09:34):
try to embrace it and try to, you know, make
sure these guys kind of take it all in and
enjoy the homecoming environment.
Speaker 7 (09:41):
Yeah, I think a little of both. It is different week, right.
Speaker 8 (09:46):
You get a lot more lumps coming back, and I
think it's more probably more texting on the coaches, because
you know, the lums that come back reach out to
you like, hey, what are you doing Friday night?
Speaker 7 (09:55):
Or what are you doing? You busy Friday? Or you
you know what do you know?
Speaker 8 (09:59):
They all want to talk to you Saturday too, So
it is a little bit more distractions, if you will,
But it's a good thing. It's fun to get alumni
back and see everybody and have the energy and and
just to see the guys that you know, came before,
all of our current players that walked in their shoes
before and tell a little stories.
Speaker 7 (10:18):
And there'll be a couple of guys that practice.
Speaker 8 (10:19):
Tonight and we'll then talk to the team and so
that's always always fun to to just to see everybody again.
So no, I'm looking forward to it. I mean, there's energy,
there should be a big crowd, should be decent weather.
It's gonna be a little cooler than what they expected
earlier in the week, but it should be a good game.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
I know for you as well, And I think I
asked you about it at least each year when you
play Stevens Point, you.
Speaker 9 (10:42):
Know, you playing your alma manor in that way.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
I actually went through and great, you know, our great
friend Lane Pitt did a great job keeping stats back then,
so I went through twenty two total tackles for you,
a pick sack in the four games you played against
Stout as a Pointer, do.
Speaker 9 (10:59):
You get Do you think about those days you were
four and.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
Oh against South back then when you were playing defensive
back for Stevens Point. Do you think about those days
in those games when when Point comes to town or
when you go to Stevens Point.
Speaker 8 (11:12):
Yeah, I think there's always a little special place in
your art for your alma mater. But you know, I
just got asked this last night actually, and uh, some
random guy that I didn't even know came up to
me to say, you're playing a lot of all the matter,
and uh, yeah, it is. It's it's kind of the
first when I first started coaching, it was really weird.
But then after within time, it just becomes another opponent,
(11:34):
and you know, it's it's kind of It's kind of
sucks because you know, as a lum, I want to
go back to my school too, but it's kind of
you can't go back and get the experience with the
football program because you are the enemy now. So that's
what's the downside of it. But I always, you know,
always have les still have my purple and gold pop
(11:55):
packed away in the box downstairs, and I won't be
pulling that old for all. Well, but it's good memories
and yeah to still memories. We played on Nelson Field
and I can rewind a lot of that mental video
in my head of a playing still and it's been
new fun years and we have some good teams back
then for Stevens Points, so hopefully we just keep beating them, right.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
So, well, you look at the Stevens Point team and
you know, it's kind of similar to a Claire in
the sense that they won their three non conference haven't
haven't been able to get a win in conference yet.
They've got a great running back in Bryce and Cash
and certainly there I think he's probably the guy you
guys key in on what are the keys of the
game for you all to pick up a win and
try to get to those final three games of the
(12:36):
season in this position for you to make some noise.
Speaker 7 (12:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (12:41):
Yeah, they have some good, good players and they are
they are improved from last year. I like what they
do both offensively and defensively. You know, it's funny broadcast.
And I played with his dad at Stevens Points so
and I also played with the good linebacker Baron's kid.
Speaker 7 (12:56):
His dad was at the point of them as well.
Speaker 8 (12:58):
So it's kind of neat and you just realize how
old you are when all these kids are your buddies
kids are playing. So no, they're good, they're respectful and
and they're they're they're getting better at each game.
Speaker 7 (13:11):
So you know, it's it's back to the w i C.
Speaker 8 (13:15):
Man throw another couple of games in there that are
good teams as well, you know what I mean.
Speaker 7 (13:19):
So it's going to get back to and then they're
only gonna get better.
Speaker 8 (13:22):
Right, I mean, they got young, they got a young
coaching staff, and it's just going to take time for
them to get their recruits in and get better and.
Speaker 7 (13:29):
Then it'll be another seven man dog dog fight or
a man.
Speaker 8 (13:33):
So it's it's a fun to watch them progress, but
you know, we still need to get in there, play
a good, good football game, and against teams like this,
you need to jump on them early and kind of
squash any type of hope.
Speaker 7 (13:46):
And if you let them hang around, that's when you know.
Speaker 8 (13:49):
That's when the they're in striking distance, that's when you
more susceptible to things. But so I'm confident our players
are gonna be ready and we're gonna come out and
play a good games.
Speaker 9 (13:59):
So all right, looking forward to a coach. Appreciated as always,
and good.
Speaker 7 (14:04):
Luck today, all right, appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Our thanks to head coach Clayton Birmingham for joining us
in the Bob and Steves Btpmaco Shops, pregame show, starting
lineups and more are coming up right after this on

Speaker 1 (14:58):
It is indeed uwslth football.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
We are getting ready for football here on the WIAC
Sports Now we're a getting our friends at Newstock WM
E QAMA eighty Menominee Translator, W two nine two e
g O Claire one oh six point three FM and
iHeart Radio Station. A special thanks to Josh and his
and Natalie and their great crew up here for the
WAC Sports Network and of course to our friend Dan
Price back on the radio side making things happen here
(15:21):
today as well. Again, a cloudy, overcast day, but it
is homecoming, and homecoming I think if it's high school,
if it's college, doesn't really matters. Always going to be
a fun opportunity to come out and see your team.
And boy, you see a lot of people having a
fun time in downtown Monominee today with the parade and
all the good stuff happening here through throughout the city
and throughout the community as well. All Right, we look
(15:42):
at the starting lineups for both teams and they look
like this. We'll start with the Blue Devils again. Adam
Moan out of Lake Mills leads this team, forced out
one eight out of one eighty eight passing this season
fifty seven percent for thirteen hundred and seventy one yards.
He has nine touchdowns but nine interceptions, which got picked
off a bunch last week. See Chase Hughes is the
running back here as well for the Blue Devils. He
(16:04):
will start there. We hope to see some Chandler Ross
in this game as well. He's been the big power
back for the Blue Devils. Davante Evans I have Ron
Carter and Keon Maggott are the starters. Believe Kate Tappan
maybe the starting receiver instead of Keon Maggot. There the
freshman Tapping getting back into the game last week against
Whitewater after coming back from an injury. Mason Frank is
(16:26):
your tight end, the junior who has sixty yards receiving
this season. Up on the line, Menomine native there in
Ben Bistol the left tackle at six four and eighty
five pounds. Sam Brief is the left guard. TJ. Scott
is at center, Andrew David at right guard. And then
a kin from just down the road in Poklair North
High school in Dalton, Mondo. He is the right tackle,
his brother being recruited to a Division one schools right
(16:48):
now as well up on the line, So a very
good football family there. Indeed defensively for the Blue Devils,
they will line up as follows and not a lot
of changes here to the Blue Devils from last week either.
They stayed relatively healthy after that tough game against Whitewater.
Will be Matt Blank up on the line along with
Walker Byral and Owen Christen now on the line for
(17:11):
the Blue Devils. It is the linebacking crew of Kramer,
seidel On, Schneider and show Air who were up there
as well. The corners are Gavin Goodman Jesse Ellis. The
safeties are Dawson Goodman, the Goodman brothers Air from chai
Hi and Brooks Brewer the All American from right here
in Monominee. We'll get to the Stevens point pointer lineup
(17:33):
here as well. Charlie Smith is the quarterback. The senior
at six three hundred eighty five pounds. Bryce at Cashon
is the guy to watch, good runner four hundred nine
yards already on the season. The senior at five pout
ten to two hundred pounds as well. Braydon we Check
is the receiver to keep your eye on. Two touchdowns
for him this season and junior at six foot two
hundred and eighty five pound pounds. Andrew Miller Austin Phillips
(17:54):
which plank him as well. Elijah Mott the tight end,
RTT Logan, Connor Sandford, Alvarado Arman, Dares Oscar Zamora and
Garcia and Daniel Stronik. That is are the line for
this Stevens Point team. Luke Benny is in his fourth
season as the head coach of the Pointers. He is
six thirty at the helm of Stevens Point is they
(18:16):
try to get back to a winning season. This is
Stephens Point team who's not had a winning season since
twenty sixteen and hoping to change those things as well.
As you take a look at the Blue Devils about
ready to come out on the field, it is the
devil's pitch fork, the sledgehammer of the American plague. Those
are all assigned to different players who had great weeks
the week before and they will lead the Blue Devils
(18:39):
out under the field here for homecoming. In the all
blues today and white helmets and you're gonna hear horns
as well, Joe, as somebody's got some hair horns or
something going on. They've been blowing them in the parking
lot for the last two hours or so.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Hey, it's homecoming, Pete. A lot of excitement. I'm sure
the students are all primed, Doune. This is probably earlier
this year.
Speaker 11 (18:57):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Absolutely, they actually had to wake up. Yeah, I mean
this is at the WIA where we ban all the
noise makers. We have plenty of noise makers here.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
At don a Noo Williams Stadium. Is they get set
to enter the field.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Yeah, the cheerleaders of.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Bump pom As will welcome them here onto the field.
We talk about noise makers, Pete.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Last night the Mustangs from Monomene lost down Alaska. There
was a leading in front of us with a call belt.
She rang that call belt the entire game. So I'm
ready for it.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
There you go, that's what we like. Hey, as long
as for me, as long as there's no booboo zealas,
I think, then we're all set. So it's gonna be
a fun one here. As Stout takes the field, point
has not come out of the locker room yet, which
is kind of interesting, but nonetheless we should get the
national anthem and much more coming up here shortly.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Well points probably getting their pads on. Wasn't that strange
watching them warm up with no.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Helmets and no path I've never seen that. You know
a lot of times when you first come up for
warm ups about an hour and a half before, guys
won't have pads and they'll just have their shirts on.
But yeah, usually that last warm up before you know
the teams are introducing and everything. Yeah, you usually got
pads on, usually got the interview to or the the
game tops on the uniforms, and they didn't.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
It was very, very odd. It gets to be a
long afternoon wearing that helmet, but still you don't see
that exactly.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
It's still Yeah. They are now being escorted to the
field by the officials. Your officials for today's game. Chris Gibbs,
a referee. The umpire is Cade Murray, the headline judge
is Matt Goose, the line judge is Scott Kepneck, the
field judge John Dickinson, the second sign judge Jamie Muller,
and the back judge is Chad mcith run mckeithrun excuse me,
and so that will be the officiating crew for this game. Now,
(20:31):
last year UW stout kind of get out to a
big lead against Stevens Point, as they were expected to
do at Turkey Park. But it's one of those where
they put up fifteen points at Stevens Point late. It's
a twenty two to fifteen lead. It should not have
been that close. And it's gonna be an interesting day
here for sure. And I have heard about these uniforms
from Stevens Point from a few broadcasting friends. Get ready
(20:53):
for yellow on white, folks. That's gonna be just a
joy for our old eyes. Good luck calling the numbers. Yeah,
purple pants, the white tops, white helmets, and nice bright
yellow e gold numbers, but not a whole lot of
dark outline around them as well. So on the far sideline, Yeah,
that should be bull So we're excited for that for sure.
(21:14):
We'll turn it over to j Fall, our PA announcer
for the announcement of the national anthem and much much
more as we get sept for that here as well.
(21:36):
I'm not quite ready for that yet. We're getting to
that point. It looks like we.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Will get the.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Singing of the national anthem here today from Donnadoan William
Sam Stout with a great weekend of sports coming up.
Big win last night for volleyball over the number eight
rank Whitewater Warhawks. The first win for you Stout volleyball
over Whitewater in thirty one years. Yes, that is not
a typo, but pretty big win for volleyball last night,
So congrats to that squad for their win. So we
(22:05):
aren't getting ready for the national anthem here, and I
think we're waiting for the four minute mark, would be
my guest on our.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Scripts and off we go and Pete, I see just
a few little rain drops. You know, it's not supposed
to rain heavy, but you know our window has a
few drops on them, and that's something to keep an
eye on, especially the way it's felt likes to throw
the ball. I don't think it's going to impact the game,
but certainly ball secured, it'd be something to keep an
eye on.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
I look like we're ready to go, but we're still
rolling with some music here before the game. Again, this
is one of the four games in the wia CE today.
Stevens Point against Stout River Falls is ato player today.
The big ones at least the rank matchups Platteville at Whitewater,
Oshkosh at Lacrosse. When the top six teams have played
each other this season, only one road team has gotten
(22:48):
the win and all the matchups since they've played against
each other. So it'd be interesting to watch throughout the
course of this game the national.
Speaker 11 (22:54):
Anth form, Oh save and you see by the dawns
early light, what so proudly we hailed at the twilight's.
Speaker 12 (23:17):
Last leaving, whose brought stripes and bright stars through the
past fight.
Speaker 13 (23:29):
Or the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming, and
the rockats red glare, the bombs bursting.
Speaker 14 (23:48):
In gay proof through the night that our flag was still.
Speaker 13 (24:05):
See does that star spangle baniot.
Speaker 14 (24:18):
Or the land end of the frame.
Speaker 15 (24:24):
And the who.
Speaker 12 (24:27):
Of the.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
Bread the national anthem here from non and no no
Williams Stadium, Oh plan pair at the end of that
as well as we welcome you in here to the
w a C Sports Network, preaking into Joe Zadowski with
you again here on the w i a C Network
with Josh and his great crew, and when Dan Bryce
back on the radio side as well, we get sent
(24:52):
for the opening toss Joe early on football games. You
talked about it, coach Birmingham talking about a little bit
as well. You know when you got it steven Stevens Point,
who's going three in conference, who's been struggling this season
on both sides of the ball. As you said, you
can't really give a team like that hope. So you
like to think, and I have a feeling if Stout
wins this toss, they might take the ball and just
(25:13):
try to get their first score of.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
The game as quickly as they can. Yeah, that's not
a bad idea of Pete's. And another thing is special team.
You know, if you come in as an underdog with
Stevens Point today, you results you have to make sure
they kicked on our coverage on the kicks, do a
good job with the punts, make sure you have good
protection for the kicks. And you don't want to give
Stevens Point an opportunity on a special team's play.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
All right, So the captains will take to midfield to
get your head referee, as Chris Gibbs, We'll try to
listen in to the point toss here this afternoon as
we get set for Stout versus Stevens Point. Week number
four of the conference season, week number seven the overall
Division three season as well.
Speaker 14 (25:54):
Here's a point.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
Point, all right, what do I know Stout wins a
joustin They're gonna defer here, and so I mean it's
a point. We'll get the ball and Stout is gonna kick.
With the wind at their backs, it looks like here
(26:19):
to start this game. So Stout will head to the
north end zone right to left. As you listen to
them at home and watch them at home, Steven's pointing
to the south end zone left to right into probably
about a five maybe approaching ten mile an hour win.
Not terribly that it could affect some things here today
again with the cold, I think it probably backers a
little bit.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Well, the nice thing about deferring there is you get
a chance to double up. You know, if you get
the ball at the end of the half, maybe putting
in the end zone, kick a field goal. Then you
get the ball coming out a halftime. Sometimes that can
be the whole momentum swing for the entire game.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
That will certainly hope to be the case if you
are Stout, as the Blue Devils will come out ready
for the kick. Gers and Jackman to kick in one
kind of interesting note, at least in terms of the
Special Teams games it we think that Brady Prevy is
not available to punt today, So likely Jackman is going
to be the guy to get that those duties. Previe
will be the holder today, a little bit injured in
(27:11):
terms of his ability to be able to punt, we
at least assume, but we'll see what happens if the
Blue Devils get to that point.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Yeah, how about that for a source. Brady Previey's grandpa
lives next door to my parents and portage. I get
a text from my mom, Hey, Brady Prevy's not gonna
punt today. He's got a sore groin.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
I'm not gonna say that that's the only reason we
brought you into the broadcast, Joe, but you know, I mean,
it works out well for us.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
So shout out to Gene and Marianne Melza and locally
Brady whatever's bothering him gets fixed up here pretty quick.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
All right, Ready for the kick here between Stout and
Stevens point at eight game win streak for Stout agains
Stevens point is on the line here in twenty twenty five,
Jackman ready to kick Cashing and Lynch back to return
here for the winners. And here we go toward the
three yard line, and it will be taken at the
(27:59):
tenth to the fifteen, looking for a whole decent one
to the twenty and being pushed out of bounds at
the twenty five yard line. Goes Cashing and Pointers will
come out right at the twenty six to start today's game.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Yeah, pretty good coverage there by Stelt. There was a
little bit of a gap, but they filled a real
quick and a pretty good starting field position from a
defensive point of view.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
So indeed, we will have Charlie Smith at quarterback here
per Stevens Point. Smith comes in and again sitting at
fifty five percent completion percentage. He'll run a little bit.
He has one hundred and eight yards on the season,
doesn't have any touchdowns though. He'll go under center and
they are running. We heard about this kind of almost
an inverted double wing handoff to the right side. Good
stop by Jesse Ellis to cash in. He'll get a
(28:44):
couple of yards up to the twenty eight yard line.
There'll be second and eight here for the Stevens Point team,
and they're gonna run quick the l side linebacker Drew
Scheyer did a nice job for the Blue Devils turning
that one in. He did a good job kind of
filling in there. As they will go back to the shotgun,
fake the handoff through it out left side and a
diving Bowie bobble. That's incomplete. I'll ru on the far
(29:04):
side line the line judge or headline judge rather right
on top of it, and he'll be incomplete the past
intended out there for we check and I'll be a
third and eight coming up here for Stevens point Pete.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
That ball was just a little bit under thrown, otherwise
it would have been a completion. Gabe Kramer on the
coverage for the Blue Devils.
Speaker 4 (29:20):
Ye had the linebacker there. Kramer out in coverage here,
so maybe liking that matchup there. Out of things for Smith,
there is Smith in the shotgun. Two receivers left, one
to the right, ball in the near hash mark third
and eight. They need to get to the thirty six
yard line back to pass looks left now, rolls right,
sets up a screen catch made at the thirty and
taken down from behind before he gets there. A nice
(29:41):
open field tackle for the Blue Devils. That was Owen
Christ of the defensive end who came up and made
the tackle on cash In. And the punt units out
is they he gets seven eight, it'll be more than one.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Yeah, good hold there by the defense.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
Let's see here, this is I don't know, fourth and
one kind of has the feeling of in this situation
with what Stevens points facing in this game of potentially
a fake. So it keep your eye open for that. Apron.
Carter is back to return. The punter is Dakotas Stroud
averages just under forty yards per punt, and he will
indeed punt this one away. Terrible punt. Our low line
(30:16):
drive is gonna take the Stevens point, bounce inside the
thirty and then kind of roll down to the twenty
six yard line. It's gonna work out, okay in the
end a punt of thirty nine yards, but man off
the boot, it didn't look great into that win. Now
Stout's got decent field position to start the draft.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Now, had their best some pressure off the middle, that
point would have been blocked. It barely cleared the lineman.
Then you know when Stone decided to defer to start
this game. This is exactly what they were hoping to do.
Three and out. Get the offense the ball, and great
start for the stout defense.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
I don't know if it's just watching the NFL too much,
or I think even college football just feels like even
around your own thirty forty yard line when you're on
fourth and one, you see so many teams go for
that now, and they didn't in that case, but we'll
see if they do it.
Speaker 8 (30:56):
Here.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
Two receivers to the left. It's at a moment in
the pistol formation. He does have Chandler Ross as his tailback,
and he will give it to Ross right up the
gut looking for a hole. Doesn't have much as he's
spun down after maybe a one yard game to the
twenty seven yard line. Good job by Joe Barns to
step in and make the tackle. Joe Barrons is an
interesting story. His dad played at Stevens Point with head
coach Glate Birmingham and he makes the first tackle at
(31:19):
second and nine.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
Yeah, good job by the Stevens Point defensive line. They
just kind of held serve there. And the running back
for Stell, he was looking for somewhere to run and
just nowhere.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
To go, Kay tapping Jojo James out wide to the right,
three receivers to the left, empty backfield. They're gonna send
Carter in motion left to right far hash mark moving
right to left. Second and nine about to tick under
the thirteen mini mark going back to pass. Only a
three man rush swings it out left side. He under
threw it, under threw it for Aaron Williams. Was a
wide open play and a good chance for a first
down and maybe more around the edge, and he just
(31:49):
under threw it. Charlie Anderson was the closest one two
the third and nine here for Stout.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
That was a really long throw Pete all the way
from the right hash to the near sideline. And yeah,
I think Mullen he wanted to make sure he put
it where it wasn't gonna be pick six and maybe
just a little hesitant on that first pass.
Speaker 16 (32:03):
Of the game.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
And I think your point earlier too about the wet
conditions out there. You wonder if that might have had
something to do with kind of the grip and getting
rid of that ball as well. Third and nine need
to get to the thirty six for a first down.
Ball to twenty seven three receivers left and two out
to the right. Here comes the pressure. He launches this
one deep. It is up for tapping it in complete.
He was getting rolled down the field there by Greg Westmeyer.
(32:23):
No flag on the play, and Stout's gonna go three
and out to start the game.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
As they get set to punched away, I'll mowing on
cork that one. That was a beautiful ball and there
was some contact. I thought it was a good Noll call.
Guys are running looking back at the ball. Be unfortunate,
but Stout's gonna have to punch.
Speaker 4 (32:40):
I think it's one of those where, yeah, you need
him to have a step, so he just can kind
of he can speed up to that ball, and he
just wasn't able to get away for it.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
If the ball was underthrown and he came back for it,
then there it might have been interference. So everyone was
running full out to try to catch up to it.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
It's a great point. It is Garrison Jackman to punch
and let's see a decent wobbling spiral. That ball is
gonna take a set bounce, so they let it roll
and it's gonna roll all the way inside the twenty,
inside the fifteen and be down near the twelve yard line,
and that's a great punt for the Blue Devils in
the end.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Well, there's a huge difference. Stevens point punted and really
wasn't able to turn the field here. Stellet punts and
pushes the pointers all the way back.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
You can chunk that up as a sixty one yard
punt in the end for Garrison Jackman. Perfect bounce that
bounce what probably about the thirty five thirty yard line
and then just rolled another twenty yards. Great play there
for Stout as they played the little field position game here,
twelve forty one left to play in the second quarter,
no score between Stout and Stevens Point under center, goes Smith.
(33:36):
There's that kind of a double wing play. They're going
to pitch it out to the right and nothing doing
for Cashing, He's gonna be wrapped up for a big
loss for progress of the eight yard line. That's a
four yard loss on the play. Ellis was at the
bottom of the pile being helped out by others. Row
Schneider there as well, number forty five for Stout defense
did an awesome job on that. He really collapsed the
line that was Calee Lamb. Yeah, Lamb does a nice
(33:59):
job stepping up, helping out in the linebacking crew. Already
getting deep into the depth chart here a little bit
for Stout Sido has had a great season the inside
linebacker a fifty three total tackles on the year. And
now in motion there, it's gonna be an option play,
running it out on the left edge of the formation,
across the ten and up near the fifteen yard line.
(34:20):
Goes Smith on the rush, gets a lot of that
yardage back and a couple more as well. Sixteen yard
line is where they'll market to an eight yard gain.
And now third and about seven coming up for Stevens
point with no score. You're just under twelve minutes left
in the first score.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Yeah, but again a good job by the Stout defensive line.
You know, when you running that option, you want to
stay as close to the line of scrimmage as you can.
The quarterback really had to loop back, so he had
to go a couple of years forward just to get
back to the line of scrimmage. This good playing with it.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
Fine with the little game there, but yeah, the nice
job keeping the edge is there's two receivers left sent
a man in motion left to right, fake the handoff.
Now they'll hand it off instead on a counterplay to
Cash and across the twenty. He's got the first down.
He's he's kind of seeked out the contact there. Ellis
ran into him and went to the twenty five for
a first down. Yeah, good job by the Pointers getting
some angles there. It might have been a little bit
(35:07):
of a conservative play call, but it sure worked out.
It kind of felt like a read option. You had
a guy going in motion, you fake the handoff two
and now you got another guy that you can hand
it off to in cashing right behind him. And that
was how it works. So he had multiple options here
did Smith on what he wanted to do and took
advantage of it. First and ten from their own twenty
five yard line, one receiver out right and again that
kind of wing formation. They'll fake the pitch roll to
(35:28):
the right, single coverage, they throw it and it is pittercepting.
Speaker 5 (35:31):
There's Duson Goodman HiT's a pick six to the end zone. Touchdown.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
Blut evils his third interception of the season, and stot
leads six to nothing with ten forty one left to
go in the first quarter.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
Want to read by Goodman to step in front of
that pass and just running into the end zone. A
lot of it came from the defensive line putting pressure
on the quarterback, though I think that was number ninety
two for Stout, Matt Burt or Matt Blank.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
Great job, great job stepping in front of it by
Goodman as well. You can see that I had two
options on that right side, and now they went with
the under option, and Goodman was reading it like a
book as you said it'll be. Jack been on to
attempt the extra point after a pick six. It goes
about the twenty yards snap spot, kick is up and
(36:16):
the kick is good and the lou doubles sleek seven
and nothing with ten forty one left to go in
the first quarter. We'll come back right after this here
on the WIAC Sports Network.

This is w stout football on NEOs Talk wm EQ.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
Quarter back here to Don and Ona Williams saam seven
to nothing. Here of the Blue Devils with the lead
over Stevens point ten forty one. Love to play in
the first quarter. A Dacin Goodman interception return gets it
in for the touchdown to start defensive touchdown to start
the game.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
And well you'll take that any day, want you, Joe?
This is exactly how Stell wanted to start the football game.
They deferred on the opening kick and the defense has
really come to play.
Speaker 4 (37:28):
Good job so far, and not a lot of yards
for this Pointer team. They got twenty two yards on
South's offense was pretty sagnet and their first drive. But
they're gonna give it right back to the Pointer offense.
As Jackman's kick a high one, this one should be returnable.
Cashing at about the five yard line between the hash
and the numbers to the near side trice and bounce
it out now at the twenty, he's across the twenty
(37:49):
five and me pushed out near the sideline. We'll get
to the twenty five yard line as the Blue Devils
get to him. Look liked Anthony Miller, Sarah along with others.
Great team coverage there and it also with the kick.
That was a beautiful kick. That thing hung up there.
He gave the covers team tighten to run downing. You
can get him ready for the NFL there with that,
it was kind of cough and corner kicks now that
they're getting ready for.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
That would have been perfect. You got to get it
in the landing zone as they there.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
You go, thirty four left to play here in the
first quarter, seven nothing Stout and back out comes Smith
and company.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
Third possession already for the pointer offense.
Speaker 4 (38:22):
And only as we said, twenty two yards plus a
pick six. One receiver left one right in the shotgun.
He fakes a handoff, wants to go deep over the middle.
He's got a man open for a moment. It's launching
his pot across the thirty five yard lining down to
the thirty yard line of Stout. That is we checked,
I believe with the reception and he was wide open.
He made a little move in side down field. Tackled
(38:42):
on the play by Gavin Goodman. But a big time game.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
Well, it's a good adjustment by the pointer. Stout's been
bringing so much pressure they have to go deep to
try to take some of that pressure away.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
And it's a forty four yard game. Handoff to the
full back up the gut here twenty five, twenty four
to twenty three. Pardon me, that was cash and who
was just kind of sticking the fullbacks spot. He gets
a nice gain of about six yards there on first out.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
Thanks job by number four. Jesse Ellis coming up and
providing some covers there from his cornerback spot making a
tackle and needed to make it there. Two receivers left,
one right.
Speaker 4 (39:14):
They throw it over the middle and it has bottled
and incompletely off the hands of Matt Getchen, the senior
tight end. But he got hit hard on that play
by Brewer and it's now third and four.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
I'll tell you if a guy likes to hit Brooks Brewer,
he certainly likes to man thirty.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
Five total tackles on the season for him, one TfL.
He's got three picks, which is a tied for first
in the WAC the All American we're from right here
in me Nominee.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
That would have been a completion for sure without that hit.
Speaker 4 (39:42):
He's used to playing on this field plenty. How about
four receivers to the left formation here for Smith, kind
of an unbalanced line and they'll pitch it out to
the left side trying to get around the edges. Lynch,
he's chased after he's gonna get there, and I got
hung up there. Cole Sanger was trying to get to
him on the edge and Seidel was getting through too,
and they got hanged hung up together and he goes
out of bounds at the nineteen. He's got a first down.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
Yeah, Sidle the linebacker from Stell looked like he got
held and I know he was looking at the official.
The official was right there, but no call.
Speaker 4 (40:08):
Yeah, pretty tough call there to go against him. So
it'll be now first and ten here into the red zone.
It is a red zone mark of twelve of thirteen
for Stevens point in the red zone this season, and
all twelve of those scorers have all been touchdowns, so
they haven't been in there much. But when they get
in the red zone, they tend to score touchdowns. See
if they do it here two receivers to the right.
Smith rolls to the right, throws it out to the right,
(40:28):
catch is made at the seventeen and nothing else. Great
open field tackle for Gavin Goodman on the reception made
by Ben Wahllers Shem and it'll be second and long.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Got a nice job there by Stellers. That play there
is kind of designed to get the ball the receiver,
try to make a guy miss, but real solid tackle
from the Blue Devils.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
So it'll be two yards on the play. Make it
second and eight and it looks like Kramer is going
to be run off the field there for Drew Shoer,
who will come in in that linebacking spot one receiver right,
one left, thirteen seconds left on the play clock and
eight thirty seven and ticking left. Here in the first quarter,
Stout seven and Stevens point zero move left to right
(41:09):
across the formation. They're in motion. It'll be a handoff
up the middle to Cash and they'll get to the
fifteen and then he's gang tackled by Daniel Walker. Drey
Bourns was in there along with a couple of others
about a two to three yard gain to the fifteen
yard line, and that will bring up third and around
six here for Stevens point.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
Be interesting to see what the Pointers do here. Do
they try to spread it out or do they try
to run some of that inside run like they did
back by their own end zone.
Speaker 4 (41:34):
I imagine too. Again, kicking game has not been great
for them this year, so this could be four down
territory already. With how deep into Stout territory they are
at the Stout fifteen third and six. Two receivers right,
one to the left. Man in motion is Miller across
the formation right to left, Smith, looking to pass, steps up.
He throws this one back top of the end zone
that's too strong, over the top of his intended receiver. Again,
(41:56):
the tight end Getchen. It'll be fourth and six and
they are going to bring the fegal it out. Pardon me, Tylers.
Sodoman is only attempted one field goal this season. It
was a forty eight yarder he missed, and it is
going to be Sodoman to attempt about a thirty one
thirty two yard field goal.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
Good defense by Stout in that last possession they were
playing more coverage. I think they only rushed three guys.
Good job by the secondary.
Speaker 4 (42:23):
Stroud is the holder. Grant Kersh is the long snapper.
Snap spot. The kick is up and he hooked it
that he'd get it through the far upright. He did
just through certainly had the leg.
Speaker 18 (42:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
With seven left to play in the.
Speaker 4 (42:36):
First quarter, the pointers around the parties seven to three.
Step with the league will come back right after this.

This is UW Stout Football on News Talk wm EQ.
Speaker 4 (43:23):
Welcome back in aarony youw South down and Ona Williams
Stadium seven to three Stout with the lead on Stevens point.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
This Stout touchdown coming from a pick six.
Speaker 4 (43:33):
The field goal for Stevens point coming from an eight
play fifty nine yard drive took two minutes and fifty
two seconds and a thirty two yard field goal, the
first of the year for Tyler Sodoman and now a
seventh three lead and now a chance Joe for Stout
to kind of get the offense going, which we haven't
really seen much of in this game yet.
Speaker 1 (43:51):
No on good job by the defense after that big play,
holding Steven's point to a field goal.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
And that is an awkward kick. It'll go into Evans's
hands at the twenty looking for a hold of the
third and he's taking down near the thirty four yard line.
Good open field tackle there, and now it is Evans
with a good return. They'll mark officially that is where
Stout will start off with good field position to start
the second drive of the game.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
We've seen some strange spin coming off the foot of
the Stevens point kickers the first punt and now that kickoff.
You don't see the ball go across the turf like
that very often.
Speaker 4 (44:21):
I think there it seems like they're trying to keep
it under the wind. But again it's uh, you know,
it looks like what my three iron does when I
try to keep it under the wind. It just ends
up duck hooking in the in the woods. And I
quick call, yeah, you're smart, You're very very smart for it,
that is for sure. And I allow a bunch of
formation here to start for Stout. They've got receivers all
(44:41):
up along the line right next to it here, two
to the left, one to the right. They will give
the handoff up the gut that is Zoe McDowell for
a run of two maybe three yards on the play
just right up the gut. The small Zoe McDowell is
five pounds. I haven't seen much a Zoe McDowell in
the last couple of weeks, but he gets a quick
and off there and gets about two and a half
(45:02):
on that first game. Second and seven here for Stout.
Speaker 1 (45:05):
Not much going on the ground for the Blue Devils,
and I'm looking at their season stats. Really haven't had
much success running the ball.
Speaker 4 (45:11):
Yeah, bottom of the league win O five in terms
of their yards per game running, that is for sure.
James was lined up as a running back. He'll go
in motion now, three receivers bunched out there, all the
speedzers as Mowen will roll out that way. He'll go
to James catch made across the forty forty five and
he's pushed out of bounds near the forty seven yard line.
Charlie Anderson was strong safety there to tackle one, but
not before he's got first down yard to.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
Say forty six.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Wow, I thought he went out of bounds like the
forty three, but apparently tiptoed the sideline got to the
forty six.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
Mowen looked real comfortable on that play the first pass
of the game. Not so much.
Speaker 7 (45:45):
Now.
Speaker 4 (45:45):
He looks like he's locked in his first completion of
the ball game. Now one for three with that nine
yard game. Two receivers or two tight ends Frank and
Klis moving to the right side of the formation. One
receiver left, one right again. Ross is a tailback here
offset left, mowing in the shotgun and he will give
it to him running up the gut. Hue All fifty
cuts it.
Speaker 5 (46:04):
Back in near side forty five forty thirty five.
Speaker 4 (46:06):
He turns on the Jets down the sideline of the
twenty ten to five touchdown.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
No, he stepped out of bounds. He stepped out of
bounds at the two yard line. The official will say
the sign Judge Jamie Muller right there, but a massive
gain for the Blue Devils.
Speaker 4 (46:21):
He'll be firsting goal.
Speaker 1 (46:23):
Great job up front blocking also down the field, Avron
Carter and the wide receiver for the Blue Devils didn't
make a big block, but he got in the way
and that gave a chance to get down right to
the end zone.
Speaker 4 (46:33):
Fifty one yard run for Chandler Ross. I have a
feeling they're gonna give it right back to him and
let him get the touchdown here at least try to
pistol formation. Oh Man was off side. They'll give it
to him right up the gut. He is into the
end zone anyway, I think touchdown, Blue Devils Chandler Ross
with his fifth touchdown on the season. There's a flag
on the play, but I think this is off side,
(46:54):
and I think this If it is, it'll be declined
and Stout's gonna have a two score ball games so far.
Speaker 1 (47:01):
Good second effort there by Ross. I don't think he
got in on the first attempt, But then you were right, Kate.
Speaker 4 (47:12):
Tanner. Morotech was the man who was off side, and
again he jumped off just in time, and so Ross
punches it in for the touchdown. Yeah, I was at delay.
You're right. Second effort delayed. Call I thought he was
across the goal line initially, but socials had to make sure.
And he is in thirteen to three Stout with the
lead six thirteen to go. Here in the first quarter,
(47:33):
jack manon to attempt the extra point snap spot kick
us up and it is good. Fourteen to three Stout
lead six pot Togo first quarter. We're back right after
this here on the WIAC Sports ephor.

Stout Football on Newstock WM e Q.
Speaker 4 (48:28):
Yeah, welcome back in here to donand Ona Williams Stadium.
The Blue Devils with a fourteen to three lead, big
time drive for Stout down fieldness. Chandler Ross punches it
in for three yards out after he had a fifty
one yard run earlier on the drive. Four plays sixty
five yards a minute twenty three and Stout is a
fourteen to three and Jo this is about as good
(48:49):
of a start to this game as stole Wanam. This
is exactly right in the line with what they're trying
to do. Yeah, you gotta like the lead.
Speaker 1 (48:56):
And we talked about the pregame homecoming. You're the favorite,
you want to get ahead, and that's exactly what they've done.
Speaker 4 (49:03):
And Jackman's kick another high, kind of angled kick toward
the far corner, taking it about the six yard line
on that far side. That's Lynch on the left side,
up across the twenty five and taking down here the
twenty seven yard line, maybe the twenty eight. Good coverage
again Souths just kind of angling that kick to the
corner and the whole coverage unit going that way, and
I don't think Steven's points really willing to bounce it
(49:24):
out the other way to try to see if then
get a hole and there's not a whole lot of
return space.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
Well, those kickoffs are going so high in the air.
It's just really neat to see. I see a lot
of high school football, and I've seen some good kickers,
but boy, he's really putting it up there and giving
the coverage team a chance to get down the field.
Speaker 4 (49:40):
And Garrison Jackman, great kicker out of Litchfield, Minnesota. And
now the pointers back out on offense are gonna run
the option running to the right side.
Speaker 5 (49:48):
Oh, they pit him hard.
Speaker 4 (49:49):
Kramer got him up top. I think side might have
got him below that bloo Devils are claiming that that
ball popped out of there, but about a yard gain
on the plate of the twenty nine yard line and
just kept it himse Elf and Stout did a really
good job taking away the option. Two receivers to the left,
one of the right near hash mark second and nine
from their own twenty nine yard line. Smith rolling out
to his left, squaring up, throwing down field Man open
(50:12):
and it's bobbled and incomplete. That ball looked like it
hit the turf. I must have held onto a nice
job down there.
Speaker 1 (50:17):
I think that's.
Speaker 4 (50:18):
Phillips, I believe legs. Yeah, well done by him to
hold onto that ball. Is Andrew Miller rather. Two receivers right,
one left, Yeah, got that ball. Here comes the blitz man.
They got him wrapped up behind the forty yard line.
Coming in on the play was Michael Reynolds. I think
(50:39):
blank got no pardon me, it was not playing. That
was Lamb who got there as well. And that's a
big loss back to the thirty nine yard line, a
loss of seven. It'll be second and seventeen. Great time
to bring some pressure. Steven's point had that long pass
on the last possession, and you know towards midfield. Here
a great opportunity to push him back. Second and seventeen.
They need to get all the to the stout Forty
(51:01):
four balls at their own thirty nine yard line. Two
receivers to the left flank by two running backs as
Charlie smith sends a man emotion left to right. Lots
of options cashing on the counter up the gut avoids
the first tackler, but not much more to the forty
maybe the forty one hit on the play by Abe
Helsel and others. I think Dawson Goodman, the strong safety,
got in there and helped out on the play, and
it will be third and about fifteen here for Stevens point.
Speaker 1 (51:23):
Good patience by the running back trying to wait for
something to open up. But the Stout defense did a
great job filling all the lanes.
Speaker 4 (51:29):
As much as we talked about stout struggles running the ball,
their run defense has been great. They've only allowed ninety
yards per game. That's second in the WIAC. Coming into
today's play again, they need to get to the forty
four for a first down ball at their own forty one.
Smith in the shotgun looking over the middle. Nothing, They're
gonna step up and run with it to the left
side of the forty forty five. There's a flag on
the play, and I think Stout will likely decline this one,
(51:52):
but there's a whole behind the play for sure. Here
on Stevens point. They might push him back. Good to
be honest with you, because you could be back to
a third and what twenty five instead of a fourth
and eight.
Speaker 1 (52:03):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was a holding call. Looked
like the big right tackle for the pointers. H tackled
the Stell defensive lineman.
Speaker 4 (52:11):
Gonna figure out what Stout wants to do here. This
is that one situation where you almost think about taking it. Oh,
it's personal foul number.
Speaker 7 (52:19):
Seventy three, number sixty five of the offense.
Speaker 5 (52:22):
That penalty is decline bring up fourth down.
Speaker 4 (52:25):
That makes it even more interesting because that would have
been a fifteen yard penalty. But again, they're gonna take
the fourth and eight. They know Stevens points gonna kick
this away, and as much as you'd love to move
him back a little bit, you want that ball back
as quick as you can. Yeah, I think it's a
good call, So Stout will decline the penalty. The game
got them up to their own forty eight yard line,
(52:45):
so fourth and eight here for Stevens point. They are
ready to punt with Dakotas Stroud back to return his abron.
Carter's standing in his own eleven three forty eight left
to go. First quarter, Stout up fourteen to.
Speaker 5 (52:59):
Three and almost block.
Speaker 4 (53:00):
Hughes was through and almost got there. That is received
by Carter at the fifteen breaks a tackle to the
twenty and then has pushed out of bounds near the
twenty two yard line. But Carter with a nice little
move there as well. But man Chase Hughes was that
close to getting a block on that punt. He was
very very close.
Speaker 1 (53:17):
Yeah, that was a much better punt there from the pointers,
a lot better than the first one.
Speaker 4 (53:21):
So the punt will be returned to the twenty three
yard line of South. Stouts got it back for another
drive after their last drive up to sixty six yards
of offense. Stevens point for only having three points and
meaning down fourteen to three. They do have one hundred
and one yards of offense so far, but you look
at the yards per play, Stevens points getting five yards
of play. Stout's getting nine point four yards per play.
(53:43):
So it's a little bit of a differencer an IDEA
clist goes in motion right to left. He's a bunched
with three receivers on the left side. They'll hand it
off to McDowell right side.
Speaker 5 (53:51):
You tall thirty. Oh no, he kept it himself. Bowen's
gonna go left side of the forty to the forty five.
Speaker 4 (53:56):
They faked me out all the way up to the
forty six forty seven yard line. That'll be about a
twenty four yard gain. And just like the pointers on it,
they didn't know the bone add the ball. I didn't
know bone ad the ball. Great run.
Speaker 1 (54:08):
That was a great fake, just like you said, Pete.
And it makes it so hard on the defense because
if you can run both directions, you're spreading that defense horizontally.
Not only is it good for that play, but it
really sets up the rest of this possession.
Speaker 4 (54:20):
Two receivers right left, two receivers right as well as
tailback is McDowell again, they'll take the handoff to him,
throw it out to Evans quick. That's made left side
to the forty five. Trying to stay on this seed.
He does bone and he slipped and he went down
at about the forty one yard line. A good gain
in the end. Evans man, he is such a dynamic
receiver the second he receives it. Not only does he
(54:42):
have the speed, but he can avoid tackles like he
did there up to the forty one.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
He was one slip away from being in the end zone.
Speaker 4 (54:47):
Where really was I mean, he's just one of those
guys you can think of NFL comparisons right to those
guys when they catch it, they need don't need to
catch it downfield. They can make something out of nothing.
Three receivers right, one left. There is a flag and
somebody in the line jump there. I think for Stout,
first out all right. Guard Andrew David called for the
(55:10):
false starts. They'll mark him back to the forty six
yard line. It'll be first in fifteen here for Stout.
We'll see Chandler Ross check back into the game at
running back for the Blue Devils seeing in there as well,
are coming in rather as Mason Frank at the tight
end position. He'll line up with twice on the left
side of the formation. Evans is going to go on
the slot right, Carter out wide right. Interesting formation here,
(55:33):
first in fifteen for Stout up fourteen to three pistol formation.
Send Carter in motion right to left across the formation
and mowing back to passicks left. The entire weight throws
it that way. Frank has it incomplete. Good job getting
his hand on it there. Greg Westmeyer just to defending
and challenging the play. It'll be second and fifteen. Yeah,
that one was pretty scripted. I think everyone in the.
Speaker 1 (55:53):
Stadium knew where that ball was going, and they had
to be great delivered a little bit quicker.
Speaker 4 (55:59):
Again. It was one of those where, yeah, you're right,
it looked like there was no options on that right side.
Owen just looked there the whole way two ten left
to go first quarters, stout fourteen Stevens point three, and
they'll send James in motion out as a receiver, empty
backfield for mowing. But one to the shotgun on second
and fifteen. Looks right now, he's gonna run the left.
Speaker 1 (56:20):
Does he have a hole?
Speaker 4 (56:21):
He does a little bit forty five, got a stiff
arm to the thirty five, and he's just gonna truck
down the sideline and he's close to the first down.
In fact, he got exactly fifteen yards and he got
himself a first down by.
Speaker 1 (56:31):
Mowen is such a dual threat. Not only can he
throw a beautiful pass.
Speaker 4 (56:36):
Like that, Really, I mean that was not a huge
hole on that left side. He kind of made something
out of nothing there. It looked like a little bit
just kind of hit the whole hard and that stiff
arm really helped him out as well.
Speaker 1 (56:47):
Yeah, good play design. Steven's point had to honor the
far side of the field, leaving the near side pretty
wide open.
Speaker 4 (56:53):
Now he got Jojo James DeVante, Evans and I run
Carter on one side of the field. I mean that
is speed personified. And you're right. He had to make
sure that was happening. Is there's two receivers to the left,
two out to the right, back to pass Mohen looking
right nothing there, bounces right side, going to try to
turn on the jets to the thirties, tripped up and
stays on his feet to the twenty.
Speaker 5 (57:12):
Five and he dives forward and he's got the first.
Speaker 4 (57:14):
Down to the twenty and eleven yard run is again
he's just kind of shifty moving in and out of
the defense.
Speaker 1 (57:20):
He gets eleven yards. Well, he has been steading rusher
and you can see it here and again today had
him mowing a dual threat quarterback.
Speaker 4 (57:27):
One oh nine left to go, first quarter, clock ticking
fourteen to three. Stout Blue Devils will once again have
Mowen in the pistol formation. Now pardon me and shotgun.
He's got Hues to his right, Evans right, Carter left.
Hughes now moves to his left side. Two tight ends
on the formation. First and ten from the twenty one
yard line. Oh, it's a flea flicker. They'll give it back.
(57:48):
Evans back to Mowen. Looking down field, he throws it's incomplete.
Stevens point had that one read like a book. A
little reverse to the flee flicker. They got it back
to Mowen, but some pressure in the backfield there from
Rotech kind of blew that playoff.
Speaker 1 (58:00):
Yeah, going to the short side of the field, there
really wasn't much space and didn't really fool anybody on
that one.
Speaker 4 (58:06):
They've run a flee flicker. I think every game this
year has stole. They've kind of gone into the bag
of tricks that Peschick. Of course, the offensive coordinator coming
back from Whitewater the last couple of seasons, had been
the offensive coordinator for Stout before that. Now back here
in Menominee again, and he's got plenty in that bag
of tricks. Of his pre receivers left, nobody to the right,
(58:29):
tight end lined up left as well, Hughes as a tailback.
Second and ten, Bake the handoff going and to run
it himself. He's got a hold of the fifteen and
he's just gonna lower the shoulder and fall court. He's
very close to the first down. I think he's about
a yard short on the nine yard carry. It'll be
third and one. Lowen took a pretty good hit on
that one. That's that right option. That is the nervy part. Right,
(58:51):
you're always kind of worried about mowing going downfield in
that situation. Twenty seconds left on the game clock. The
play clock did not start because it was under the
forty second mark. So they are gonna take this into
the second quarter. It looks like indeed they will fourteen
to three Stout with the lead on Stephens point. We
are through one quarter. Stout is in the red zone
threatening third and one from the Stevens point eleven. That's
(59:13):
coming up for you after the break. Stout fourteen Stevens
point three. Here on the WIAC Sports.
Speaker 1 (59:18):
Network, you'll haven congrats.

This is UW Stout football on News Talk wm EQ.
Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
Look about that caret to UW is Stout to not
an ode Williams Stadium. Pecaoots and Joe Zadowski with the
air on the Yaxports Network, a new stot WNQ. All right,
a fourteen to three league for Stout. First quarter Stout
with one hundred and thirty seven yards of offense one
hundred and one for Stevens Point. Joe, it's been kind
of to plan so far for the Blue doubles.
Speaker 1 (01:00:18):
Yeah, you really got to like the way the defense
has played and then the offense really kind of good
ball control. And you know, anytime you can have the
ball as long as Teut has, you know, that's the
best defense you can have is when your offense is
out on the field.
Speaker 4 (01:00:30):
Yeah, the drives they've had for the most part outside
of that three and out to start up a nice long,
sustained drives, always moving forward. They got a third and
one at the eleven yard line coming up to start
this second quarter. Need the ten for a first down
in Stevens Point territory. And how about this it's the
tush push formation. It's Frank and Ross behind Adam Mohen
(01:00:52):
who goes under center and they will push him to
the right side, and he's got the first down. Look
at that good old tushbush and it's Mason Frank who
helps out with that. Certainly, he got about a yard
and a half and with fourteen fifty left to go
in the second quarter, Sout's got a first and.
Speaker 7 (01:01:05):
Goal and carries for another.
Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
Jose, the biggest man of the touchbush theis.
Speaker 4 (01:01:13):
Well.
Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
I must say, I used to like the quarterback sneak, so.
Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
We'll take that any time. I'm curious. Saud has done
the toushbosion a couple of times this season. You saw
the Vikings last week. I think put a defender down
right in front of the ball against the Eagles a
couple of weeks ago. You wonder if more teams might
start doing that a little bit against that formation. But regardless,
its first and goal from about the nine and a half,
and Mowen will give it no, I'll keep it himself.
(01:01:37):
He was going to hand it off to Ross where
they got in the backfield quickly there to the pointers.
That'll be a one yard loss. As he has wrapped
up and stopped back there.
Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
And that was a nice adjustment there by Stevens point.
I think they were kind of getting caught trying to
read what was happening instead of just following their cues.
You know, every guy should have a queue and every
guy should react based on who they're supposed to be watching.
And if you get caught up look in the backfield
with all those fakes, you're gonna be a step soul.
You're better off just assigning someone and making sure you
do your job.
Speaker 4 (01:02:06):
Yeah, Brody overback with nice penetration there in the nose
guard getting in and making the stop. Two receivers out
to the left, second and goal from the eleven. Now
Ross moves to his left, they will give it to
him up the gut to the ten.
Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
Bounce his off a tackle.
Speaker 5 (01:02:18):
At the five to the end zone, touchdown, Blue Devils.
Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
Wow, what a hurdle there by Ross. That was a
very athletic move. If he wasn't able to get over
that defender, he wasn't going to be able to get
to the end zone. But he looked like a hurdler
on that one. Pete, Yeah, take a look back at
the replay here and you're right. I mean, just sit there.
Speaker 4 (01:02:35):
Beautiful play there right about the tencause he went right
over top of Joe Barns who's coming in low on
him and gets in. How was a gorgeous run there?
Really was. This is why it's interesting right to see
the Blue Devils run game not be as good because
I think Chandler ross Man, when he's healthy, he is
one of the more fun running backs to watch in
the WIAC well.
Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
Especially with no one be able to run from the
quarterback position, you shouldn't be able to have a good
run game.
Speaker 4 (01:03:00):
Kick us up from Jackman. It is good twenty one
to three, stout with the lead on Stevens point thirteen
thirty one loft to play in the second quarter. We'll
take a break come back right after this on the
Wye Seed Sports Networks.

This is UW. Stout Football on News Talk wm EQ.
Speaker 4 (01:03:53):
Welcome back here to Donna Oda Williams, Satium thirteen thirty one.
Love to play in the second quarter, It's Stout twenty one,
Stevens more point three and Joe once again the Blue
Devils just march it right down field. That drive for
Stout goes ten to plays seventy seven yards. You mentioned
the time of possession. That a five minute, five second drive,
and you have you gotta imagine the Stevens Moore defense starting.
Speaker 1 (01:04:13):
To get a little bit tired with kind of how
the game is progressed here. I really like how Stout's
starting to run the ball. Coming into the game, looking
at the stats, kind of wondering, boy, you know you
can't run the ball. That makes it tough, But they're
showing it here today pretty well.
Speaker 4 (01:04:26):
Jackman to the near side, cashing gonna take it about
the fifteen yard line, avoids a tackler at the twenty
and then a towel goes.
Speaker 5 (01:04:31):
Flops out and Stout's got it. Stout's got it at
the twenty three yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:04:36):
The recovery for Stout will come from Jews shower and
are they gonna call him down? Now? A side judge's
coming in. There's a flag as well on the kick.
I have a feeling that Stout might have been off side.
Speaker 7 (01:04:48):
On the kick.
Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
Yeah, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (01:04:51):
You can hear it in the background they're playing music.
I don't think they realized that that somebody was off
side for Stout. I thought I heard Kyler Lane number
thirty three was a man off side and so uh,
this is gonna be called back and Sout's gonna have
to kick this one off from the thirty yard line
instead of the thirty five. Wow, what a change. Yeah, yeah,
(01:05:12):
a chance to really kind of, you know, turn the
screws a bit. There did Stout and we're gonna have
to kick it off again. Clay Birmingham is having a
chat there for a moment with the umpire and the
side judge, anybody who will listen to him as he
patrols the sideline and now he's gonna Yeah, Clay Birmingham
(01:05:33):
is gonna come go right over to the thirty yard
line and make sure that all his guys are on
side as they run up to this kick. Is the
back judge you throw it on that far side, Chad mckeithrun.
Still great coverage by the Blue Devils, so a little
bit more space to work with now here for Stevens point.
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
I see their returners are setting up at about the
fifteen yard line. Now they're backing up to the ten.
Speaker 4 (01:05:59):
Yeah, now moving toward the south end zone. So into
whatever win there is about five miles an hour or so.
Jackman high kick will be taken at the about nineteen
yard line, cashing left side twenty five. He hit runs
into his own defender at the twenty five, twenty six,
twenty seven sounds ripping at the ball as he goes
down at the twenty nine yard line.
Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Boy, they really were ripping at it.
Speaker 4 (01:06:22):
Any difference you can take there, which means you having
the ball versus Stout having it, I don't think you
really care as much point if you're Stevens point there.
Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
Yeah, I think that was number nine to Bash and
Smith did a good job kind of hanging on and
giving the defense an opportunity to try to rip that
ball out.
Speaker 4 (01:06:37):
And a good job there by the Blue Dove. I
think again, and you're right. They just wanted that fumble back.
They wanted a second chance at it, so at their
own twenty nine yard line here for Stevens Point.
Speaker 1 (01:06:47):
That's kind of next level defense, not just worried about tackling,
but also trying to force a turnover.
Speaker 4 (01:06:52):
Some of the Blue Devils are really emphasized as they
want takeaways, they want big plays. Here's a run to
the right side blockers at the thirty thirty five taken down.
Big hit there put on Reid Smith, the senior backup
running back, because he gets to the thirty six yard
line and it gets seven yards on the play.
Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
I think that was sophomore rtt lolcan for Stevens Point
leading the way, good John blocking.
Speaker 4 (01:07:14):
I got out and got a nice big block out
in front. Pulling from the left side, and.
Speaker 1 (01:07:19):
Those yellow numbers are impossible to stay terrible.
Speaker 4 (01:07:21):
Oh man, sorry guy, Sorry, See I know there are
a lot of Stevens Point fans I'm sure watching, but.
Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
You know, pur purple could work in this situation. Yeah,
if we call the wrong guy.
Speaker 4 (01:07:30):
Sorry about that. There's a run again to Smith, countering
right to left, got a hole. He's a little short though.
It looks like running to the left side. Stop right
about a half a yard short, says the headline. Jud's
sidel Brewer in on the stop and it'll be third
and inches here. Now I'm about third in a yard
for Stevens point.
Speaker 1 (01:07:48):
Yeah, it looked like he was gonna get the first down,
but Brooks Brewer came in and boy, he's like a
wall stopped him right in his tracks and he's pressing
him to watch all point.
Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
Jacob didle In on the offense defensive line along with
dre Bourne's got some of the backup guys. Blank is
on the left side that three four defense South likes
to play. This might be four down territory down twenty
one to three. I think you might be right at
their own thirty eight yard line. Need to thirty nine
and there's a time out taking. I think Stevens point
you're right knows how big of a down this is.
In the situation that we're in eleven fifty seven left
(01:08:18):
to go, second quarters, dout twenty one Stevens point three.
Let's take a look across the wac and River Falls
is up big.
Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
We kind of figured they would be.
Speaker 4 (01:08:27):
They're up twenty eight to nothing at Carson Park Overroa
Claire and they are just at the end of the
first quarter in that contest there. Whitewater at home against Blattville.
This is a matchup to top twenty five teams at
the top of the conference. In Whitewater is up fourteen
to three on the Pioneers. Pioneers last week against Lacrosse
again kind of adding to that two in one mixture
(01:08:49):
that we saw last week. They ended up winning thirty
eight to twenty one against Lacrosse, and now they are
down by two scores to Whitewater, because that's kind of
the feeling of that Lacrosse is going to take on
ash actual. They kick off in about twelve minutes down
at Lacrosse Roger Herrings Stadium. Eleven fifty seven left to
(01:09:10):
go here, second quarter, stout twenty one, Stevens point three.
Speaker 1 (01:09:13):
Big play here Pete third and one.
Speaker 4 (01:09:15):
Indeed from the thirty eight yard line, one receiver to
the right. You've got again that kind of inverted wing
look to it. As under center goes smith sends a
man in motion handoff right if they got Smith got
hit in the backyard, then he lunged for it. I
think as me went down. Indeed it did right at
the line of scrimmage. He gets nothing on the play.
Dawson Goodman was the one I think closest to him.
(01:09:37):
It's fourth and one and this is the pun unit
coming out. I'm I'm a little surprised, to be honest
with you. Interesting number forty eight.
Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
Parker Clay Wedder for Star did a great job getting
some penetration, pushing that whole play back of yard.
Speaker 4 (01:09:48):
Now he's got three tackles for loss already on the season,
and he was the first guy in to stop that play.
And now Carter going to stand at his own twenty
got the win at your back. Now, if you are
stroud to punt this way, standing around his own twenty
four yard line and no block coming this time, but
an end over end kick, Let's see if Carter can
get a return here. He scoop it up at the twenty,
(01:10:09):
avoids a tackler and is taken down up near the
thirty yard line. No flags on the field, and Stout
will have a return to the twenty nine and it
will be first down for the Blue Devils.
Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
You know, Carter didn't get much on the return there,
but what he did is he field at the ball
with the end over and kick like that. That's going
to keep going towards the end zone. So just fielding
the ball cleanly is a great win right there. And
then to get a few yards afterwards, that's just icing
on the cake.
Speaker 4 (01:10:33):
Yeah, a real nice job from him and a good
job by the Blue Devils. They have had some good
offensive production here, one hundred and forty eight yards total offense.
No one's only thrown the ball six times. He's two
for six receptions from Evans and James when it's men
mainly as you said, the rush game. That's done it
for Stout. They've got one hundred and twenty seven yards
on the ground so far. One receiver left one right
(01:10:55):
ball on the near hash mark. He'll send Evans in
motion from the left sign comes in tighter to the line,
face the handoff. Mowan's gonna run it himself around the edge.
They could boot right side to the thirty thirty five
and he's stiff arms another defender down to the thirty seven.
West Meyer on the edge gets eight yards on the
game and again that's another one load up one side
and let Moan go do it on the other side.
Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
Yeah, that read option has been really effective. You know
Steven's point. They're trying to figure out how to stop it,
but Molan's sold good with his legs. Just that dual
threat presence really makes a difference.
Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
Ten fifty to go. You're in the second quarter, twenty
one to three. Stout with the lead and it is
off to the right McDowell. They'll send Frank to the
left side of the formation. Two receivers right, one left
in the shotgun and a high snap there. Mowen did
a nice job getting it. Throws out to Carter, catch
made and down the sideline. He has flung down out
of bounds across the forty up near the forty three
(01:11:44):
yard line. That's enough for a first down on a
six yard gain coverage by Jack.
Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
Litkey out on the near side. But that's enough for
a first out. It's still that same red option look though,
and it really is tough on the defense. They have
to honor the run, so they have one on one
on the other side.
Speaker 4 (01:12:00):
Ten seventeen and the clock ticking down here in the
second quarter, Moowen calls for the snaphands it off to
McDowell up to got nothing there, just a wall of
white jerseys and purple pants. As they rip him backwards,
he gets right back to the line of scrimmage. First
guy up top which r J Minor, and there are
guys underneath there as well. I think over Beck again
on the stop. It'll be second and ten.
Speaker 1 (01:12:19):
He has kind of like points to just saying we're
gonna bottle up the middle and force you to go outside.
So far Stell's been able to do that pretty well.
Speaker 4 (01:12:25):
It's Kayden Moreshower who's in the game, the senior at
six foot four, big guy right up the gut the nose,
tackles spot for Stevens points second and ten from their
own forty three yard line and McDowell to the left
side of Mowen. They will hand it off to him again,
trying to run left. He does, counters to the forty five,
spinning is down to the fifty yard line. He gets
about seven eight yards on that run. A nice job
(01:12:46):
getting to the second level there for McDowell. It's an
eight yard gain. Third and two here for Stevens point.
Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
Big Ben Bistol to two hundred twent and eighty five
pound junior from Nominee came pulling across, made a nice
block on that run.
Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
And Bist's been great at that left tackle spot. You
look at this line as well. I mean you got
Briet and Scott who are seniors, but Bistle just a junior. No,
he's gonna be back next year for this Stout team
as well. Good mix of senior leadership and youth there
as well for the Blue Devils. As we took under
nine minutes up to play here in the second quarter,
Stout twenty one Stevens point three. It's a keeper for
(01:13:23):
mowing up the gut following blockers. He's got the first down,
turning the legs. They're gonna still churning it up into
Stephens point territory to the forty seven yard line, and
he got just enough for the first down. A good
run there, fro mowing to the right side.
Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
Well, he's got to have about ten carries now, Pete, Yeah,
it's his eighth.
Speaker 4 (01:13:42):
Actually, you're right on the Money's seventy yards for him
now after that run across the forty seven.
Speaker 1 (01:13:47):
Of Stevens point he'll sleep good tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:13:49):
Yeah, he certainly will seventy yards for him, sixty six
for Chandler Ross in the game so far as will McDonald.
Three runs for ten yards. Also so Stout's rushingage up
to one hundred and forty five in the game, the
clock ticking down twenty one to three, Stout leads, you're
on homecoming. Two receivers left, two tight ends right, fake
the handoff, throw it out to Carter, makes the catch
(01:14:10):
in the backfield, makes a move to the forty five.
He just kind of pulls the tackler up to the
forty yard line, maybe the thirty nine, and a good
job just staying on his feet doing what he needed
to do out on the edge end or pop making
the tackle after about a seven yard game.
Speaker 1 (01:14:23):
That's so hard on the defense. You know they're again
they're trying to stuff in the middle of the field
and stop the run. Just that little pitch and catch
out to the far side. Pretty easy pickings for Adam Mowing.
Speaker 4 (01:14:32):
Seven forty five and the clock ticking left to play
here in the second quarter, Stout twenty one, Stevens point three.
Two receivers right, one left here for Stout tight end
is Frank offset right and now they're gonna move him left.
Have Hughes to the left of Mowing in the shotgun
waits to snap. He will fake the handoff to Hughes.
Wants to go deep over the middle. Launches this one
(01:14:53):
for Carter catch make.
Speaker 21 (01:14:54):
Fifteen ten, takes the move to the five touchdown Blue Levils.
Speaker 5 (01:14:58):
Oh yout it from behind as well.
Speaker 4 (01:15:00):
Has he just kind of scrodded into the end zone
and a big store for the Blue Devils as they
take a twenty seven to pre lead over the points.
Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
Harder kind of let up there. He had that spin
move and he knew he was in. Might have been
a little bit after the play, but good no call
by the official.
Speaker 4 (01:15:16):
Forty six yard touchdown reception for Avron Carter. That's his
third of the year and the Blue Devils now lead
twenty seven to three year over sevens point and the
extra point pending.
Speaker 1 (01:15:26):
Bowen showed real good restraint on that throw. You could
tell he won to go deep, but he had some
real nice touch on that ball.
Speaker 4 (01:15:32):
Yeah, float it and let your receiver kind of make
the adjustment. He did a really nice job. As you said,
snap spot kick up and the kick from Jackman is
through in the Blue Devils lead twenty eight to three
over sevens point seven seventeen to go second quarter.
Speaker 1 (01:15:45):
We'll be back right after this. You're on the WYAC

Speaker 4 (01:16:25):
E Q is not mess with that, all right, We're good,
Welcome accurate in Menominee. It's seven seventeen left to play
second quarter. Welcome back to seven seventeen left to go,
second quarter, twenty eight to three style with lead on
steven Sware. We're gonna figure out the audio at some point, okay,
but we'll get it there. We're happy to have you
along with us. Here on the WIA Sports Network as
(01:16:47):
in Blue Devils of Marching Downfield, Joe. They have been
looked really, really good here in terms of their offense.
Two hundred nineteen yards offense. Another great drive for Stout
to go seven place, seventy one yards touchdown, just under
form and it's left on that drive as well, and
now Stout with the run up here. Jackman with a
high kick to the near side. That's a great kick
(01:17:08):
received and taking it off the seven yard line by
Lynch to the left side. He has hit at the
twenty and then trips up down to the twenty five
yard line. Hit back there once again. We've seen a
couple of plays from Kyler Lamb on special teams. He
makes a good tackle and boy, they've really contained the
Stevens points. Special teams returned it.
Speaker 1 (01:17:24):
Yeah, Carris and Jackman the kicker, he's a freshman from Lynchfield, Minnesota.
Really impressed with him today.
Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
So stouting out to the line or to the line
defensively and a twenty eight three lead over point, there's
gonna be some opportunities here. Continues to do what they're
doing to try to, you know, eventually potentially get some
second third stringers in I know we're already talking about
that in the second quarter, but we start thinking about
that a little bit. Here is it's a shotgun formation
for Smith and five receiver set, looks left the entire
(01:17:52):
way throws that is incomplete and looking the left side
for full Schwefel and just overthrowing their stout at all.
That kind of zoned up and covered really nicely. Yeah,
I think Smith would like to have that one back.
I think he had more time than what he thought.
You know, he's been under pressure so much. He kind
of let that one go a little bit quicker, probably
(01:18:13):
could have stepped into it a little more. Seven o
eight left to go, second quarter, twenty eight to three
stout with the lead, three receivers right, two to the left,
and Smith and the shotgun sends man emotion that man
was his tailback cash and he'll pitch it out to
him on the right side to the twenty five, bounces
to the thirty, turns it on and he gets first
down yard as he's chased down by Dwight Kiffmeyer. But
(01:18:33):
now before he gets the first down up to the
thirty seven. As we took under seven minutes up to
play in the second quarter. It's a first down for
Point here against Stout.
Speaker 1 (01:18:41):
Real nice play design there by the pointers. Pointer, you
know that coaching staff. They're trying to figure something out
to try to move them all down the field, and
very well executed by the guys out there as well.
Speaker 4 (01:18:51):
To the thirty seven yard line. Stevens Point will come
up with Charlie Smith here, two receivers left to right
and they got a tight end lineup left side of
the formation. Send him an emotion. He'll keep it himself
with Smithy's hit by kiff Meyer and then kind of
trips up across the forty to the forty one. Maybe
the forty two had a five yard game there on
(01:19:14):
first down and a good run for Smith again, not
a big running only under one hundred and eight yards
on the season, but when he does run he gets
about three and a half yards per carry.
Speaker 1 (01:19:22):
Well, it's twenty eight to three, but Stevens Point needs
to stay balanced. You can't just sit back and shotgun
and throw quarterbacks. Gonna be under too much dress. So
good job by the Pointers trying to stay balanced.
Speaker 4 (01:19:33):
Break the huddle here will Stevens point one receiver right,
one left and again, loaded kind of house with tight
ends and running backs back there. They'll send him out
in motion. They'll give it instead of cash it hit
in the backfield by Walker and then Sidle finishes him
off at the forty yard line. That'll be a loss
of one. Walker got the first penetration and then made
the attack.
Speaker 1 (01:19:54):
I think Walker came through untouched. Very possible.
Speaker 4 (01:19:57):
Walker is just such a talented lineman six foot three,
two hundred and forty five pounds. He's can really kind
of jump off the line and he got back there quick.
Speaker 1 (01:20:06):
For a big guy, he can really move.
Speaker 4 (01:20:07):
He can third and seven here for Stevens point, you
need to get to the forty seven for a first down,
five seventeen to go. Second quarter, twenty eight to three.
Stout three receivers left, one right, looks left the entire
way to Smith. He steps up, tries to throw this
one right side. He over threw his man, had a
man open on the right it was Andrew Miller, and
(01:20:29):
just kind of floated it to him.
Speaker 7 (01:20:31):
Guy.
Speaker 4 (01:20:31):
There could have been a hole on the left side
of the line too. They didn't call and it ends
up being fourth down.
Speaker 1 (01:20:36):
Yeah. I think Miller was doing what he was coached
to do. You know, he was coming back to the ball,
but I think the quarterback didn't realize that he wasn't
where his rult originally was supposed to be.
Speaker 4 (01:20:45):
Yeah, kind of felt like that as well. Carter gonna
stand back inside his own twenty line of scrimmage is
the forty yard line here and again this is stroud
punting again.
Speaker 1 (01:20:55):
Stealt's pressure, I think is just speeding the pointers up,
trying to make decisions a little quicker, and they're used
to so that it.
Speaker 4 (01:21:00):
Looks like they want to bring pressure here. Yeah, they're
gonna bring the house, try to get a block. They
do not line drive kick. Carter bobbles it's down on
the turf at the fifteen. He scoops it up, gonna
run left side, turns it onto the twenty. He's got
a little bit of space as he's taking down at
the twenty five yard line. He means something out of
nothing again after kind of bobbling that ball back at
the fifteen yard line. The ball's not coming out from Strouds,
(01:21:23):
but I think the way most returners are looking for it,
which is kind of throwing him off a bit.
Speaker 1 (01:21:27):
Yeah, I don't think Stroud's catching it cleanly. A lot
of end over end, a lot of wobbles coming off
the foot, no spiral at all, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:21:34):
And you see more of that with four yeah, four
fifty two left to play, second quarter twenty eight three stole.
You see more of that at every level. Now, that
kind of rugby style kick where the ball comes out funny,
but this is more I think just one of those.
As you said, he's just not squaring it up right
when he kicks it.
Speaker 1 (01:21:47):
Yeah, it might be older stepping a little bit, trying
to put a little too much into it, kind of
like when you what a defficult shot, right.
Speaker 4 (01:21:54):
Yeah, see you know something about golf, Oh, I know
a lot about definite shot. Two receivers left now, three
out to the right. His in motion was Dawson Fara
to the right side of the foundation, deflected past incomplete,
almost intercepted on the far side by Stevens point. I
think that was wes Meyer out on the edge who
had a shot at that, but that ball was kind
of floating around after the deflection at the line.
Speaker 1 (01:22:16):
Yeah, he timed that jump perfectly. Nice job from the
far side Stevens point.
Speaker 4 (01:22:22):
Defense cade Tappan and Jojo James into the game at
receiver along with Evans. Now he's gonna split out left,
the other two right, second and ten. Ball incomplete. So
the clock stopped. Four to forty seven to go. You're
in the second quarter twenty eight to three. Stout leagues
flowing him the shotgun, will fake the handoff, throws left.
(01:22:44):
Evans makes the catch at the thirty and he's not
gonna get much more. You got a little bit of
a second effort. They're gonna think mark him right at
the thirty yard line. It'll be third and five here
for Stout.
Speaker 1 (01:22:53):
Yeah, Evans tried to plant in gold, but his playfot
kind of slipped on the turf there. Good job and
get what he could get again.
Speaker 4 (01:23:01):
There was a little bit of showers that came through,
and I think they mostly stopped, but I'd imagine it's
not the driest. It's not the most sure footed of
turf at the moment, especially with the cold and no
sun out there as well, so there's a little wet
down there on the field. Two receivers right, one left,
third and five here for Stout. Need to get to
the thirty five for a first down. Two receivers right,
(01:23:21):
one left, all in the far hatch. You're gonna bring
the blitz. Mowen steps up, throws it out right side
at his carter, making the catch, but he is short
of the line to gain. As Anderson was there in
the coverage, he is about two yards short on a
three yard gain to the right side. You can tell
Stout wants to go for it, but they're gonna have
to bring the punt unit out.
Speaker 1 (01:23:38):
Mullen's timing was off just a little bit. Looked like
he had a little bit of a hard time finding
the handle on the ball. Still made a good throw,
but that half a second probably a difference between punting
and getting a first down.
Speaker 4 (01:23:49):
So indeed, Stout will bring the punt unit out. Jackman,
Sandy Mack, you're his own twenty yard line back to return.
Here is Isaiah Desjardin back near the thirty five yard line.
Jackman will get a nice high spiraler away. That's a
(01:24:10):
good punt and it will be received at the thirty two.
Here comes a return forty yard line and some cheers here.
Speaker 1 (01:24:17):
On the near side.
Speaker 4 (01:24:19):
I'm not sure what for.
Speaker 1 (01:24:20):
Did you see something down there? Somebody's excited about something
that was a nice tackle.
Speaker 4 (01:24:24):
Yeah, that might be the case. A reminder that that
was a Parker Clay again. Yeah, twelve love to play here.
Second quarter point with the ball back all right, So
to twenty seven in terms of yards for Stout, one
hundred and twenty five for Stevens point. Smith is four
of ten for seventy yards and that one pick six
(01:24:44):
from Dawson Goodman.
Speaker 1 (01:24:46):
It's always fun to see how the coaches handle this
end of the half, end of game type of situation
with the clock.
Speaker 4 (01:24:52):
Back to pass Smith, He's gonna launch this one left side.
Speaker 1 (01:24:54):
It is up.
Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
What a hit put on my lis, but he held
on little wheel route to cash it on the left side.
He is down and heard on the sideline here as well.
The Stout trainers are the closest to him. They're going
to take a look at him.
Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
I'm guessing he just got the wind knocked out of him,
kind of landed on his back.
Speaker 4 (01:25:09):
He got to the thirty seven yard line, was gained
there of about twenty one yards and yeah, he get
popped right back up.
Speaker 1 (01:25:16):
That has a really nice throw, perfect touch.
Speaker 4 (01:25:18):
That was we checked that cash in My apologies, my
yellow tinted eyes have not been able to catch some
of those numbers here at times. You can see him
on your video here at home. They are tough to catch.
So the one receiver of the right number of tight
ends and backs here again that wing formation here for
smith sends him out in motion and instead it's a
(01:25:41):
counterplay right to left to the thirty five. Nice smooth
thirty to the down here the twenty five yard line.
That was Lynch from the right side. But that looked
like a play right out of the Regis Rambler inverted
double wing book there. That's from the Brian Brenner school.
A little counterplay from right to left when everything looks
like it's going right.
Speaker 1 (01:25:58):
A good run the defense back for style. Jesse Ellis
had an opportunity there, but he's only one hundred and
sixty five poulins. He was giving him quite a bit
of weight.
Speaker 4 (01:26:07):
Yeah, left him right back their twenty five yard line
to eighteen to go here in the second quarter, we're
approaching the two minute timeout and Steven's point, not a
huge hurry. Let's see if they get a playoff here
to ten ticking down. I think they're going to get
a playoff. Smith sends a man of motion. That's cashing
left to right four three two.
Speaker 1 (01:26:25):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:26:25):
They take the snap. Smith is going to run and
roll to his right. Now he looks back left. Catch
made at an open field tackle from Ellis back of
the thirty two yard line.
Speaker 1 (01:26:33):
That is a big time loss, about a six yard loss.
Speaker 4 (01:26:36):
As a mark him at the thirty one and with
one fifty sixth left to play, we hit the two
minute time out, so second and long. We'll be coming
up here for Stevens point when we come back after
the break. Right here on your home for Blue double
football the WIAC Sports.

Speaker 4 (01:27:32):
Welcome back here too. Youw a stout to Donnan one
Williams Stadium, two minute timeout. One fifty six officially left
to play here in the second cornersout in twenty eight
Stevens point three Peekadoots and Josadowski and a second and
sixteen coming up here for Stevens point out of the
two minute timeout.
Speaker 1 (01:27:48):
Boy Ellis made a great play on that last one.
Smith fakes a handoff, rolls out to his right. He's
got space to run.
Speaker 4 (01:27:53):
He's gonn launch it instead, catch is made inside the
twenty down here the sixteen yard line and about a
yard shore to the first down marker. They're on second
and long. Nice catch from Phillips over there on the
right side, and boys third and one coming up here
for point.
Speaker 1 (01:28:08):
Good business decision there by Smith. He could have ran it,
but let the receiver take the hit instead.
Speaker 4 (01:28:13):
One thirty left to play here in the second in
Stevens point Contend to let the clock run a bit.
They do have two timeouts, but they got plenty of time.
Right now, they're gonna send four receivers left.
Speaker 1 (01:28:23):
Yeah, they don't want stell it to get another possession.
Speaker 4 (01:28:25):
And now they're gonna go in motion here make it
one receiver left, and now it's that wing formation again.
They'll pitch it out to cash it on the left
side and he is stopped. He didn't get it needed
to get to the fifteen and he is short a yard.
Great job by the defense for Stout stopping him there.
And now you got fourth down, and I think, yeah,
who's gonna take a time out?
Speaker 7 (01:28:45):
Here?
Speaker 4 (01:28:45):
We're gonna take under a minute left to play and
no one's gonna take a time out at the moment.
Do you kick a field goal?
Speaker 1 (01:28:52):
Do you go for it? You got it on you? Yeah?
I think I think you do too. Don twenty eight
to three.
Speaker 4 (01:28:57):
Oh, you're gonna get to a point here with about
what take a time out? You could at about what
the thirty second mark right in that range. We'll see
they're gonna come to the line here, ten seconds left
on the play clock, not taking a time out at
Stevens point. Now he's gonna go under center heres Smith
Stout might try to load up the line and now whistling,
Stout's gonna take a time out after they saw the
(01:29:17):
line up there with thirty two seconds raiding in the
second quarter, twenty eight to three, Stout with the lead
as the play clock was sticking down. Yeah, I think
Stevens points trying to not allow any time left for
sout and South saying I don't want to take a
time out here because if we get a first down,
I don't want to give you more time to getting
the end zone.
Speaker 7 (01:29:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:29:32):
I think both coaches did a nice job, but it
certainly is a chess game, no doubt about it.
Speaker 4 (01:29:37):
Seven of twelve is that a moment in this game?
With one touchdown in eighty one yards, he has also
rushed for seventy yards on the ground. Chandler Ross sixty
six yards rushing and two touchdowns he only had He's
only had four carries to have sixty six yards ten
yards from Zoe McDowell. The Blue Devils have four receptions
from Abron Carter from that fifty six yards and a
touchdown as well. Vante Evans sixteen yards receiving nine yards
(01:30:01):
for Jojo James On the other side for Smith, he's
seven of thirteen with an interception in one hundred yards.
He's been sacked once as well. Cashon is rushed for
thirty two yards on ten attempts, seventeen yards rushing for
Lynch receiving wise we Check has forty four Cash, it
has twenty eight yards receiving effects. They've got what six
different receivers who have caught a ball for Stevens points
(01:30:23):
so far in the game. River Falls is doing something
pretty wild. They're in pop player. They're got forty two
to nothing on the blue goals with eight to eleven
left in the second quarter. That is wild ouch, All right,
back here to go, and now you're gonna bring Lucas Mills,
a junior running back at two hundred and thirty pounds
(01:30:43):
on the left side. It's gonna be a wildcat formation.
Cashing gonna run right. He had hole and he stays
on his feet across at fifteen and he is eventually
taken down across the ten and all the way up
to the seven yard line. Clock will stop momentarily with
twenty five seconds left, him up the chains and now
we will give a time out taken by Stevens point
their second they have one remaining.
Speaker 1 (01:31:04):
Yeah, guts, he called by the pointers and they needed
that for sure. But you know Cash and he's been there,
big running back and just give it right to him
and let them find a hole. And that's what they did.
Speaker 4 (01:31:13):
They go wildcat formation, like you said. They also brought
their backup running back Lucas mills In, who's a massive humanity,
had five foot ten, two thirty. He had a feeling
that they might try to hand it off to him
and just play a power game, but yeah, cash and
just kind of waited for his blocks and figured out
a way in as Whitewater has a fourteenth three leade
on platful at halftime and they're just.
Speaker 1 (01:31:34):
Underway and lacrosse across his first drive.
Speaker 4 (01:31:36):
Ins and a touchdown, they're up to six to nothing
extra point bending in that game, Joe, you had a
chance to catch up with Chancellor Frank. We're gonna have
that interview at halftime. Looking forward to that, and that's
a fun conversation. You got the two biggest education coordinators
in town. I think talking to Joe.
Speaker 1 (01:31:51):
I don't know about that, but yeah, Chancellor Frank is
doing a great job at Stellut And yeah, it's a
good interview.
Speaker 4 (01:31:58):
Yeah, I should look forward to that again. Here at
half time at homecoming under center goes Smith. He's got
the double wing formation and he'll pitch it. No fake
the pitch. He's gonna roll to his right. Stout saw
it initially but they didn't get coverage in the end zone.
Passes caught touchdown Stevens Point. Matt getch it with the reception.
It's the first touchdown of the game for Stevens Point.
That was a great misdirection. First one guy, I think
(01:32:19):
it was Matt Blank on the edge. He knew it
was coming. He almost got to him, slipped on the
turf and when he did that, it was a wide
open pass.
Speaker 1 (01:32:26):
That was a risky play, but it really worked in.
Great job by the quarterbacks selling the fake.
Speaker 4 (01:32:31):
It was not Blank. It was actually Jacob Didle who
saw it coming and got out there. As he looked
at that replay and it was all everything was right
there for Stout trying to catch it, but not enough
guys realized that that was a fake. And here's the
extra point that is up and it is good and
it's a twenty eight to ten lead for Stout with
nineteen seconds remaining in the second quarter and two timeouts
(01:32:53):
remaining for the Blue Devils as well. But we'll keep
it here since we just took a break and we're
close to the end the half. Also, again, this is
a Stout team that has beaten Stevens Point eight times
in a row. You heard from coach Birmingham before the game.
This is kind of interesting talking to him. You know,
Burm played defensive back, was an All YAK player. I
(01:33:14):
think it was why it was a w SEC at
the time, but whatever it was at the time in
the conference, was an all conference player. It was four
and zero against Stout and in his third season, his
junior season, had ten total tackles, a TfL in, an
interception against Stout. And that's a tough one, right.
Speaker 1 (01:33:32):
I mean, you know Joe and you got to you
know you're coaching or you're at a new school, but
you know your alma maters playing that school.
Speaker 4 (01:33:38):
It's always kind of a tough tension. But he's managed
that pretty well.
Speaker 1 (01:33:41):
Yeah, there's probably not a lot of connections left. Yeah,
but even still you have your memories and you know,
certainly coach Birmingham has done a great job for the
Blue Devils and it's got to be different having stevens
Point coming in here first outs homecoming.
Speaker 4 (01:33:53):
If you heard our pregame show, he talked about he's
got that box down in the in the in the basement,
right with all the old purple and gold gear left
in it, which is kind of fun as here comes
to kickoff a low line drive and Evans is going
to scoop it up at the twenty five yard line.
You can get a return here, thirty five far sideline
to the thirty five, thirty six, maybe the thirty seven
as he was with the far hash park there and
(01:34:13):
now I'm thirteen seconds left into the win. You're up eighteen.
Speaker 1 (01:34:18):
Take a knee.
Speaker 4 (01:34:18):
Yeah, I would think you'd probably take a knee here,
but you got such great receivers you almost want to
at least let know, yeah, let it loose once and
see what happened.
Speaker 1 (01:34:28):
Well, no one could throw it a long way, and yeah,
with two time outs or a potential penalty, the lot
can happen. I don't know. I've seen a lot of
bad end of the half this year on Friday Night,
so I'd be taking a knee here. But they're different story.
They're huddling around Nick Pschick right now.
Speaker 4 (01:34:44):
I wonder if they're trying to come up with something,
if they got that trick play in the bag that
they want to bust out, right.
Speaker 1 (01:34:49):
But that's the other thing. Do you want to show
a trick play up twenty eight to ten. You know
you might need that down the road.
Speaker 4 (01:34:54):
They're talking about it so much. If they're going to
take a time out before the change over here, so
timeout taken by Stout. So both teams have one time
out left here at thirteen seconds remaining in the second quarter.
We've passed a two o'clock hour time for an ID.
It's a news Stock WMQAMA eighty men nominee translator W
two nine to two e g O Clayer one O
six point three FM, and I our radio station here
(01:35:14):
on the radio side, happy to have you along with
the Stout will be traveling down to Lacrosse on Saturday
next week. We'll have that game for you right here
on Newstock wm EQ coming up next week from roder
Herrings Stadium on one o'clock. Start all the games at
one o'clock start next week in the WIAC and so
(01:35:35):
stout again. They will then head to Platte Build the
week after and then host River Falls to end the season.
And there's just not a week off.
Speaker 1 (01:35:43):
In this conferences thanks to Out. It's gonna run a
play here. It's like it, Yeah, you got Evans.
Speaker 4 (01:35:48):
You think that they probably want to get single covers,
but you can see Stevens point where they're putting three
safeties back about fifteen yards away from the line of scrimmage,
hoping that they won't give up anything deep one. We'll
hand it off to Ross. Ross can to counter the
right side, but he's got a forty five man. He
doesn't get tackled there, and there is a definite chance
(01:36:09):
nine yard run for Ross up to the forty seven
and now five seconds remain. And I wonder if that
was just to get it maybe into hail mary range.
Speaker 1 (01:36:17):
I think you're right, you know, the Bone's got a
good arm, but throwing at fifty yards is in the air,
is a long way to go. You just don't see
it very often. I think, you know, you get spoiled
sometimes watching.
Speaker 4 (01:36:28):
The NFL to see all the hail mary attempts with
those guys are you know, obviously at the top of
their game and the top of their profession with the
strength that they can throw. We saw what a couple
of weeks ago, I saw Regis throw a thirty six
yard hail mary for a touchdown to win the game
against Mondovi, which again, you just don't see it at
this at a high school level and a lot of
times at this level of college either absolutely wild.
Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
Well, the key is you got to give him time.
You know, if he can have time, let the receivers
get down the field and really heave one.
Speaker 8 (01:36:59):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:36:59):
The other thing you could look at is, you know
a little bit of a gimmick, you know, maybe a
hooking ladder type of deal. That way you're maybe only
throwing the ball twenty thirty yards with the trailer coming
after the completion. That would be a pretty popular play
in this type of situation.
Speaker 4 (01:37:12):
Yeah, you got a lot of six foot two, six
foot three guys for Stout, and they're gonna put Evans
and tap and tappings, the tallest guy for the Blue Devils,
Evans and tap it on the left side, Carter on
the right side.
Speaker 1 (01:37:24):
Yeah, look at all the guys back, four safeties back
for Steven's point at the fifteen yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:37:28):
They only think no one can throw it about to
the fifteen yard line. That looks like again, the line
of scrimmage is the Stout forty seven, and he will
hand it off. You're right on the gimmick. It's skews
right up the gut and he is down with two
seconds left. They'll stop the clocker. They can get up
and clock this if they want. If they can, let's
see if the official starts the clock before the chase moves,
(01:37:49):
they're gonna just take it to the halftime locker room.
No one wants to do anything else, so there's gonna
get us some yardage. It looks like they're at the
end of the half, and off you go. So that
is the end of the half. Stout twenty eight Steve
point ten and it's the end of the first half.
We'll have our thoughts on that in two minutes right
after this here on your home for Blue Double Football.
Speaker 2 (01:38:08):
The UW Stout Halftime Show, presented by Bob and Steve's

According to a twenty twenty two FBI statistic, less than
point zero one percent of all altercations require a lethal response.
Now think about that. Now, we all have a safety plan.
If you don't, you need one that includes firearms. That's
only necessary less than one percent of the time. So
what is your new plan for ninety nine point nine
to nine percent of the time. But you can start
(01:38:39):
with the burner launcher BYRNA. It's the less lethal launcher
that can de escalate any situation for ninety nine percent
of any altercations. Now, the new Burner Compact launcher is
the smallest less lethal option to date. It's concealable anywhere.
It fires powerful kinetic rounds, tier gas, pepper spray. It

Speaker 7 (01:40:27):
Broad Conference.
Speaker 4 (01:40:28):
Welcome back here to UW Stout and Down and Williams Stadium.
Those of you watching us on the WIEC Sports networker.
Seeing a number of the former Blue Doubles football teams
being honored here at halftime as part of homecoming, and
a lot of great Stout legends here on the football field.
Nineteen sixty five team being honored here in a number
(01:40:49):
of conference championship teams as well, which is a lot
of fun. Peknots and Josadowski with you here at halftime,
it is a twenty eight to ten lead for Stout
over Stevens Point here at halftime, I'm Joe, before we
get to the stats real quickly, just kind of your thoughts.
I mean, littlevill see what they want, but i mean, yeah,
look at it. It's only an eighteen point league. Feels
like it probably should be a little bit more for
(01:41:10):
Stout in that first half, maybe not taking advantage of
as many opportunities as they want. And Steeven's point at
a nice drive right there at the end of the
half to get their first touchdown of the game.
Speaker 1 (01:41:19):
Yeah, it really was all Stout, but that drive right
before halftime was a difference maker. For a while there,
it looked like Stout might be able to get the
ball back, maybe even look for a double dip opportunity
scoring at the end of the first half getting the
ball back coming out after halftime. But give Stevens Point
credit that those kids, they're playing their hearts out, and
the coaches made some real nice adjustments, you know, kind
of stretching that defense a little bit, and Point put
(01:41:41):
themselves right back into this thing.
Speaker 4 (01:41:43):
Hey, look at the halftime stats. Stout with eleven first
downs to the point to eight first downs. They have
one hundred and seventy yards on the ground is Stout
to seventy six for Stevens. More, that's still pretty good
against the Stout defense that only allows ninety yards per
game on the ground as well, two hundred and fifty
one yards of total offense for Stout one hundred and
eighty three for Stevens point point is two of eight
(01:42:05):
on third down, South as two of four on third down,
and Stout has only possessed the ball for thirteen minutes
twenty five seconds compared to the sixteen to thirty five. Now,
I think part of that Stout's moving the ball a
little bit faster and with more Chick plays downfield as well,
but nonetheless that is where that stat sits up there
as well. In terms of individuals, Chandler Ross with fifty
(01:42:26):
seven yards rushing on five carries and two touchdowns. Adam
Owen has seventy yards rushing, Chase Hughes has fifteen, Zoe
McDowell has ten receiving. Wise, Abron Carter has fifty six
yards and a touchdown that thirty nine yard touchdown that
he had earlier in the game. Devout to Evan's sixteen
yards receiving their leading receiver for Stevens point forty four
(01:42:46):
yards for Raid and we check and twenty eight yards
receiving for Bryce and Cashing. And in terms of passing
eight to fourteen for Charlie Smith, seven of twelve for
Anamo and Mowen eighty one yards and a touchdown. Smith
one hundred seven yards a touchdown and interception. He's been
sacked once.
Speaker 1 (01:43:03):
Well in the big thing Pete coming into the game,
I was really, you know, kind of surprised as he
starts rushing numbers so low, but to have one hundred
and seventy yards rushing in the first half, what a difference.
You know, seventeen carries? What is that ten?
Speaker 4 (01:43:16):
Well ten to carry? Yeah, yeah, it's exactly that ten
of carry, You're right, and you know, I mean it's
one of those two are Coach Birmingham talked about it, said, hey,
the weather's changing, it's getting colder, it's gonna get rainier
and you know, nastier in terms of weather here. We
got to learn how to run the ball if we
want to have a chance to win going forward in
the WIAC and that's I think most team, especially playoffs
(01:43:36):
in high school. It's the same way, right, you're trying
to think we need a running game if we want
to be able to advance as we go.
Speaker 1 (01:43:41):
Well, it's all connected too. If you run the ball, well,
that just makes your passing game that much better. And
we saw that with a couple of the shots that
Stellt was able to take down the.
Speaker 4 (01:43:48):
Field at halftime in other games as well. In fact,
they're not quite at half time at Carson Parks. Player's
scoring some points, but River falls up forty two to
fourteen against Bea Claire with two thirty eight left to
go in the second courter. There, it's halftime in Whitewater.
The Warrocks lead fourteen to three over Platt Built. In
Lacrosse Leaeds seven or nothing over Osh Gosh with eight
thirteen to go on the first they were at two
(01:44:08):
o'clock start today as well. All right, we'll take quick
break while jose Adowski's interview with Chancellor Catherine Frank that's
coming up here right after the break. It's halftime here
between Stout and Stevens. Quite it's Stout twenty eight, Stevens
point ten. And you're listening right here on the WIAC
Sports Network.

Every time I turn around, my friends at pure talk
give me one more reason to feel good about switching.
This month, for instance, they're supporting Canines for Warriors, a
terrific organization that trains rescue dogs and then pairs them
up with combat veterans struggling with PTSD. The result, they're
saving lives on both ends of the leash. This is
(01:45:46):
why I switched to pure Talk. I like being in
business with an American wireless company who shares my values. Yeah,
I appreciate unlimited talk text and plenty of five G

bet you will too, But I think you'll really appreciate
doing business with a company who gives back to the

Speaker 1 (01:46:26):
Joining us now for the halftime show is the Chancellor
for E. W. Stout, Catherine Frank. Chancellor Frank, thank you
so much for joining us on our halftime show.
Speaker 15 (01:46:34):
Yeah, it's thrilled to be here, Joe. It's been a
while since we've done this. It was early in my
career that we had an interview at halftime. I think
join one of your games.
Speaker 1 (01:46:41):
Yeah, I think that was one of the Mustang's games.
And it's hard to believe you've been here for more
than five years now, and boy Stout is really rock
and it's really been fun to see all the great happening.
Great thing's happening at our university.
Speaker 15 (01:46:53):
Yeah, we're excited about all of the good news. If
you come on to campus, you'll see all of the
work underway on here Atage Hall project, we're really excited
about getting underway. Next on the list is a renovation
of the rec complex. Enrollment is up, new programs are emerging.
We're just it's a great day to be a Blue Devil.
Speaker 5 (01:47:13):
It really is.
Speaker 1 (01:47:14):
And you and I were talking earlier about how you know,
it seems like it was just yesterday that everyone was
dealing with the pandemic and all the challenges. It's so
nice to be here today. Here we are homecoming week.
Just a wonderful week with a lot of different activities.
I know you've been super busy.
Speaker 15 (01:47:29):
Oh yeah, it's been a busy, busy few days. And
today started with breakfast at the Buck. Always a fun
time to visit with alumni are who are back in
town or are our local and coming out to celebrate homecoming,
the homecoming parade, and now a great football game. You
never know what's going to happen in the YAK and
(01:47:49):
every day is every day is exciting. So it's a
wonderful homecoming and lots to celebrate and lots of alumni
to celebrate with.
Speaker 1 (01:47:59):
It really is nice to have the homecoming activity you mentioned.
The YAK is a great conference and weekend and week out,
it seems like every game is a huge game. But
there's really something about celebrating homecoming, not only the homecoming
of alumni, but like you mentioned, the people who are
in town. For some people, this is the only game
they might get to during the year. It's just really
nice to celebrate that tradition and the pride that people
(01:48:21):
have for u W Stout.
Speaker 15 (01:48:23):
Yeah, it's this community embraces UW Stout And I knew
that from day one when I came during a really
difficult time. You've already mentioned it. I started seven days
before I sent everybody away during the pandemic, and this
community embraced me and they embrace this institution. And so
celebrations like homecoming, it brings together our students, it brings
(01:48:44):
together our faculty and staff. Then our alumni come into town,
and our community partners and our community friends helped to
celebrate and it's all about celebrating what is great about
UW Stout. But whenever we celebrate what is great about
Uba you Stout, we're celebrating what is great about our
community and what is great about our state. So it's
(01:49:05):
it's always a fantastic celebration and just just exciting every
year to be able to get together and write share
in the spirit of homecoming.
Speaker 1 (01:49:16):
That spirit of homecoming really is evident, demnominee. You know,
the high school had the homecoming a few weeks ago,
and it really is a tribute to the community partners
to allow for parades to happen and all the different
events at the university, it's a little bit more on campus.
At the same time, you know, there's going to be
community members that are going to be out for the parade,
and they're going to be at the ballgame, and again
(01:49:38):
what a great celebration.
Speaker 15 (01:49:40):
Yeah, every year I look forward to the parade. My
husband and I come out and greet people and you know,
just have fun with again our current student body, faculty
and staff, but then the community and it's just you know,
it's a it's a fun way to showcase what we're
(01:50:01):
doing and to meet and greet people who've come out
just to enjoy the morning, enjoy the day.
Speaker 1 (01:50:08):
I know you already mentioned some of the building projects
that are happening on campus and we only have a
couple of minutes. I know, we could talk for an
hour about all the great things happening. I know there's
also been accreditation meetings and programming changes and you know,
robotics and all this stuff. Is there anything else that
you want to point out for the viewers today as
we wrap up our halftime interview.
Speaker 15 (01:50:28):
Yeah, it's just again things I've already mentioned. People are
paying attention to STOUT and we have an increase in
our student body and we're doing really exciting things. As
you've mentioned in our labs. We've had some wonderful equipment donations,
wonderful infrastructure improvements, and our students are able to do
what they do best at a polytechnic university, and that's
(01:50:51):
really a great education, but it's able to they're able
to apply that education in our classrooms, in our labs,
in our studios, on their co ops and their internships.
So yeah, it's whenever you see this type of development
on a campus, it's a really positive sign and we
just hope we continue to grow into the future and
(01:51:13):
do what we do best as Wisconsin's polytechnic university.
Speaker 1 (01:51:17):
And speaking of what Stout does best, I know, one
of the things that Stout has been proud of and
most proud of for years is the job placement rate.
It is amazing to think that students come to Stout
for their education and then when they graduate, they're not
just graduating with the diploma, they're graduating with opportunity.
Speaker 15 (01:51:33):
Yeah, we tout it quite a bit, right, ninety nine
percent within six months of graduation from Stout, students are
placed into their career right. And so it is it
is you know, it's a testament to the hard work
of our faculty and staff. It is due to the
(01:51:56):
wonderful collaboration with our mini business and industry partner. Is
it has to do with that community spirit, right that
I talked about earlier with respect to homecoming. You can't
do this work well unless you collaborate with a network
of people, right who help to get the work done.
(01:52:17):
And so yes, our students enjoy a wonderful placement rate,
and that again is due to a network of opportunities
created by the university and our partners outside of the university.
Speaker 1 (01:52:30):
And again we're talking with our halftime guest, Chancellor Catherine Frank.
Chancellor Frank, thank you so much. It's been a wonderful day,
looking forward to a great second half, and you're doing
a great job. What a great celebration for homecoming week.
Speaker 15 (01:52:44):
Well, it's wonderful to be here with you, Joe. Thank
you for everything that you do to support our university.
And like I said, it's a great day to be
a Blue Devil. Go Blue Devils.
Speaker 1 (01:52:54):
All right, So that was our halftime show. We'll be
back in just a minute with the second half. You
are watching the Blue Devil football game homecoming right here

This is UW Stout Football on News Talk wm.
Speaker 4 (01:57:11):
EQ heay, welcome back Garrett too, Donadona Williams Stadium. It
is Stout twenty eight Stevens point ten at halftime. Peekadots
and Joe Zadowski with you. Special thanks one to Joe
forgetting the interview, but also the Chancellor Frank for giving
that interview, and probably a good thing to talk to
the chancellor on homecoming to talk about all that. Boy,
(01:57:32):
we had a really cool moment there at halftime, a
bunch of former championship teams and athletes being honored, most
notably the two thousand championship WAC championship team in football
that went ten to zero, and then, of course, most recently,
the twenty five final four bound UW STUF Blue Doubles
(01:57:53):
women's basketball team. Looking forward to seeing what they're going
to do. The fact the Top twenty five just came
out for both men's and women's basketball in Division three
and stout despite losing, Oh it's something around like seventy
eighty percent of their scoring from last year's still getting
votes in the top twenty five pall, which I think
you probably should after you make it to the final
four of the year before, shouldn't you.
Speaker 8 (01:58:14):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:58:14):
Yeah, I think they do a great job. What a
program they've built.
Speaker 4 (01:58:18):
We a lot of fun hand iverson back at the
helm of that team, and we're going to see a
whole new starting lineup. But I like, I like what
we've seen so far from the players who are coming back,
a couple of nominee Mustangs, Mary Berg, there's well, I
think there's a freshman or two who might be from
a nominee as well.
Speaker 1 (01:58:32):
Yeah, Brooklyn Burt. She was a post player at Monomnie
High School the last several years, and I think she'll
help them.
Speaker 4 (01:58:37):
She's a real good athlete. Looking forward to that certainly.
Those games are starting up not too far away. I
think we had two weeks to the Stout Blue Doves
women's seem will be at the UWO Player tip Off
tournament at the Son and Teg Center. Men's basketball getting
ready to start as well. Tom Webb now at the
Helm after Jim Lake moved on to coach as an
assistant at both his and my alma mater at Central
(01:58:59):
Michigan University. So I'll be looking forward to watching some
Chipwiz games this year too. But Tom at the Helm
this year, And Pete you mentioned Chancellor Frank. She does
a great job, and you know, being superintendent, I'm in
a lot of different meetings with her, a lot of
economic development stuff, Chamber of Commerce stuff, and.
Speaker 1 (01:59:16):
She is all UW Stolle. But she also sees the
figure picture with the community with my seat. She's just
a real terrific chancellor. Really nice to have that.
Speaker 4 (01:59:25):
She was a really cool part of that final four
run for the women's basketball team. She had some kind
of I think it was a meeting or something before
the Elite eight game. Couldn't make it to the Sweet
sixteen game, and then like got on a plane, took
a red eye and somehow got to Scranton, Pennsylvania to
watch him defeat Scranton in Scranton, which was pretty amazing
in that Elite eight round last year. All right, we're
(01:59:46):
ready for the start of the second half. Steven's point
goes right to left, stout left right, Here we go.
It is Jojo James at the eleven yard line, right
between the hash marks. He'll move to the far side
line between the hash marks and numbers at the twenty five.
He avoids a tackle, gonna try bounce.
Speaker 5 (02:00:00):
Near syd He's got a chance to go thirty five.
Speaker 4 (02:00:03):
Forty to the forty five, and he's chased down and
pushed out of bounds near the fifty yard line. Jojo
James is rolling his head, going, man, I wish I
had one more lane. A great bounce out there for
Jojo James a great return into Stevens Point territory to
the forty nine yard line.
Speaker 1 (02:00:20):
The kicker againing goldline did a nice job using the
boundary to end up getting that tackle. Anytime your kicker
is making a tackle, that's not a good situation. And
I think that's probably why Jojo James is rolling his
head there. He's going, oh man, I'm gonna get pushed
out of bounds by the kicker here. Yeah. The kicker
though he's six three hundred and eighty five poumns, he's
a good sized kicker.
Speaker 4 (02:00:39):
Two receivers to the left here and one tight end right,
one tight end left. New tight end into the game
for Stout as well. Cole Finland is into the game
and is still Adam Moen twenty eight to ten to
throw left side catch made by James, but he goes
down again. Kind of footing problems there as he goes
down at the forty six to make that catch a
three yard game second and seven.
Speaker 1 (02:00:59):
This is an important drive for U. W. Stellt. You know,
they started the first half on a terrific high note.
But Stevens Point answered right before halftime and it was
a good kick return to get good field position, and
now all the Blue Devils need to take advantage well.
Speaker 4 (02:01:11):
And you know we talked about this in the onset
right last year at Stevens Point, a big lead and
then all of a sudden fifteen points for Stevens Point
in the fourth quarter, and they kind of let the
Pointers back into that game when they probably shouldn't have. So, yeah,
they got to make sure they take advantage of stuff.
You're thrown out right side. Carter makes a catch forty five,
got a block to the forty and he's taking down
from behind across the thirty five and up near the
thirty three, maybe the thirty two yard line, as he
(02:01:33):
has tackled on the play by Joe Partney, not Joe
Barns rather than Tanner Morozek who came back and got it.
Speaker 1 (02:01:40):
But first down for the Blue Divers. Pete, you mentioned
the block that was number fourteen, Aaron Williams, one hundred
ninety five pounds senior from Baron, Wisconsin. It was the
perfect timing because you can't start that block until the
catch is made, otherwise you have offensive pass interference. The
timing was perfect and he made a really nice block.
Speaker 4 (02:01:56):
It gets to the thirty three yard line on the play,
It's first and ten for Stout at the thirty three
of Steven's point. Moving left or right toward the south
end zone. Hughes is the tailback off to the right
of Mowing. Two receivers left, one right, balling the near
Hashmark pick the hand Uf looks left now over the top,
he'll throw It is caught by Kate Tappan near the
twenty yard line. Good coverage downfield from west Meyer, but man,
he hung in there made the catch to the nineteen
(02:02:18):
yard line.
Speaker 1 (02:02:19):
It's a first down.
Speaker 12 (02:02:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:02:20):
Tapping the one hundred and ninety five pound softmore from
Mount Minnesota. He really had some strong hands on that one.
He had to battle for the ball. Tapa had a
great game against De Butte the opening game. Then he's
been kind of battling injuries, but came back in the
lineup last week against Whitewater.
Speaker 4 (02:02:34):
Looked good and now he's looking even better here today.
Back into the starting lineup. One receiver right is Evans,
two receivers left tight on the formation. He'll be Hughes
to the left of Mowing near Hashmark at the nineteen
yard line. He will give it on a reverse to Evans.
They got blocked set up, and then he fought right
through it and there's a tackle in the backfield. Great
job by Xander Pop he blew up the block. It'll
(02:02:56):
be a big loss back to the twenty six, a
seven yard loss on the play.
Speaker 1 (02:03:01):
Yeah, it looks like there might have been a lane
going up the middle, but you kind of have to
choose one, and unfortunately he's first out. He chose the
wrong lane.
Speaker 4 (02:03:08):
Yeah, the middle lane probably gets you yards, but it
doesn't get you a touchdown. And I'm sure for Evans
he's thinking, if I bounce it out, yeah, I might
get tackled, but if I get around that edge, I
got a shot.
Speaker 1 (02:03:17):
Yeah, in the middle lane, there's also linebackers coming at you.
Speaker 4 (02:03:19):
There are those guys too. Business decision, that is for sure.
Two receivers move out to the right, both Carter and Evans.
It's second and long second about seventeen here for Stout,
twelve oh five left to play here in the third quarter,
twenty eight to ten. Sout leads now three receivers of
the right side, mowing a roll to that side. He
throws it to that way James makes a catch up
to twenty jukes a defender at the fifteen being pulled
(02:03:40):
down from behind him.
Speaker 1 (02:03:41):
Oh, there's extra after the play at the ten. It'll
be first and goal from the five. That's a terrible
bro a terrible hit, a terrible after the play move
there by those pointers. Yeah, actually it's not gonna result
in that many yards as kind of a frustration move.
And uh, he's gonna run out to the sideline. I
can't see the number, but yeah, that.
Speaker 7 (02:04:00):
Was uncalled for.
Speaker 4 (02:04:04):
So it is on number forty six there Paul Morris,
the backup linebacker, and that was I think they marked
him at the eleven, so the market just outside the five.
Speaker 1 (02:04:12):
But it'll be first and goal from the five. Yeah,
he's gonna take a little time ault over there, a
little frustrated.
Speaker 4 (02:04:17):
I think now his coaches are gonna let him know
about that and just not need it again. Like you said,
it only costs five yards, but it costs you a
little bit more. Might invigorates out a little bit here
now is there at the five yard line. No one's
gonna send James in motion from the trips right, he'll
go up as a tailback. They will keep it to
Mowing right side. Got to make a move. He'll stiff
armer defender to the five, turns the legs down near
(02:04:38):
the three yard line. As it took three white jerseys
to bring him down. Carter Dalky makes the tackle along
with others a second and goal.
Speaker 1 (02:04:46):
Well, football is an emotional game and sometimes it's hard
to keep those emotions in check. But he'll be back
out there for Steven's point before you know it, and
they bring in the power back, Chandler Ross. I say
power back.
Speaker 4 (02:04:58):
He's got great speed, well, but six two hundred twenty pounds,
he's already got two touchdowns in the game. And he
now is offset to the left of Mowing. And this
is usually Chandler Rosstein for Stout twenty eight ten. Stout
leads at early third quarter second and goal from the three.
Ross moves to the right of Mowing and it will
be a keeper for Mowing, moving right, breaks at tackle.
Speaker 5 (02:05:17):
Lunches for the end zone and he break the plane.
He did touchdown Blue Devils.
Speaker 4 (02:05:22):
Well, m a Moen keeper.
Speaker 1 (02:05:23):
You were calling it. I think Stevens point thought Ross
is gonna get the ball for sure, and Mowen saw
that and he just pulled it out and ran it
in himself. Mowen with his six touchdown of the season.
Speaker 4 (02:05:33):
That will put him up to seventy five yards on
the game as well, rushing and Stout leads thirty four
to ten here over Stevens point ten, fifty three left
to go.
Speaker 1 (02:05:42):
Third quarter. Yeah, looking for that replay?
Speaker 4 (02:05:46):
Great?
Speaker 1 (02:05:46):
Great Westermeyer for Stevens point had a chance, but he's
one hundred and eighty five pounds and Adam Owen just
able to get through him.
Speaker 4 (02:05:52):
Yeah, big big quarterback is mowing? Is that one is
kicked through by Jackman? Thirty five tens? Stout leads and
we'll come back right after this. Here, I'm gonna UAC
Sports Network.

Speaker 1 (02:06:42):
Welcome back in here at Awstown.
Speaker 4 (02:06:44):
It's don and on to Williams stateiu's thirty five to
ten Stout with the lead, a good drive there by
the levels to get in for the touchdown. They once
again add to the tally of seven play forty nine
yard drive, three minutes fifty four seconds and Joe, some
real nice plays and play calling there. They're not doing
they're not doing too much. They're just kind of taking
advantage of what the defense is given them. And so far,
(02:07:06):
so good here for Stout on that at of Mowent run.
Speaker 1 (02:07:08):
Yeah, we talked about it. That first drive after halftime
was an important one, trying to get that momentum back.
That's exactly what the Blue Devils did.
Speaker 4 (02:07:14):
Up to two hundred ninety four yards of offense for
South today, one hundred and eighty three for UW. Stevens point.
Jackman's kick is a short one, trying to angle it
here near side. It's swooped up at the twenty seven.
Oh there's a lane left side and pushed out of
mounds at the forty yard line. Nice get put on
there by Hunter's scape as he hits him out of
bounds right at the line, right at the forty yard line.
(02:07:35):
We're gonna give him the forty one and a good
return in the end or Stevens point. Look like they
were trying for that angle kick that could maybe falling
at the turf if you don't get to it quick
and offense. Fortunately didn't work out there for sout. Good
deal position.
Speaker 1 (02:07:48):
Here for the pointers two seven another action.
Speaker 4 (02:07:52):
Oh, Claire's done a nice job fighting back. They're down
now forty two to twenty one. They were down forty
two to nothing that game at halftime. Now Platteville has
fought back. Whitewater leads fourteen to twelve with four point
fifty two left to go in the third quarter, and
Lacrosse leads fourteen to three in the first quarter. That
ball is incomplete. I think somebody might have got.
Speaker 1 (02:08:10):
A hand on that.
Speaker 4 (02:08:10):
One is trying to throw to the near side with
Smith trying to find a Schwaefel, and that ball look
kind of dead out of the hand, So I wonder
if somebody hit the line got a hand on that ball.
Speaker 1 (02:08:18):
Yeah, I think he might be right there, Pete. Good
activity by the defensive line.
Speaker 4 (02:08:23):
Want they're own forty one second and ten here to
start this third quarter, first drive of the third four
Stevens point Smith after that pass is eight of sixteen
in the game with a pick and a touchdown for
one hundred and seven yards ten forty six to go
here in the third man in motion is cashing, he'll
move to the right fake the handoff. Smith steps up
and he is hit and he is going to lunge
(02:08:44):
for him and he did not get back to the
line to gain. That should go down as a sack
for Abe Helsel. And now a late flag on the
play about a three yard loss? Is this a holder?
Is this like a horse collar, face mask, something like that?
I wonder.
Speaker 1 (02:09:03):
Head referee Chris Gibbs today's stats talking. I think they're
going to bing embassy if he wants a third and
thirteen or a second and much longer than that. Thank
you take the penalty.
Speaker 4 (02:09:17):
I think you would.
Speaker 7 (02:09:27):
So.
Speaker 4 (02:09:27):
Bran cash and called for basically a clip. It used
to be called the clip. Now it's a legal block
below the waist. And that loss was about three yards
on the place. So instead of second and what twenty five,
we're gonna take third and thirteen. It looks like are
the Blue Devils. The ball is at their own thirty
eight yard line, middle of the hash marks. They need
to get to the Stout forty nine for a first
(02:09:47):
down to the pointers. Two receivers for the right for Smith,
tight ends lined up left side on the line and
they'll roll of the right. Smith looking and he picked
up the blitz. Initially throws down field, catches me, but
it's a yard short that should get it in decent range.
Should go for it though at the fifty yard line.
Catch made. I believe that was Phillips at Phillips's case,
(02:10:11):
and that is a twelve yard game.
Speaker 1 (02:10:13):
Fourth and one, Yeah, that was a nice throll by Smith.
There was a lot of coverage there, but he put
it where only his receiver could get it. A little
short on the first down, but still very nice completion.
Speaker 4 (02:10:21):
Yeah, Stout brought some pressure there and they didn't get
home on it, and that allowed Phillips to be a
little bit more open downfield. Here comes his crowd on
fourth and one from right on the fifty. They need
to stop forty nine one receiver right, one left. Smith
in the shotgun has cash into his right. He will
look over the middle once to Okramer one side sack
(02:10:44):
turnover on downs only gown.
Speaker 1 (02:10:48):
Kramer came across on block and Smith, the quarterback had
no idea that he was coming. I don't know if
it was a missed assignment or what, but you don't
want to see your quarterback taking that kind of hit.
Speaker 4 (02:10:58):
It looked like stevens Wink got a little bit creative there.
They were trying to, you know, figure out a way.
As we look back at the replay here, looked like
they were trying to go deep on this play man Kramer,
that's a great little scene. Went middle and then went
right around the edge. I was pretty yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:11:13):
Actually the quarterback probably should have seen him come, and
with the way the formation was probably his responsibility to
be able to hit the hot route. Surprised that wasn't
a keeper or using one of the big running backs
like I use him on short.
Speaker 4 (02:11:26):
Down situation short yarded situations in this game. Ben Tolkienen
is now the running back here for Stout. Haven't seen
him in the game, and he will take the handoff
Mowen throws out left side toe tap that he's say
in bounds, No cad tapping on the edge, and he
did not stay in bounds as the headline judge in
Matt Goose and that is incomplete. It is second and tent.
Speaker 1 (02:11:47):
Boy w an acrobatic effort. The ball was pretty high
and he still caught it. Just not able to keep
that foot in bounds.
Speaker 4 (02:11:55):
And so Stout will bring in a couple of different receivers.
Aaron Williams into the game, tapping well, I'll move out right.
Evans and Williams left, tappan and Carter right. Second and
ten from the Stevens point forty four yard line, nine
twenty five left to go. Third quarter, thirty five to ten.
Stout leads shotgun formation back to pass mowing, mowing over
(02:12:15):
the middle for Carter. Did he catch it? I think
he did yeap that put the thirty eight yard line.
Very nice catch him Carter down at the turf. Pressure
from Pop. It'll be third and about medium range, you're
per Stout.
Speaker 1 (02:12:27):
Good job by Mowen protecting his receiver too by throwing
that ball low in that situation. If that balls off,
he's going to take a vicious hit. And Carter, of course,
is just five foot seven hundred and seventy five pounds.
He's your your speedster, and you do not want to
put him in harms way with some of those linebackers,
that's for sure. Three receivers right, one left. Carter is
(02:12:48):
out at the moment, Jojo James out wide right. Send
Klice to the right side of the formation. Third and
five from the thirty nine of Stevens point. Mowen fakes
like he's passing right. Then he tries to run with that.
He gets nothing right back to the line of scrimmage.
Nothing else.
Speaker 4 (02:13:04):
I'm the quarterback keeper that has the feeling of a
play that you're maybe if you don't get all of it,
you're going for it anyway, and I feel like they're
probably doing that here.
Speaker 1 (02:13:12):
I think you're right, Pete. They would have liked to
get a couple more yards out of that. You're still
a Harry managable fourth.
Speaker 4 (02:13:18):
Fourth and five. Need the thirty four yard line here
for stout, the Stevens point thirty four yard line, eight
ten left to play. You're in this third quarter stout
thirty five and now looks like a pooch punt potentially
coming here from mowing. Yeah, he will pooch it near side.
It'll take a stout bounce inside the ten, keep rolling
(02:13:39):
down to the six yard line. Good punt thirty three
yards there for Adam Moan on the pooch punt, and
they play a little field.
Speaker 1 (02:13:45):
Position game, which why wouldn't you when you're up by
twenty five. Yeah, that's a great coaching moves there. And
you know one thing is you don't have to worry
about return when you do something like that. There was
no one back there for point, and now you give
your defense, who's been playing quite well. They get a
field to defend, a.
Speaker 4 (02:14:02):
Long way to go here for Stevens point back of
their own six thirty five to ten stunt with the
leagues down with two hundred and ninety nine yards offense
pointers with one hundred and eighty six, and it will
be Smith back out here for Stevens point. They're gonna
go with that double wing formation. Tailback is Mills. He
sends a man in motion that's cash and fakes a handoff, goes.
Speaker 5 (02:14:25):
Back to pass. He is hitting the end zone. He
throws almost.
Speaker 4 (02:14:28):
Intercepted by the lineman. They're in Jacob Didel yeah, it's incomplete.
The white hat the referee. He was pointing at a
running back, so there was a receiver.
Speaker 1 (02:14:38):
Otherwise it would have been intentional grounded in the end zone,
which would be a safety. But a nice job there
by Smith getting rid of the ball.
Speaker 4 (02:14:44):
Dedel was his helmet in his hands, and he's thinking,
that's probably that might be the only chance in my
whole college career, not only to get a pick, but
to get a touchdown as well. He was thinking pick six.
Speaker 1 (02:14:55):
It was close.
Speaker 4 (02:14:57):
One receiver left, one right. Again, this is Smith and
the shotgun. Now he's got Cash into his left second
and ten sends a man in motion right to left
across the formation. Pardon me, that was you know, hand
it off to Cash in right side, five to the
ten dragging tacklers up near the thirteen yard line. About
a seven yard game. Good run to the right side
(02:15:18):
for Cashing to kind of get out of the shadow
of your own end zone. And now it'll be.
Speaker 1 (02:15:23):
Fall a big third down here for Stout. You know,
they have all the momentum right now, and this would
really be a big stop. Way too deep in Stevens
Point territory to go for a fourth down.
Speaker 4 (02:15:34):
I don't think Dan Campbell would go for it.
Speaker 1 (02:15:35):
In that situation. Well, the Detroit Lions, they go far
more than anybody in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (02:15:41):
But this would be a it would be a gutsy,
crazy or seven to fifteen left to play, third quarter
stout thirty five stevens point ten, third and three from
their own thirteen yard line. One receiver left, one right
man in motion there across his phillips. It's gonna be
a run to the right side cash and he's churning.
Speaker 5 (02:15:57):
Oh, he got stopped.
Speaker 4 (02:15:58):
Stop right at the fifteen yard line. He's gonna be
a yard short. Great job coming in to make the stop.
And I think that was Goodman who came into Austin
Goodman who kind of made the last initial push back
where it'll be fourth and short and they're gonna have
to funt.
Speaker 1 (02:16:12):
You're right, Oh, it's got to be so attempting the
goal for it. The thing is, if you don't make it,
the game.
Speaker 4 (02:16:16):
Is all over. Which you know it is so funny, Joe,
because you know, ten years ago, no one's considering going
for it in this situation. But things have changed quite
a bit. Even think about it this deep in your
own your own territory.
Speaker 1 (02:16:27):
Save of metrics.
Speaker 4 (02:16:27):
Right, yeah, that's exactly right. Fourth and inches here, balls
just pass the fifteen. They need the sixteen for a
first down, but they are in the punt formation. Stroud
standing in his own two, Carter back at his own
forty two. Again a low line drive kick. Carter will
come up and field it at the forty two to
the forty five, breaks a tackle and then gets taken
down to forty eight. He stopped the ball from going
any further, picked up eight yards or five yards, excuse me,
(02:16:49):
and brings it to the forty eight yard line.
Speaker 1 (02:16:51):
And it's gonna be a good field position for stop.
I know I already said in the first half. But
again Carter fields that ball, and he fields it in traffic,
and it is it's a it's a ten or fifteen
yard difference. Great job.
Speaker 4 (02:17:02):
This really has to do it. It's just a low
line drive kicks. You just it puts you in that
situation where you just don't know what to do. Right
as a returner, you go, do I do anything with this?
Do I let it go? I don't want to muffet,
I don't want to, you know, give the ball back
up and now He made a good quick.
Speaker 1 (02:17:15):
Decision there, very sure handed.
Speaker 4 (02:17:17):
Chandler Ross is the tailback here with Mowen Vall middle
hash Mark owned forty eight yard line left or right.
They go six point fifteen left to play here in
the third quarter stout thirty five, Stevens point ten. It
is a hand off to Ross right up the gut
bounces left side of the ball. It's out and it's
scooped up and at the forty eight yard line. Stevens
point has it.
Speaker 1 (02:17:36):
It looked like Ross was gonna get it after the
initial fumble. He kind of had in his hands again,
but just not able to tuck it first. Big mistake
by Stellt today.
Speaker 4 (02:17:46):
Looks like RJ. Minor is the one who came up
with that bumble recovery And yeah, you're right. I mean
he had looked like he had the recovery. Is we
take a look back at the replay and then yeah,
just coughed it up a second time. See you got
the initial hit on him over there, try to force
that fumble. It looked like so fifty nine. It might
(02:18:08):
have been forty nine. You had tannem roadtech who stopped him.
But nonetheless it's Stevens point. They've got it at their
own forty seven here, so ends up flipping the field.
It's going to be a run to the left side
and a good run here across the fifty up into
south territory to the forty eight yard line. The keeper
on the run for cash and they went wildcat formation there.
(02:18:29):
And it's second and five here for Stevens point.
Speaker 1 (02:18:31):
So that's a good example. Why when you're Steven's point,
you pumped the ball deepen your own I mean, you
give yourself a chance, whereas if you run a fake
punt or go for it on fourth down, deepen your
own territory. Essentially, the game's over.
Speaker 4 (02:18:44):
The ball to sout forty eight yard line, second and
five here in the third quarter for Stevens point. One
receiver out to the left again. They go with that
wing formation again. Send him ant of motion that's cashing
from right to left on an option play. They'll pitch
it out to him. He gets it at the fifty
to the forty five and he stripped up of bounds.
He should have a first down at least, he's pretty
darn close. Dustin Goodman forcing him out forty two yard line. Yeah,
(02:19:06):
picked up six hits the first down for Stevens point.
Speaker 1 (02:19:08):
Nice little option play here. He's not easy a right
handed quarterback running the option to the left side. Got
to use your left hand to flip that ball. But
real nice job by Smith yea with Cash and speed.
Speaker 4 (02:19:17):
You know, they put him in motion around the edge,
and it's one of those where if you don't pitch
it right away, you almost get into that forward pass
situation if you're past the line. It's a as you said,
it's a there's a lot of things that got to
go right on a play like that.
Speaker 1 (02:19:28):
It does seem like the quarterbacks getting probably more depth
than he needs to run that option.
Speaker 4 (02:19:32):
The one receiver left went out to the right here
for Stevens point. We check goes in motion out on
the right side, fake the handoff to Cash and they
look toward. We check over the middle. He's not there.
They throw it again. Oh what a catch made at
the thirty yard line. It was thrown behind Phillips and
he somehow came up with it down to the thirty,
had to reach behind Ellis put a hit on him,
and it's a first down here for Stevens point.
Speaker 1 (02:19:52):
Yeah, that was a heck of a catch, and I
think two or three guys are coming up a little
bit ginger on that one.
Speaker 4 (02:19:58):
There was a lot of contact. It's a dangerous throw. Yeah,
you put your your receiver in a real bad spot.
Dawson Goodman was there as well, But yeah, Ellis was
trying to go for a pick, right, You're just you're
you're trying to hawk to the ball basically. And yeah,
that's a tough, tough throw and a good catch by Phillips.
First and ten from the south thirty yard line, thirty
(02:20:19):
five to ten. Stout with the lead, send a man
of motion left to right, goes we check and now
back to passes. Smith looks over the middle, looks top
a jump ball put up there, and it is incomplete.
Dawson Goodman came in and broke that one up on
the play for Phillips over the top party not Phillips,
Woollersheim rather, and it's incomplete. And if not for Goodman,
(02:20:39):
he might have come down with that ball inside the
five yard line.
Speaker 1 (02:20:42):
Yeah, again, a lot of contact there. Steven's point, you know,
kind of pressing the issue a little bit, taking some chances.
But boy Smith has put a couple of really good
passes out there.
Speaker 4 (02:20:51):
Now Smith ten of twenty now the touchdown and a
pick one hundred and thirty yards through the air, two
hundred eighteen yards of offense for Stevens points. Second ten
from the thirty yard line. Two receivers, left, one right,
shotgun formation. Smith looking left the entire way, throws too high.
Good coverage you on field from Gavin Goodman as he
was trying on the near sideline or in the near
hash mark, I should say, even complete intended for Schwefel.
(02:21:17):
Third and ten. I'm gonna get my eyes checked after
this game, Joe, after all these gold numbers here trying
to trying to break everybody down. Four minutes left to go,
third quarter, Good time, Good time to visit the eye
doctor again. Third and ten, two receivers.
Speaker 1 (02:21:34):
What's the eye doctor?
Speaker 7 (02:21:35):
What is that?
Speaker 1 (02:21:36):
Right?
Speaker 4 (02:21:37):
Smith in the shotgun formation, cashing to his left. Third
and ten, need the twenty He'll roll to his left. Yeah,
look like there could have been a hold on the edge,
you know, call catch made downfield right at the twenty
yard line. It's gonna be really close. Dawson Goodman making
the tackle there. He was on wheat check, I believe
or was that cash and who is out rolling out
and they get him right to the it is wheat
(02:21:58):
check get him right to the twenty yard line. Ten
yard game which certainly looked like Michael Reynolds was held
around the edge on that play.
Speaker 1 (02:22:05):
The officials are letting him play on the offensive line there.
I saw the whole two peede and that's two or
three now we've seen today that have not been played.
Speaker 4 (02:22:12):
Three thirty seven left to play in the third quarterclock
ticking thirty five to ten. Stout leads Smith calling out
to play the four receivers over on the right side.
We've seen this formation a few times. Cassion is his
tail back. Six seconds left to take the snap four
three two. He'll take it with one back to pass
Smith looking over the middle of nothing there, he's gonna
step up and run, moves right fifteen to ten to
(02:22:33):
the five and he's taken down at the four yard line.
Big hole opening up with that big four receiver set
for him to run with, and he'll take it all
the way to the four yard line first goal.
Speaker 1 (02:22:44):
Stevens point, they're not quitting. Nice offense of possession for them.
Speaker 4 (02:22:48):
Man, certainly or not really nice play there and we'll
take his rush yards there for Smith up only had
netted one after he's been sacked three times in this game,
and not after that run, he'll be up into the
twenty plus range. One receiver left, one right, first and
goal from the four yard line. It is the wildcat formation.
(02:23:10):
Cash and is a tailback, sends a man in motion.
He's gonna run it himself as Cash into the right
breaks a tackle that is hit by Schneider inside the
five down near the two yard line, about a two
yard game as he turns it to the right side,
second and goal.
Speaker 7 (02:23:25):
Smith.
Speaker 1 (02:23:26):
Each of these plays keeps that clock running. And I
know it's a little bit too early to start thinking
about clock management, but it does make a difference, especially
when there's a twenty five point deficit.
Speaker 4 (02:23:34):
Two fifteen to go third quarterstout thirty five Stevens point ten,
second and goal from the two yard line.
Speaker 1 (02:23:41):
Wonderful'll see that wildcat formation again.
Speaker 4 (02:23:43):
They're gonna break the huddle. Interestingly, here the center in
uh Armanderazzari up to the line. I'll go with the
inverted double wings situation. Here Smith the handoff right up
the gut. Cashing gonna churn it, but I don't think
he got there. In fact, maybe right back to the
initial line of scrimmage and it will be third and two,
third and goal from the two. Rather is down at
(02:24:04):
the bottom at blank doing a nice job getting down
low and making a stop.
Speaker 1 (02:24:08):
This doesn't be an extra minute or two of game time, right,
nice stand here by the bludel.
Speaker 7 (02:24:12):
Stevens.
Speaker 4 (02:24:13):
You're up twenty five. You'll you'll take rolling that clock
as much as possible. It's late in the game. Lights
are on here at Donadon to Williams Stadium in an
overclass cast, cloudy, fifty degree day.
Speaker 1 (02:24:26):
It is a nice crowd here for homecoming.
Speaker 4 (02:24:28):
Cashing in the shotgun again in the Wildcat sends a
man in motion right to left. He's gonna run it
right up the middle, and again another one looked like
Bourne's was held, but they will not call it. He
is into the end zone, touchdown, Stevens point thirty five sixteen.
Stout leads with one to twelve to go here in
the third.
Speaker 1 (02:24:46):
Yeah, a nice job by the offensive line there for
Stevens points.
Speaker 4 (02:24:51):
Yeah, Bourn's right up the gut. You take a look
back at that man. He got kind of taken down
as he was trying to make the initial penetration and
stop cashing. But he'll take in for the score.
Speaker 1 (02:25:01):
I'm pretty sure that was number sixty five Oscars and
mora six eighty six pound junior who had the key
block on that touchdown.
Speaker 4 (02:25:10):
And they will break the huddle. Looks like they're going
to go for two here. They moved the ball to
the near hash mark go for it from the three
yard line in college football. And now Smith is going
to go into the shot and they're going to go
back to that four receiver, No. Three receivers set.
Speaker 1 (02:25:24):
To the right playclock getting down there.
Speaker 4 (02:25:26):
I had two seconds left. He's gonna roll right, looking
toward the end zone. Nothing there yet. Now throws it
back over the middle. It is intercepted here by Kramer.
He can return this, he said. The fifteen needs to
make a move, and he does down the near sideline.
Can you do it? And it's Bramer hirdling a defender
and he's taking down at the fifty yard line. Framer
with the interception on the two point conversion. He's made
(02:25:46):
some big plays. Say hey, that's another big one there
for the Blue Devils. Thirty five to sixteens out with
the league one twelve left to go third quarter. We'll
come back right after this here on the WIEC Sports Network.

between the passion the numbers on the far side, makes
a nice move thirty. He will cut it up at
the forty. He has one touchdown return already this season,
and he will take it across the fifty up to
the Stevens point forty eight yard line. A great return
for Jojo James, who averages on the season right around
(02:27:18):
the thirty yard mark per return.
Speaker 1 (02:27:20):
There was a great block as a pancake block by
number one. I'm not sure which number one on the
probably Hogan over there, oh man, did he make a
block on that return?
Speaker 4 (02:27:29):
Aj Hogan backup corner on that special team's unit, making
a nice open there for Jojo James. He had a
touchdown return earlier this season, and he will be a
ninety for his second one now stout in good shape
into the wind here in this third quarter. One on
three left to play in the third. They only likely
only need to run really two more plays before they
(02:27:50):
can take it to the fourth and it will be
mcdowll on a run right up the middle to the
forty five. He gets out of a tackle, makes a
nice move at the forty. He's got first down yardage,
gets a push from Andrew even up across the thirty
five and falls down up near the thirty three yard line.
What a run there, Persia McDowell. As he gets to
the thirty three.
Speaker 1 (02:28:08):
Of Stevens Point. There is a defensive.
Speaker 4 (02:28:10):
Lineman down for Stevens Point behind the play. Fifty one
seconds reign in the third quarter, and we'll take a
quick time out. See about that injured player in the
game box in front of my rown, go through the
procedures of what to set the clock to quickly to
his feet. There that's Peyton Schwan, the defensive end who
(02:28:32):
was down.
Speaker 1 (02:28:35):
I think not fifty eight.
Speaker 4 (02:28:38):
Ooh, yellow numbers. I'll slop complain.
Speaker 1 (02:28:40):
Hard to tell. You know, Stone had that fumble in
the last possession. Stevens Point took advantage of it. At
this point in the game with this lead. Really, if
you just hold on to the ball, you know, keep
doing what you're doing, you're gonna be just fine. But
can't afford another turnover.
Speaker 4 (02:28:56):
Yeah, great run for McDowell to move the chains already
to the thirty three of Stevens Point. They'll line the
clock here forty seven, forty six. They'll have to snap
at one more time for sure before the end of
the quarter. I'm one in the shotgun with McDowell to
his left. Now move to his rights. He will take
the hand off, looking to go up the middle. He
waits patient and now gets tackled at the thirty one
(02:29:17):
yard line. A two yard game. Joe Barron's in a
nice job staying home to make the stop. Second and
eight will likely be the first play of the fourth quarter.
Is Stout's gonna let this tick down? And I doubt
Stevens point is gonna do anything to stop it. Indeed,
it will be so. Second and eight will be the
call for Stout coming up to start the fourth quarter.
It's Stout thirty five Stevens point sixteen. We'll have the

Welcome back you in heren a UW Stout de Dona
Noda Williams Stadium, thirty five sixteen the league for Stout
second and ain't coming up from the Stevens Point thirty
one yard line, he cannotes to Josadowski with you. Stout
has three hundred and twenty three yards of offense with
Stevens Points hung in this one, two hundred and forty
eight yards of offense, including one hundred and eight yards rushing.
I think that's been the impressive thing for me, Joe,
is that Stevens Points has been able to run as
(02:30:46):
well as they have against Stout, who's usually a pretty
pretty strong rush defense.
Speaker 1 (02:30:51):
This season, Yeah, so far Stevens Point, they're they're showing
some good things, just not enough.
Speaker 4 (02:30:58):
They Adam Mowen and the pistil He's got McDowell behind him.
And two receivers out to the right. Since Carter, in
a little bit of motion, fakes the handoff, he looks
over the middle, wants to launch it for the end
zone for Evans back corner. He comes down with it,
but he's out of bounds. What is a flag on
the play as well? It is what a catch, but
he was a good yard or two out of the
back of the end zone. Two flags on the players,
(02:31:20):
one at the thirty year side. There's one down field
at about the twenty two yard line. So let's hear
the call ellisfore.
Speaker 7 (02:31:27):
Receivers john field offense.
Speaker 1 (02:31:29):
There were sixty three yard.
Speaker 4 (02:31:31):
Penny all right, so ineligible man down field, So it
wouldn't have mattered anyway. And of course it didn't matter
because Evans came down out of bounds. But still it
shows you just how good of a receival.
Speaker 1 (02:31:43):
Athletic is he. So was that an RPL run pass option?
Why would a lineman be down field on That is
a great.
Speaker 4 (02:31:49):
Question there, And I mean unless he thought that Mohen
was keeping it and running with it. Yeah, that's a
that's a tough one there. For Stalt moves him back
five yards to take the penalty. Instead of third and eight,
it's going to be second and third from the Stevens
point thirty six. McDowell the tailback and again another repass
option is going to keep it himself, mowing dancing left
side of the thirty five spins at the thirty. He's
(02:32:10):
still gonna fall forward up near the twenty nine, maybe
the twenty eight on a seven eight yard game there
for Adam Mowen, and that makes it third and much
more manageable here.
Speaker 7 (02:32:19):
For the blue double or the apploids.
Speaker 4 (02:32:23):
Could play from Adam Mowen and now he will not
have a tailback in there. And they're going with the
five receivers set here is Stout on third and seven.
Indeed they are Evans is out wide right along with
Williams and Carter tapping and James to the left. Empty
(02:32:44):
backfield here Stevens point. Looks like they're gonna bring four
third and seven from the twenty nine. They bring a
four man rush. Mowen scans and he's wrapped up on
the sack back in the forty yard line. The extra
supplex there as well from Brody over Beck Moen down
we'll see. I think that likely takes Stout out a
field goal range fourth and about fifteen sixteen here and
(02:33:09):
fourth and fifteen will be the case. And yeah, Jackman
of course serving as a punter and the kicker today,
but he is in the punt formation as he comes out.
Speaker 1 (02:33:17):
Mullen went down pretty hard on his left shoulder, but
looks like he's okay.
Speaker 4 (02:33:22):
Well thirty eight Jackman has the leg to kick at
fifty five yards. The problem is you're only up nineteen
right now, and you know you miss it. You give
Stevens point really good field position and there's really no.
Speaker 1 (02:33:32):
Need to do that. No, this is the right move
and a whistling now.
Speaker 4 (02:33:36):
I think Clay Birmingham wants to talk about something here,
maybe about the formation. He wants to talk about if
you want to go for it, if you you know
what exactly you want to do. I don't know why
why you wouldn't boots not like you did last time,
or just take the penalty. Yeah, if you're gonna punt anyway, right,
they'll take the time out. Thirty five sixteen stout with
the league.
Speaker 13 (02:33:54):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (02:33:56):
You know, Joe, I know you watch a lot of
high school football, obviously, you know, calling the games a
check ober through the video stream and whatnot. But as
you say, I mean as you watch it. You watch
play of college football in the NFL as well, but
just in person, right, I mean, it's kind of fun
to see, you know, these guys at this level. The athleticism,
the as you said, height of kicks, just stuff like
that is really fun to watch.
Speaker 1 (02:34:15):
It really is. And I'm super impressed with Stellton, you know,
whether you're talking about the speed, the athleticism. Mowen is
a quarterback, you know, he's just terrific and really throws
a nice ball. And the coaching is just is so
well done. Coach Birmingham, his staff, they really do a
nice job.
Speaker 4 (02:34:29):
And you were mentioning to me before the game. You
saw Adam Mowen play at Lake Mills against Menomine years ago,
and even then you could kind of tell that he
had some of that prowess that could get him to
this level football.
Speaker 1 (02:34:39):
For sure. You could tell right away he was going
to be a college quarterback, not only his size and strength,
but just his throwing ability.
Speaker 4 (02:34:44):
Bad snap here and Jackman is unable to get it,
and this one's going to be falling on by Stevens
point back at the Stout forty four yard line, falling
on by Cole Schwefel coming in a bad snap to Jackman,
and it's gonna be scooped up by Stevens. Point. Boy,
you talk about momentum from earlier momentum all in favor
(02:35:07):
of the Pointers. Right now they are feeling it out there.
Speaker 1 (02:35:09):
Well, remember previews not out there today, dealing with some
sort of injury and Jackman not the normal punter. It
was a high snap. It was a tough snap to get.
He might have jumped a little bit too early, didn't
quite high point the ball. But that's a lot to
ask of your backup hunter.
Speaker 4 (02:35:22):
Yeah, it really is third first intent from the Stout
forty four thirteen to fifteen to go thirty five to
sixteen Stout with the lead. It's an option play. It's
a big hit put on Charlie Smith by Dawson Goodman
coming through no game running out to the left pitch
off denying the pitch as well. It'll be second intent
from the forty four on the far hatch.
Speaker 1 (02:35:46):
Well, Steven's point has taken advantage of the Stout turnovers.
I'm sure right now they're thinking they get this one
in there.
Speaker 4 (02:35:52):
They still have a chance a Stout's ranked twenty fourth
in the D three football dot Com poll. This is
one of those where I don't know voters will do
much if wins, but but doesn't win by much. You're
kind of curious how they'll they'll view this. If Stevens
point keeps hanging in. Here comes the blitz. Smith is
going to be hit from behind and sacked. Needed to
get rid of the ball and he didn't, and a
big sack put on there by the Blue Devils getting
(02:36:14):
into the backfield and taking him down. Owen it was
Owen abler who was there. No Shower was there to
make the stop. Yeah, Shower he came across and play
the defense. They they really responded here there's a penalty
flag where all right at the spot that the sack happened.
Interesting they're pointing that this is on Stout.
Speaker 1 (02:36:34):
Let's hear the call.
Speaker 29 (02:36:38):
And that's very.
Speaker 1 (02:36:43):
Boy. I didn't see that.
Speaker 4 (02:36:44):
We walker byral Is called for unnecessary roughness. Did he
spike him or something after he went down? I wonder.
Speaker 1 (02:36:50):
I don't know he's gonna come out and talk it
over with his coach. Yeah, he might have got on
there a little late.
Speaker 4 (02:36:56):
Now the ball is gonna get moved up. They said
it was after the play, so it's from the end
of the run. I'll move it up to the Stout
thirty nine yard line. It is an automatic first down
in college football.
Speaker 1 (02:37:06):
Yeah, that's a big momentum shift.
Speaker 4 (02:37:08):
Indeed, it is Stout shifting on defense. Here Smith in
the pistol formation sends a man in motion, hands it
off left side thirty five to the thirty still turning
down to the twenty nine. Maybe the twenty eight yard
line went to the backup running back, Reid Smith, the senior,
and he's got himself an eleven yard game in a
first down. Boy, you talk about momentum, Stout had shifted it.
(02:37:30):
I mean we've we've felt like two or three momentum shifts. Yeah,
just in this one drive and it's right back with
Stevens point eleven, forty five left to play, fourth quarter,
Stout thirty five, Stevens point sixteen.
Speaker 1 (02:37:43):
Well, pretty much all the guys in the field were
you know, some of the best guys in their high
school teams, you know, all conference and such, and the
difference is not that big even though the score right now,
I was a little upsided.
Speaker 4 (02:37:53):
Hand off up the gut and nothing doing. Matt Blank
meets the running back right where he was at. That
was passion, I believe, no, pardon me, that was Smith again,
Reid Smith. It'll be a loss of tube back to
the thirty yard line.
Speaker 1 (02:38:07):
So execution is important. And tell you the defense. They've
had some tackle for losses here, some nice negative plays.
Speaker 4 (02:38:13):
Definitely have They can get through that offensive line. But man,
this Stevens Point Coach Birmingham talked about. You said it
might be only three in conference, but this is an
improved team from last year. We got to be ready
for them, and you can tell why they are improved.
Smith back to pass Rose right. It is caught across
at twenty five to the twenty three. Davin Goodman makes
the immediate hit and nothing extra here. You felt like
(02:38:35):
another flag was coming. Austin Phillips makes the catch. They'll
give four progress twenty three. That is a seven yard game.
Third and five, Well, this is a big play. You
got to think that this is four down territory for
Steven's Point. With the score of the way it is,
they're not going to settle for a field goal, so
they'll have two shots at it. Lockhey's the blue Devil's
(02:38:56):
friend right now. As you said earlier, a lot of
time ticking down ten twenty five to play, fourth quarter,
thirty five sixteen stout. Two receivers left, two right here
for it is Cashing, cashing in the wildcat formation. He
sends Lynch in motion, going to take himself running left.
He's got the first down across the twenty and he
is near the fifteen yard line. He got pushed backwards,
(02:39:18):
but they're going to give him forward progress up to
the fourteen yard line. That is a big time run
and a first down there. They just got Cash and
can get it on his own for five yards away.
That's a pretty confident play and sure he's sure paid
off the coaches on that play.
Speaker 1 (02:39:32):
He had that offensive line. From Steven's point, they're getting
just enough done. And you talked about it, Pete. You
know this running game from point you know they've done
a pretty good job with it.
Speaker 4 (02:39:40):
Yeah, not bad. Nine two left to play in the
fourth clock tickings stout thirty five Stevens points sixteen. Another
red zone opportunity. Two receivers so the right, two to
the left, and again Cash is in that formation. He
hands it off to Smith running to the ten, and
he's spun down by kif Meyer inside the ten at
(02:40:01):
the seven yard line, an eight yard gain. And this
is the wildcat formation in Stout not doing much to
stop it at the moment.
Speaker 1 (02:40:09):
That might have actually been a forward pass the way
that he lost the ball forward.
Speaker 4 (02:40:13):
So yeah, put cashing on the on the pass sheet
for sure.
Speaker 1 (02:40:18):
Anybody have a PPR fantasy team?
Speaker 4 (02:40:21):
I love those, don't you?
Speaker 1 (02:40:22):
Oh you bet?
Speaker 4 (02:40:23):
I'm the seven yard line. That makes it second in
two or under nine minutes left to play here in
the forest out thirty five Stevens point sixteen. Back to Smith,
the quarterback cashing to his right. He will fake the
handoff on an end around. Now goes back right, ball tipped.
Oh what a big tip by Shower because they had
a wide open receiver and get you on kind of
(02:40:43):
a comeback play there, and luckily a nice job by
Shore to get there and to make that deflection. It's incomplete.
Speaker 1 (02:40:50):
Yeah, Brooks Brewers sniffed at all, but it was a
little late. It would have been a completion. I don't
think it would have been a touchdown. I think there
would have been a pretty good collision with Brooks coming fast.
But yeah, a lot of them moments him for the
quarterback not able to step into it.
Speaker 4 (02:41:01):
As much as Brooks brew wants to put a hit
on him, he's probably happy too. He didn't have to
have a little car crash there at three yard. Yeah,
that would have been violent. Two receivers left, two right.
Cash In is the quarterback here in the wildcat formation.
Sends him out in motion. That's Lynch across the formation.
He'll keep it himself, trying to bounce it out to
the left, gets hit and then he's into the end zone.
Oh they missed the tackle there. Dawson Goodman had a
(02:41:23):
chance at him. He slipped right through it. Cash's got
to run to the left. Thirty five twenty two and
don't look now, but Stevens points within thirteen points with
eight forty left to play.
Speaker 1 (02:41:34):
Yeah, down by thirteen, probably just take the extra point here.
Speaker 4 (02:41:37):
Huh Yeah, I mean two points. What puts it at eleven?
So I guess you could, because then theory touchdown two
point in a field goal, yeah, se Yeah, thirteen and
twelve probably doesn't do much for you there, but eleven
does give you that opportunity to only make it two
scores and one of them be a field goal. Yep. Yeah,
it's a start playing that math game.
Speaker 7 (02:41:56):
Now.
Speaker 4 (02:41:56):
Of course, you could have not gone for two before
and then you wouldn't be in this situation. But that's
where they're at. So under center goes Smith at that
double wing formation, fakes a pitch out to the left,
throws to the right side. It is up and d
complete good job chasing them down by Gavin Goodman on
the pass for cashing on the near side and miss
the two second time when they missed the two point
conversion thirty five twenty two, Stout leads eight forty to go.
(02:42:19):
Fourth corner will come.
Speaker 1 (02:42:20):
Back right after this.
Speaker 4 (02:42:21):

Speaker 2 (02:42:57):
This is UW Stout Football on loose Talk wm EQ.
Speaker 4 (02:43:04):
Welcome back here to UW is Stout Donanoda Williams Stadium.
A fumble from South Leeds to a ten play forty
four yard touchdown drive from UW Stephens point didn't take
four minutes and thirty five seconds off the clock.
Speaker 1 (02:43:16):
But Joe, I mean one of those were now all
of a sudden Stevens points within thirteen points and you
know a bad player too from sound on offense, a
turnover something like that, and boy, Stevens point is gonna
have a lot of belief and a lot of confidence. Yeah,
it's been a little sloppy for the Blue Devils here
in the second half, but the good news is they
played so well in the first half. They still have
(02:43:37):
some pretty good breathing room. They used to have the
offense come out here and re establish themselves.
Speaker 4 (02:43:42):
Fair catch made by al Rahlstad there in the kickoff formation.
He makes the catch at the twenty six, which means
that's exactly where the ball will stay. Smart play probably
not to risk a return and risk any kind of
weird stuff happening that way, and so Stout will take it.
They also get to move the ball in the near
hash mark first and ten here for the Blue Douvels
(02:44:02):
at the twenty six at thirty five to twenty two.
Lead for the Blue Doubles three to ZHO three in
terms of yardage for Stout two seventy seven per sevens point.
They're not far behind him. And what are we talking
about here? Officials don't like something I think they're saying.
Because of where he caught it, they have to move
the ball there. Stout doesn't get the option to move
(02:44:24):
it on the hash marks. So now we're gonna flip
the play. What is that L two to L one.
I think there's something like that that you flip the
play on and off you go.
Speaker 1 (02:44:34):
Yeah, I don't know. You're not a PS five guy.
I can tell them.
Speaker 4 (02:44:38):
You get your plane some Madden here, all right, two
receivers left, one right. Frank goes in motion right to
left on the far hash from the twenty six yard line.
Mowe in the shotgun, looks right now, rolls left, and
he throws left side. Hughes the tailback out of the backfield,
makes a catch across the thirty up near the thirty one.
He'll take about five yards on the mark. I'm about
six yards on the play. Chase Hu's a good rice back.
(02:45:00):
That's his twelfth perception of the season this year for
eighty six yards on the year.
Speaker 1 (02:45:07):
Such great blocking up front and Adam on and had
so much time he could set up then roll out
to the left. That's a slow developing play. You can't
do that if you don't have a good offensive line.
Speaker 4 (02:45:15):
It has been a big point emphasis the two games
they've lost against Wartburg and Whitewater. I mean, three and
four man rushes were getting home and they said, we
got to stop that. That's got to end right now
if we want to have a shot in the wac
Mohen fakes a hand offf to mcdal, throws it up
right side. Carter makes a catch across the thirty thirty five,
made a move, got down to the thirty nine yard line.
Seven yard gained, first down, Blue Devils a nice pop
(02:45:36):
platte pass, and that's a little bit of the old
West Coast offense, just throwing it out there and making
those quick plays.
Speaker 1 (02:45:42):
There's quick hits. It's almost an extension on the running game.
And it makes us so hard on the defense because
you stretch them horizontally like that, you know they're worried
about to run up the middle. And then if you
can get it to your fast receivers on the outside,
Adam Moan so quick to get it out. Throw such
a nice Chris ball and the receivers very quick and talented.
Speaker 4 (02:46:00):
Send those two quick receivers and talented receivers to the left,
Evans and Carter. Two tight end formation here, one right,
one left. Our hash Mark McDonnell is the running back
and they will pardon me Hughes rather as the running back.
They'll give it to him and he doesn't have much
got hit at the line, maybe gets a yard to
the right side of the forty yard line, hitting immediately
on the play by overpack stopped and Rotech was there
(02:46:24):
as well, and it's a second and nine here for
stout from their own forty under seven and cuts. I
think content to run a little bit of clock here
up thirty five twenty two. Two receivers go left, same formation.
We've seen two tight ends again, one right, one left.
They're gonna send motion out and James out to the
(02:46:44):
left side, and you've got three speedsters on that left side.
Mowen gonna look toward him as he rolls that way,
look for James now wants to launch it. He'll throw
to Carter incomplete kind of in between James and Carter there.
He wanted the mid route there, the kind of out
route from Carter, and he couldn't find if it's third
and nine.
Speaker 1 (02:46:59):
Had the receivers got a little bunched up there, you'd
like to have a little more separation, just kind of
opens it up for mulling bigger windows. But when they're
close together like that, there's also defenders that are close.
I think there was a little miscommunication on those routes.
Speaker 4 (02:47:14):
The feeling like again, the crowd kind of a little
low in the crowd here as well. Everybody's just kind
of waiting around to see what's gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (02:47:20):
Right stout.
Speaker 4 (02:47:22):
I think gotta be a little bit careful here. It's
a big play. Third and nine from their own forty
one receiver left, two to the right, six point thirty
seven left to go here in the fourth, Carter moves
in motion right to left, mowing back. The passer comes
the Blitz throws it quickly at his incomplete boy, great
job jumping the route out there by Anderson. A whistle
though back on the play, I wonder if there was
(02:47:42):
a late hit on Adam Mowen or a hold. I
think this is going on Stevens point. It was great
defense by Anderson, but this could be a first down
for the Blue Devils.
Speaker 1 (02:47:54):
Yeah, tapping first out almost turned into the defender on
that one to make sure it wasn't gonna be intercepted.
Speaker 4 (02:48:00):
Talking about it here a six thirty three left to
play in the fourth stout thirty five Stevens point twenty two.
They are talking to the point coaches, No they're not.
They're moving this forward.
Speaker 1 (02:48:10):
I think.
Speaker 5 (02:48:12):
Welcome to pass.
Speaker 1 (02:48:15):
That's a big penalty fall. Oh wow, review one first
down forty nine, it's just qualified and made.
Speaker 7 (02:48:24):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (02:48:24):
Tandem Rotech just got called for targeting in addition to
the late hit, and again it might not have been
a late hit, but it was a hit to the
helmet and in Division III football, they do not review
those plays now because we're in the second half, until
after the game. So it's one of those where again
the video replay will not be reviewed till afterward. And
(02:48:45):
that is a massive call and I'd imagine Stevens Point
coaching staff is going pretty nuts over there on the sideline.
Speaker 1 (02:48:51):
Yeah, I'm moronicks out of the game too because of
the targeting. So not only is it a big penalty,
automatic first down in fifteen yards, just lost one of
their better defensive line. Yeah behind the play, just not
sure how much contact was made.
Speaker 7 (02:49:04):
Had the cargetting will be as qualified thank you remain
in the game.
Speaker 4 (02:49:07):
Wait, I think they changed the number. Who did they
say it on? Now they're gonna put some rotexts gonna
come back.
Speaker 1 (02:49:14):
Into the game.
Speaker 4 (02:49:15):
I think they said something with a six on the
end end of it, but I couldn't tell you who
it was because the microphone cut out.
Speaker 1 (02:49:22):
We can't see the numbers anyway. Yeah, no kidding.
Speaker 4 (02:49:25):
Receivers left far hash Mark Adam mo Owen in the
shotgun formation and he will fake the handout to Ross
Rose out to Carter. Catch made forty five, got the
blocker of Evans to the forty, churning the legs down
to the thirty eight yard line and a good run there.
It gets about seven yards second and three.
Speaker 1 (02:49:45):
The mistakes in the second half really have been on
the side of Stoll, some penalties, turnovers, but that was
a really big mistake from point. Yeah, you know, in
a thirteen point deficit six minutes to goal, it was
probably a tough hill to climb anyway.
Speaker 4 (02:49:58):
But they I mean they were, I mean they got
their their offense is coming back out. Yeah, that was
funt formation all day after that great breakup from Anderson.
Speaker 1 (02:50:08):
But again, you know, still put themselves in this position
where one mistake is almost a dagger.
Speaker 4 (02:50:13):
James moves out to the right side from mowing in
the shotgun empty backfield, looks right, throws it out to James, catch,
made it the forty one, got blockers to thirty five.
They're gonna call a penalty on Evans despite James going
all the way to the end zone. They're gonna say
stepped out of bounds at the fifteen. It's not gonna
matter because they're gonna bring this one back for an
Evans hole down on the edge.
Speaker 1 (02:50:33):
Yeah, good effort on the on the block. Just a
little bit too much.
Speaker 7 (02:50:38):
Offense.
Speaker 1 (02:50:39):
One something the crowd to See'll out run the football.
Speaker 4 (02:50:44):
They're gonna move it back from the thirty four to
the forty four because it was a whole down field.
So it's gonna make it second and about nine here
for Stout And yeah, I think running the football might
be the right call now, five thirty nine left to
play in the fourth.
Speaker 1 (02:50:58):
But this is a team again they passed. The passing
is so much in their DNA, it's hard for them
not to it. And mo One is such a good quarterback.
That really is an extension of the run game. It
really it's a pass on the score sheet, but really
it's just like running a sweep. Really.
Speaker 4 (02:51:11):
Yeah, it's a run to the edge, right, those little
pop passes, screen passes.
Speaker 1 (02:51:14):
Whatever they are, Yeah, real safe play.
Speaker 4 (02:51:16):
Two receivers to the left, and James is gonna motion
to the left side as well, mowing with the empty
backfield second to nine from the Stevens point forty four,
going to keep it himself up the gut to the
forty and he will just fall forward up to the
thirty five. He's got the first down down to the
thirty five yard line, a nine yard game, and the
Blue Devils will move the chains.
Speaker 1 (02:51:34):
Well, Coach burn games to please crowd, deal's run the
football and that's what they do.
Speaker 4 (02:51:38):
Apparently he didn't get the first down. Oh he did,
didn't They Now they're gonna move it, but it took
him a while. Yeah, what's up with that? When they
moved they put third down on the down marker, and
then they finally decided to move the chains.
Speaker 1 (02:51:50):
It's easier to move them late than it is to
move them too early and then have to reset.
Speaker 4 (02:51:54):
It's only fifteen seconds left on the play clock here.
Down to the four to forty mark of this game.
Out thirty five Stevens point twenty two first and ten
from the thirty five of Stevens point two receivers left,
one right, The handoff will go to Chase Hughes. Got
to get away from a tackler. He did twice to
the thirty five and then he kind of pushes the
pile up near the thirty yard line, still on his feet.
He's still going on the right side.
Speaker 1 (02:52:15):
Look at that.
Speaker 4 (02:52:15):
To the twenty six on nine yard game. It probably
should have been a loss of two and a great
run from Chase Hughes.
Speaker 1 (02:52:22):
Follows some nifty footwork there. And I'll tell you again
number sixty three Menominee alumni Ben Bistol, he had a
pancake block on that play.
Speaker 4 (02:52:31):
Yeah, he's been so great, six foot four to two
eighty five and typically it's your best lineman is the
man at left tackle, and he has been that guy.
Two receivers to the left here for south second and
about a yard and a half. Say need the twenty
five for a first down. Two receivers out to the left,
three forty nine to go here in the ball game going,
(02:52:53):
we'll hand it off to Ross countering to the left side.
He gets tripped up from behind. He's got the first down, however,
nice tack made by Josh Christop, but not before he
gets first down yard ine the twenty four and a
three yard ball keet.
Speaker 1 (02:53:05):
Ben Pistol's obviously a very good football player. You should
see him swing a baseball bat. Love to see it.
Speaker 4 (02:53:10):
Oh, talk about a Paul upwing Well. Ben and Kaner
are head baseball coaches right over there. Let's figure it out,
oh man, If you need to pinch hit home run.
Put the bistos on your guy.
Speaker 1 (02:53:19):
Oh man, he can swing.
Speaker 4 (02:53:21):
Furst. Luke Sadeen, the backup quarterback for Stout, part of
the Stout baseball team as well. His brother, Justin, a
great All YAC player, played for the Oakler Express in
the North Woods League as well. There's plenty of good
baseball players on this team. Three receivers left and Mowen
takes a snap. They bring pressure. He's gonna run away
from it. He's got a chance here those twenty and
(02:53:42):
he's taken down at the sixteen yard line. Another big
chunk play their eight yard game right up the middle,
and Mowen just kind of do it, doing it himself.
He's now up to eighty eight pardon me, ninety yards
rushing and a time out taken by Stevens point with
two fifty to go, and Stout up thirty five to
twenty two. So there you have it. It's Stout with
his second and short coming up. They're gonna try to
(02:54:03):
start stopping the blocker on the pointers. You're the scores
being announced. River Falls leading fifty nine twenty one over
Oah Claire, I'm gonna beat j Fall to it. Twenty
nine to nineteen. That is a win for Whitewater and
Lacrosse leads twenty eight to six over Oh gosh, it
have time put a white Water beat Platteville. So it's
a big match up there. Whitewater is probably gonna move
(02:54:25):
up but in the rankings.
Speaker 1 (02:54:26):
For that, the positive is that you don't have to
play white Water again if you're Stout, since you've.
Speaker 4 (02:54:30):
Already had gone through that gauntlet and they're gonna have
a chance again against Blattville. You're gonna have Lacrosse Platteville
and then River Falls. It should be an interesting few
games here for Stout coming up. Are you doing the
lacrosse game? I believe so, yeah, I'll be down there.
Speaker 1 (02:54:45):
It should be fun.
Speaker 27 (02:54:46):
Nice.
Speaker 8 (02:54:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:54:48):
Lacrosse Loggers broadcaster, I'm forgetting his last name, Tyler Belkie
I think is his last name. He's their color commentators.
I'm looking forward to that. We'll see him down there,
get to get to catch up a little bit and
that should be fun. We got to call some of
the playoff games together up in Bluuth, so.
Speaker 1 (02:55:08):
Should be good.
Speaker 4 (02:55:08):
Three receivers out to the right here for Stout second
and one from the sixteen yard line. Mowen again, empty
backfield and he will just keep it himself. He's gonna
run left, got blockers and he'll get the first down
and he's gonna turn down near the ten. Just a
rugby scrum there. We'll get him signed up for a
rugby team here. We're gonna start a rugby team at Stout.
Two thirty eight left to play another timeout taken by point.
(02:55:29):
That's their second. They have one left and he'll get
down to the twelve yard line on that run. First
down at the twelve here for Stout. So they had
a Mowen now at that rush. He is up to
ninety four yards rushing on sixteen attempts.
Speaker 1 (02:55:45):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (02:55:46):
Chandler Ross with eighty six yards rushing on eight attempts
and two touchdowns. Mowen has a touchdown as well. He's
also thrown for one. He's sixteen to twenty three for
one hundred and fifty five yards through the air. Only
Ben sacked once. A Ron Carter leads Away in receiving
for Stout today with eighty eight yards on eight percent
in a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (02:56:04):
As rosspin Alter since the fumble, good question, I don't
think think.
Speaker 4 (02:56:08):
He has think I've seen him tough, gumble for him.
That kind of gave Stevens Point a little bit of
life in this game. But now an opportunity here for Stout.
You got only one time out if you're Stevens Point,
the move the game clock back to two forty, so
you know, if the clock runs after this play, they'll
probably take the time out again, i'd imagine, and then
(02:56:28):
let the clock tack down to the two minute timeout
and you'd be on third down right if you don't
convert it. So Stout can't quite run out the clock yet,
but they're getting close to it at this point in
the game.
Speaker 1 (02:56:40):
So what's the homecoming plan after the game? Good question?
Speaker 4 (02:56:43):
What's the homecoming plan for you?
Speaker 1 (02:56:46):
World Series?
Speaker 4 (02:56:46):
I think, oh, there you go, like that is all.
Speaker 15 (02:56:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:56:52):
I'll take Adulton Varshow playing for them, the Marshfield native
UW Milwaukee native, the nephew of Dale Varshaw, the manager
of the Oaklare Express, Adam Mohen gets the handoff or
gets a little snap here and gets hit hard across
at ten up to the eight, and it'll be the
final timeout of Stevens Point taken after about a four
yard game second and six coming up for stout with
(02:57:14):
two point thirty three to go. It's actually two former
Express players who are playing in that World Series. Alex
Call's off the bench for la is playing in that
game as well, so that's kind of cool. Dalton had
a home run last night, so I'm all in for
the Blue Jays.
Speaker 1 (02:57:30):
Yeah. Yeah. Have you ever been up there to the SkyDome.
I'm not have you I have. It's really something, you know,
that was really one of the first stadiums where the
roof could you know, be retarcted, and I was surprised
how old it was.
Speaker 4 (02:57:42):
It's done through a lot of renovations.
Speaker 1 (02:57:43):
Yeah, yea, yeah, and I think actually since I had
been there and it got renovated again. But boy, that
place really gets rocket.
Speaker 4 (02:57:49):
I gotta dropped fifteen hundred bucks on one of those
hotel rooms that's in left field. I go, all right, no,
but I would suggest going though Charles and an interesting city,
real good baseball town. That is kind of the fun part,
you know, we get to go up Sorry, we're talking
about we're talking about baseball certain five to twenty two
years not with the lead on Stevens Point and another
time out take him with second and six coming up.
(02:58:10):
But yeah, we get to go up to thunder Bay
right with the Express every year and there, I mean,
everybody in Canada, if you're a baseball fan, you're a
Blue Jays fan, right, That's kind of how it works now.
And everybody's got Blue Jays caps on.
Speaker 1 (02:58:21):
And the Expos fans didn't migrate to Washington, and I
don't think they stayed away. Yep. Well, here we go.
Speaker 4 (02:58:27):
Three receivers out to the left here for Moa and
he sends two tight ends right empty backfield, second and
six from the eight yard line. This has the feeling
of a mow and keeper again. In fact, he will
condor wrap the middle to the five. He gets stripped
up near the four, he will be short of the
first down marker by a couple of yards. Needs to
get to the two I think for a first down,
(02:58:47):
and he's to the four. So it's third and two
for Stout to let this ball. This clock tick down
to the two minute timeout, and we'll take it along
with them here as well. Sount thirty five Stevens point
twenty two. A first down wins it, first out, A
touchdown pretty much wins it. Fir Stout as well as
they are up thirty five to twenty two.
Speaker 1 (02:59:05):
Here on the pointers, say quick break, come back, two
minute time out Here from Dona Onda Williams Stadium.
Speaker 4 (02:59:09):
You're on your home for blue double football.
Speaker 5 (02:59:14):
You'll like heaven.
Speaker 2 (02:59:16):
Congrats.
Speaker 19 (02:59:17):
You bought a new vehicle but only received one key,
and they told you you can't get it anywhere else
but at the dealer. Call Papa Lock of the Chippewa
Valley and get a new key made for way less
than at the dealership. We've got dealers level software that
can program new keys affordably and quickly. Call seven one
five five five two fifteen fifteen.
Speaker 1 (02:59:37):
When you need a Hella.
Speaker 2 (02:59:45):
This is UW. Stout Football on News Talk WM Eking program.
Speaker 4 (02:59:50):
I mean all, welcome back here into Donna Onda Williams Stadium.
Two minutes left to go, two minute time out here
in this ball game. Stout leading thirty five twenty two
on Stevens Point, Pecanots and Josadowski with you damn price
back in the studio on the radio side, Josh and
friends here on the WIAC Sports Network. Been a fun
game to bring to you. Stout was up thirty five
to ten at one point in this game. But Stevens
(03:00:12):
Point has had some good opportunities, some touchdowns here late
have made this a closer game than Stout would like.
But they've got a chance for a first down here
to end this game. Third and two from the Stevens
point four yard line. Chandler Ross is the tailback along
with Mowen. He will keep it himself mowing running right
to the end zone. Touchdown, Blue Devils one fifty five
(03:00:32):
to go and Stout is in for the score. No
flags on the play, forty one twenty two Blue doubles
leading here on the pointers.
Speaker 1 (03:00:40):
Well, taking a piece from Wayne Laravie. There's your dagger, Peete,
and it's gonna be a happy homecoming here in Menominee.
Speaker 4 (03:00:47):
It definitely is. There'll be celebrations all around town. I
am sure, celebrations for the volleyball win over Whitewater last
night and a good football performance here today. I guess
this is only This is the second to last home
game for Out this season. They've got that one against
River Falls to end the season, but they're going to
go on the road the next two weeks. As Jackman's
kick is up and through and Blue Devils lead at
(03:01:09):
forty two to twenty two here over Stevens one to go.
We're gonna keep it right here. As again we'll quickly
give you an update. Garon River Falls is doing crazy
things at Carson Park, but he'll meet sixty six to
twenty one over uw Oa Claire as they have twelve
minutes and thirty nine seconds left in that game. Twenty
nine to nineteen win for Whitewater over Platteville. So Stout
(03:01:32):
and Whitewater will both be three and one after today,
and they will be tied to top the conference with
either Lacrosse or Oshkosh. At the end of their game,
Lacrosse leting twenty eight to six, but that game at
halftime started an hour later. They're down at Roger Herrings Stadium.
It is a one o'clock start next week for Stout
down at Lacrosse. Be on the air at twelve forty
(03:01:54):
to bring that to you. You're on News Talk WMQ.
It should be a good one coming up. But again
the week after that, we're gonna see the start of
hockey season, the start of basketball season as well. So
getting to that point where you get the little overlap
from fall sports season in the winter sports season, and
that's it's a fun time. It's a busy time. I'm
sure my wife doesn't really like that time too much
(03:02:15):
because it means I'm doing a lot of games.
Speaker 1 (03:02:17):
But she might like that.
Speaker 4 (03:02:18):
Yeah, yeah, I guess get me out of the house, right,
that's a whole idea.
Speaker 1 (03:02:22):
I'd just given me a hard time. No, that's good.
Speaker 4 (03:02:23):
One fifty five left to play, and here comes to
kickoff from Jackman. It's just a knuckler that's gonna go
to the near side. It'll be scooped up at the
thirteen yard line here on the near side by Lynch
at the twenty five, and across the thirty to the
thirty one yard line, and Steven's point, we'll finally get
the ball back. Felt like Joe that Stout has had
the ball, or that their offense had been on the
(03:02:44):
field for a long time and given that defense quite
a bit of rest after how long the drive that was,
and just from a just from a normal time standpoint,
not necessarily a game clock, but with all the stoppages that.
Speaker 1 (03:02:54):
We had on that last dry yeah, you know, and
the momentum was going steepens the point wait a couple
you know, mistakes from Stell at the fumble and then
also the bad snap on the punt, and Stevens pointed
a good job taking advantage of that. But things really
normalized here in the last ten minutes.
Speaker 4 (03:03:09):
Smith takes the snap, He's gonna be sacked, Look gonna
go deep down field and look for the big play.
Hit was from Walker and I think it was Lamb
who came in there as well, helped on on the sack.
That will be a five yard loss. Second and fifteen.
They got to go quick.
Speaker 1 (03:03:25):
Yeah, good pressure from the defensive line.
Speaker 4 (03:03:27):
One twenty nine left to play. Smith rolling to his left, stops,
he pops, He throws deep. That is a chance and
it's incomplete and Goodman downfield did not play that. I
think terribly well. That was a better thrown ball. There
was an opportunity for we checked down the sideline, but
it's incomplete. Third and fifteen.
Speaker 1 (03:03:43):
Goodman did a good job though they were kind of
doing some hand fighting and instead of giving the penalty,
he just kind of trusted the situation and he was
there to make the tackle if there was a completion.
So pretty good job that last drive for Stout.
Speaker 4 (03:03:56):
Fifteen plays, seventy four yards took six minutes and forty five.
I can stop the clock exactly what you needed in
that situation. One twenty one left to play. Third and
sixteen here for Stevens points Stout forty two Stevens point
twenty two. They've got the ball with their own twenty
seven yard line, third and fifteen, sixteen or interception. Now,
I wouldn't be bad there. Smith looking over the middle,
(03:04:16):
this would be the time for it. Flings a near
side in complete late flag coming in. Cashing was on
a wheel route. And speaking of Brewer, I think they
might have got him or Ellis for a hold or
something like that.
Speaker 1 (03:04:28):
Downfield.
Speaker 4 (03:04:31):
Here's a call.
Speaker 30 (03:04:32):
There is no call on the play.
Speaker 4 (03:04:34):
Oh okay, all right. Field judge Sewn Dickinson picks up
the flag and says no foul on the play.
Speaker 1 (03:04:42):
Incidental context.
Speaker 4 (03:04:43):
Okay, I think Stout will take that. Three receivers go
out to the left. It's fourth and sixteen. They need
to get this ball up to the forty two yard lines.
So really fourth and fifteen here for Stevens point could
be the last play of the game for the pointers.
One's seventeen to go Stout by twenty. Smith back to pass.
(03:05:07):
Here comes the pressure from Saudi, rolls away from it,
off to the left, launches it downfield to the sideline.
It is in complete, almost intercepted by Opravier Regis's Carson
Tate incomplete and Stout will have a kneel down or
two to win this game. As they pick up their
fifth win of the season. They ensure they're not ensure
a winning season, but they ensure not a losing season.
(03:05:29):
Is they at worse can go five and five now
and so a big time win here today for the
Blue Devils on well, and maybe.
Speaker 1 (03:05:34):
More important when you're looking at the conference race and
the race for the conference championship, this stole team showed
they can run the ball. Yeah, and up until this week,
I guess that's probably a question mark at least in
my mind. And if they can have that dual attack
on offense. Boy, they put up forty two today and
it could have been many more.
Speaker 4 (03:05:51):
Two hundred and seventeen yards on the ground for the
Blue Devils. That'll tick down a couple of yards here
with one or two kneel downs from Adam Mohen, but
he will keep over one hundred yard marks. So one
hundred yard rushing game for the quarterback today. Eighty six
yards for Chandler Ross as well, not too shabby as
he will take one d you'll have to take one
more way to go sown. Indeed here on homecoming, one
(03:06:13):
five left to play, forty two twenty two win for
the Blue Devils. Stay tuned for our post game show.
We will have coach Birmingham up in the booth with
us as well. Looking forward to that. Two games on
the road now for the Blue Devils. It's two lacrosse
and two Platt Bill, two of the tougher places to
play in all the WIAC before they finish off the
(03:06:35):
season against River Falls. Here at Donnan Oda Williams Stadium.
They can take a snap whenever they want. Now is
the game clock is under the forty second mark.
Speaker 1 (03:06:43):
And again, Pete, you got to give Steven's point credit.
Speaker 8 (03:06:46):
Ga.
Speaker 1 (03:06:46):
You know they could have rolled over, especially the way
the game started. But they're coaches and their kids at
a real nice job little alt match today. But there
are some positive things for the Pointers, and you know
they can hold their heads high.
Speaker 4 (03:06:57):
They competed well, yeah, they hung in there and that's
for sure and made it interesting a little bit in
that fourth quarter, but at forty two twenty two win
for the Blue Devils. They improved to five and two
on the season in three and one in conference. Playing
postgame show coming up after two minutes. Forty two to
twenty two win per Stout today. We'll come back right
after this here on the WIAC Sports.
Speaker 2 (03:07:17):
Network, another game officially in the books. Get the game breakdown, highlights,
and hear from the players and coaches. The UW Stout
Blue Devils postgame is next on News Talk wm EQ.
Speaker 27 (03:07:34):
Every time I turn around, my friends at pure Talk
give me one more reason to feel good about switching.
This month, for instance, they're supporting Canines for Warriors, a
terrific organization that trains rescue dogs and then pairs them
up with combat veterans struggling with PTSD. The result, they're
saving lives on both ends of the leash. This is
(03:07:55):
why I switched to Pure Talk. I like being in
business with an American wireless company who shares my values. Yeah,
I appreciate unlimited talk text and plenty of five G
data for just twenty five bucks a month, and I
bet you will too. But I think you'll really appreciate
doing business with a company who gives back to the
men and women who volunteered to defend our country. Just
(03:08:16):
dial pound two fifty say Micro. With Puretalk's US customer
service team, you can switch in as little as ten minutes. Again,
dial pound two five zero say Micro to switch to
an American wireless company who actually stands for something.
Speaker 26 (03:08:32):
Puretalk get the right truck at the lowest price anywhere.
Right now, you can get a brand new twenty twenty
five Ford F one fifty Supercrew truck loaded over thirteen
thousand dollars below sticker you heard right over thirteen thousand
dollars be low sticker only. At O Claire Ford Lincoln Quicklane.
Speaker 25 (03:08:51):
We have over sixty new Ford f one fifties, with
more coming every week. I'm Benjamin from oh Claire Ford
Lincoln Quicklane. I can't recall if we've ever had new
Ford f one fifty Supercrew xlts loaded this low. Come
in and discover for yourself why the new Ford F

through November third only, you have a golden opportunity to
(03:09:12):

Speaker 26 (03:09:21):
At the right truck, at the right time, at the
lowest price anywhere over thirteen thousand dollars be low sticker

Lincoln Quickly.
Speaker 2 (03:09:33):
This is the UW Stout postgame show on news cop
WM EQ.
Speaker 4 (03:09:39):
Why welcome back in here at UW Stout in to Donooda,
Williams State and Pikaoos and Joe Zadowski with you as
the Blue Devils win at forty two to twenty two
over Stevens point Joe. A pretty complete win from the
Blue Devils. I know it got close at times there
forw you have seen its point kind of making that
comeback in that game again, a couple of touchdowns in
(03:10:02):
the second half, but for the most part Stout showed
off some dominance. You mentioned the rushing game being part
of that. I think for me, I'll kind of dovetail
off that a little bit. Offensive line playing a pretty
good game here today. In addition to what they did
to open up the run game, they also gave Adam
Mohen a lot of time, and the offensive line seems
like they kind of stepped up their game a little
(03:10:22):
bit today.
Speaker 1 (03:10:22):
Yeah, you know, you're in a good situation when you
can be up here and be a little critical of,
you know, a couple of mistakes, a couple penalties, couple turnovers,
but you know, to have a dominant win like this
and really not play a very good second half, that's
really saying something just about how strong your team is.
Speaker 4 (03:10:38):
It really was, And we'll wait for coach Birmingham to
come up here. I'll let you you can take that statue.
I've got the stats right in front of me. Okay,
we're good there. But Adam Owens sixteen of twenty three
in this game for one hundred and fifty five yards
and a touchdown. That's a sixty nine point six percentage
of completion percentage for him. He also rushed for one
hundred and six yards two touchdowns. Chandler Ross for eighty
six yards and two touchdowns on the ground as well.
(03:11:00):
Avon Carter had the touchdown reception of eighty eight yards
on eight catches today as well. Stout out gains stevens
point three sixty eight to two seventy two and of
those three sixty eight two thirteen of them were on
the ground, which is a very good sign for this
Blue Devil team. I would say moving forward, the time
of possession about the same. Third down efficiency was very
good from South three of seven in the game Stevens
(03:11:22):
point just six fifteen. They're also one of three on
fourth down as well. Penalties not terribly bad, five for
forty for Stout, but they have committed a lot of penalties.
It's one of the things they've been working on, and
they avoided too many penalties there. I think here today
the other side for Smith, twelve of twenty six, passing
a touchdown, an interception one hundred and forty seven yards
(03:11:43):
through the air. Cash ends up with eighty one yards
on the ground and two touchdowns. We checked the leading
receiver to receptions fifty four yards. The touchdown was caught
by Getchen, and that is how things work out here today.
A forty two twenty two win for South over Stevens point. Yeah.
I mean, you know, Joe, I think you know, as
you've watched games in the WIEC, you know that this
(03:12:04):
conference is full of really, really good teams in the
Division III level. They got six really good teams, and boy,
it's really impressive to watch when you see one of
the top ones and sou it's one of those top
six play. I mean, there's a different level and now
they're going to have to really gear up for some
really tough opponents these last three weeks.
Speaker 1 (03:12:22):
Well, the nice thing is is stowte is so balanced.
I mean, you talk about the three phases of the game, offense, defensive,
special teams, and you look at this game, all three
of those phases of the game, they really excel. Super impressive.
With the kicker, I mean, the kickoffs are just terrific.
He has a heck of a leg. I'm sure he
can make a long field though, if they need it.
And then you know, offensively a balance attack between the
(03:12:44):
rushing and passing. And then defensively, you know, not only
did they play good coverage, but they're able to rush
the quarterback. Probably gave up more rushing yards than what
they wanted to today, but part of that might be
the scheme they're using.
Speaker 4 (03:12:55):
Two yeah, one hundred and eighteen yards allowed on the
ground for Stevens point today, and that is to who
you're going against.
Speaker 1 (03:13:01):
Brice and Cash's you know, one of the better running
backs in this league.
Speaker 4 (03:13:03):
And this is a point team that I think emphasizes
the run a little bit more than a lot of
the other teams in the WIAC as well. But you're right,
I think they'll they'll clean some of that stuff up.
And now you've got a chance against the uw lacrosse team,
who it seems like Stout where it doesn't matter if
they're playing there or if they're playing here, has like
the worst luck against that you've ever seen in your life.
That's a one. You know, ball bounces the wrong way,
(03:13:25):
a fumble goes this way, an interception gets tipped in
the air and they pick it off, and they've had
some struggles against lacrosse in the last few years. But
now you got a chance, right, I mean, it's any
anybody in any sport, right when you go up against
these big teams, the teams that are highly ranked, it's
a chance for you to make some noise. And they've
got an opportunity against lacrosse team that's really good on
the road and to pick up a road win in
(03:13:46):
lacrosse and be something else. So it's gonna be a
fun one next week, that is for sure.
Speaker 1 (03:13:50):
Pretty cool scene out here in the field. Not only
the parents get a chance and friends talking to the players.
I also when I was walking in, I saw the
camera in football tea. It is so us have been
here visiting a bunch of guys wearing the blue jerseys
out there, and what a great opportunity to have that
partnership with one of the local schools.
Speaker 4 (03:14:08):
Yeah, it's great to see those kids get a chance
to come out and see it as well. We see
it on the on the basketball side as well. A
lot of kids will wear their jerseys when they come
out to watch the men's or the women's basketball team.
And I'm sure we'll have a few of those opportunities
as well.
Speaker 1 (03:14:21):
Kids from Cameron are about to raise each other. I
think let's go field turf field.
Speaker 4 (03:14:25):
I mean, that's one of those things too. And you
know there's plenty of you know, high school fields now
that there they go off, they go down to the
right side and think twenty two, no, thirty two is
gonna win it. Yeah, I mean, you see those opportunities
for these kids. And you know, I mean there's like
chin Tech Warehouserre's some other places that have field turf
fields now at that level, but not all of them do,
and so getting a chance to come to a college
stadium is kind of a cool deal for these kids.
Speaker 1 (03:14:45):
And this is a beautiful facility, it really is. And
you know, we're so fortunate and Menominy to be able
to have the high school team play here too. You
just look at you know, the safe atmosphere, the nice
grand stands, those concessions, bathrooms, everything you would want in
a nice like this. And Chad and I were talking
at the Monomine game in on Alaska last night was
the first time that Menomine played on grass since twenty twenty.
Speaker 4 (03:15:07):
Wow, that's absolutely wild. Yeah, it's so nice to have
all those facilities and everything like that. Cleve Birmingham gonna
join us here on our post game show. I assume
you know, jose at Owski, mister superintendent, So there you go,
all right, coach, Well, you know, forty two, twenty two
win for your guys. You emphasized to me before the
game that you wanted this team to run the ball more,
(03:15:28):
and you guys certainly did that. Two hundred and thirteen
yards on the ground and your quarterback at over one
hundred yards and we also saw Chandler Ross run for
just under one hundred yards as well. It was the
running game what you were hoping for, what you wanted
it to be today.
Speaker 8 (03:15:42):
Yeah, I mean after last week, we need to establish
a running game and work on it, right, So White
later stuck it to us on the run game and
something we focused on, and we know we got to
have right to win, control the clock, and you know,
as the weather gets unstable here as we go and
it gets to be more rougher weather, you need to
find a run game. So proud of our guys. M's
(03:16:03):
a tough kid. He just keeps grinding and taking shots
and keeps getting back up. So it's fun to watch
both of more.
Speaker 4 (03:16:09):
Hey, guys, threw the ball nicely in the first half
as well. Had some good moments from some of your receivers,
and we talked about it up here. Joe mentioned it, right,
you're kind of almost at West Coast style style of offense, right,
just get the ball out to your playmakers and let
them do it. They seem to make some nice plays
out there.
Speaker 8 (03:16:25):
Yeah, when they stacked the box. They blitzed us a
lot this today, so you know you have man coverat
on the outside so get out there quick, and our
receivers are decent blockers minus one holding call out there.
But so we'll make it a we'll play in space
with our guys. They're shifting and quick and you know,
it's kind of a kind of a cliche here, but
you know it wins win, right, We'll take the win.
Speaker 1 (03:16:46):
But what you saw I wasn't pretty win. Yeah, so yeah,
the first half was really impressive. One question I had
for you, coach, they had the penalty legal man downfield blocking.
Was that a run pass option or is it just
a missed assignment?
Speaker 7 (03:16:58):
I think it was more of a miss assign.
Speaker 8 (03:17:00):
Okay, yeah it was because we play action that thing
and the communication got cross there because sure for a
play action pass it was in a drop back. It
was uh yeah, it shouldn't have been a guy fifteen
years don't field.
Speaker 1 (03:17:13):
But I love the aggressiveness though.
Speaker 8 (03:17:15):
Yeah, well yeah, I usually usually don't catch it, so
you might as well try, right, right.
Speaker 4 (03:17:20):
You certainly took some shots there, and now again you
kind of turn your attention. I know you didn't want
to look past this game. A lot going on with
homecoming everything like that. But now it's like we said
three games before. I think I had the exact same
conversation with you last year when we got to the
last year games. So you've got three games, I mean,
this is it? You win all three?
Speaker 1 (03:17:35):
You know what?
Speaker 4 (03:17:36):
You take care of your business? Is that the message?
Because now it's it's a tough one. You got at
Lacrosse and at Platteville, which is a tough road stretch.
Speaker 8 (03:17:43):
Yeah, it's any place this conference is going the road
and win. It's really it's really tough. So you know,
we're gonna find a way, right, I mean, Lacrosse is good,
but you may we may have to do it a
little differently, but we'll We're gotta find a way to.
Speaker 1 (03:17:56):
Win, all right.
Speaker 4 (03:17:57):
Roger Herring Stadium gonna be fun. Yep, always is.
Speaker 7 (03:18:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:18:00):
So how does the head coach celebrate a hopecoming victory?
Watch the World Series?
Speaker 2 (03:18:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (03:18:04):
Right, it's about it being bed by nine pretty much.
Uh No, I usually go and I usually go with
my parents, have some dinner, my wife and I have
a have a soda pop and then uh and then
I'm usually home by seven, eight o'clock and then it's
pretty much I try I try to break down this
film tonight yet because I got young girls that want
me my attention tomorrow. So I break down tonight, try
(03:18:26):
to get our game all graded out and and uh
shared out. And then tomorrow morning I try to get
up early and try to knock out breaking down the
lacrosse the last three games they played, and then hopefully
have an afternoon of my daughters.
Speaker 1 (03:18:40):
All right, it sounds like that. Sounds like a good weekend.
Yeah yeah, not bad. Off a lot.
Speaker 8 (03:18:44):
This makes it a lot easier on Saturday night and
Sunday morning when you win. So when you lose the
early in the week is not fun.
Speaker 4 (03:18:50):
Oh, keep We'll keep it up going into next week hopefully.
Speaker 1 (03:18:53):
Yes, all right, maybe a little Packer game tomorrow night.
Speaker 8 (03:18:55):
Yeah they play at seven, don't they.
Speaker 1 (03:18:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (03:18:57):
Yeah, yeah, I might. I might squeeze it in. I
got I got four women at home, so it's a
hit or miss. Well, I gotta watch Mary and Idol
or I get the punch package.
Speaker 1 (03:19:05):
Oh I bet they like watching the Packers.
Speaker 4 (03:19:07):
