Speaker 2 (00:14):
All right, all right, Ty Hallick live from the beach
in Myrtle Beach. First of all, shout out to the
Broncos of Western Michigan. To your son, I know it's
emotional for your new wife playing his last college football game, right.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Yeah, it's hard to believe, but the emotions have started
already this morning for us, just thinking about what an
amazing journey it's been with all your kids. You know,
you celebrate and love up your kids and their passions
and the directions they go. We're doing that now. But
it's crazy to think that, you know, for Tate in particular,
when Tanner was done, it was an emotional event from
(00:49):
his life and this will be the same. But the
good news is we got a MAC championship and a
opportunity at a bowlwin today to wrap up Tate and blessing.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Nonetheless, well share with your wife Jen that you're missing
three or four inches of blowing snow this morning, so
we're all thinking of you and the Broncos down at
Myrtle Beach. Let's start tonight college football playoff. You know
that your game's kind of an appetizer leading into hard
to believe first round game tonight and doesn't get much
better on this Number nine Alabama, number eight Oklahoma. It's
a rematch time from the regular season where Oklahoma went
(01:22):
into Alabama and beat the Crimson Tide by two.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Yeah. Rennables has done a great job at Oklahoma and
for some reason he's got Alabama's number. They've actually won
the last two games against Alabama and it makes you
wonder kind of what this game will be like. Both
defenses are stout. Alabama's had a little bit of struggle
bus in terms of the run game, particularly against Oklahoma.
(01:46):
So we'll see what Taylor Debor has in store for that.
Definitely gonna be about some playmakers, though they got to have.
I think both Matier and ty Simpson's quarterback play is
going to be key, very interesting. You know, Alabama coming
in with the three losses, a little controversy in that obviously,
(02:07):
with the playoff picture, what can they do potentially to
win a game or two or make a little bit
of run here. Certainly the talent is there for Alabama,
but can they get past Oklahoma, who they were not
able to earlier in the season.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Eight o'clock ABC and ESPN for that one. Don't forget
that's tonight than a triple hunter with the rest of
the first round games tomorrow, and we can't do all
three of them. So I chose the first one out
of the gate. I think this is the closest one.
It certainly is as far as the spread is concerned.
But number ten Miami Florida, who gets in Notre Dame,
does not. At number seven Texas A and M an
eleven to one, Aggie's team. This will be noon tomorrow,
(02:44):
ABC at ESPN, And I tell you in this one
another great matchup of quarterbacks. But I really like Texas
A and M's quarterback. I don't know if people have
seen him a lot, but Marcel Reid is the real deal.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
He really is. He can do it with his arm
and his feet on his electric player. Hard to contain.
And when you talk about quarterbacks Miami, you know Beck
who went down and you know got money coming out
of Georgia. But really, quite frankly, is the key for them.
You know, you look at their two losses against Louisville
and SMU. Six turnovers by Beck trying to be, you know,
(03:20):
something more than what he needs to be. I think
in terms of that offense, they do have some electrifying players,
but I think Beck has got to not turn the
ball over if Miami wants any kind of chance against
Texas A and M, which will be very difficult playing
them on their own turf.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
And I know Notre Dame fans don't want to hear it,
but this is why you're not in the college football Playoff.
These two teams both beat you, and thus they are
playing head to head in a first round matchup tomorrow
at noon. Finally, we've got the Pittsburgh Steelers and Aaron
Rodgers eight and six. Nice win for them coming in
against the Lions at eight and six. Big game at
Ford Field, four to twenty five on Sunday on CBS.
(03:56):
And you know how I feel about and I think
Lions fans do with Aaron Rodgers. He just always scares me, right.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Yeah, he just you know, the guy always seems to
deliver the ball at the right time, in the right
place when he's playing the Lions, Pittsburgh obviously coming off
a big win themselves at a lot of the line
for both teams, right playoffs implications across the board. The Lions,
I get the good news for us, it's good news
bad news. We haven't won a couple in a row,
(04:23):
and we haven't lost a couple in a row, so
hopefully this is one of those things. They can bounce
back from a loss from the Rams, who holy cow,
do they lose a doozy last night against the Seattle Seahawks.
As crazy as the NFL is this season. But you know,
I look, I look at the Lions and they just
have to be sound football and they have to keep
high Smith and her Big the two edge rushers because TJ. Watt,
(04:47):
as you know, is down with that long issue, which
is kind of lucky for the Lions fans. I think
not having him on the field, But we got to keep,
you know, our quarterback go off protected and allow him
to run that offense and be like the first half
against the Rams, but do it for a full game
if we want to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.
