We're tonight on the LMCU high School Basketball Game of
the Week. What a way to start the season. On
the girls side, the Falcons of West Catholic of Erdio
playoff team in girls basketball, making it to the final
fourth of President Center the last four seasons against the

Lady Big Reds Muskege, with seniors Mariah Sain and c. C.
Bonner leading the way after injuries took him out most
of last year, along with Jason Hutton and Joe Ritz
our third member reck crew. Like I said, I'm Brett,
Pikita and Jay I know we're fired up to start
basketball season. Here we go. We covered this game a
year ago in Misskegan, the heck of a game of
the Big Reds and in West Catholic at that time,

one of only four losses they suffered all season.

Well, that's what was beautiful about the matchup last year
was in late February, so it kind of served as
a get ready for the state tournament for both teams.
And you know, last year we knew how good Mskegan
could be, but the problem was with Maria san and C. C.
Bonder injured most of the season, they lost a bunch
of games. Their young players got to grow up. Maria
Sin came back for that game Miskegon won, and they

never did get Bonder back. Bonder's back now Miskegan's loaded.
West Kelly went to the state championship game last year.

It's a great matchup and obviously Alexis Asakome only a
junior three year varsity star, where West Catholic will be
their leader down low, the power forward. And don't forget
about kent Lee Slanger, now back for a sophomore season,
another guard for West Catholic. The great lineage Abby Kimball,
Alicia Dykstra Cadencedikstra now both playing at Toledo the sisters.

They're Abbey of course finishing up, but MSU the next
winning line will be ken Lee Slanger and they have
some good seniors around them. As we dive into our

Well, yeah, you look at it and from his Skegan,
you're worried about the russ, right, and this is their
first game of the season, so you know there's always
a little bit of russ. West Catholic had that on
Tuesday against Parma Western. They started slow but kicked it in.
I think huge advantage to the Falcons having played that
game on Tuesday night. But what really stood out to
me and that West Catholic win over Parmer Western on
Tuesday watching it was their ability to rebound and crash

the glass. Right. The Skeigan has got to do a
good job on the backboard today to have a chance
to beat West Catholic. And then it's gonna be the
guard players you alluded to. I mean, you talk about
very different West Catholic team in the backbourt Slanger's back
who was a freshman year ago. But no Alicia Dykstra,
no Paget London, no Anna Ignatowski. So they need players
like Caitlin Adams, Taylor Lyon, Emily Holts a step up
