Speaker 2 (00:09):
Oh, I'm fired up.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
I love this weekend when it comes to the football games.
We're going to put the Lions on the back burner
just for a moment as we welcome in Ty Hellick,
and we got a breakdown first the game, right, there's
nothing bigger the way this is set up now, defending
national champs Number one Ohio State coming into perfect eleven
and zero. They've lost the last four to number fifteen Michigan.
It's at the big House. Michigan took care of business

(00:33):
last weekend against Maryland, so they have a chance to
win and get the Big Ten championship game and maybe
the college football playoff. At nine to two eleven, AM
starts the coverage here on Wood Radio noon on Saturday
with the kickoff, and again Fox seventeen eleven the coverage. Tye.
To me, this comes down to aggressiveness as far as
the play calling with Ohio State and their new quarterback

(00:55):
in Julian sand who's played fantastic. And then also I
think the Ohio State defense, how well they play, because
Michigan is starting to find themselves a little bit, although
they do have some injuries.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Yeah, no doubt. I think you know, Ohio State second
and rush defense and Michigan. Michigan's strength really is their rush.
I mean, it's it's in quite frankly, I think a
key to winning this ballgame. And quite frankly, I think
what's turned the tide. You know, if you go back
four years ago, right, Ohio State had been on a
six year run. Now it's a four year run for Michigan,

(01:28):
maybe five, who knows that if they can take care
of business. But I think they do it by what
they did, particularly even last year, where they put Ohio
State in the box where they're able to just chunk plays,
get first downs and not turn the ball over. Turnovers
will be a big thing for Michigan. They've they've had
a little bit of an issue in the last few weeks.
They got to make sure they don't turn the ball over.

(01:51):
But you know, I think Michigan certainly can be competitive.
They and they have an opportunity to win this game
again if they can put me these guys in a
box and get those chunk plays. The other thing they
have to do with you're talking about saying, at the
end of the day, Jeremiah Smith, who most people know
across the country, is probably the top receiver in the country.

(02:11):
Sixty nine catches for nine hundred and two yards and
ten dds. You're definitely going to have to get after him.
Their defense is going to have to rattle, saying and
not let him get the ball down field. And Jeremiah
Smith isn't the only showing town. They got multiple players
on multiple levels, so this should be There's the reason
why they call it the game. It's a huge festivity

(02:34):
for many over this Thanksgiving weekend, but this will be
a huge game for Michigan and Ohio State.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
One quick question on that Buck guys nine and a
half point favorites in this game on the road, which
is a high number. Does Bryce Underwood have to play
an a game for Michigan to win.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I think so. I mean, he's got to be top shelf.
And again, it's the turnovers issue, right, Eliminate the turnovers,
make the plays. Get that. He has to take what
they get of them, not try to be the hero.
And I think if they do that, true. Moore has
some coach that way, which I'm sure he is. They'll
have opportunities.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
All right tomorrow to start your Turkey Day one o'clock
on five seventeen noon, the coverage on Big one to
one point three FM Monster Game. As far as the
NFC North standings, green Bay at Detroit, regardless of the rivalry,
seven three to one Packers coming in seven and four Lions,
Lions survive over the Giants. What do they have to
do against green Bay to get the victory? Because green Bay,

(03:28):
let's face it, they embarrassed him in that opening Week
one game at lambeau Field.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Well, the first thing I wrote down in my notes
here Brett and having been through these short weeks before
as a Detroit Lion, these things giving day games, which
are awesome with national televised, but it's a short week.
You only got a couple of days to prepare. But
the number one thing I wrote down is the emotion,
the emotion of what green Bay did to earlier in
the year, the emotion of coming off an overtime win

(03:56):
against the Giants. How do you gather yourself and get
yourself all about the visit us of football take advantage
of Jordan Love's inconsistency, but also control what you can
and particularly on offense, we got to give golf time.
Micah Parsons got ten sacks, Aiden Hutchinson's got eight and
a half. I think both sides of the ball is
going to be crucial. Can you disrupt the quarterback across

(04:18):
from you? And remember Green Bay as good as they've
been prolifically in offense over the years, defensively right now
they're fourth in yards per game allot what they allow
and fifth in points per game. So this is a challenge.
It's a shirt week, but emotionally, they got to be right.
They got to get rid of all the distractions and
does the Detroit Lions focus on the task in hands

(04:39):
and they're going to have to execute at a high
level and get a victory back that they lost in
the beginning of the season.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Linees to and a half point favorites. Quick turn around
here Saturday night, seven o'clock Ford Field, Maryland and Michigan
State Final game for Michigan State. Can they win a
game of the big ten time?

Speaker 2 (04:54):
No? Hope, Sure, that's great, Steve. I'm glad to your possess.
Here's the key there, real quickly Michigan State's minus three
in the turnover margin, Maryland's a plus seven. We cannot
turn the ball over. I do give Jonathan Smith credit
for the fight that these guys have in the game.
They could have won last week against Iowa. It'll take

(05:15):
that type of effort and no turnovers to beat Maryland.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Now, I will definitely say that about the players. So there.
