Speaker 2 (00:09):
All right, Ty Hallick, I am fired up getting ready
for Thanksgiving weekend semi finals Saturday for high school football.
With this segment, though, we got to start with a
big one, I think for the Michigan Wolverines eighteenth ranks,
still in the playoff pictures, still in the Big ten
race going to Maryland, a team that has lost six straight.
They were on the verge if they would have beaten

(00:29):
Washington at a tight game of going five to zero.
They were four and aer at that point. They lose
six straight. Meanwhile, Michigan hasn't been pretty as you know,
just see Northwestern last week at Wrigleyfield, right, Ty, But
they're on a four game winning streak. They control their
own destiny, just won loss. I see this though, as
an interesting game because it could be a trap game
tomorrow on the road for Michigan with the game coming

(00:51):
up next weekend.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Well, I think that's always the case with Michigan. Right
the week before the game, you know, how do you
stay focused? Get too far ahead of yourself, particularly with
the team that hasn't won lately. Mike Loxley, you know,
he's known for some defensive background stuff they do. They
have created some turnovers, which look last week, if you're Michigan,

(01:14):
you got to clean that part of it up, right.
I mean they really almost you know, stumbled one away
at Northwestern just by turning the ball over. So I
think there's things for Michigan to work on. I don't
have any concern with Michigan, you know, winning this ballgame.
It's just can they get some of the things cleaned
up in the efficient and continue to get guys healthy

(01:36):
so that when it comes to the game they're tip
top ready to go to be competitive.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I will say this, if you love throwing the football
around a little bit, and I think Michigan will have
to do more of that in this game because of
what Maryland will throw at him. Bryce Underwood and Malik Washington,
we're two highly recruited. They're freshman quarterbacks that are phenomenal
to watch in Boy are they athletes. I mean bleek
Washington goes six five, he's like two thirty five, and
obviously Bryce Underwood six four, two thirty. I think you

(02:03):
could see a showcase of those two guys tomorrow, which
will be fun absolutely.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
I mean the quarterbacks that can drop back and pass,
they can take off and run deliver the football in
a lot of different ways, so it will be an
exciting football game for sure. But like I said, I
just think Michigan clean some stuff up here and takes
care of business.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Four o'clock of the Big ten network three o'clock pregame
coverag here on wood Radio for that one. Let's go
next to MSU and iowad don't want to spend a
ton of time on this one. Just goes well, why
three point thirty two o'clock with the pregame on Big
one A one point three f M. And I say
that with all Kenny A Son, I mean Michigan say,
do we even know who the quarterback is going to
be starting this game?

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Ty? Well, no, I think you might know. But at
the same token, look, this is one of those things
where you got a couple of games to play. It
has not been a season one to remember necessarily in
a positive way. But what guys are going to show
up and put good tape out there and can and

(03:00):
try to beat Iowa who just comes off a very
tough loss against USC. A lot of connections here. You know,
Phil Parker, the decordinator for Iowa, you know, was Michigan
State product, played played at Michigan State. It's been a
great defensive coordinator. Iowa was a good, solid football team.
But they're not gonna run away from me unless you
give it to them. So let's see what Michigan State

(03:22):
can do in terms of going out being competitive.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Iowa sixteen and a half point favorite that will be
on FS one at three thirty tomorrow. All right, I
want to spend time with this one because injuries this
time of year, whether it's college football the NFL are big,
and when you look at the Lions, they've got four
starting offensive linemen that are questionable for this game. Is
the Giants come to town on Sunday one o'clock and
it's one of those with the Giants at two and
nine tie, you just don't want to mess around. You

(03:45):
got to have an impressive performance if you're the Lions,
sort of like they did with Washington a couple.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Of weeks ago. Well, you to expect that and they're gonna,
you know, I'm sure, put their best foot forward Dan
Campbell wouldn't expect it, you know, to be any less
than that. You know, the Giants are really interesting to me.
I mean, Jackson dark is coming out of concussion protocol,
so I'm assuming we're going to see him, if not
Jameis Winston. But you know, I look at this and

(04:13):
there's a little bit of scariness to this. They just
came away from a bad loss. Not a bad loss,
but a competitive loss with not so much good offense
against Philadelphia. And I don't pretend to say that New
York's anything like Philadelphia, but Brian Burns you got to
be watching out for him with some of the injuries
you're just talking about. On the offensive line, Yeah, thirteen sacks,

(04:34):
you know, only only second to Miles Garrett. So that's
a problem. And Dexter Lawrence is a three time Pro
bowler on the interior. That creates a lot of problems
as well. So a strong defensive line with some question
marks on offense, and you know how that offense runs.
It's it's it's one, two three. Get rid of the ball,
keep Jared Golf clean and let them distribute. Those guys

(04:57):
can crease some habits up front as they do you
know they can get off the mark, But I do
see them bouncing back. Dan Campbell and this Lion's team
has had a great job of coming back from the
tough losses. But you know they're going to have to
execute at a higher level than they did last week.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Got to keep pace with the Bears and Packers. It's
as simple as that. Thanks Ty, we appreciate it.
