Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hi, we are the Malls. We're here to share our
story about our son Christian. He was go through his
childhood up until twelve. He started with a rapid heart rate.
I took him into the doctor and they're like, we
can't get this to stop. We're sending you to the hospital.
We got down there and there was a whole team. Wait,
they knew who we were as soon as we walked in.
(00:23):
At that point I kind of just stepped back. They've
got him, our cardiologist. He sat down and we found
out there was a lot more going on than what
was first or the late thought that was going on.
His try cuss the self was wide open. Basically that
(00:45):
was too big, so they were going to have to
look at that. He had star tissue and arrhythmias. It
took a little while. We were back and forth just
kind of keep an eye on him, trying to figure
out a path, what was going to happen, how we
were going about this. So his heart would pump, but
it wouldn't relax. They said, he's got to have open her, sir.
(01:09):
And that's when our electrical cardiologists met us up with
doctor Baldwig, which she's a heart failure doctor. So we
worked with her for a few years and he was
diagnosed three to five years on the heart that he had,
and we were two and a half years in three
and things started to change. They knew. I was sitting
(01:32):
on the bedroom him talking and he grabs his heart
and he says that was a high heart rate. He says, ooh,
there's a headache, and I knew something was not right.
So I jumped up and I ran to get a
blood pressure machine so we can catch that. We tried
to catch and see what's going so I could call
this cardiologists and be like, hey, this is happening. Two
(01:54):
seconds from grabbing that into his room, he was passed out.
I basically called nine to one one and was sitting
there working on him the time of ambulance got there.
They did the best they could, but to find out
we were totally hark already at arrest the way he
(02:15):
was with people, and he lit up. We wanted to
do something in his honor, and I know a lot
of times when he was in the hospital there was
different things that they give the kids. They would come
through with packages or stuffed animals or something, and he
(02:35):
would always say, no, give it. To the other kids
they needed. People's kindness and generosity is what he would want.
He would want people to spread the kindness. You know
that there is good people out there. We need to
help each other. We need to help these kids and
show them that there are good people in this world,
(03:01):
even though you do may not know them so much.
