Speaker 2 (00:14):
All right, we're not going to waste any time here.
We're going to go right to your alma matern Michigan State.
Steve and I will be there in attendance as well
with our families. Homecoming for the Spartans welcoming to UCLA
now at the start of the year. And this will
be on the Big ten Network ten thirty pre game
coverage from East Lanton, a big one to one point
three FM. People might say, oh, that's a w especially
the way it started up. They fired their head coach,

(00:35):
intrim coach coming in. But all of a sudden they
shocked the world and they knock off Penn State last week.
What do you make of that? And when I said
that earlier, Michigan State's still a seven a half point favorite.
They're coming off of back to back road losses, right,
which which really surprises me. And look, I'm a lout
as green as it gets. I just you know, UCLA

(00:57):
with this huge win. You know, Tim Skipper and Jerry Neuheisel,
such a big deal about how they changed the offense
around Iamalai Ave, who.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
We're going to see six foot six, two twenty pounds
can run as an arm.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
By the way, I'm glad you said his last name.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Yeah. Well, we've been talking about it a little bit
here in the green room. Call it. It's one of
those things that this is a perplexing game to me.
I think the thing that Michigan State has going for them,
to be quite honest, they're at home homecoming a lot,
lot lot of support and got to chip on your

(01:37):
shoulder because you really let something get away from you
last week. Ucla. This is going to be a hard
test for them West Coast, coming back to the Midwest.
You just had one of the biggest upsets in NCAA
history really in terms of the way that it ended
up and the expectation of that game. Noon game going

(01:59):
to be early for them. I mean they're gonna be
getting up at six o'clock at you know, their local
time in the morning and playing at nine. So tough
for UCLA. But you can't underscore a team that quite
frankly went toe to toe with a very good team
in Penn State. Now, granted they get warts like everybody else. However,
that just was a huge win. So ken Michigan State

(02:22):
win this should they? I believe so, But they're going
to really have to corral this quarterback and offense and
the way they were able to throw the ball. Jerry
Neuheisel came up with something. I am lalve he had
not had this type of production and those couple of
tweaks and probably a little bit of creativity helped those
guys a lot. So it's it's I expect this to

(02:43):
be a decent game. I don't think it's going to
be a pushover by any means, but Michigan State's got
to take care of business.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I think all three of these games could go either way.
It's going to be musty TV. So we go from
there to a night game going the other ways. Number
fifteen Michigan at USC in the Counsel and Michigan State
played there a couple of weeks ago, seven thirty on
TV eight, I mean six thirty pre game coverag We
will have it here on your home for Michigan football
would radio. And to me, it's Justice Haines. You know,
can USC defensively stop him because he's really what makes

(03:11):
Michigan go. And I could see Michigan going out there
and winning this game. As I say that, though, the
one thing that Riley has done this year is USC
is more balanced offensively. They have a rushing attack.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
They do, and I think the big thing for Michigan
through that run running attack that will be presented to
them is also stopping Mackay Lemon, the receiver for USC,
their best receiver. But look, I'm bullish on Michigan because
defense travels, yeah, and so does a running game. And
USC may be able to throw the ball at some times,

(03:44):
but I think Bryce Underwood may bust out here a
little bit. I think they may chuck the ball down
the field. So to me, with the defense running game,
I think once you're able to have those type of scenarios,
I think that helps quarterbacks tremendously. So I'm bullish on
Michigan going out and beating the US.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah, primetime, Hollywood, the stars come out, I agree with.
I think this could be a big game for Bryce
Underwood and let's wrap it up Sunday Night football if
your weekend wasn't long enough. But we love it. Lions
at Case now the Lions are a one and a
half point underdog. You would be surprised by that because
of the way that they're playing right now. It's eight
twenty on Wood TV, eight Sunday Night and we'll have
it for you seven fifteen over on Big one to

(04:19):
one point three a m. But the big key here
that people need to make sure you read the fine print.
There's a lot of injuries this week. Brian brantch most
notably with that foot. He doesn't play. That's a big
loss for the defense.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Yeah, I think that's huge. I also think Decker is
a big worry. Saint Brown, Joseph Arnold, and Raymond all
didn't practice at one point this week, so right, I
don't want to promote or suggest the whole injury bug
thing because it's early enough in the season that it
freaks me out, particularly with last year. But this really,
this game to me, ultimately comes down to Jared Golf

(04:52):
and how he's been able to execute against Steve Spagnolo
defenses that seem to come a lot a lot less
this year by the way Spagnolo has. No I've been
creating the pressure. I'm curious if he tries to bring
the pressure because Jared Golf is very good about one, two, three,
get rid of the ball and making the right decisions
that'll be key for the Lions to win.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Before I kick it back to you, Steve, I just
want to say kudos too because of what I love
about this team that I didn't think about with new coordinators,
it can go either way, right The coordinators right now
are playing with a lot of confidence. Their guys want
to play for them, and I think that they are
taking every game as a challenge, which I love to see.
It's kind of invigorated the Lions again to push towards
that Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
We spec only the guy from Fast Times that ridgem.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Isn't that our time? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Rady? We got a pizza seven forty one by builder Lease.
