Speaker 1 (00:00):
Speaking of a little work. It's taken a while to
get to this point of the peace process and with
the very latest Jonathan Savage with Box News Radio in London,
thanks for doing this today.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Hello, good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
So President Trump officially announced Wednesday night, hailing the assistant
cutter in Egypt and Turkey. What does phase one look like?
Talk to us a little bit about Israel and Hamas.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, we're now well into phase one because the Israeli
government approved and ratified the Eeast Plan. The ceasefire came
into force at noon local time as Israeli troops, we're told,
have withdrawn to the so called yellow line inside Gaza,
which is about half of the territory now under is
really control, and has returned to the Palestinians without Israeli

(00:49):
troops there. This means that a senty to our window
has opened up, during which the hostages are to be
returned to Israel twenty living hostages and the remains of
twenty eight others. So that is phase one, and Phase
one should be complete once all those hostages have returned.
Israel say they have no intentionive restarting hostilities Hamas. They've

(01:10):
been assured by US officials and others. This really is
going to be the end of the war.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
What do we know about that process ceremony when they
hand over the hostages before, it's been some sort of
terrifying three ring circus. Do we expect anything like that?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
We have been told that this is not going to
happen like that this time. Hamas has promised that that
is not what's going to happen. Previously, hostages afraid made
to give speeches in front of crowds of Palestinians and
gasms and sort of shuffled through these crowds before we
hand it over to the Red Cross. We're told that

(01:49):
it will happen in a much more dignified manner out
of the public eye, the transfer to the International Red
Cross before being returned across the border into Israel.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Now, I think, at least as far as Israel and
those countries that are sympathetic, it's all been about getting
the hostages back, and I'm not sure that there's been
much thought moving forward. What is the most important thing
to Hamas after this exchange.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Well, it's interesting because American officials are kind of telling us, look,
don't worry too much about what a Hamas is saying
in public or being said as private is going to
be very different. AMAS has been saying they're not agreeing
to disarmament. They're saying they want to have a role
in the future of Gaza, but of course Israel's red
line would prevent either of these things from happening. AMAS,

(02:37):
it's hard to stay exactly at this point what their
their views are going to be. The deal that present
Crumb outlined would allow amnesty for any member of Hamas
who disarms and gives up the military struggle, as it were,
gives up military action against Israel. Perhaps that is going
to be one of the key points for the AMAS leaders.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
And it's Jonathan Savage with Fox News Radio in London.
Great stuff, thank you, thank you.
