Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, let's touch football. Our insider brought to you by

I got to talk about the big win of the
Lions to start things out Thursday night football last night
at home. It was rocking in the d forty four
to thirty the final Lions approved to eight and five.

(00:20):
And you always talk about ty how tough it is
to win in the NFL, Right, you just got to
get the w because of the parody. How crazy is
it that the Lions have not lost back to back games.
It's been a roller coaster ride to say the least
this year, but impressive nonetheless for the players and coaches
stepping up in that spotlight.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yeah, I got to think Dan Campbell's a happy camper
this morning. And not an easy task really, the Dallas
Cowboys coming in after beating Philadelphia. You know a lot
of different things going on with the Cowboys this year
in the background, with the trade of Michael Parsons and
you know, making some other trades late. They're obviously on

(00:59):
a track of getting better and Dak Prescott, let's face it,
he continues to show why he's one of the best
quarterbacks in the National Football League. In my mind that
he does a lot for that football team. But we
were able to get to him more than one occasion.
But so many guys pitched in. Jack Campbell with the

(01:19):
force fumble, Barns and Reid with interceptions one obviously at
a very crucial times. Jamier Gibbs three tds now forty
seven in his first year, tied with Barry Standers Hall
of Famer for that. You know, he got thirteen on
the season, Taslag gets a touchdown, Montgomery has a really
good run early, Kennedy, the returning the ball. You know,

(01:45):
just all across the board, offense, defense, special teams in
at time of absolute need for the Lions and crucial
in front of those home fans, absolutely electric. Now.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
The nice thing too, is you get, because of that
Thursday game, extra time as far as to heal up,
get everyone as healthy as possible, because here we go
with this stretch run where it's going to be like
a playoff feel almost every game for the Lions trying
to get in there. The good news too, before we
leave the NFL is the fact Chicago and Green Bayvy
showdown on Sunday at lambeau Field, and one of them

(02:16):
has to lose, at least according to the way I
understand competition. Let's go to the Big Ten championship game
before we go to the SEC and preview this. I'm
looking forward to this tie. I really have for a while.
Number one Ohio State unbeaten against number two Indiana unbeaten,
and there could be a little thing called the Heisman
on the line for the quarterback who wins this game, right.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, no doubt, and think about it in the modern
era of football right now going into this first of all,
first time I believe two undefeated Big Ten teams come
in let alone one in two. I don't know that
we'll potentially see that in a championship game the way
these things typically play out, But yes, the quarterbacks are

(02:59):
definitely going to be absolutely crucial in this game. Fernando
Mendoza from Indiana has been absolutely amazing for Signetti and
his staff in that team, and they've got a ton
of playmakers that are gonna need to do just that.
They're gonna have to defend Jamir, you know, Jeremiah Smith.
You know, there's so many things that that are gonna

(03:21):
go into this game you certainly give I think the
edgekill Ohio State based off kind of what your ie pass.
But look, Indiana went into Oregon and and won a
football game out there that a lot of people didn't
think they could and Signetti the coach figures out ways
to win. So I think this is gonna be an
absolute diaper dandy one versus two Big ten football. It

(03:44):
will be a must watch if you're any kind of
fan at all. You know, for college football.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Eight o'clock tomorrow night, Fox seventeen allowed the coverage locally,
and then you go from that, which is unique to
one that we've certainly seen before. But can Georgia get
over the hump against Alabama when it comes to an
SEC championship game? Number three Dogs, Number nine Crimson tied
four o'clock tomorrow on ABC.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Yeah, you know what's amazing about this, Brett. Since twenty eighteen,
these two teams have met nine times, and I would
have thought that Georgia has won a few more. It's
a seven to two in favor of Alabama right now.
I think Georgia is a little bit better this particular year,
but Alabama's been playing really good football and if ty
Simpson has time and is able to get the ball

(04:29):
down the field the guys like Ryan Williams, it will
be a problem for Georgia. This is another one too
that it should be an absolute diaper dandy. I just
this one's a hard one for me to pick. But somehow,
some way, Kirby Smart and Georgia has to get off
the schneid a little bit here and start to even
up that record because it has not been good for

(04:51):
Georgia even earlier in the season with Alabama. It's one
of those crazy things that this will be very competitive,
but I you don't really wonder what Georgia can do
to get get themselves a victory.
