Speaker 1 (00:00):
Listen if you're a Clay and Buck fan, handity fan.
This story is not new, but GOP senators calling for
a special counsel to pro president former President Obama over
that twenty sixteen Trump Russia investigation. Ryan Schmels, Fox News Radio,
Ian Washington, d C Ryan, Good morning, Good morning. So
(00:21):
this is prompted. It's Lindsey Graham and John Cornyn. Right,
this is prompted because of new information from Telsea Gabbard.
What more do we know?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Well, yeah, I mean we know what she told us
last week, which is that, you know, there is these
accusations that President Obamba and his administration colluded to push
the Russian collusion investigation.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
And President Trump has been pretty adamant that he did
not clude with Russia and that this is now was
an example of President Obama trying to weaponize the government
against President Trump to push this narrative. So DAB has
gone as far as to say that President Obama acted
with treasonous intentions here, which is the pretty stiff accusation.
(01:04):
So Senators grahamt. Corton is saying they want to see
a special counsel and independent special council appointed in order
to deal with this.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Yeah, and I mean that's not a word that you
throw around lightly, especially given the fact that it happened
to President Trump before.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Right. Well, yeah, I mean, he was he faced numerous accusations,
he faced, he went, he was indicted several times by
the Biden administration or at least officials within the Biden administration,
and of course, you know outside of outside of the
DC political spectrum too. So President Trump has said that
that was weaponizing the federal government and that President Obama
(01:41):
now has accusations that he was weaponized in federal government.
But what the big kicker is is that President Trump
had a Supreme Court case that pretty much stated that
presidents do have immunity for ex taken while in office.
And President Trump has straight up said that President Obama
is going to benefit from that rule. We canna help
President Trump.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
So what happens next, then, procedurally they're calling for the
AG the Attorney General to pick up the ball and
run with it.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
We pretty much just wait to see what the what
the Department of Trust is going to do, if they're
going to try pursue any type of actions against the
Obama administration officials. Bobby I like it I said, it's
gonna be hard for them to pursue anything against President
Obama himself, but could they pursue some other lower level
fishers like James Clapper. I think that's still a possibility.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Interesting that President Trump would already lay out the defense
that is. Ryan Schmells, Fox News Radio in Washington, d C.
Thanks for your time today, Gross.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Thank you did
