Speaker 1 (00:00):
Just in case you end up at the kid's table
or walk by it in the next couple of days
help with their language. This is West Michigan's Morning newsty
Kelly and Brett Bikita on the liveline with us this morning.
Tanya Jay Powers with Fox News Radio in New York. Tanya,
thanks for doing this today.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Of course, there.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Are some terms, there are some things that these kids
saying that go over our head. I mentioned yesterday on
a old video talking about the show coming up today
that my kids spoke Spanish still do, and I don't
know what they're saying. So they found a way to
get around, you know, code language that way. But let's

(00:39):
can we start with skibbety, which I hear a lot
of what God's name does that mean?

Speaker 2 (00:45):
That is the one everybody keeps asking me about. It's
six seven and skibbitty. Those are the two that everybody
is like, Okay, explain this they please. Skibbity is kind
of gibberish. It is, it's it's It comes from a
YouTube series called Skivity toilet. If you've got you know

(01:08):
a couple of spare hours to go down that rabbit hole,
by all means, uh do so it is an animated series. Uh,
we're not talking like Disney animated series. We're talking about
kind of an odd sort of thing where a human
head pops out of a toilet bowl. It's it's a
whole it's a whole thing. But yeah, it is one

(01:31):
of those kind of kind of it's a reference to
the show. It's also just kind of gibberish. It is
used in place of other words. It's it's hard to
describe if you. Thankfully, I mean every generation has had these,
you know, slang terms, right, I mean it's I'm gen X.
We had our share of them as well that my

(01:51):
I remember my parents would just look at me and go,
I don't even what what do you even mean by these?
By these things? Are these even words? Now? Thankfully we're
lo because we at least have YouTube and TikTok and
social media to go on and kind of like get
an idea of what this stuff means. So we could
actually kind of cheat and figure it out that way
if we really wanted to. But yeah, I think we're

(02:13):
in a better position to sort of understand it. Six
seven is another one of those that I know you've know,
you've heard, Oh it has worked its way into the
popular lexicon, even if you don't have Gen Alpha kids.
I take it by that, by that sound that you're
you're familiar.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yes, I'd like to ban it at my kitchen table
if I could. But oh man, it's like turn over
your phone in the basket and do not reference six
to seven.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
So I take it you have a Gen Alpha uh
offspring there that is that is referencing this? And am
I correct in that assumption? Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yes? And boyfriends and girlfriends and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yeah. My favorite thing today today has been to talk
to the hosts who have kids who are Gen Alpha,
who have used these a lot, and every every single
one of them so far, without fail, has made that
sound that you that you made of just sheer frustration
of oh we have to do this. When is this

(03:11):
going to go away? Please tell me it's run its
course by now.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
I just don't want to say something dirty and not
know it. You know what I mean, right exactly. I
don't want to propagate some filth you know that these
and all respect to Steve, but he would be that guy, right. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
The rule of thumb here is if you're not absolutely
this kind of goes with really any playing term. But
if you're not one hundred percent sure of how this
is used, maybe maybe check it out a little bit
more before you attempt to throw this into a conversation,
because if you if you throw this into a conversation
with a Gen Alpha, you're definitely going to get the

(03:47):
eye roll. I mean if that, but if that's your goal,
lean into it. By all means. You know, you could
go one or two routes here.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
You know what, kid get a job, Yeah, exactly. Powers
with Box News Radio in New York. Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Thank you, Merry Christmas, Thank you,
